Author's Note: Again, thanks for the reviews and liking this story. I'll try not to make it like a retelling of Sonic Colours or boring. Depending on whether it's adventure chilling or intense, we'll see what happens. Anywho, here's a new chapter!

Chapter 4: Not so Sweet.
In legends as everybody on Mobius would say, the time of the Lunina Comet was expected to pass by the planet once every 100 years was approaching, and it was safe to say that it would pass any planet without hitting them. Unlike the Black Comet which was used as a transport for evil aliens like the Black Arms, this comet was considered as magical, shaped like an actual star, glowing in beautiful light and leaving behind a trail of dust, and in the recent months some people, who had seen Sonic in his Super Sonic form, commented that it was like what he could do with the power of the Chaos Emeralds.
However, just as the Lunina Comet was passing an empty barren world somewhere in space not too far from the Mobius Solar System, suddenly some of the comet's light was being drained from the comet itself and passed down into the abandoned planet's surface and absorbed deep into it's core, around twelve or seven pieces of the comet coming away and flying across the galaxy into different planets, both old and new, some sinking into them, with a group of aliens observing the event unfold.
These are Spirit and his group of Wisps that had started all of this, as well as those who after hearing what happened, some were hesitant and had already left to return to Planet Wisp, the rest that wanted to see Sonic and Tails that badly and liked the idea of the Jade-Ghost Wisp's plan to unite the Universe.
Then came a problem. When the Star-Beam Wisps and Jumping Wisps combined their powers, they ended up splitting up the Wisps from all across the worlds they, Sonic and Tails visited, and unknowingly to everyone, gathered new planets never seen before. Not to mention that Spirit and his group were currently facing a complete change due to the effects of their actions and desires, and their Hyper-Go-Ons going over their heads.
"(The Flying Star! It's here! Now this is what I call excitement! If only Sonic and Tails were here to see this.)" Spirit remarked as he grinned excitedly, with other Jumping Wisps, Star-Beam Wisps, Hammer Wisps, and other kinds of Wisps that were on his side, cheering on.
"(Yeah, but...we came to this empty world and I don't think we should be absorbing it's light. Remember the stories we were told about Baldy Nosehair draining away Mama's Hyper-Go-On?)" One of the Star-Beam Wisps stated, a little bit uncertain.
Spirit just laughed as the Jade-Ghost Wisp spun around. "(Ah, this is nothing. It's not like the star's like us or the Mobians. We're linking the worlds with new portals so everybody can visit each worlds whenever they want. That includes Sonic's world.)"
"(That sounds like fun!)" One of the Hammer Wisps exclaimed with glee.
"(Yep! And to make sure Sonic and Tails can come to us, we just need to make sure they find shards of the Flying Star since we're a bit stuck and only two of us can leave at the time, especially since we're lost, but a little fun game wouldn't hurt, now would it? Not to mention that our powers have made the shards to make things more fun in the worlds they were placed in...except our home and Sonic's world.)" The Jade-Ghost Wisp explained, rubbing two of his tentacles together.
"(Don't you think them recognizing you and realizing that we're forcing Sonic and Tails to do this would make them think our kind are bad now?)" A Jumping Wisp shrugged.
A moment of pause before Spirit hummed thoughtfully. "(Hmm...Good point. What we need is...)"
Then an idea formed and Jade-green alien cackled. "(I know! We'll create our own new forms! That way, nobody will recognize us and we can keep an eye on things to make sure the Universe joins together!)"
"(But how do we do that?)" A Red-Spiky Wisp asked, puzzled.
"(With our powers and trying out the Flying Star's power. Shall we give it a try?)" Spirit suggested, and while those who followed him were stunned by this mad idea, they all shared glances and wondered if this could work or not.
Unaware that another Jade-Ghost Wisp along with a more gentle Star-Beam Wisp, a Cyan Wisp, a Cube-Wisp, a Drill-Wisp, a Spike-Wisp, another White Wisp, and a slightly lavender-cobalt Wisp were watching from around the corner and shared horrified glances before flying away to flee, yet they failed to stay around to hear about the creation of new forms part, babbling about with a plan before the more gentle Jade-Ghost Wisp protested by shaking it's head, only for the lavender-cobalt Wisp to grab hold of it and used it's teleportation power to transport themselves to the people they wanted to see and warn.
To Sonic and Tails who were unaware of the dangers they were about to get themselves into. The rest of the resisting Wisps stayed behind and formed a circle to come up with a plan to try and stop their now corrupted brother Spirit from making things worse.
Sweet Mountain, a planet that was made of sugar, filled with giant cakes, chocolate, ice cream, honey tea, doughnuts, everything that had lots of sweetness in it. The unnatural planet had it's own unique ability in restoring itself despite having a lack of life until the events of the Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park, which was put to rest by Sonic the Hedgehog. Thus the metal construction and parts and even the giant pie factory were all but gone, thanks to the added work of Wisps getting rid of them and restoring the planet to it's original sweet glory.
Yet some of the Wisps that were transported here, loving this place, looked around even as a shining light coming from the center of the tallest mountain of the planet, the area where not even Sonic got the chance to see the last time, and noticed something quite odd about it. As they babbled about while some enjoyed the food here, a piece of the Lunina Comet as well as the not so perfect combined powers of the Jumping Wisps and the Star-Beam Wisps, mixed up during the event, came crashing down into the planet's whipped-cream soil and sank into the road of the enormous cake.
Then the light glowed brightly and spread across the entire world, and as the Wisps were wandering around, they noticed something changing in the entire environment. Almost everything sugary and sweet transformed and changed.
And as the Wisps that were hovering around while following Spirit's example to 'liven things up', unknowingly caused something to come alive...or rather, several things, they were about to learn a hard lesson. Meaning that something is already starting to go wrong.
On the Blue Typhoon as it cruised towards Sweet Mountain, Sonic and his friends were eagerly waiting to reach Sweet Mountain in order to find the rest of the Wisps including the Mother Wisp, as well as try and keeping the more hyper-active little aliens from causing any more mischief and trouble. Those who had gone into Planet Wisp explained to Knuckles and Sun about the situation and they agreed that it was best to find the rest of the aliens as soon as possible and ensure that Spirit would learn his lesson about how much trouble he's caused.
It was the destination that the two other male Mobians that made them skeptical and less excited about. Especially when Sonic, Tails and Yacker were telling everyone once more about how their last adventure in Sweet Mountain went and, as much as the blue hedgehog was embarrassed to admit it, how the hero of Mobius almost got baked inside the giant blue berry pie.
"Sweet Mountain? The planet where everything's literally made out of sugar?" Sun deadpanned, shaking his head in disbelief.
"It's going to be so much fun. I bet it'll be just as exciting and yummy." Cream stated excitedly, with Cheese cooing in agreement.
"Yeah, if you want to get a tummy-ache." Knuckles muttered sarcastically.
"Don't eat too much and you should be fine." Sonic smirked as he cruised on the floor, leaning against the wall below the window with his hands tucked behind his head. "It's funny actually how Eggman once said it was a candy paradise, given that guy's idea of fun."
"You were inside a giant blueberry pie, right, Mr. Sonic?" Cream asked, still slightly scared over that part of the story.
"Sure was, Cream. For a while there, I thought I was gonna be cooked inside it. It's a good thing the Rocket Wisp saved me in time." Sonic confirmed, surpressing the urge to shudder. "It's best to be very careful there in case we find it again."
"(Don't worry. Some of us did make all of that go away, like in our home world. Actually, before we all went home, we did our best to take away all of the things Baldy Nosehair put in in all of the planets he captured.)" Yacker reassured, making the group sigh in relief as well as being surprised.
Yet one thought came into the cobalt Mobian's mind as he asked, "Wait, when you say that, would that mean all of the underwater Aquarium where the air is with all of the stores and stuff are gone too? Meaning that...the Aquarium Park's just a water planet with fish and the giant whale now?"
"(Uh-huh. It was all bad for the sea creatures.)" The curl-headed Wisp confirmed.
"You know, Yacker does have a good point, Sonic." Tails said apologetically, given his brother's fear of water and still being unable to swim. "Remember how you mentioned that a giant Octopus had a pole stuck in it's tentacle?"
Sonic tried hard not to groan in dismay, and instead nodded before quickly reaching into his quills and pulled out a familiar mask made for watery situations. "How could I forget? Felt sorry for the poor guy when I saw that happen. Good thing I still have my Sea-Mask you made me, or else I'd really be in trouble."
"Aw...I kind of miss that attraction since being in that Aquarium was really fun." Amy sighed in disappointment. "I mean, it's great that the planet's back to normal, but still..."
"There's one thing I definitely don't miss about that world, and that's Eggman's Bucket O' Sushi." The two-tailed fox shuddered, rubbing his stomach as he felt slightly queasy. "Ugh, why he picked Bokkun as the Chef is a real mystery."
"Well, I'm sure all of the food on Sweet Mountain will make it up for it, especially since all of the rides are now gone too." Sonic said optimistically. "Kinda wish the giant burgers were real. The way how Eggman built a giant metal one was so convincing I was disappointed that it was a fake."
"I bet you were even more disappointed it wasn't a planet made out of Chili Dogs." Knuckles snorted in amusement.
The blue hedgehog rolled his eyes as everyone tried not to laugh. "Har dee har. You crack me up Knu-"
He was cut off when suddenly there were flashes of light coming from outside which made everyone gaze out of the window and all gasped when they saw shooting stars fly towards them. At Tails' warning, everyone braced themselves while screaming for impact. However, none of the Lunina Comet's pieces hit the Blue Typhoon. Instead it flew past them and disappearing, turning invisible while sinking into places like Sweet Mountain, Aquarium Park, and other new planets that began to appear. Once they found that they were all okay, everyone slowly looked up to see, still shaken and confused on what just happened.
"What's going on? What's with those shooting stars?" Sonic asked, bewildered.
"Yeah, where did they come from?" Knuckles added, baffled while Star was busy trying to calm Cream and Cheese down.
"That was beautiful but very scary." Cream whimpered, clinging onto the lavender hedgehog.
"Chao, Chao..." Cheese squeaked.
"The scanners have detected that there were strange powerful lights that somehow became fragments." Tails deduced, frowning in concern. "Hmm...Something's not right."
Just then, a small glimmer of light appeared in the middle of the room which startled the seven Mobians, the three Wisps and the one Chao as they all gasped softly before it dimmed and revealed the lavender-cobalt Wisp and the Jade-Ghost Wisp that looked around looking all spooked. Sonic immediately stood up as Yacker, Speed and Cutie recognized them and flew around their two friends.
"Is that..." Sonic trailed off, before he and the others checked their WCS watches to listen into what the aliens are saying.
Yet the Jade-Ghost Wisp that wasn't Spirit was babbling hysterically to the point of looking ready to cry, and the lavender-cobalt wisp attempting to calm it down.
"(Hey, hey! Slow down, Ghosty. It's alright. Just remain calm and relax.)" Yacker soothed, causing the Jade-Ghost Wisp, named Ghosty, to take deep breathes.
"(Yeah, Ghosty. Slow down, will ya?)" Speed added, earning skeptical looks from Cutie and the Lavender-Cobalt Wisp, making him shrug cluelessly. "(What?)"
"(You're the one to talk, Speed.)" The Lavender-Cobalt Wisp deadpanned.
"Did they say that Jade-Ghost Wisp's name is Ghosty?" Knuckles asked, skeptically.
"Shh!" Cream shushed scoldingly as she and the other girls glared at the red echidna who flinched in fright. "Don't be so mean!"
Gulping, the Guardian of the Master Emerald whispered in sheepish guilt. "Sorry."
"(Ghosty, what happened?)" Cutie asked, worriedly as she and Yacker attempt to comfort Ghosty who began to sniffle.
"(It's awful! We all ended up in this empty, red planet that doesn't have anything but rock at all. We went underground and some of us already went home, but Spirit and the others that got us there used their Hyper-Go-Ons to drag in the magical Flying Star that flies around every 100 years, just like Mama said in her stories, into the world and taking away it's power, with pieces of it flying to many planets to make them link together or something, with new portals and stuff for everybody to visit!)" Ghosty explained, clearly very upset.
"What!?" All seven Mobians exclaimed.
"(What!?)" Yacker, Cutie and Speed echoed in disbelief.
"Then...those shooting stars we just saw..." Amy trailed off in disbelief.
"It must be the Lunina Comet, which is what the Wisps call the Flying Star!" Tails realized. "I don't know how it's possible, but it looks like Spirit and the Wisps that wanted to have all planets join and link somehow must've combined their powers to use a barren world to possibly absorb the Comet's energy."
"(Not only that, but because of what Spirit did, the only way to for them to get back home and to fix everything up is to find the shards of the comet, and even then, Spirit wants only Sonic and Tails to come to our world and nobody else.)" The Lavender-Cobalt Wisp explained.
"Oh, dear..." Star muttered, worriedly.
Ghostly then sniffled even more. "(We don't even know where everybody else is, or why we're here...I want Mama!)"
The Jade-Ghost Wisp then began to cry with tears flying out of her, which everyone thought it was a girl, invisible eyes while the other Wisps tried to soothe her and making everybody else worried. Cream, feeling sorry for the Wisp, hurried over to help comfort the upset alien as well.
"Aw, don't cry, Ghostly. It will be okay." The seven year old rabbit girl said comfortingly.
"She's right." Sonic agreed wholeheartedly as he approached the aliens. "You got nothing to worry about, as long as Sonic's on the scene, Ghostly. We'll get all of Lunina Comet's shards back and find your friends and your Mom. I promise."
"(Sonic will make everything okay, Ghostly. And we're all here together to help.)" Yacker promised as well, which, even as Ghostly began to sniffle, began to feel better before nodding.
"I managed to scan the pieces of the Lunina Comet and download it's data into the scope and navigator. They fell into places and have somehow linked with these new portals across most of the planets including the ones we've been to. The closest one from here is..." Tails paused before smiling brightly as he finished analyzing the universal map. "Aha! Here we go! It's Sweet Mountain!"
"Which is where we're going anyway." Sun shrugged.
Just then, the ship's radar picked up something, alarming him and his friends who all looked to see what was happening.
"Hey, what's goin' on?" Sonic asked.
"We're nearing Sweet Mountain, and thanks to the Blue Typhoon's scanners, I've picked up the energy wave from the Lunina Comet's shard." Tails reported, as Star also scanned it, but the latter let out a confused gasp, making him ask her. "What's wrong, Star?"
"Uh...guys? Are you sure this is Sweet Mountain? 'Cause I don't see anything sweet about it." The lavender hedgehog asked uneasily with a sweat drop.
"Why do you say that?" Amy asked, confused.
"Look at this. Something's weird about it." Star gestured.
"Or maybe we can look out of the window instead." Sun stated as he did, making his brothers, friends and girlfriend turn to the windows and needless to say, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Yacker, Cutie, Speed, Ghosty, Lily, Cream and Cheese all gasped in shock when they saw they reached their destination.
Or so they thought. Instead of the familiar planet Sonic, Tails and Yacker were expecting made out of sugar, something was completely different about it. As the Blue Typhoon flew in closer to the planet's surface, they saw that it had much less sugar in it, not having any cakes, sweets or candy like they were expecting, and more of...salt, vegatables, cooked meat like pepperoni, roast turkey, ect., everything opposite to sugar.
"That's not right!" Sonic and Tails exclaimed with dumbfounded expressions, unable to believe what they were seeing.
Sweet Mountain has strangely become All-Food Valley-Mountain.
After Tails had the Blue Typhoon land on a giant tower of salted crackers that had a pathway bridge that was made out of a giant salary stick, connecting to a large forest canyon made out of lettuce, potatoes, sausage rolls which were like logs, trees that were made out of broccoli, mountains made out of roast Turkies, roast chicken, areas with giant lemons and apples, huge bananas, and only a few hints of sweets that were recognizable, but other than that, it was like an unfamiliar world, the two-tailed fox and everyone else disembarked carefully and looked around as they stood, unable to believe what was happening. Even the Wisps were utterly confused.
All around them down below and in the air, there were even confused Wisps of many kinds that, while disappointed and shocked by the world's sudden transformation, none the less tried out the new kinds of transformed food that some liked while the others wished that Sweet Mountain was back to the way it was.
"What's going on here? Where'd all of the cakes, sweets and chocolate go?" Sonic asked, absolutely shocked at the new sight before him.
This was awful. Gone were the sweetness of the world that had so many delicious sweets and sugar, and he was kind of hoping to snowboard down the giant bowl of vanilla Ice Cream again(he even packed an Extreme Gear Tails and Uncle Chuck invented a week ago which can also be used as a snowboard made out of the same material as Manny Milestone's), and in it's place was everything opposite to it and while some of the place still looked tasty and exciting to explore, it just wasn't right.
"Something's not right." Tails used his Miles Electric to scan the area, added with the hologram he installed to track the Comet's energy. "I'm picking up strong energy radar from the Lunina Comet's shard and it's everywhere. It's like it's power transformed this place, changing Sweet Mountain all together."
"So the Lunina Comet shard's behind all this?" The blue hedgehog questioned, blinking. "I thought the legend says that it was supposed to be harmless, and that it's like a shooting star."
"It is, but there was something else that I heard of years ago, but I didn't think it would be true. In this case, I have a bad feeling that it's already happening." Knuckles said grimly, gazing at the world before them which made his friends glance at the red echidna in confusion.
"You know something about this, Knuckles?" Amy asked.
The guardian of the Master Emerald nodded. "According to the Echidna Lore, in the time when the Lunina Comet passed by our planet Mobius, the elders of the tribe once foretold of a chilling prophecy, one of them having a vision to see through the past and the future. In short, they say that if the Lunina Comet is shattered and it's power being drained, spreading across the entire universe, worlds that were hit by the comet shards could have very strange results. The only way to fix it is to retrieve the shard which will restore the planet they landed in."
"I remember the elders mention something briefly about that when Sun and I were briefly trapped in the Twilight Cage after Dr. Starline brought us there so that he could open up a new gateway to fuel energy for Dr. Eggman to use." Star recalled, gazing up ahead. "They said that a great shooting star that passes by should not be shattered or have it's energy combined with another great power from many eons ago."
"(Ooh...I can't blame the Star-Beams for this, but they were born not just because Mama wanted us to have more company, but this year she decided to base on our new brothers and sisters from the Falling Star, the Lunina Comet you call it.) Yacker groaned in dismay, making everyone worry even further.
"I think it's obvious that Spirit really wasn't thinking of the consequences of his own wishes." Sun grumbled, and Speed nodded in agreement.
"Then we'd better find that shard and turn Sweet Mountain back to normal." Sonic declared with determination, narrowing his eyes.
"You think we can find it, Mr. Sonic?" Cream asked, hopefully.
The blue hedgehog smirked and despite that he was worried about the entire situation, he reassured with a slight joke. "Not to worry. This will be a piece of cake!"
Even as some of them groaned at the sixteen year old's joke, everyone agreed with the plan before Sonic off ahead while racing across the salary-stick bridge and into the Lettece forest, with the others not far behind, after Tails had locked up the Blue Typhoon so that nobody can steal it.
But as the group ventured through the place as Sonic took the lead, they were unaware of the dangers they were about to face, which was about to become very sour.
As the group of seven Mobians, five Wisps and one Chao ventured through what was supposed to be a place full of sugar, was not a mixture of more fast foods and healthy environments, plus other junk food that had salt in it, plus things that tasted sour. To Sonic, Tails and Yacker, it was like they ended up on the wrong planet and that this was a newly, total opposite discovered one that was a construct of what they had seen before.
"The energy readings is all over the place, it's almost 98% of the planet's surface and form having changed against it's will, but I can't fathom on how all of this happened besides the Lunina Comet's shard causing all of this." Tails analyzed as he scanned with his Miles Electric.
"I know that vegetables are good for you and healthy, but all of this and the giant junk food is way out of the picture of this place." Sonic remarked as they passed by the giant Broccoli Forest. "It's like we're in a giant farmer's patch or something."
"It almost like the Mushroom Zone on my island, only there aren't even any Mushrooms around." Knuckles admitted, the feeling of unease filling his senses and the air.
"(Mushroom Zone?)" Speed asked, raising an eye ridge in confusion.
"An area on Knuckles' giant floating island called Angel Island, and that said area is filled with a lot of kinds of giant mushrooms. It's a long story." The blue hedgehog shrugged with a soft chuckle. "Actually, the very key in making the island float is the Master Emerald."
"(Huh? No way!)" The cobalt Wisp exclaimed as he, Ghostly, Lily, Cutie and even Yacker were greatly stunned by this.
"Yeah, I couldn't believe it either 'til I first saw it for the first time. Thought I was dreaming when that happened." Sun smirked in amusement.
The Wisps were utterly amazed to hear this, but by remembering Knuckles' reaction on how the two male hedgehogs burrowed the Master Emerald, it was no wonder the red echidna was protective over it, even his overreaction was wrongly done so at the time like this crisis.
"I guess we shouldn't be too surprised with all the giant things we've seen in our lifetime, even if this place is amazing. Sweets or not." Amy stated, gazing around as she felt her stomach grumble a little. "I'm getting hungry just by looking at it."
"I think it's still amazing even it did change." Cream said softly, and while she was concerned and a bit disappointed that she wasn't going to see all the giant cakes and such just yet, she wasn't one to give up hope. "But if we find the shard, will Sweet Mountain return to normal?"
"If we find out what's caused this place to undergo a change of diet, then absolutely." Sonic promised with a smirk. "And I have a feeling we're gonna be finding out soon enough."
"You would think that the only main trouble we'd find is the naughty Wisps doing something similar to what they did back in Station Square." Star remarked, before glancing around uneasy. "I hate to say this, but I'm worried that we might end up encountering things like in the movies."
While most of the group looked scared or uneasy despite that Sun and Knuckles found that claim to be silly and/or ridiculous, the hero of Mobius shrugged despite that he felt uncomfortable while remembering his fight against the toy Lunina that took form of a giant Star-Marshmallow that, despite the trouble it caused, was still harmless compared.
"Star, if you're thinking what I'm thinking even though it's too silly even for this example, I think you've watched too much of that Plant-Monster movie." Sonic said carefully.
"Coming from a hedgehog who encountered giant moving toys in part of Scourge's world." The seventeen year old echidna scoffed.
The sixteen year old blue hedgehog rolled his eyes and responded. "In my defense, they were either robots in disguise or those things were possessed by evil ghosts."
Before the conversation could continue, the group suddenly heard a sound of unusual sloshing, unintelligible sounds that made them freeze in their tracks. Sonic quickly shushed his friends as he, Knuckles, Sun and the nervous but cautious Amy quickly kept their eyes and ears peeled, while Star had Cream and Cheese and the Wisps close, and Tails scanned around as he suddenly noticed unusual blips and red dots appear on the screen of the new Galactic Map he installed in his hand-held device.
"Uh, guys? I'm picking up readings of unusual things coming straight towards us...!" The nine year old cub muttered nervously with a sweat drop.
"Define unusual?" Sonic asked with a sweat drop of his own, on his guard.
Just as the group heard the sound of screaming and alien-like yells coming up ahead, they all gasped in shock before look around for the source of it along with the unusual sounds they heard just seconds ago.
"What was that?" Amy asked in alarm.
"Let's find out! Stay close!" The hero of Mobius instructed, quickly taking the lead with Tails and Knuckles following. Everyone else, Cutie, Ghostly, Cream and Cheese being completely nervous but knew they couldn't stand around doing nothing, did the same as they hurried to see what was going on while every single one of them dreaded for the worst.
When they reached to where the sounds were coming from, the sight they saw made them all yelped and gasped in horror when they saw a large horde of...moving food coming straight towards them! And they were all half-anthropomorphic, living pieces of food, from a Strawberry, to a Potato-Chip, to a Pumpkin, almost anything that made them now afraid. Because these new strange inhabits that Sonic, Tails and Yacker never had seen before looked pretty dangerous and angry, as though they were looking for revenge.
To make things worse, they were chasing after Wisps that were running away from them, though some of them were surprisingly fighting back with the Laser Wisps, Drill Wisps and Rocket Wisps using their abilities to fight and amazingly defeat the unusual monsters. Lasers, Drills and Rocket powers either zapping, drilling or blasting into the monsters who attempted to block them, but despite being surprisingly strong and skilled themselves, some were no match against such small but powerful aliens.
"Oh no!" Cream screamed in horror.
"FOOD MONSTERS!" Amy screamed in panic.
"You've gotta be kidding me!" Sun exclaimed, bewildered.
"(I DON'T REMEMBER THIS!)" Yacker exclaimed frantically.
Sonic, not knowing if this was real or not and that they were kind of stuck with a large horde that would put the lives of his friends and family in danger, narrowed his eyes before standing in fighting position.
"Me neither, but we gotta help and save those aliens!" The blue hedgehog declared, before he was quickly joined by Knuckles and Sun, and soon the pink hedgehog who, seeing the boys do this, summoned her Piko Piko Hammer.
"Hold this, and keep an eye on Cream and Cheese." Tails instructed Star while handing her his Miles Electric, the lavender hedgehog nodding and backing away with Cream and Cheese and the Wisps who, not knowing how to help, floated to protect the Mobians and Chao.
As the Food Monsters charged, Sonic and Sun both charged with Spin Dashs that knocked the first row of the sudden enemies to the ground like bowling pins, as Knuckles quickly bashed and punched more that charged forward, Amy knocked back one monster who crashed into five more, and Tails spun his namesakes and gave others a good hard kick. The hero of Mobius then leaped up and did a series of karate punches and kicks before performing his Homing Attack on another who, being an Apple, rolled and attempted to block his attack but the blue hedgehog was too strong for it and it was turned into self-made apple juice and disappeared.
Sun and Knuckles both did a double power-punch on a monster that looked like a giant bean and sending it back before it vanished, Tails did a Spin Dash on one that looked like an orange, and Amy smacked away a pine-apple monster. However, one Banana-Monster caught three White Wisps by surprise and held them within it's grasp and several more began to arrive.
While the Mobians including Star, Cream and Cheese who quickly found themselves being forced to defend themselves, with Star using her best gymastics and martial arts skills to keep the Pumpkin monsters away from the youngsters, Cream and Cheese joining forces with the little seven year old jumping and stomping onto another while rolling her Chao like a ball as he hit another mean Food Monster in the head which allowed Tails to kick at it to finish it off, more of the monsters that failed to stop them grabbed hold of the Wisps that also joined in the fight, much to the group's horror.
"Hey! Let them go!" Sonic demanded angrily, charging towards the monsters and while he hoped that he wouldn't end up accidentally hurting the aliens, the blue hedgehog Spin Dashed into the captors on the head which forced them to let go and he quickly scooped them into his arms before speeding away back to his group who still fought hard while the monsters, in pain and disappearing upon defeat, began to look even more angry.
"(Leave them alone, Fruit-Seeds!)" Speed shouted, charging himself as he, surprisingly to everyone else the moment Sonic got the other Wisps to safety, curled up into a ball himself and even Spin Dashed right into one of the monsters and knocked it back before flying back towards his friends.
"Whoa! Speed, did you just learn how to use Spin Dash from me and Tails?" The blue hedgehog asked the cobalt Wisps, thoroughly impressed and amazed, as were the others despite the situation they were in.
The Jumping-Wisp made a pose while feeling proud of himself, explaining. "(I learned from the awesome two heroes of the Universe.)"
Sonic couldn't help but chuckle, really liking the little fella so much. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're almost like an incarnation of me."
'Great, a Wisp version of Sonic. That's all we need.' Knuckles grumbled in his mind, rolling his eyes. One Sonic was bad enough, two Sonics in the White Space was almost unbearable, a robotic doppelganger of Sonic was a nightmare. Now a miniature little alien version of the blue hedgehog made him want to just go home and pretend this was all a dream.
Yet they weren't out of the woods yet, as even as the numbers were reducing, more monsters began to appear and more Wisps that were fighting with the combination of their own powers were struggling, which meant they had to do something fast. Sonic, despite not wanting to do this even as his friends fought the monsters as hard as he did even as he used his Homing Attack to hit them, came to a desperate idea.
"Think you can let me burrow your power, little guy?" The blue hedgehog asked the Laser Wisp who, unbeknownst to him was one of the aliens he saved three months ago, nodded.
"(Leave to me, Sonic!)" The cyan-alien nodded, and fused itself with the hero of Mobius who allowed it to enter his body.
"LASER!"
Turning into a laser, Sonic zipped and zig-zagged right into the Food Monsters who all twitched and struggled in pain and agony, dropping the cages of other Wisps who flew out for freedom and rejoined their already freed friends. The blue hedgehog used the combined speed of his own ability and the Laser Wisp within him to hit every single soldier monster, a good number of at least fifteen as some of them were defeated and fallen to the ground, surprisingly disappearing without a trace.
As he returned to normal, the sixteen year old, letting the Laser Wisp to get out of him, quickly bashed away the still recovering Food Monsters with his Homing Attack, Axe-Kicks and Karate punches before they had a chance to recover or even attack. Thankfully and surely enough, all of the monsters that attempted to capture the Wisps as well as the heroes the moment they came into the scene were all gone and everyone celebrated their victory, with Sonic and Tails sharing high-fives with the Wisps who squealed in relief and gathered around them, Amy, Knuckles, Sun, Star, Cream and Cheese, Yacker, Ghostly, Lily, Cutie and Speed who all sighed in relief as the former four Wisps also tried to help by leading the freed Wisps to safety during the battle, making the young group chuckle and giggled, or in Knuckles' case, just smirk.
"Is everybody alright?" Sonic asked immediately to the aliens who all nodded and babbled in gratitude. He smiled in relief and complimented. "Man, you all really packed a punch! I know fighting really isn't your thing, but you guys are really brave!"
The Wisps that fought against the monsters without much of a choice blushed and nuzzled against the blue hedgehog who laughed, the two-tailed fox who giggled and the girls who giggled and laughed and Cheese cheered while Sun and Knuckles gently patted two Wisps close by, which the little aliens enjoyed.
"(Thank you for helping and saving us. Those monsters were scary and tough!)" A Drill Wisp said in deep gratitude.
"Aw, it was nothin'. It's what we do." Sonic replied, smirking like he normally did, which then faded into a concerned frown and asked. "What happened? How did this place change, where did those monsters come from and why where they chasing and capturing you?"
"(We were all at home in our planet playing and everything, until we saw this funny light that took us all here and other planets.)" One of the White Wisps explained, looking quite sad and shaken, with two of the other White aliens hover over to comfort it.
"(Then as we were enjoying ourselves while we figured out we'd stay until the Jumpers would take us back home, this falling star, not as big as the Falling Star Mama told us about came falling from the sky, and then next thing we know, all of the sugar changed into what the world is now, while the remaining sugar came together and formed this giant Jelly Castle we saw our friends being taken to, and out from the other food that fell onto the ground, those monsters appeared, chasing us everywhere.)" A Laser Wisp continued.
"What!?" Sonic, Tails, Sun and Knuckles exclaimed in shock, while Amy, Star and Cream all gasped in horror, and Yacker, Cutie, Speed, Ghostly and Lily were speechless in horror.
"They already captured your friends and placed them into a Jelly Castle?" Tails exclaimed in disbelief and worry.
The Wisps that were saved all nodded solemnly.
"Looks like you were right, Tails. It's the power of the Lunina Comet Shard that's the cause of all of this." Sonic muttered, folding his arms. He then asked. "Any idea where the shard is or what else has happened?"
The Wisps all shared a glance while trying to remember if they saw anything else unusual related to this, before shaking their heads.
"Hmm...A giant Jelly Castle...Don't remembering seeing that before." The blue hedgehog sighed, dismissing the disappointment that they had no further leads apart from the fact that they had to find this castle made out of jelly.
Tails on the other hand thought differently as a theory came into mind. "The reason none of us remember the Jelly Castle is because it wasn't here before until now. It must be one of the areas of sugar that wasn't changed into it's counterparts but still had undergone a transformation, or perhaps this is were all the sugar of Sweet Mountain ended up going." Tails theorized, uneasily.
"Are you saying that all of the planet's sugar created this giant jelly castle with the other sweets?" Amy asked in disbelief.
"It's my theory, but it's plausible." He confirmed.
"So those monsters were created by the shards as well, like they're soulless puppets or robots. Is that it?" Sun asked, narrowing his eyes.
"It makes sense since they weren't here before and I don't think Sweet Mountain ever had any locals running around. Not counting Eggman since he rudely took it as an attraction for his stupid Amusement Park." Sonic stated, now even more concerned for the captured Wisps. "I'm more concerned about the aliens that are trapped within this castle caught by those monsters, and if we're right, the only way to stop them and turn this place back to normal is finding the shard, just like Tails said."
"Those poor Wisps are being captured by mean monsters...I hope they're okay." Cream muttered, worriedly.
"Hey, don't worry. We'll find them." The blue hedgehog reassured gently, turning to his friends despite that he couldn't blame them for being worried and/or frightened. "All we gotta do is find the Jelly Castle and get 'em out, and find the shard to turn the planet back to normal."
"Do any of you know where this castle is?" Knuckles asked the rescued and fighting Wisps who all nodded and pointed up ahead.
"(You have to be careful, though. There's a cliff up ahead and at the bottom is where the Jelly Castle is.)" The Laser Wisp cautioned with a firm expression.
"Okay, seeing that those monsters are here due to the Lunina Comet's shard some and how dangerous they are, we have to be careful with those things. We infiltrate the Jelly Castle to rescue our friends, and after that, we'll figure out where and how find that shard and take care of any of those Fast Food from moving." Sonic announced, knowing that the situation was getting a little too sticky for his taste-no puns intended.
"Sounds good to me." Sun shrugged, before shaking his head in disbelief. "But this is almost like the weirdest dream I've ever had."
"Yeah, well, this is the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me." Knuckles shrugged in exasperation.
Before anyone else could make a comment about what the orange hedgehog and red echidna said, just then Cutie, suddenly sensing something coming from behind them, turned around only to scream in fear, alerting all of her friends and two brothers who all spun around, with Cheese quickly noticing as well and squealed in terror as well. Cream noticed shortly after and her cry of panic made everyone else look up as well before they all yelped and gasped in horror when they saw more of the Food Monsters coming to them from the right, this time in forms of Pumpkins and Cucumber, lots of them, and they were charging with dangerous looks.
"THERE'S MORE COMING!" Tails exclaimed in horror.
Sonic immediately cried out while trying not to panic himself as he knew that they weren't ready for round 2. "We'd better get outta here quick! RUN!"
Run was what the group did as Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Cream and Cheese, Sun, Star, Yacker, Cutie, Speed, Ghostly, Lily and the other Wisps all screamed and hurried to get away from the angry mob of food that somehow appeared out of nowhere and none of them wanted to stand around to find out just yet as they were since they had just finished the battle around ten minutes ago. As the group ran for their lives, suddenly the ground below them gave way as they found themselves trapped at a cliff before they all ended up stumbling into each other despite attempting to stop but failed, and unable to keep their balance, fell screaming from the very high place, with the aliens flying down to help them.
The mob of food in the meantime, brought to life by the power of the Lunina Comet's Shard seeing their intruders gone while falling right into their, unknown to the heroes, trap, scattered across the world to find more Wisps to capture.
One minute Sonic and his friends were escaping from mysterious monsters that were made out of different kinds of food source, the next the moment they ran, they all fell off a cliff and screamed all the way down and even with Tails and Cream being able to fly and Knuckles being able to glide, and the Wisps knowing for flying anyway, they all tumbled down a hill of dried crackers, falling straight into a cookie trap door that opened up on the side of a large giant red jelly building, rolling down into the soft tunnel and emerged through a large room before they all came to a stop, landing hard on the ground that felt like something soft, squashy and a bit sticky but solid at the same time.
"Ugh...Man, that was crazy." Sonic grumbled, rubbing his head as he sat up. "I don't remember Sweet Mountain having any locals around here, unless they were hiding and were waiting for me, Tails and all of the aliens to leave the last time."
One by one, all of his friends sat up and began to regain their bearings, with Cream muttering as she whimpered. "That was so scary. It's like those monsters didn't like us."
"Chao..." Cheese whimpered.
"I've heard of many scary stories of giant food getting revenge, but I never believed in such silly things until now." Amy panted, still shaken from the unexpected ambush.
"I think I'm going to be having nightmares for weeks after this." Star shuddered.
"This must definitely be the power of the Lunina Comet's shard that's somehow did worse, meaning that the energy is more imbalanced than we thought." Tails said worriedly.
"That, or it's the combination of the aliens following Spirit's example of 'livening things up'." Sun said half-sarcastically.
"I wouldn't be surprised that it could be a combination of both." Knuckles shook his head, before saying firmly. "We should be worried about where we are and there might be more of those mutant-food sources running around."
The Wisps shuddered in fear while Yacker attempted to calm Cutie and Ghostly down, and both Lily and Speed shared glances, the latter shrugging cluelessly at his sister/friend.
"(But...where are we?)" The Jade-Ghost Wisp shivered fearfully.
As the group wondered where they were after recovering, Sonic noticed something was off and looked around before a sense of complete dread washed over him and his eyes widened in growing horror. While it looked pretty soft, somewhat safe and delicious, not to mention an actual part of Sweet Mountain, or so it looked like it, with the evidence of jelly all around the walls and floor save for the back wall and part of the ceiling which seemed to be made out of cookies and the bars made out of candy canes, licorish, and chocolate cookie straws of the small room he and his friends landed in, outside of room was similar with giant M&Ms decorated all over the place yet most of the walls were made out of red jelly, it was safe to say they were in further trouble.
"Guys...I think we've been lured right into a trap." Sonic began slowly and trying to mask the look and sound of fear on his face and in his voice, as he approached the bars of the sweets-cage-doors and grasped two of the bars.
The others looked up and instantly began even more panicked when they saw what he was talking about. Having fallen off the cliff, they all landed right into the cell of what they realized was a giant jelly castle with harder sweets used as doors and cells despite that it was impossible.
"We must be in the cell of the Jelly Castle, just like these Wisps we helped out said." Tails theorized, uneasily.
All of the aliens flinched and some began to whimper in fear as everyone else gasped in shock before looking around.
"I can't believe they caught us like that! Those stupid monsters!" Amy hissed in alarm and anger, clutching her fists to try and not let loose of her temper.
"They locked us up like we're criminals!" Cream began to softly cry, making the two female hedgehogs quickly attempt to comfort her, even as both Ghostly and Cutie also began to sob.
"Hey, don't cry. We'll get outta here." Sonic reassured gently, turning to his friends despite that he couldn't blame them for being frightened. Deep down he blamed himself for ending up going into the path of a cliff instead of turning, but he'd been pretty scared too. He just wished he'd paid more attention.
But as the blue hedgehog made to break the bars off since they were made of sweets, to his shock as he yelped in fright along with everybody else, outside of their cell were approaching three Food Monsters that stood about the same height as a tall human man, one a bulky Peanut, the second an angry looking Cherry, and third a smug-looking corn-cob, the trio standing in front of the group's prison and to their horror, holding more captured Wisps who were locked up inside cages made out of grape-sticks.
"Oh no! They captured more Wisps!" Tails exclaimed in dismay.
"Thanks for pointing out the obvious!" Knuckles grunted, shocked and furious at the sight of this.
"Hey! Not cool! Let them go!" Sonic demanded the three monsters, preparing to attack when the smug-corn held up a hand and wagged it's finger at him, making the sixteen year old even more furious himself. It then snapped it's leafy-fingers as the Monster-Peanut opened up the door before punching him in the gut, sending him backwards while screaming and hit the floor once more.
"Sonic!" Amy cried out as she and the others hurried to his side.
"Are you okay?" Tails asked, worriedly while his adoptive hedgehog brother sat up before standing.
The Cherry-Monster glared before opening the cage and forcing the defeated Wisps inside, and Sonic made to try and get out, but the other two closed it shut and locked the door once again, forcing the blue hedgehog to skid to a stop. He, Sun, Knuckles and Amy all hissed while Tails, Star, Yacker, Ghostly, Cutie, Cream and Cheese quickly tended to the newly imprisoned and terrified Wisps while the rest of the aliens with them, including Speed and Lily who glared at their captors, all saw that their friends were perfectly alright. Yacker then hovered towards the bars and floated next to the hero of Mobius, while speaking out to the three monsters that kept them locked up against their will.
"(Why are you doing this? Please, let us out. We only want to save this planet and our friends.)" Yacker spoke, a hint of pleading and anger in his voice, which the WCS devices translated.
While the Peanut-Monster just scoffed and the Cherry-Monster just slammed it's first against the cell's doors which made the curl-headed Wisp jump in fright before Sonic stood in front of his friend to shield him, the Corn-Monster made an intelligible laughter before speaking in sloshy, gibberish words which none of the heroes or their friends could understand, and even Tails' latest invention was unable to translate on what these things were saying since they were only built to understand Wisp language. Although the aliens seem to understand and were quite shocked and horrified.
"(Oh no!)" Cutie exclaimed in horror.
"What's wrong, Cutie?" Star asked, worriedly.
"(They're saying we're not allowed to leave this castle.)" The yellow-haired Wisp shivered, surprising the Mobians and Chao, causing them to gaze at her while Yacker continued to conversation, and he too was horrified.
"You can understand what they're saying?" The sixteen year old blue hedgehog asked, blinking.
"(For some reason, yeah. Maybe it's to do with the Falling Star, since it isn't easy picking up another language from species outside of home.)" A Rocket Wisp admitted.
As Yacker continued to try and reason with the monsters, the Corn-Monster continued speaking with it's two allies standing by it's sides with their arms crossed with angry or stone-faced expressions.
"(The middle one's saying that they rule this world, and anyone who attempt to come here will be theirs for taking, theirs to force to stay forever, theirs to keep. They're going to keep us here and do what they want with us. Because their master says so.)" Speed translated each of what the Corn-Monster was saying, terrifying everyone else including himself the more their captor spoke in gibberish.
"And who is your master?" Sonic, getting the picture, demanded the captors.
The Corn-Monster spoke in more icky words and the Wisps all shivered, with Yacker translating this time. "(He says that their master is their god who sees fit to what he decides with us. They were created a few hours ago but already think they know who they want to keep as their possessions.)"
"Well, you can tell your master that we're not here to stay. We've got friends and worlds to rescue. You can't keep us here!" The blue hedgehog argued as gently as possible. "Please, let us go. This is important."
But the response he got was the Monsters simply bringing out a giant bar of chocolate the same height and length as the cell's doors and to his and everyone else's horror, shock and dismay, the trio outside shoved it right in front of their only way out and despite Sonic's protests and his friends and family's cries to be let out, the Cherry and Peanut monsters barricaded their cell by gluing it to the walls with icing sugar to make it stick, and the Corn-Monster laughing monstrously.
"Hey! Let us out! Let us out!" Sonic screamed as he banged on the giant chocolate wall, joined by Tails, the other aliens, Sun and Knuckles as they too protested to be let out. "This isn't fair!"
"Please, let us go! You can't keep us locked up like this!" Tails pleaded.
"You'd better let us out, or else! I'm warning you!" Sun shouted angrily as the urge to simply just Spin Dash into the wall and give the monsters a piece of his mind quickly accelerating.
"(Let us out, please!)" Yacker pleaded, as Cream, Cutie and Ghostly along with a few other Wisps looked ready to cry, and Amy(who was now furious by the treatment the monsters were giving to everyone), Star and Lily attempted to comfort them as much as possible.
"Grrr...! That does it! Out of my way!" Knuckles growled impatiently, pushing the others beside him backwards and declared. "Let me take care of this!"
Sonic, realizing what his friend was about to do and knowing that there was only one way out of this now, narrowed his eyes. "Looks like we're gonna have to do this the hard way. I'm going too!"
"Not without me you guys are not." Sun declared, cracking his knuckles as he has had enough of the treatment.
"Tails, everybody, stand back." The hero of Mobius ordered, and his little brother nodded before he and the Wisps hurried back to the rest of the group, none of them knowing that the Laser, Drill and Rocket Wisps were sharing glances before nodding with narrowed eyes of determination themselves, deciding to help the three teenage Mobians that were about to get them out of the cell.
Sonic went for a Homing Attack, while Sun went for a powerful kick and Knuckles used his powerful punch, all three of them smashing both the cell's doors and the giant chocolate wall that trapped them even more into pieces, making a huge hole which alerted the three Food Monsters who, the noise of their prisoners blocked out due to having sealed the cell, paused in their steps and turned around to see sweets and chocolate come flying out, and the three Mobians raced before turning to glare at the guards who were shocked to see their prisoners having escaped, the blue hedgehog in the middle. The monsters glared back.
"Sorry guys, but it'll take more than a chocolate wall to keep us!" Sonic declared as he, Sun and Knuckles stood ready to fight. "We're gonna turn you into Peanut Butter..."
"And Popcorn..." Sun continued with a hint of warning in his tone.
"And Cherry Pie!" Knuckles concluded, bashing his fists together.
Before the trio could attack as the guards were about to charge at them, the Laser Wisp, Drill Wisp and Rocket Wisp quickly joined them while saying to the surprised Mobians. "(Let us help you guys by lending you our power, Sonic, Sun and Knuckles!)"
"Huh!?" Sonic, Sun and Knuckles exclaimed in bewilderment. Amy, Star, Cream and Cheese were greatly surprised by this while the other Wisps, wondering if two of Sonic's friends could handle burrowing the Hyper-Go-Ons like the blue hedgehog could, knew that the three aliens were really brave to do so.
"Well...if that's the case, then I'm okay with that. Just do easy on Sun and Knucklehead, alright?" The hero of Mobius agreed, with a hint of hesitation.
"What? You serious?" Knuckles demanded, suddenly uneasy about this.
"Sonic, none of us have done this sort of thing before." Sun pointed out, just as uncomfortable. "What are we supposed to do?"
"Just try not to resist it. Just go with the flow, focus on the energy you're burrowing, and think of nothing else but one thing of the power. Or put it more simply, speak with your heart." Sonic advised and encouraged, knowing that his brother and friend had never done this before, and back then he had been scared at his first experience of it, but had gotten used to it despite still fearing of over-using the Wisps' powers even today.
Despite the hesitation his two friends felt, Sun and Knuckles nodded to give it a try just as the monsters were charging with the Corn-Monster roaring and the Peanut and Cherry hollering.
"Here we go!" Sonic declared as he and his two companions stood ready, while the Wisps flew right into their chosen selected partners to help; The Laser went inside Sonic, the Drill Wisp going into Sun, and the Rocket flowing into Knuckles' body.
While the hero of Mobius knew what to do, both Sun and Knuckles felt the strange, unusual and alien energy flow inside them which made the duo wince a little in discomfort, but then felt what Sonic was talking about. It reminded them both of the familiar Chaos and, in the tangerine hedgehog's case, Cosmos Sapphire, energies, reminding them of the lights only the energy of the Hyper-Go-Ons felt lighter, and each of them felt different feelings and focused on those on their sixteen year old friend's advise, and then burst into what he would usually do.
"LASER!"
"DRILL!"
"ROCKET!"
The three of them all transformed into the different forms of power, Sonic zipping straight into the Corn-Monster and bashing and zapping it with the burrowed Laser ability, causing it to scream and try to catch him but couldn't, Sun spinning and drilling into the Peanut-Monster who tried to block it but was bashed and drilled repeatedly, much to it's horror, and Knuckles shooting straight forward in a powerful rocket form, blasting right into the Cherry-Monster who attempted to block him, yet was blasted away almost instantly.
"Yeah, go Sonic!" Tails and Amy both cheered.
"Keep going, Sun!" Star cheered.
"Give it to 'em, Knuckles!" Cream couched excitedly, as Cheese and the rest of the Wisps cheered on for their friends.
It only took about maybe seven minutes before the two hedgehogs and one echidna finally defeated the three Monsters who didn't stand a chance despite being taller than them, and yet now they disappeared completely. Once their opponents were defeated, Sonic, Knuckles and Sun returned to normal with three Wisps flying out of their chests, and while the blue hedgehog gave each of them a thumbs-up with a smirk and the alien trio reflexed their arms while hovered proudly, the other two Mobians swayed a little at the unusual experience.
"Man...That's the craziest thing I've ever done and I was just born almost six months ago!" Sun muttered, shaking his head which he placed his right hand onto his forehead.
"I felt like I was about to blow up or something..." Knuckles groaned, feeling a little nauseous after being briefly turned into a rocket form. He then asked the blue hedgehog, "Sonic, how do you manage to cope with doing all of that?"
"You kinda get used to it after a little while. Trust me, it took me virtually a whole day in getting the hang of letting the cute aliens in letting me burrow their Hyper-Go-Ons." Sonic shrugged apologetically to the guardian of the Master Emerald, just as the rest of the group hurried to join up with them.
"Sonic! My hero!" Amy cheered happily as she glomped into her boyfriend who yelped a little and despite that she still hugged him too tightly, he smiled and returned the embrace, relieved that his girlfriend, little brother, little sister-like-figure, and the rest of his friends were all safe and they were all out and free from the cell.
"Hey, I didn't do it by myself, Ames." Sonic pointed out, before blinking in confusion as Yacker, while relieved that they were all out, then hovered forward in front of him and the others. "Huh? Yacker?"
The curl-headed Wisp said nothing, and instead he held out a tentacle before glowing, much to the confusion of the heroes and Chao as they wondered what he was doing. He closed his eye and focused hard on a special ability only Wisps were capable of doing.
"What's Yacker going?" Sonic asked the other Wisps.
"(He's sensing the Hyper-Go-On from other Wisps that are still trapped in this Jelly Castle somewhere.)" Lily answered. "(Mama told us that to find where our family is, and if our powers are combined with another in surrounding places, we need to focus on our energy to reach out to them.)"
"Really?" The blue hedgehog asked as he and the others were quite stunned by this new development. "So how come it didn't work the last time?"
"I think it's because Eggman was focusing on draining the Wisps' Hyper-Go-Ons that they didn't combine their powers with anything else. In your case, Sonic, your connection with them was only brief, not even when you used the Chaos Emeralds since there was no side effects when they allowed you to borrow their powers." Tails theorized once more.
"(Mama also said that even with the Hyper-Go-Ons combined with the Falling Star's magic, if anybody with a pure heart and having the power to drive away negativity can go up against it easily.)" Cutie piped up with a glimmer of hope.
"Wow, that sounds amazing!" Cream thought, despite feeling scared but relieved that they were out of the cell but worried about the other Wisps inside this giant Jelly Castle.
"I see. So with these aliens around and the shard having fallen from the Lunina Comet's shard, these monsters are half-attracted to them." Star realized.
Yacker, having finished sensing the power, shuddered before hovering over to the others and informed them while having also heard on what was said. "(You're right, Star. But there's trouble because somehow there's already part of the Hyper-Go-On attached to the shard itself. The one who ended up combining their Hyper-Go-On with the Star Comet's Shard somehow changed this place and...something more horrible which resulted in creating these monsters, and they have already captured some of our brothers and sisters and locking them up somewhere in this place.)"
"No..." Sonic whispered in horror, after he and the others gasped in dismay. His heart hanged heavily in terror and guilt, the realization that the Wisps were now being put into danger because of Spirit's ideas that were increasingly dangerous and reckless.
"(Not only that, I have a feeling that the monsters who aren't really alive and part of the wish that can be broken if we find the shard and they will disappear.)" The curl-headed Wisp continued.
Despite the feeling of guilt that conitnued to grow, the hero of Mobius narrowed his eyes with determination as he declared. "Then we'd better find them and get out of this castle, then we'll worry about finding the shard. We also have to watch out for the monsters' big boss, especially since he's been brought to life and I have a feeling he's bigger than the guys we took out."
Almost everyone agreed until Cheese noticed something and squeaked, prompting Cream to look before she giggled, confusing her friends.
"Why are you laughing, Cream?" Tails asked, confused.
"I think all of the excitement has made our new friends very hungry." The seven year old girl said, pointing up which made her friends to also notice and blinked when they saw at least fifteen of the Wisps distracted and now happily eating at the broken pieces of the chocolate wall, the candy canes, licorish, and chocolate cookie straws bars as well as parts of the walls, both jelly and cookies with the M&Ms, some of them getting chocolate on their faces, making the girls giggle at the silly sight and Sonic and Tails chuckle softly.
"(Wow, that sure looks pretty yummy!)" Lily remarked, her eyes twinkling a little.
"I would rather go for grapes." Knuckles waved dismissively.
"It would be alright if there were a giant cheeseburger." Sun said half-jokingly.
"Make that a giant Chili Dog for me." Sonic jokingly added, before saying seriously. "But still, with all of these monsters around, it's gonna be tricky in finding that shard and we still need to rescue the rest of the aliens that are trapped in here. I'd hate to disappoint our buddies, but we'd better get moving and get out of this castle."
With that thought in mind, after eventually getting the hungry Wisps to stop eating, much to their disappointment before they were reminded of the situation they were in, Sonic and his friends hurried to race down the Jelly corridor to the left since the right had a dead end to find the remaining trapped Wisps as much as possible and leave before the monsters would capture them all again.
A/N: With changes of this chapter, the adventure in Sweet Mountain will continue in the next chapter. I wanna give a big thanks to TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3 who helped me with the ideas of how to re-do these chapters as well as ideas on how the setting of the Jelly Castle will go. Hopefully this chapter was better than the original fourth chapter, and I'll do my best with the fifth one that hopefully won't take as long. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
