Quick AN: This story is basically a rewrite of my previous work, Hero of the Sith. Like the previous story, it will follow Izuku Midoriya taking the path of a Light Side Sith Warrior. However, his origin story will be much darker than the previous story as I have a plan for this. Please bare in mind that I wasn't originally going to do this, but the idea was niggling in the back of my head and wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote this chapter and posted this story.

A Hero's Loss & A Mother's Pain

Pacing back and forth in a hospital room, Inko Midoriya was a nervous bundle of anxiety as she waited for news of her son. It had been a few hours since her son was rescued from that illegal and inhumane interrogation done by the Hero Commission, and proven innocent of being the UA traitor. She still couldn't believe that Eraserhead, her son's very own teacher, could have possibly suspected her son of being a traitor! Her little Izuku wanted nothing more than to be a hero and help people ever since he could walk and talk, and would never even think about betraying the very heroes that he had idolized for so long!

But apparently, it only took one look at the contents of one of his hero journals, which he had accidentally left behind after class one day, and everyone in his class turns their backs on him as the children automatically decided that he was the traitor, following Aizawa's lead like a bunch of dumb sheep!

Well, almost all of them.

Sitting in the waiting room with her while also awaiting news of the green-haired boy's health were Toshinori Yagi A.K.A. All Might, Bakugo Katsuki, Izuku's childhood friend and the son of her own best friend, Mitsuki Bakugo, Nezu, who is the principal of UA and just so happens to be a dog(...bear… mouse… thing?...), and Detective Tskauchi, the very officer who proved her son's innocence using his quirk: Lie Detector. Which does exactly what it says in the name.

All Might and Nezu didn't even know about what Aizawa had done, calling the Hero Commission about his suspicions of Izuku being the traitor, until it was too late. By the time they'd learned about his unauthorized actions against her son, three hours had already passed and Izuku was STILL being abused and interrogated into giving a 'confession' about being the traitor. By the time Tskauchi had gotten there and used his quirk on him, Poor Izuku was already riddled with cuts, bruises, broken bones and several other severe internal injuries while being caked in blood which matted his green hair into a solid, sticky mess.

The poor boy had definitely seen better days. But the worst of the injuries were those done to his arms. The bones from the elbows down had been rendered little more than powder. Recovery Girl and several doctors were doing all they could for the boy as we speak, but Inko couldn't shake the sinking feeling in her stomach that something horrible could go wrong at any moment. The feeling that something HAS gone wrong.

The doors to the hospital slid open and in rushed Katsuki's parents, Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugo. Both of them were a little short on breath showing that the had arrived in a hurry.

"Inko, we heard what happened! As soon as we saw what happened to little Izuku on the news, we rushed over as fast as we could!" exclaimed Masaru.

Mitsuki carefully guided her friend over to a chair and tried to calm her down, honestly surprised that the highly emotional woman hadn't already flooded the hospital with her crying yet. Or that she hadn't been crying at all, from the look of things. But that's probably because her anxiety was winning the war with her sadness.

"Inko, I am so sorry! I can't believe that those assholes would do something so fucking terrible! And to a kid, no less!" Mitsuki growled through her own sadness at what happened to her nephew in all but blood.

Well, now we know where Katsuki gets the cursing habit from.

"I'm afraid that getting angry won't reverse what has happened to young Midoriya. All we can do is be there for him and help him through this time of need." said Toshinori.

"What's gonna happen to sensei and the shitbags who did this to Deku?" Katsuki asked, toning down the cursing a bit and, for once, not yelling or visibly angry.

If anything, the boy looked almost broken.

"Rest assured that Eraserhead will be receiving the proper punishment for his actions against Midoriya. None of the other teachers at UA, including myself or All Might, knew what he had done until it was too late, but he will not be walking out of this without receiving proper punishment. And whether or not he is truly remorseful for what he's done will determine if he will be allowed to keep his job as a teacher." Nezu explained with a rare angry frown. "As for the two officers who subjugated Midoriya to that terrible interrogation, as well as bringing him in without consent nor the consent of his legal guardian, they're more than likely going to lose their jobs and be doing time in prison."

"The Hero Commission has also lost a lot of the people's trust because of what they did. There are plenty of heroes out there who disagreed with their actions and tried to stop them, but their hands were tied and they really couldn't do much about it. Hawks and Miruko chief among them. If you wish to file a lawsuit against them for their actions, you can count on the police and UA for support." Tskauchi said.

Though she was grateful for the reassurances from the teachers of UA and the police detective, it did little to ease her worries or calm her fears for her son's health. Not to mention the negative effect that this would have on him mentally and emotionally.

Finally, the door to the ER opened and out walked Recovery Girl and the head doctor. Naturally the distraught mother rushed over with tears beginning to build in her eyes.

"How is he? Is my baby going to be okay?" Inko started asking.

But Recovery Girl held up a hand to stop her.

"I'm not going to lie to you, Miss Midoriya, it's not looking too good for your son. We had to operate for hours to begin repairing his most grievous injuries, all of which were internal. Along with several broken and fractured bones, Izuku had serious head trauma and a fractured skull. Five of his ribs were broken with one of them dangerously close to puncturing a lung, and severe internal bleeding from several ruptured organs. His pelvis was fractured, and the bones in his legs were broken in six different places." Recovery Girl had to take a deep breath and remove her glasses as she prepared to deliver the worst news. "He will eventually make a full recovery, but… I'm afraid that the damage in his arms was too great. The bones in his arms and hands were rendered little more than powder and bone fragments from extreme blunt force trauma."

A tear fell from Recovery Girl's eye as she, with some difficulty, said "We had no choice but to… amputate both of his arms."

Inko gasped in horror and sank to her knees. Izuku's arms? Amputated? This was like something out of a nightmare! She wanted it to be a nightmare, but she knew that it wasn't. Her son was now crippled for life, and would likely be unable to become a hero like he's always wanted to be. Like he was so close to becoming.

She started to cry, but unlike her normal torrents of tears that she and her son are known for, she only had small streams of tears falling from her eyes like most people normally have. She silently wept as she couldn't make any sounds except for the occasional choked sob. Toshinori put an arm on her shoulder while Mitsuki knelt down and brought her friend into a hug as they tried to comfort her, even though they were also shedding tears of their own. Nezu had a sad and disappointed look on his face which was so foreign compared to his usual happy appearance while Tskauchi lowered his head and closed his eyes to try and hide his own feelings of sadness for the young man whose future had been so cruelly ripped away from him at such a young age. As if it hadn't been enough for young Midoriya to be quirkless for the first fourteen years of his life, now he loses his arms in an interrogation that he never should have gone through and may have to give up trying to be a hero!

But Nezu wouldn't let that happen! He couldn't! The sentient animal knew a friend who specializes in cybernetics and makes some of the finest prosthetics anyone could ask for, and it just so happens that this friend owes Nezu a couple of favors. Looks like he finally has a chance to cash them in.

Bakugo was gritting his teeth and clenching his fists in barely restrained sadness and anger, wishing desperately to blow something up right now. But he knew that lashing out wouldn't solve anything. And it certainly wouldn't give Izuku back his arms.

"Damn it… why, dammit?" growled Katsuki. "This wasn't supposed to happen! The damn nerd was innocent the whole time… everyone knew it! And yet…"

Masaru calmly brought his son into an embrace, and for once, the angry pomeranian of a boy didn't even try to put up a fight. He just hugged his father back as he let his mask of perpetual anger drop for once, and reveal the scared and hurting child that he was underneath. A child who was angry at the Hero Commission and scared for his friend who was practically his own brother.

"Trust me, Bakugo, we understand how you feel. And justice will be served to all parties involved in what happened to Midoriya." Nezu said calmly before turning to Recovery Girl. "Will Midoriya be allowed visitors anytime soon?"

"He's sleeping right now, practically comatose, but he is allowed visitors. But no more than one at a time for now." she replied.

"I think it would be wise to let his mother go first. It's only right considering what her son has just gone through and what she's learned." the assisting Doctor suggested.

The others nodded in agreement as Toshinori and Mitsuki helped the Midoriya matriarch to her feet and guided her to Izuku's room, which Recovery Girl said was number 36B, all the while bracing themselves for what they might find.
