Author's Note: Hi readers! Thank you for your everlasting patience with me these past couple of years! As we are nearing the end of the story, I had already predetermined the lucky lady Tai was going to match up with in the end because of a poll…unfortunately, I'm really liking how things have been naturally panning out, so I've decided to write TWO alternate endings for this story. The hardest part about formatting this ending was trying to make it in a way that didn't seem too repetitive, but I hope you will enjoy! Let me know which ending you liked best, which one you thought worked, and just all your thoughts on this series! I love and appreciate you all to the moon and back!
Wild Card
"Tai?" Sora gingerly walked to her doorway.
"H-h-hey...," Tai nervously grinned.
"What are you doing here? Is anyone expecting you?" Sora asked.
"So...about that? Sooo…I was wondering if Izzy was here? I think he has my wallet," Tai popped his lips.
"You're such a dork," Tai's son interrupted.
"Shut up," Tai grunted.
"I think he and Mimi stepped out. Why don't you call him?" Sora quizzically looked at him.
"Like he even answers his phone anymore, ya know what I mean?" Tai nervously winked at an amused Willis.
"I don't know what you mean. Could you elaborate?" Willis smirked.
"Ugh, I don't have time to gossip with you girls! I am on a mission to find my wallet!" Tai huffed.
"Okay, well sorry about that," Sora frowned.
"Good luck. I hope you find it," Willis shrugged.
"Thanks, I hope I do too!" Tai marched out of the building.
"Hey, did you notice his wallet sticking out from his back pocket?" Willis muttered to Sora.
"I wanted to tell him, but I didn't think it would have been a good idea to interrupt him when he looks so…hyper," Sora frowned.
"I don't know him that well, but I can see what you mean," Willis pursed his lips as they watched Tai across the street pacing back and forth frantically.
"You probably haven't experienced it yet, but when you get older, you'll catch yourself doing things that you never thought you would have done like ten, twenty, thirty years ago. For example, growing up with these guys, you never would have predicted that every mom's dream of a polite, grade-A whiz kid like Izzy would turn out to outdrink guys like me, or play better guitar than Matt. Speaking of, I never thought that Matt was low key a genius after all. Did you know that not only was he an astronaut, but he was on the team that helped create the solution to end the pandemic permanently? It was like a role reversal…but don't tell either Izzy or Matt I said anything about them. They're both still kind of arrogant pricks.," Tai said.
"You don't say," Tai's son said in awe.
"Again, you didn't hear any of this from me. That is actually supposed to be top secret," Tai put his finger to his lips. "Like I was saying, you can't predict how people will act. Things change, new situations come up, we adapt, but not all of us can do it well. It's fine, because in the end, it brought me to this moment and I wouldn't have it any other way," Tai pulled a deck of cards out and shuffled them in his pocket. "Here, pick a card, any card!"
"Okay…," Tai's son gingerly pulled out a random playing card.
"So tell me, what one did you get? I bet you I already know," Tai smirked.
"No you don't," Tai's son mocked him.
"Okay, bet? Is it the…"
Author's Note: Okay gang, this is your call to make here! There are two alternate endings ahead of us! Choose:
1) Six of Spades if you're someone who wishes to run away to a fantasy land, whether it's a nice deserted island IRL, or to an imaginary neverland where there were no worries in the world (PS: this was the original ending)
2) Two of Hearts if you're someone who appreciates the moments and people in their life and doesn't want to let them go
Or who cares, read both! That would be awesome too!
Regardless, thanks to all of you guys who made this story possible! I love you all, your interactions have inspired me to keep going and I'm happy I'm finally here! Thanks again everybody, I hope you like it! I can't describe how amazing all of you have been throughout this story, but I'm glad that we're finally here to see it at a close. With all the love and candy in the world,
Lily
