Author's Note: Again, sorry for the long wait, but I've been pretty stuck on writer's block, but finally a new chapter of Sonic and the Return of the Wisps is here!

Chapter 6: Sweet and Fresh Trouble.
Back on Sweet Mountain's transformed state, Team Sonic were racing straight towards the giant Watermelon Mountain in hopes of finding a clue of the Shard's location as well as figuring out how to return the planet back to normal. The blue hedgehog and his friends leaped and jumped from one food cliff to another and taking out or avoiding more of the Food Monsters with the aid of Speed who let copied some of Sonic's moves, and Ghostly who used her powers to help the hero of Mobius get through the tougher parts and open up new pathways for the rest of the group to get through. The four Mobians and two Wisps made it to the top of a giant orange and looked around.
"Man, I really miss the sweetness of this place. I remember running around on the giant cake paths looking for the generator." Sonic remarked, shielding his eyes with his hand.
"I remember all of the delicious sweet foods this world had. First time we came here really made me hungry." Tails stated, gazing around as he spoke.
"Yeah, and I was looking forward in seeing that giant bowl of Ice Cream again. It was great for snowcone boarding." The blue hedgehog added, smiling as he recalled that time when he unexpectedly landed in the giant bowl of ice cream during his search for clues as well as rescuing aliens from Eggman's Interstellar Amusement Park.
Flash-Back: During the events of "Sonic and the Power of the Wisps"...
As Sonic stared at the remains of the robot, he noticed one part of it looked large enough to act like a snowboard for him to ride on, and suddenly he had an idea. He grinned excitedly.
"Perfect." He muttered to himself.
Taking the broken piece of metal, Sonic positioned it onto the ice cream and after a mental countdown, he dipped forward and began snowboarding, or rather, ice-cream-boarding down the mountain of the frozen treat as though he was on a mountain of ice cream...which wasn't far from the truth.
"WOOO HOOOOOOOOO!" He hollared happily, having tons of fun. Sonic then saw he was nearing the edge and being the daredevil that he was, he leaped and jumped with the metal still underneath him, and he sent himself flying over while performing mid-air stunts with his makeshift board.
End of Flash-Back:
"Man, that was fun. I hope we'll have a bit of time to explore the real Sweet Mountain once everything here goes back to normal." The hero of Mobius muttered, smirking over the memory. "Not to mention the vanilla ice cream itself was really tasty, too. Makes me wanna have some right about now."
"But the one thing you don't miss is the giant oven factory you told us about, right?" Knuckles stated with his arms crossed to his chest, which made the younger teenage Mobian cringe over the reminder and shuddered slightly, earning sympathetic and slightly fearful looks from both Tails and Sun while Speed and Ghostly both looked confused as they glanced at each other, wondering what the red echidna meant with the blue hedgehog.
"Ugh, that's something I really wanna forget." The sixteen year old rubbed his arms, mentally gulping as the unfortunate memories came flooding back. "Worse part is, I wasn't in a great shape when I started hallucinating. Even in my head, that Werehog still wanted to eat me."
"(Huh? What are they talking about?)" Ghostly asked, starting to become a bit worried.
"(No clue.)" Speedy shrugged, just as puzzled as his sister.
Realizing that the two Wisps were clueless on this due to not having existed three months ago, Sonic and his friends shared a glance before sweat dropping worriedly, more than a little uncomfortable for revealing such details over the blue hedgehog's guilt-trip he had suffered for two months since the Dark Gaia crisis. Which, given the circumstances, as Tails told them briefly that it was a long story, the hero of Mobius gazed at the two adorable before remembering meeting more of their kind around a month after saving the universe from Eggman and the corrupted Nega-Mother Wisp.
Sonic thought back to his and Tails' day-visit to Planet Wisp while reuniting with Yacker and their other alien friends, making new friends with the newly born little aliens and getting to fully know the gentle giant mother. He remembered when the newer Wisps bonded with him and his little brother to the point that they wanted them both to stay on their planet for the rest of their lives despite Yacker and the other Wisps informing them that they shouldn't be so forceful.
Flash-Back: Two weeks after the events of "Sonic and the Curse of the Sun Stone"...
"I guess some of these little guys don't want us to leave, huh?" Sonic remarked, scratching the top of his head as he felt a bit guilty when he saw tears in the young Wisps' eyes.
"They don't." Tails translated as he recorded everything the aliens were saying. "The newer Wisps are upset since we have to go home. Yacker, the other Wisps and ther mother are trying to reassure them that it wasn't goodbye forever and they're trying to make them understand that we can't stay here for the rest of our lives."
"But they don't want that?" The blue hedgehog asked.
"Nope. They want us to stay here forever and not leave. They want to keep us here so that they can play with us all the time." The two-tailed kit confirmed.
"Aw, man...Poor little guys." The hero of Mobius sighed, and while he felt even more guilty, he didn't want himself or his best friend/little brother to be kept here as pets or toys just because the 'baby' Wisps were being very fussy. He just hoped that they wouldn't persuade the rest of the Wisps including the giant mother in forcing the two Mobians to stay.
That was scary, no matter how cute the Wisps were, which the younger aliens were making this like Sonic and Tails were actually kidnapped and forced to stay here for the rest of their lives.
Fortunately, the older Wisps had no intention of doing so, as Yacker shook his head more firmly. "#$%#. $ $% $% $%$."
"&^%$&$#! #*%& & $^%^#* *^%^#^%! (No, no, no! They can't leave! We want them to be with us forever!)" The young red-spiky headed Wisp protested while shaking it's head. It then flew straight towards Sonic and was clinging on his arm, nuzzling it's face on his skin. "##$ %%$? #$% #%%##? (Please, can't they stay? Why do they have to go home?)"
"##$% $$#%%%$!(Make them stay with us forever and ever!)" The other younger Wisps pleaded, hovering around the two Mobians who began to feel uncomfortable with sweat drops.
"Yacker's saying no, we can't stay here. But the little ones are pleading them to keep us here, pleading Yacker and their mother to make us stay with them forever and ever." The eight year old kit explained.
"$%#$ $. $%* $#$^%^, #$%& &^#%* $#% #^%#^%%* &^%^%, #$&^ ^$*%& ^ %%^#* $^%*# ^$^ % !&$*%#^#%$%*#^!%&$#^%* &$(Now, children. We know you want them to stay, but we can't force them. It is not right to make Sonic and Tails stay here against their will. They are like all of us; living beings with their own freedom and families. If we do, then we are no better than that horrible man who captured us before most of you were born.)" The Mother Wisp explained wisely, as gently but firm as possible, to which Tails translated, even as the younger Wisps looked heart-broken and about to burst into tears.
Sonic, realizing only he could make them understand, sighed before he began to the younger Wisps. "Don't cry, little guys. Look, I'm very sorry, but Tails and I can't stay here. It's like your family said, we have our own planet to go back to."
The young Wisps all looked tearfully at the blue hedgehog who sighed once more, holding a sad smile of his own.
"I know you don't wanna stay goodbye, and we're both sad to leave too, but you have to understand. We all have our own families and friends in both worlds, and really, you don't wanna be like that awful man Baldy McNosehair. You shouldn't force people to do just what you want do. You gotta respect each other's feelings and while it is hard to say goodbye, there's a part of us that stay behind in one place we are all born with and that's our hearts." The blue hedgehog explained, gently tapping at a Jumping Wisp's chest carefully, surprising all of the little ones.
"$%^?" The cobalt alien squeaked.
"And hey, it's not like we won't be seeing each other again. We can visit each other, and have more fun times someday soon. Sometimes we can't get what we always want, but we can't cry over it. In the end, friendship means caring for one another, sharing fun times and experiences and having fun in just hanging out, but everybody has families. Like you guys have each other. Me and Tails will come back for another visit. I promise." Sonic continued in a comforting warm smile.
With Yacker and Mother Wisp sighing in relief and telling the younger Wisps that the blue hedgehog always keeps his promises, the young aliens, still wishing for him and the two-tailed fox to stay, realized quickly that they were sounding selfish in forcing the two Mobians to stay against their will, before they flew and hugged the two who returned the embrace, all of them having tears while the two were doing their best to comfort them, while the 'babies' were now feeling guilty for what they wanted.
"They said their sorry for not understanding our feelings." Tails translated, while gently rubbing a light-yellow Wisp's head.
"It's okay. You're all still young and still learning. Learning is part of life too." Sonic reassured warmly, as Yacker and the other Wisps joined in while the giant Mother beamed warmly at the scene before scooping up all of them in two giant tentacles which made the two brothers yelp in fright at first, then realized that she was giving them a gentle but firm embrace as well, which they smiled and returned.
End of Flash-Back:
Even though things had turned out okay, now Sonic was beginning to think that because of his heroic deeds, the younger aliens so wanted to see him so badly that their idolization towards him has gotten into their heads that like some crazy fans back on Mobius, they wanted to hang around him without being him amount of freedom and space, and while he did open up his heart to Amy, spending more time with her, and having spending more time with Tails and everybody else as much as possible, he was still a free spirit.
'Maybe this whole thing really is all my fault. If I had done something sooner, Spirit wouldn't have done this. But...what would have meant if Eggman was still alive? Would everything that happened three weeks ago be even worse?' Sonic thought to himself, lowering his gaze as his ears drooped.
Well, he knew one thing; sure if he had prevented the evil scientist from kidnapping all of the planets for his Interstellar Amusement Park, then the Wisps would have been safe. Yet if Sonic had done that, not only would Eggman still be alive, and Mobius would have been in bigger danger, then he would have teamed up with his alternate, Robotnik-self along with Scourge and even Pachamac, finding a way to control both the Time Eater as well as Cormain and then...it would have been ten times as bad.
Plus, would Sonic have recovered from his two month guilt dilemma? Probably not. It took all of his friends including the hallucination of Chip to help the blue hedgehog find it within his heart to forgive himself.
'It's not fair. Even with him gone, he still manages to make people's lives hard and miserable, and now some of the most sweet and gentle aliens are turning against their own people, their own family and friends, their own mother...just to try and get to me and Tails.' The hero of Mobius sighed, placing his hand over his face to try and calm down as he didn't want to go through another guilt-ridden episode.
"Sonic? Sonic, are you okay?" Tails spoke up, causing the blue hedgehog to blink and turn to his best friend/little brother who, along with Sun, Knuckles, Speed and Ghostly, looked at him worriedly.
"Uh...Y-yeah. Just...thinking, is all. I just hope that everything will be sorted out by the end of this. I really, really don't want the Wisps to turn against each other over me or anybody else. They lived in happiness for a long time before Egghead showed up...and I failed to figure it out and stop him on time." Sonic admitted, looking away as he didn't want his brothers and friends to see him upset again.
He went through the embarrassment of crying in front of the people he loved so much during his adventures in the last several months, even in White Space. The cobalt speedster knew that he had to get over that as he never cried so much before the whole mess with the world splitting up started. He was sixteen years now, for crying out loud!
"Hey..." Sun began, placing a comforting hand on his brother's shoulder as the orange hedgehog and the others, save for the two new Wisps who didn't know much, but still felt very concerned for Sonic. "It wasn't your fault. Don't bring yourself down over this, alright?"
"He's right. As much as I hate to admit it, this is a minor problem compared to all we've been through." The guardian of the Master Emerald agreed, smiling surprisingly softly. "Plus without Eggman around, it's a lot easier now."
"And as long as we figure out how to get Spirit to understand that he's making a mistake, it's not too late. We just need to find the Lunina Comet's Shards, return Sweet Mountain back to normal and save the Wisps like we did the last time." Tails agreed optimistically.
While he still felt worried and guilty over this, Sonic smiled emotionally for the support from his best friends which began to heal his heart once more. They were right; compared to all of their previous adventures, including some of his own solo adventures he went through in the past, this would be a cinch this time.
"Thanks, guys. You're the best." Sonic replied, feeling like hugging them but decided that they can worry about being mushy again later. He then smirked as he felt his determination and old self return, pounding his fist into his opened palm. "With all of us together and Amy, Star, Yacker, Lily, Cutie, Cream and Cheese, this will be a piece of cake!"
"No pun intended, right?" Sun questioned sarcastically which made Sonic and Tails laugh, while Speed and Ghostly shared another confused look and Knuckles just sweat dropped with a deadpanned expression, not finding the sarcastic comment funny at all.
Just then, a dim flash of light shone from the sky which made the group to suddenly look up and saw kind kind of shooting star heading towards somewhere close by. The two hedgehogs, the two-tailed fox, the red echidna, and the two Wisps gaped in shock as the shooting star crashed landed alarmingly close to their destination.
"What the?" Knuckles muttered, his eyes wide in shock.
"Another shooting star?" Sun asked, dumbfounded.
"(I'm a little scared...that doesn't look like the Falling Star from before, but it feels kind of familiar, but...really bad...)" Ghostly muttered, hovering close to Speed who narrowed his eyes.
"(Yeah, I'm getting a bad feeling about this.)" The cobalt Wisp agreed, more bravely while determined to stay close to his sister and friends.
"What's going on?" Sonic murmured, feeling a sense of dread creeping up even further. He hoped that it wasn't too serious, before a terrible thought formed in his mind as memories of Black Doom appeared, except the Black Arms had been completely destroyed. Cormain was gone, and while he felt terrible for them, the Octosaurs were really kind despite their terrifying appearances and attitudes, they would remain trapped in the Prison of Evil to keep everything in order to prevent evil from returning, and restrain the Executioner from blindly feasting on anyone and anything.
'Oh no...What if there are other evil forces out there catching wind on this? What if they're...what if they're using Spirit's desires like Black Doom tried to use Shadow? Oh, Chaos...! Please don't let there be more evil aliens!' The blue hedgehog thought, trying to stop himself from panicking.
"AHHH! GUYS!" Tails suddenly cried out as he looked over his shoulder, alarming his friends who looked and flinched in panic as they saw more food monsters, this time a couple of bananas, five crackers, and three Guavas who all glared angrily at the four Mobians and two cute Wisps.
"Uh-oh...!" The hero of Mobius half-whispered scaredly as he and his friends all sweat dropped.
True to their predictions, the monsters pushed hard at the giant orange that the four heroes were standing on with ease and then Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Sun began to roll while trying to keep their balance, with the enormous fruit now rolling down with them on top. The four of them screamed as they tried not to fall off, much to the horror of Speed and Ghostly with the latter screaming.
"(OH NO!)" Ghostly exclaimed, trying to frantically think of a way on how to save them.
"(Sonic! Tails! Knuckles! Sun! Hang on, guys!)" Speed cried out, already flying after the group who tried hard not to fall off and end up squashed flat like pancakes.
"(W-Wait for me, Speed!)" The Jade-Ghost Wisp called out, flying after her brother to try and save their new friends, narrowly avoiding in getting captured by the food monsters who gave chase to capture the two Wisps and bring them back to the Jelly Castle.
In the meantime Team Sonic screamed and panicked while trying their hardest not fall off as the giant orange rolled with them running backwards yet were they still going forward.
"I love going fast, but this isn't the sort of thing I had in mind!" Sonic exclaimed.
"We never should have remained standing on an object that's reliable to move easily!" Tails cried out, almost losing his balance once or twice.
"You think!?" Knuckles grunted, flailing his arms as he went.
"This is the most ridiculous ride I've ever been on! And I thought being on a plane with Vector was a nightmare!" Sun cried out.
"Try being in a space-ship with Knuckles driving! Trust me, that's even worse!" The sixteen year old blue hedgehog advised, much to the seventeen year old echidna's chargin. No one was ever going to let the older Mobian live that down.
To make things worse as they were nearing a small trench, something red, large and oddly familiar emerged from the ground as the heroes realized that they were heading towards the Watermelon Mountain. What they saw was a large alien like creature had thick arms and legs, sharp red nails, six tiny eyes with liver-lips, about human sized but still quite big as it seemed to be rubbing his hea and looked around as though wondering where it was. The face though, despite the eyes, shocked the tangerine former Werehog as he and the others gasped in shock.
"Huh? That can't be...Zomom!?" Sun's eyes widened in disbelief. The new alien looked similar to one of the three deadly Zeti's, only this guy was read and had six eyes, not two.
"Zomom!? I thought you said that fat guy was yellow and Zavok was red!" Sonic cried out, his own eyes widening in shock as they got closer and closer.
"I did! That guy was all eat and no serious brain!" The orange hedgehog protested.
"Uh...Speaking of eating...!" Tails began fearfully while Knuckles gulped.
When the two hedgehogs looked, they saw that the red Zomom look-alike didn't move when it or he or she or whatever saw them approach rolling out of control on the giant orange, instead the red new alien's eyes widened before it's mouth opened...and shockingly enlarged itself like a giant vaccum, yet there was no wind or force sucking them in, but it merely waited for the orange to roll inside, with the four Mobians still on top of it. They all gasped in horror as they realized that they were going to be eaten alive!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Sun all screamed in panic and fear, as they couldn't even jump without falling off and unless they were lucky enough to fall backwards...
Before neither of them could unknowingly finish their shared thoughts, the guardian of the Master Emerald slipped and fell backwards, followed by Sun, Tails and Sonic who all yelped and they miraculously fell off just as Speed and Ghostly, seeing this and gasped in horror over the mysterious new alien that was different from their own kind, flew over and used their powers to create a sphere of energy that slowed their Mobian friends' descend as they found themselves floating down safely. The giant orange in the meantime rolled right into the enlarged mouth of the red Zomom look-alike who slammed it shut, the mouth shrinking back to normal and gulped the huge fruit down where it somehow shrank easily.
As Sonic and his friends landed gently on the ground, they, Speed and Ghostly who dismissed their combined power all stared at the new sudden threat in horrified disbelief, each of them starting to turn pale in fear when the red alien monster then noticed them.
"Uh...Is it possible for Zetis to do that sort of thing?" Sonic nervously asked.
"No..." Sun and Tails both shook their heads in terror.
"Hmmm...Thought so. In that case..." The blue hedgehog then stood up quickly, grabbing hold of Tails and Sun by the wrists while the latter took hold the Knuckles' wrist, while the two-tailed fox held both Speed and the hysterically panicking Ghostly in his free arm and Sonic began running away as he screamed. "RUN!"
The cobalt hedgehog sped off straight towards the Watermelon Mountain to escape the Zomom-like alien who, upon seeing them after licking it's lips at the sweetness of the giant orange(without peeling off the outer layer), just stood there with a confused expression while wondering why the Mobians and the Wisps were running away in fear.
Meanwhile, the food monsters, that were approaching their targets but saw them escape once more, skid to a stop when they saw the new mysterious alien who, seeing them, lit up it's face as it licked it's lips once more in anger. The two bananas, five crackers, and three Guavas all sweat dropped despite not being really alive, and began to make a run for it. Unfortunately for them, the Zomom look-alike gave chase in half the speed as Sonic's and enlarged it's mouth before jumping up high and descended, engulfing the food monsters that couldn't escape. It shrank it's mouth back to normal while munching happily and then swallowed the food, rubbing it's belly.
"Mmmm...Tasty." The Zomom look-alike spoke in a deep male voice, before he looked around and saw a giant non-monster banana near by. His eyes lit up like stars before running straight towards it to enjoy it's treat.
Sonic and his friends kept on running out of fear and hoping that they were almost at their destination, hoping that the Zomom look-alike monster-alien wasn't chasing them.
"Is it after us!?" Sonic asked, too scared to even gaze over his shoulder while holding onto Tails, Sun, Knuckles, Speed and Ghostly who all tried to hold on for dear lives.
"I'm not lookin'!" Knuckles responded, still unable to believe that the situation just kept on getting worse before it was getting better and he should be used to it by now.
"I'm too scared to look!" Tails yelped.
Sun, grumbling that he was the only one a bit more brave enough to look considering his dealings with the Deadly Three, looked over his shoulder and found that they were on their own and sighed in relief.
"It's okay! Nobody's following us! At least for now." The tangerine hedgehog announced, which had his friends all sigh in relief and the blue hedgehog slowed down enough to skid to a stop before he would end up causing the others to be accidentally sent flying.
Once the rest of the group saw that the former Werehog was right, they all slumped on the ground and panted, Sonic leaning over a little with his hands on his knees as he then wiped his forehead.
"Phew...For a moment there, I thought that big red guy was gonna eat us." The blue hedgehog breathed with feeling.
"He certainly has a big appetite, that's for sure." The red echidna remarked sarcastically.
"First Spirit's weird idea of livening things up, then the Lunina Comet shattering, now new evil aliens?" The nine year old kit shuddered worriedly. "I'm getting a really bad feeling about this."
"(This is so weird. What's going on?)" Speed rubbed the top of his head with one tentacle, holding a look of bewilderment.
Ghostly shivered, especially when she heard about the evil aliens part and gulped. "(W-what if these mean bad aliens that are not any of us or humans are trying to rule the galaxy?)"
"Had that problem already with the Black Arms and Shadow got rid of them." Knuckles pointed out.
"Plus Star and I went into the Twilight Cage and stopped Zavok, Zilk or whatever his name was, and that fatso Zomom. They used to be called the Deadly Six, only three of their members became ancient history before that Bill-face Starline got to them twelve years ago." Sun added.
"I saw the Deadly Six in the Time-line frame thingy place, where another Sonic turned into a Werehog and made the mistake to knock away the purple sea-shell that controled them from Eggman. It was one of the other realities that me and Mini-Sonic saw when we were looking for the Sol and Chaos Emeralds." Sonic added, resisting the urge to shudder as he remembered that time before Soloman kidnapped him and took him into the Prison of Evil to stop Eggman from escaping and save Uncle Chuck and the rest of the people in Mobodoon.
Speed and Ghostly both stared at the four Mobians in shock when they heard that they had already encountered evil aliens before meeting their mother and Yacker, with the Jumper Wisp asking. "(Really? You mean there were other aliens out there that caused you guys trouble?)"
"Well, yeah. The Black Arms which were lead by a guy named Black Doom wanted to destory our world and, well, they were nasty all around and traveled on a Black Comet. Shadow defeated them months before Eggman split Mobius apart. That was before we met Sun." Sonic explained.
"And the Deadly Three came from another dimension called the Twilight Cage where they became trapped for the crimes they committed, along with their entire world the Lost Hex, which was crumbling away pretty badly. This guy named Dr. Starline, who was a fan of Ro-butt-nik, tried to control them. I fought against those guys four months ago and they're history too." Sun added.
"(You mean there was somebody who really liked that big bully Baldy Nosehair?)" Ghostly asked, before she and Speed groaned in disgust. "(EW!)"
"(Ugh, gross! Who'd like a guy like Nosehair?)" The cobalt Wisp added, shuddering.
The blue hedgehog nodded in agreement. "I was wondering the same thing. I couldn't believe that Egghead even had a fan."
The group all shuddered in agreement, before Knuckles declared. "We'd better get going. Before those guys come back for round 2, and even though we're far up ahead, the new enemy's unpredictable and we need to be careful."
"Right." Sonic nodded in agreement, as they all stood up and began to hurry now that they were much closer to their destination to find another clue as well as more adorable aliens to save. But then the hero of Mobius sensed that someone wasn't traveling alongside them and paused in confusion, before looking over his shoulder to find Ghostly just hovering there with a scared and guilt-ridden expression, much to his concern.
Sure, the Jade-Ghost Wisp didn't have eyes, but they could strangely still produce tears and their mouths also gave out the body language of emotions. Right now, the least mischievous little alien looked so scared and sad. It immediately ached his heart.
"Ghostly?" The blue hedgehog muttered as he approached the gentle species. "What's wrong? You okay?"
"(I'm sorry, Sonic. I really wanna help, but I'm just so scared. And...now that there are other mean aliens out there in the universe, I'm scared that what happened with the mean Baldy Nosehair before you saved Mama and our family, it could happen again even if Spirit finds out that what he did was a horrible idea. I feel so useless and...and...)" Ghostly explained, looking ready to cry as tears began to form.
"Hey, c'mon, Ghostly. Don't cry." Sonic said gently, carefully wiping away a tear from the Jade-Ghost's invisible eyes and giving her a very gentle rub along the body. "It's not easy being brave, and, to tell the truth, before Black Doom showed up, I never really believed in evil aliens would come to invade us or anywhere else. During the last few months, guess I kinda forgot that the Universe was a really big place. But what I do know is that our home planets should never be taken for granted. We were all born in them, live in them, grow up in them, and for a long time, they keep us safe. But it's our job to make sure we take good care of them too so that they can grow to be as happy as us, because even with or without magical powers, every planet is just like us."
"(R-Really?)" The Jade-Ghost Wisp asked, holding a confused and curious expression.
Sonic nodded. "Sure. I know that your Mom made your entire planet before you were born, but every world grow trees and new life on their own once they were created in many ways that is always full of mysteries. It's like I told Sun and another friend once five months ago, mother nature is like all of us in the every world. You, me, our friends and families, everybody. The sun shines down upon us to give us light, making trees grow for birds and bats and other mobinis that leave in trees homes to stay in, shades for those who sleep against trees or just to relax. When it rains, it means that she's crying, and when it's stormy like lightning and thunder, she's in a bad mood. On hot days, it's like she's running a fever, and when winter comes, it means she's cold in some places, like a ever-lasting quick shiver. Our worlds even represent freedom, that we all should share them in each world that we were born, appreciate everything they've given to us. That's what my parents and uncle always told me, anyway."
Ghostly looked at the hero of Mobius in awe, absorbing everything he said with wisdom and kindness, everything she heard from Yacker and everybody else in their stories. Hearing Sonic the Hedgehog say these things was similar to what he told Yacker three months ago, and then suddenly she began to feel homesick. She missed Planet Wisp, the world where she was born in, the world where her brothers and sisters were born in, the world their Mama created long ago, the beautiful world with the rich green trees, the sparkling blue rivers and lakes, the golden sun shining down, the beauty of the stars in the night sky, everything. The young Jade-Ghost Wisp then realized the meaning of the Mother Wisp's worlds when she and the other Wisps had asked her when would Sonic and Tails would come to visit, and that even some of them had asked if the two Mobians could stay with them forever.
Forcing them both to stay in their world would really make them no better than Eggman, and that Sonic and Tails would definitely want to go back home to Mobius, to be with their own families and friends.
"(I wish Spirit would understand that, and some of our other friends too. But they think that Mama, and big brother Yacker wanted you and Tails to stay with us forever too and that everybody wanted to keep you, that you both belonged in our home...)" Ghostly began to sniffle in sorrow and guilt, which shocked and worried Sonic once more. "(I'm so sorry, Sonic...I wish we weren't so selfish and mean...)"
"Hey, hey. C'mon, it's not your fault. If anything, I'm the one who should be sorry. Don't get me wrong, I love hanging out with you guys, 'cause your kind are the most gentle aliens I've ever met, it's just...sometimes I wish I could've prevented Eggman from kidnapping your family and home. But at the same time...if he were still alive, things would've been a whole worse. Either way, I messed up, and I'm truly sorry that Spirit went so far just to get to me and Tails. It's all my fault, but I'm gonna do everything I can to set things right, and when everything's back to normal, you can sure that we'll be visiting each other from time to time. I promise." The sixteen year old hero declared, while feeling his heart break even further due to what was going on.
Ghostly sniffled, and while she felt that Sonic had forgiven her, he held the similar look despite that he had only tried his best. When the blue hedgehog gave her a sad but warm smile and gently pulled the Jade-Wisp into his arms, hugging her, Ghostly just nuzzled her face into his chest, crying her little sweet heart out, her tears beginning to soak his fur.
"Shhh...It's gonna be alright, Ghostly. It's alright..." Sonic whispered, carefully rocking the adorable little alien back and forth to calm her down. Unlike most of the other Jade-Ghost Wisps that were playful and loved giving out pranks, the Wisp in his arms had gone through a trauma she didn't deserve or should have been involved in. That the peace and freedom of the Wisps, not to mention the harmony, was starting to crumble because of his fame.
He didn't want to make enemies with his friends, but the blue hedgehog had began to come to a horrifying realization that it was starting to come true. First it was the Wisps and he was scared that if he didn't do something soon to get Spirit and those who followed him to understand, it could cause a never-ending battle and...Oh, Chaos, it could cause a Universal-War which could draw out more aliens that could destroy Mobius...
'Maybe that red guy that almost swallowed us up knew about this and thought I was a threat. Or maybe Spirit bringing the worlds together accidentally brought in evil aliens that gave them free access to take over the universe. I've gotta fix this up, fast!' Sonic thought to himself, determined to set things right, and as he gazed at Ghostly who began to calm down, he felt the same desire he gained when he first met most of his friends that were younger than him.
To protect them, to love them, and give them choices and happiness while making sure they would never be lonely or end up like Eggman. In his short time in knowing the Jade-Ghost Wisp who helped him out more than she believed, Sonic wanted to keep her safe, to keep all of the Wisps safe and save them. The same feeling he felt when he first encountered them three months ago.
The Jade-Wisp in the meantime felt the washing wave of feeling safe and cared for within Sonic's strong but gentle and warm arms. He had been so brave and cheerful, and was so kind. Ghostly began to understand what Yacker and the other Wisps had said when they had been rescued and comforted by the Mobian Hedgehog. In a very odd way, he was a lot like the Mother Wisp. She was feeling a lot better as she and Sonic somewhat reluctantly let go of each other.
"Feeling better?" The blue hedgehog asked.
Ghostly nodded. "(I am. Thank you, Sonic.)"
He winked at her with his trademark smirk and thumbs up. "No problem."
They both smiled at each other, now feeling that everything would be alright.
"Hey, Sonic!"
Hearing Sun's voice call out to him, Sonic and Ghostly turned to see that the tangerine hedgehog, Tails, Knuckles and Speed had noticed the missing duo and returned to see them stand there, while Sun continued impatiently. "Are you two guys coming or what?"
"We'll be right there!" The blue hedgehog called back with a wave, turning to the Jade-Ghost Wisp who, looking a little sheepish for the delay, nodded in agreement before the two quickly caught up to their friends and then quickly hurried along to continue their adventure.
Speeding up while taking out more of the food monsters and rescuing more Wisps who helped out by giving Sonic an extra boost with their powers, the blue hedgehog sped around the corner in a hair-pin and continued upward while Tails flew behind him in equal speed, and both Sun and Knuckles hurried along with Speed and Ghostly almost matching the sixteen year old's agility. Team Sonic were now just running through a cave made out of giant Pumpkins which had the hero of Mobius slow down and carefully walked through the insides of it.
Fortunately, Sun carried a flash-light with them while both Speed and Ghostly, being Wisps, had made their bodies glow that made them look like really big fireflies. Yet what they didn't even realize was that several pairs of eyes opened up from within the mush of the inside of the giant Pumpkin and spied on their every move but didn't make a single sound.
"Being inside a giant Pumpkin or two really is like being in a movie out of Halloween." Sonic remarked, admittedly adding. "Or like we've shrunk somehow and ended up in some poor sick guy's body or something."
"I always knew what the inside of a Pumpkin looked like with all of the Jack-O Lanterns we've made, but to actually be inside one that's opened up somehow is really interesting." Tails remarked thoughtfully.
"(It's creepy.)" Ghostly shivered nervously.
"This reminds me too much of the Twilight Cage, only a bit more disgusting." Sun grumbled.
"This is worse than the Pumpkin Hill." Knuckles sighed, keeping an eye out for any signs of danger.
"(I think it's really cool.)" Speed remarked excitedly.
"(How can find being inside a giant...Pum-keen, be cool, Speedy? And what is it anyway?)" The Jade-Ghost Wisp asked in disbelief, while mispronouncing the word.
"You're a Jade-Ghost and you're scared of something like this?" Knuckles asked skeptically.
"Hey, cool it, Knucklehead. Just because Ghostly and Spirit are Jade-Ghost Wisps, that doesn't mean they know what Halloween is." The blue leader of their group scolded. "Besides, they're playful and gentle, even though Spirit did take things a little too far. You gotta remember that they've spent their whole lives living in a beautiful world that doesn't have the fruit and stuff back at home...or like how Sweet Mountain turned out to be."
The seventeen year old echidna thought about it for a moment before realizing his younger friend was right and felt foolishly sheepish about it. "Good point."
"It's actually pronounced Pumpkin, and, well, most people would mistake it as a vegetable since they grow on the ground and not on the trees or bushes. But in reality, they're fruit because of the seeds inside them. Like those grey things sticking out along the walls here." The two-tailed fox cub explained to the two Wisps, pointing at the giant grey seeds that were the size of the four Mobians' hands.
"Just a quick warning, Pumpkins aren't really sweet." Sonic quickly added before Speed and Ghostly would end up taking a bite and regret it later. "They're kinda bland and tasteless without sugar or salt on them and it's best to cook them up before eating them."
"(Oh.)" Both Wisps murmured, beginning to understand what the two brothers were talking about, even as the little aliens were still a bit puzzled over the 'Mobian' explanation.
Suddenly they heard more squealing coming from up ahead which alarmed Team Sonic, Speed and Ghostly and as they did, they gasped in shock when they saw three Drill Wisps attempting to drill their way out of the giant Pumpkin Cave and two Rocket Wisps to blast their way through, yet they as well as three White Wisps were cornered by eight food Monsters that all took form of grey Pumpkins, cages and nets ready to capture the aliens.
"(Oh no! They need help!)" Ghostly exclaimed, panicking.
"Don't worry! We'll save them!" Tails declared with determination.
While Knuckles and Sun nodded in agreement with determination as well, and Speed looking ready to join in, Sonic smirked as he prepared himself to rescue the Wisps. "Let's mash 'em up into Pumpkin Pie!"
While the red echidna and orange hedgehog sweat dropped with deadpanned expressions over the blue hedgehog's joke, the hero of Mobius wasted no time in racing over with Speed being his light and matching the fast pace of the cobalt teenager, before they and Tails, who flew after them, all quickly used a combination Spin Dashes and in Sonic's case, Homing Attack at the unsuspected Pumpkin-Monsters who were knocked down quickly while the things cried out in alarm and agony, bashed away from the trapped Wisps.
"Hey, you Pump-heads!" Sonic taunted once he and Tails landed, and Speed hovered by the former's right. "You should be at your patch back at the Pumpkin Farm!"
The Food-Pumpkin Monsters, recovering from the unexpected attacks from the two Mobians and one Jumping Wisp, didn't take kindly to the sixteen year old's taunts and yelled out in gibberish before charging to attack them, while down below, Knuckles, Sun and Ghostly, who began to panic, found themselves surrounded by more as, to their shock, they seem to be emerging from the walls within the giant Pumpkin Cave. Sonic, Tails and Speed quickly moved out of the way to avoid in getting hit before the blue hedgheog did a karate-kick at one and landed a punch at another, while Tails spun his namesakes at another and Speed copied Sonic's attack by using a Spin Dash.
"Get lost!" Knuckles growled, bashing three Pumpkin-Monsters away just as they charged, but were punched right onto the ground and out-cold. He then charged himself and swiftly dodged the attacks when the Food-Monsters tossed everything including seeds from the walls at him.
Sun in the meantime jumped and punched several other monsters that came jumping down from the walls, using his grapple hooks to attach them against the walls and swung himself around, kicking at more monsters. He then let go and used his Spin Dash to knock down more like bowling pins, just as Sonic did the similar thing above them. Ghostly turned herself invisible and tried going through more monsters to distract them, which made quite a few accidentally hit each other since they couldn't see the Jade-Ghost Wisp.
The other Wisps, who were seeing their saviors fight on with bravery, even two of their own kind helping out, were stunned in awe before sharing looks and felt guilty for not fighting these unusual monsters with their powers. Nodding as these little aliens were among those that Sonic had saved three months ago, they quickly joined in to help out the four Mobians and their brother and sister, much to their surprise as the young heroes noticed, with the Drill Wisps and Rocket Wisps all speeding through to knock down more monsters who noticed and sweat dropped at the sudden change of their would-be captives. Even the White Wisps used their powers of boost to bash straight into them, knocking them back.
"Whoa..." Sun murmured blankly, blinking for a moment before quickly fighting off more of the Food Monsters.
When one of the Drill Wisps flew over to Sonic, despite that he was hesitant as he knew what it wanted to do before it even spoke, the blue hedgehog smirked with a thumbs up before allowing the adorable little alien to merge into his body, allowing him to borrow it's power.
"DRILL!"
Transforming into his Drill form, the hero of Mobius zoomed straight towards them while saying to the Pumpkin monsters. "Bye-bye!"
The Pumpkin monsters let out a scream before Sonic knocked them down and ultimately defeated them, rendering them to nothing. He then returned to normal with the Yellow Wisp emerging from his body and the two shared high-five while the others, with Ghostly turning herself visible once more, quickly regrouped once the threat was neutralized for the time being.
"C'mon! Let's get outta here before more of those creeps show up!" Sonic quickly ordered as going steady, careful and slow inside a giant Pumpkin that could clearly form and create Pumpkin Monsters wasn't a good idea anymore.
Tails, Knuckles, Sun and the Wisps all agreed with the plan and ran to find a way out of the Pumpkin Cave as even this was effected by the Lunina Comet's shard which was making Sweet Mountain become rather a Sour Mountain now, from a safe and fun place to a dangerous and terrifying world. As Sonic and his friends hurried towards the exit with the blue hedgehog keeping at a steady pace.
Thankfully the group made it out before the giant Pumpkin Cave could produce anymore of the Food Monsters and they all sighed in relief.
"Is everybody alright?" The blue hedgehog asked the Wisps that he and his team saved.
"(We sure are!)" One White Wisp said happily.
"(You saved us again! You're our hero!)" The Yellow Drill Wisp that helped Sonic added with a beaming expression.
"(Thank you, Sonic!)" Cheered the Rocket Wisp, before it and the other Wisps began nuzzling at Sonic and Tails who laughed and giggled at the ticklish sensation, and even tried to get snuggly with Knuckles and Sun who both felt embarrassed while trying to politely move the small aliens away from them.
"H-Hey, guys! Ha ha ha ha ha! S-stop! I'm ticklish!" Sonic laughed, while Speed held a look that looked like he could smirk and even Ghostly giggled at the adorable scene.
"Hey, this one wants to go for a run!" Tails giggled as a second White Wisp playfully tugged at his fur.
"Uh, hey, I like you guys too, but...I'm not the cuddly kind of hedgehog..." Sun muttered awkwardly with a sweat drop as a few of the Wisps attempted to hug him.
But when the tangerine former Werehog noticed Knuckles, he tried seriously hard not to laugh when he saw that Knuckles, who tried to not let the Wisps cuddle him, was hugged tightly by the other Rocket Wisp and Drill Wisp that they nuzzled his face and played with his dreadlock quills. When the red echidna saw the former Sonic clone holding an amused expression, he glared hard at him.
"Don't you say a word, Sun-shine boy." The guardian of the Master Emerald warned, and his threat would be intimidating if he wasn't blushing on the muzzle or hugged by two cute little aliens.
"I didn't say anything." The orange hedgehog smirked, snickering under his breath.
When Knuckles then saw Sonic and Tails and the other Wisps see this, they all tried not to laugh themselves as they found their older friend's situation very sweet and adorable.
"No laughing from the peanut gallery either...!" He softly growled while trying not to scare the two Wisps that were hugging him. 'Ugh...This is one of the most embarrassing things in my entire life.'
"Aw, but you guys look so cute like that, Knux." Sonic teased, grinning.
"At least the girls aren't here to see this." Tails added, smirking. "Especially Rouge."
That made Knuckles blush even harder. It was already bad enough that Sonic, Tails and Sun were seeing him like this and he thanked his lucky stars that Amy, Star, Cream and Cheese weren't here to see this as well. But the very idea of Rouge to see him like this brought back the memories of how many times the bat thief called him cute, whether it was his temper, his gullibility, or that he sometimes shows expression that he cares a lot about his friends. If she saw him now, he would never hear the end of it.
"That's my worst nightmare..." The red echidna muttered under his breath.
"By the way, you wouldn't happen to know where the giant Watermelon Mountain is, would ya'?" The blue hedgehog, deciding to give his older friend a break, asked the rescued Wisps.
Confused at first at what a Watermelon was until both Speed and Ghostly quickly explained what it was, the rescued little aliens perked up and pointed up the pathway which when the two other Wisps and the four Mobians looked up, they found that they were almost there and that it woul take at least another fifteen minutes to get to. They even say a make-shift climbing ramp made of giant vines wrapping around it. Thanking the Wisps who flew away to rejoin their other friends with the exception of Speed and Ghostly, Team Sonic hurried along with Sonic dragging them there and they ran up the huge vine to where a glow of light was shining in the middle.
"Whoa! This thing's bigger than I thought it would be!" Sonic remarked as he and his friends continued to climb their way.
"It kind of feels like the vines on Angel Island, or even a Beanstalk." Tails admitted, impressed by the huge vines that was probably the only thing in the transformed world that wasn't made of food.
"It reminds me of the Botanical Kingdom, only with giant food being the garden part." Sun dryly commented.
"At least there's no stupid giant Pie oven machine or whatever it was that nearly got Sonic cooked into a Blue-Hedgehog-Berry-Pie." Knuckles said half-sarcastically.
Sonic couldn't help but groan softly at that. "I told ya' before, I wasn't in the best shape and one half of my heart was playing tricks on me, especially with the Werehog hallucination. He kept on saying stuff that got me freaked out, so I fell off a cliff and landed in a giant blue-berry pie that was still being made."
"(Why wasn't Sonic in the best shape?)" Ghostly asked, in concern.
"That's a very long story and, well...it's not something we like to talk about." The nine year old cub quickly briefed, hoping to avoid in triggering bad memories and causing his older adoptive brother to end up going through another guilt-trip.
While the sixteen year old hedgehog did sense that his best friend/little brother was still concerned about him even though Sonic had moved on from that nightmare, he couldn't help but still feel like this new mess was his accidental doing, and knew that he had to make it up to for it before things would get worse. Still, he really didn't want to go down that path again, not after everything he and his friends have been through since that time in the last three and a half months.
"Hey, I think we're almost there!" The seventeen year old echidna's voice brought Sonic out of his thoughts, and he and the others saw that Knuckles was right.
"Alright! Here we go!" Sonic declared, before leaping up the rest of the way with Sun and Knuckles close behind while Tails, Speed and Ghostly flew up to the vine ramp where the light was. The six friends made it and were alarmingly close to what it looked like a portal of some kind, as the group gaped in awe and caution that it swirled and shone, with sparkles twinkling like stars and seeming waiting for someone or something to enter or touch it.
"I can't be the only one thinking that there's something fishy about that light door thing or portal or whatever this is." Sun muttered, raising his guard as he sensed that this portal was another major problem.
"This must be the portal the other Wisps were talking about." Tails theorized.
"Be careful. We have no idea what it can actually do." Knuckles cautioned.
"Right." Sonic nodded.
"(I wonder what it really does.)" Ghostly muttered, finding herself nervous.
Speed, being too curious for his own good, hovered over to check it out despite the others' protests to not get too close. But the cobalt Wisp slowly touched it with one tentacle only to sudden become sucked right into the portal, making him squeal in fear and alarm, much to his friends' horror.
"NO! SPEED!" Sonic screamed out, quickly grabbing hold of the small alien but found that the portal held onto his new friend and was beginning to get sucked in as well. He tried to pull Speed out, but it was becoming a losing battle.
"SONIC!" Tails exclaimed in dismay, quickly wrapping his arms around the blue hedgehog's waist, as Knuckles and Sun both held their heroic friend by the arms and Ghostly holding onto Sonic's shoulder, all of them straining to save Speed while preventing themselves from being sucked into the portal.
Unfortunately, there wasn't nothing they could do as Team Sonic and their two Wisp friends were sucked in and swallowed up by the portal, screaming helplessly, vanishing and taken to who knows where.
Unaware that down below as more lights shone from the sky before vanishing, ghostly images of four more unusual and fearsome creatures appearing as they saw what happened to the hero of Mobius and his friends. One of these figures was the same colour as the Jade-Ghost Wisps, but more of a darker green like the ocean, twin tail-like legs similar to that of a genie, muscle like arms with sharp claws on it's two hands, four scale-fin-like things sticking out on the shoulders and four on the head, three yellow and black eyes, it's mouth jagged similar to both the Jade-Ghost Wisps and Sun's enemy Zavok, and seems to be the leader of this new unusual group.
He gazed at his three other followers and tilted his head behind him, speaking in a deep voice. "Find Roller, and observe the area."
His followers nodded and vanished to use their powers to find one of their own, while the leader gazed at where Team Sonic had vanished.
"So, you have discovered my portals, Sonic the Hedgehog. But don't think this will be easy. Things are about to get more exciting. Heh heh heh heh heh heh..." The strange new alien leader chuckled, which for a split second another image appeared within it, that of Spirit the Jade-Ghost Wisp who mimicked the laughter in Wisp-language before vanishing.
These enemies are about to become the new obstacles for Sonic and his friends, unaware of what really happened and who these new aliens are.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Sonic and his friends screamed as they fell straight through the portal while the blue hedgehog felt a case of deja vu.
They were then spat right out and ended up piling on top of each other, with Knuckles right underneath everyone else, with Sun on top of him, Sonic being next, Tails on the blue hedgehog's and even Speed's backs as the poor cobalt Wisp was stuck between the two, and Ghostly on top of the two-tailed kit's head. Needless to say, most of them glared at Sonic's Wisp-look-alike in sheer annoyance over the situation they found themselves in.
"(Uh...Oops?)" Speed muttered sheepishly, attempting to shrug the same way Sonic did whenever the hero of Mobius ended up being sheepish himself.
"I'm always the fall guy." Knuckles grumbled, flat on the ground.
After the awkwardness of being piled up, Team Sonic successfully got up and stood before dusting themselves off as Sun commented sarcastically. "That ride was seriously better than a roller-coaster."
"I wonder where we ended up." The red echidna muttered as he and the others looked around their new surroundings which was strangely an alley between two buildings that looked like they were back on Mobius somehow.
"Why am I getting a strange feeling this is familiar?" Tails asked thoughtfully.
Realizing that the young fox was right, Sonic felt a strange case of familiarity as well before deciding to investigate. He hurried to the exit of the alley with his friends attempting to follow despite that he was the fastest thing alive. But when the blue hedgheog skid to a stop at the opening, his eyes widened in sheer shock as he realized that it was indeed familiar.
"No way!" Sonic exclaimed, recognizing this place as it was a city he hasn't seen in a long time. By the time his friends caught up with him, the only ones not completely shocked were Speed and Ghostly.
"It can't be!" Sun exclaimed.
"We're back in Mobius!? I don't believe it!" Tails exclaimed in disbelief.
"(This is your world?)" Ghostly asked, stunned in awe.
"(Sonic, where are we?)" Speed asked, confused.
"This is...This is Mobotropolis!" The blue hedgehog answered, still in shock to see the familiar city which was also the kingdom run by the royal family his father and uncle once served before the former's retirement and the latter's disappearance into the Prison of Evil.
The city itself was futuristic, but not that high in technology. Sonic passed here once on his first adventure five years ago when he was chasing Eggman, who back then was known as Dr. Ivo Robotnik. It was also a place where his parents went for an annual gathering reunion.
"(Mobotropolis?)" The two Wisps asked in confusion, as they and the four Mobians were mostly not seen by passing by Mobians of this grand city.
"It's one of the places and zones on South Island. Ruled by the royal family who had been keeping this place safe in peace and harmony." The two-tailed fox explained.
Sonic nodded while continuing for his younger brother. "Not only that, Eggman tried to take over this place along with the rest of the entire island, but I stopped him. This is one of the places I've been to on my very first saving the world adventure. It's also where my Dad and Uncle Chuck served the King as his Knights, 'til stuff happened ten years ago, no thanks to Kaiser the Myth Hunter, who was just as crazy as Egghead, even more evil and cruel too."
"Not to mention sick with his habits and delusional. He kept on thinking my Werehog form was a Werewolf. He had this thing about hunting down stuff that were supposedly myths so he could kill them and sell their bodies off for money, and would just go around killing anybody who stood in his way or refused to give him what he wanted." Sun added.
"(That guy sounds even worse than Baldy Nosehair...)" Speed remarked as he sweat-dropped while Ghostly shivered in fear.
"Yeah, he even tried to kill Eggman back then too. Kaiser's also the one responsible for my Uncle's disappearance as Sun and I found out five months ago. Originally everybody thought Unc' and fifty other people have died, but, well...they were instead trapped in a place where I was the only one who could set them free. This was related to the stuff that's happened three weeks ago on my birthday."
Ghostly gulped at that and asked fearfully. "(D-Do you think that horrible Kaiser is g-g-gonna find us?)"
"Nah, he died five months ago not long after he admitted his crime to me and Sun." The blue hedgehog reassured, before shuddering as he began to remember the time when the giant Werehog-Beast had eaten Kaiser, and hugged himself over the memory. "Even though that kind of demise isn't something I wouldn't wish on anybody, even my worst enemies."
Tails, Knuckles and Sun were far into agreement to even add onto the story, and luckly the two cute little aliens got the message by sharing a worried glance even though the Jade-Ghost Wisp was a bit glad that they didn't have to worry about Kaiser.
"Anyway, let's forget about that now and figure out why that weird portal took us back home from Sweet Mountain." Sonic announced once he shook himself out of the darker memories. "We've gotta get back there and meet up with Amy and the others."
"If I'm right, then the Lunina Comet shard has done more than what it did to Sweet Mountain, or maybe it's part of what Spirit and his followers did." Tails nodded, before his eyes widened in realization. "To make easier access for everybody to visit each worlds!"
Realizing that he was right, the others shared shocked glances as the orange hedgehog muttered. "Considering what's going on, I'm willing to bet that Tails is right."
"And if those Food Monsters come through before the shard's found...then it's a serious problem, if there aren't any here already." Knuckles grimly informed.
"Well, it seems normal here to me right now, but we gotta get back and somehow close the portal up before there are more problems." Sonic declared, narrowing his eyes as he knew that the situation was even more dangerous than they let on.
Just then, they heard panicked screams and cries as well as startled and/or angry yells annd even laughter filling up the air which caused Team Sonic to look and saw, to their dismay and shock, a bunch of other kinds of Wisps in different situations, some like the Hammer and Red-round-Spiky Wisps knocking down stalls just for fun or attempting to take food from fruit stands which angered the owners, curious Wisps like even more Light-Yellow Wisps and Hazel-Purple Wisps that were gazing at the food at shops hungrily, even more Jade-Ghost Wisps which some were causing mischief like chasing after Mobians, and other Jade-Wisps hiding in barrels with Cyan Wisps who looked either nervous or exasperated.
"So much for normal." Sun deadpanned.
"This is sad." Knuckles muttered.
"(And really embarrassing.)" Speed facepalmed himself.
"We've gotta fix this mess up quick!" Sonic declared quickly, becoming frantic himself as he then sped off to round up as many Wisps as possible to stop the more mischievous ones from causing all kinds of damage that while weren't as bad as Eggman and his robots or other villians, it was more like trying to get naughty children from misbehaving.
'I just hope we won't be finding anymore kinds of trouble.' Tails thought to himself as he and the others hurried to help Sonic to settle things down and figure out how to return to Sweet Mountain since the Blue Typhoon was there, and so were Team Rose.
Yet things were about to become more challenging than the heroes thought.
A/N: Uh-oh! Now Team Sonic and Team Rose have more problems in their hands with new mysterious aliens appearing! Who they are, what their goal is and why the leader is somewhat connected to Spirit the Jade-Ghost Wisp will be revealed later on in the story.
Sorry that Amy's group didn't make any appearances here, but I promise that they will appear in the next chapter which hopefully would be the final one of Sweet Mountain before we move on to the next world. The next week however I'll be busy and may not be able to write again until next week at the latest or hopefully Saturday at the earliest. We'll see what happens as not only it's my birthday on Thursday, but Father's Day is coming up as well.
