Chapter 7: The Artificial Soul
It was early in the morning and Rukia went to the Shop ran by Kisuke. She had an order that needed to be picked up.
"So here to pick it up?" asked Kisuke.
Rukia nodded.
"All right." Said Kisuke.
Kisuke told one of his assistants to grab the order for Rukia.
"So how is life?" asked Kisuke.
"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Rukia.
"I mean I heard how things are going with you,." Said Kisuke.
"Pretty good, thanks to his collection I have plenty of entertainment." Sad Rukia.
"That's good." Said Kisuke.
"Oh wait I just remembered I want to use my bounties to pay for it." Said Rukia.
She handed Kisuke her soul phone, and he was surprised, turned out that murderer's Hollow had quite the bounty.
That was when Ururu came back with product.
"This isn't what I ordered." Said Rukia.
"It's the second most popular." Said Kisuke, "It was still hard to get."
Rukia pouted.
Still she had to give it Ichigo.
Later that day during lunch Rukia and Ichigo had to talk.
"So I got you something to help you." said Rukia.
Ichigo saw what it was.
"A pez dispenser?" asked Ichigo with a sweat drop.
"I don't know what a pez dispenser is but it's not that." Said Rukia.
"Then what is it?" asked Ichigo.
"It's a Soul Candy dispenser." Said Rukia.
There was an awkward silence.
"How is that going to help me?" asked Ichigo.
"It's not really candy." Said Rukia, "It's a pill that removes your soul from your body and artificial soul takes its place."
"I would question why we can't use your glove but I'm pretty sure someone will eventually find my soulless husk lying around." Said Ichigo with a sweat drop.
"Exactly." Said Rukia.
"So is going to act like Donald Duck? Because this kind of looks like Donald Duck." Said Ichigo.
"Who's Donald Duck?" asked Rukia.
"Never mind…" said Ichigo with a sweat drop.
"Also that's not the one I wanted. I wanted Chappy the Rabbit." Said Rukia.
"This one is for me right?" asked Ichigo with a sweat drop.
HE opened up the dispenser and a little green pill popped out.
"So I just take it." Said Ichigo, "And my body will animate?"
"Yes, exactly." Said Rukia.
Ichigo took it and he left his body while his body was still alive.
"Hello my name is Ichigo Kurosaki! Early to bed, early to rise, that's what I always say." Said Ichigo's body.
Ichigo sweat dropped at his body.
"Can I order it avoid everyone I know besides Orihime? Because this will only fool people who don't know me." Said Ichigo.
"Is that what you want?" asked Ichigo's body.
"Now's not the time to program it… also you would have given him a list of people to avoid.," sighed Rukia.
"Just don't inside the school and only talk to a girl with orange hair!" said Ichigo.
Ichigo's body just smiled as they left.
Once they were out of ear shot however…
"Time to have some fun…" said Ichigo's body with an evil smile.
With Ichigo and Rukia they found the Hollow and fought it off quite quickly.
"All right! We need to go back to school…" said Ichigo.
"Why?" asked Rukia.
"I don't trust that thing in my body! I get that it's a like robot but who knows it might turn against its masters…" said Ichigo.
"What?" asked Rukia with a sweat drop.
"Look I bad feeling about it…" said Ichigo.
"Look I'm sure nothing bad will happen with your body and everything will be fine…" said Rukia.
"Did you just tempt fate?" asked Ichigo.
"What?" asked Rukia.
"You just tempted fate…" sighed Ichigo.
"What?" asked Rukia again.
"If something is going wrong! I'm blaming you!" yelled Ichigo.
"I'm so confused right now…" thought Rukia with a sweat drop.
Ichigo ran back to school.
At the school Ichigo's body was jumping around, very high jumps.
He also kicked a wall and it was very powerful.
Cracking it.
"Interesting…" said Ichigo's body.
He ended up jumping up to another window.
And this window turned out to be Ichigo's class…
Inside Orihime and Tatsuki were talking.
That was when they noticed Ichigo had jumped to the window .
"Ichigo?" asked Orihime .
She realized that something was very wrong and quickly realized that whoever was in his body wasn't Ichigo.
He smiled at Orihime.
Meanwhile Ichigo and Rukia arrived at the school when they heard screams coming from his classroom.
They looked at each other and ran there.
Tatsuki had pushed away Ichigo.
"What is wrong with you!" yelled Tatsuki, "You shouldn't have kissed Orihime!"
"What did you do!" yelled Ichigo.
He ran inside and punched his body going flying.
"You're not Ichigo! You're something posing his body!" yelled Orihime.
The entire class looked at Orihime confused.
Ichigo breathed a sigh of relief knowing that it was a good thing that he let Orihime in on it.
Rukia ran to the door and Ichigo's body knew he had to escape.
He leaped out the window.
Ichigo's eyes winded at the jump.
Even Rukia was shocked by the jump.
They knew they had to follow it.
"Rukia!" called out Orihime.
"I'll explain later!" called out Rukia.
Orihime nodded relief that it wasn't Ichigo that kissed her.
That it wasn't Ichigo that was being a creep.
On the other hand…
The rest of the class was staring at her.
"Orihime… what makes you think that…" said Tatsuki.
Orihime blinked unsure what to say.
Meanwhile with Rukia and Ichigo they had seen Ichigo's body run away and jump away like crazy.
"Dang it! I already knew I was considered a weirdo! But now due to this everyone bit Orihime will think I'm a perv!" yelled Ichigo.
"Oh come on! I heard that kissing is just like a handshake on earth." Said Rukia, "It's fine…"
"Yeah… you need to get your information straight." Said Ichigo.
"Either way I'm deeply concerned." Sighed Rukia.
"What do you mean?" asked Ichigo.
"Because I think that a Mod Soul." Said Rukia.
"A mod soul?" asked Ichigo.
Rukia began to explain to him about the Mod Soul Plan. A specially but artificial soul that had special ability's. The plan was for them to help the fight with Hollows using dead bodies. However due to ethical concerns they realizes that was terrible idea so they canceled the project and destroyed all of the mod souls that were already made.
"But one got loose." Said Rukia.
"So we have to stop it for sure… great…" said Ichigo, "Why would we act like a perv though."
"I have no idea…" said Rukia.
They were about to once again search for his body.
However before the search could begin, the Soul Phone beeped.
"There's another Hollow." Said Rukia.
"You know this is all your fault! You just had to tempt fate!" yelled Ichigo.
"However is this my fault? "asked Rukia.
"You tempted fate." Said Ichigo with his eye twitching.
"Just go to the hollow." Sighed Rukia.
"Fine…" muttered Ichigo.
He searched for the Hollow and found his body fighting it, but it wasn't a winning battle.
He joined the fight and managed to beat the Hollow, killing it.
As it fell to the roof they were fighting on, Ichigo's body.
"What were you trying to do! Were you just trying to look cool." Said Ichigo.
"You really think I was trying to look cool!" yelled Ichigo's Body.
That was when Ichigo noticed ants on the ground.
"Even the smallest thing deserve to live." Said Ichigo's Body.
"Oh…" said Ichigo.
The two stood in silence.
He could well that the mod Soul valued life more than anything.
"That makes sense…" said Ichigo.
"So let me guess you're going to turn me in." said Ichigo's Body, "Well it was good while it lasted… should have known."
"You did kiss my friend and secret keeper." Muttered Ichigo.
"OI figured it would okay since you implied that she was the one you let in on everything." Said his body.
"How does that make it okay?" asked Ichigo.
Ichigo's body glared at Ichigo.
However that was when suddenly something poked through Ichigo's body, and Ichigo noticed it had the same symbol as Rukia's glove.
And Mod Soul Candy fell out of his body and the thing was removed of Ichigo's body.
The item was Kisuke's cane and he picked up the Mod Soul Candy while all of his assistants were nearby .
"Look like our job is done." Said Kisuke.
"Oh come on…" complained his boy assistant.
"What do you think you're doing?" asked Rukia showing up.
"What do you mean?" asked Kisuke.
"I mean I'm pretty sure it's still ours… I did pay for it after all." Said Rukia.
"Are you sure you want it?" asked Kisuke.
"I'm pretty sure." Said Rukia.
Kisuke sighed and gave the mod soul to Rukia.
"Rukia…" said Ichigo surprised by this.
"You're not the one who need to thank me." Said Rukia.
They both decided to just head home for the day…
Because it was stressful.
"So what should we do for this one…" said Rukia.
"I don't we should se roadkill." Said Ichigo.
"Do you have a spare body lying around…" said Rukia.
"Hmm…" thought Ichigo.
They went back to his house and Ichigo opened up a draw of plushies.
"You have a draw of plushies?" asked Rukia.
"Pride reasons…" said Ichigo.
"What?" asked Rukia.
"I won them! Do you know how hard UFO catchers are?" asked Ichigo.
"No…" said Rukia.
"Oh this is a fitting on." Said Ichigo looking a plushy of Sanji.
"Sanji really" asked Rukia with a sweat drop.
"He's a perv and he was doing a lot of kicking." Said Ichigo.
Even though he won the plushy he knew he had to make a small hole in the neck and inserted it in the body.
"I don't know if that worked…" said Rukia.
That was when the anime character plushy came to life.
"What the…" said the anime plushy, "Am I alive?"
"You're alive." Confirmed Ichigo.
"Am I in a plushy?" he asked.
"You are in a plushy." Confirmed Ichigo.
"Oh come on! "yelled the Mod Soul in a plushy.
And with that they had a new v ally… In the form of a Mod Soul in a One Piece plushy. Yeah it was kind of weird…
Next Time: It's just a normal day for Ichigo... with his life is like right now. However something very surprising happen... and it's not good. What will happen? Find out next time!
