Part 15: Christmas day
There was silence in the apartment after eating their food along with Sumi and Chizuru explaining to Kazuya and Kibe about how Ruka would be joining them for Karaoke on Christmas. While Kazuya looked like he was thinking Kibe had serious look on his face as he looked at the table.
"So she wants to apologize huh," Kibe said sounding serious.
"She seemed really sorry after we were finished talking," Sumi said looking nervous.
"And she became a rental girlfriend to experience love," said Kazuya.
"That's what she said, apparently she looked me up after Kuri told her about what happened with Mami," Chizuru said looking down.
"Well thanks for looking out for Kuri," Kazuya said smiling at her.
"Yeah same here," Kibe said sitting back. "The way Kuris been acting ever since we found out it didn't look like he would eventually go out and get an actual girlfriend," he said.
"If you mind me asking," Sumi said Kibes attention, "Did it look like Kuri liked Ruka?" She asked.
"Kazuya," Kibe said.
"Hard to say really, from what I remember when the four of us went out together Kuri just seemed excited that he had a girlfriend," Kazuya said.
"Well hopefully this apology will help him feel better, thanks for doing this Chizuru," Kibe said smiling.
"Yeah no problem," she said smiling.
The next day at college when Kazuya was finished with class and was heading for lunch. He met up with Chizuru in the hallway and she waved at him before walking next to him.
"How'd your classes go?" She asked him.
"Alright, by the way I didn't know you were such a gamer," said Kazuya making her look surprised.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I past that store a few times back when I went to the mall, their logo is on the bags," Kazuya said smiling.
"Well it's a surprise so I'm not telling you," Chizuru said looking away with a serious look on her face.
"Can't wait for it," Kazuya said calmly before Chizuru smiled.
"Also are you sure it wasn't just Sumis present you were hiding in our closet," she said making Kazuya look nervous.
"Well maybe," he said while Chizuru laughed.
"How about we stop talking about gifts for now," she said before looking out the window and saw her friends walking outside.
"Hey they came with you back when we went on that beach trip," said Kazuya before looking at Chizuru who looked calm.
"Hey are you okay?" He asked getting her attention.
"Yeah I'm okay," she said smiling.
"Hey you can have lunch with them if you want instead, I know you and Sumi have been hanging around together a lot since she quit her last job," he said while looking around to make sure no one heard him.
He then looked confused when Chizuru held his hand and he looked to see she was smiling. "I say hi to them when ever I can and sometimes they ask how you and I are doing," she said.
"So I'm happy with the way things are and their happy for me," she said before kissing him on the cheek.
"Alright, so how about lunch," said Kazuya as they started walking towards the food court.
"Sounds good," Chizuru said. "By the way make sure to remind me to tell them when tickets for the play are available," she said.
"Will do, ill tell them when I'm getting my own ticket," Kazuya said smiling. The two of them continued walking to the food court, not caring they were still holding hands.
Then Christmas Day finally arrived. The group was to meet up outside the karaoke late into the afternoon. At Kazuya and Chizurus apartment, Chizuru had just woken up and noticed her boyfriend was still asleep. She smiled before kissing him on the forehead and getting quietly out of bed.
When she opened the closet she looked surprised when Kazuya spoke up, "Morning," he said sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
Chizuru sighed before taking out a small box in red wrapping paper along with a small bag, "Here I was hoping to surprise you," she said before sitting down on the bed.
"It's alright," Kazuya said before getting out bed and walking over to the closet. He then walked out carrying a bag and an envelope.
"So you werent hiding any of Sumis presents after all," Chizuru said smiling while Kazuya laughed before sitting down on the bed.
"I wasn't actually lying," he said, "I was only hiding one of them and Kibe came by last night to collect it,".
"Oh okay, well here open this one first," Chizuru said handing him the wrapped present.
Kazuya took off the wrapping paper, "A nitendo switch," he said looking surprised as he picked up the box.
"I remembered the game I'm doing voice acting for is coming out on this, I thought we could play it together when it eventually comes out," Chizuru said.
"Thanks I appreciate it, would be nice to play when I get home from work," said Kazuya. "Until the game comes out ill look up some other games we can play together," he said.
"Sounds good to me," Chizuru said, "But I wont be going easy on you," she said smiling.
"Looking forward to it," Kazuya said smiling back at her and the two of them laughed. After getting the shirt Kazuya hugged her before handing her the small bag.
Chizuru looked surprised when she took out a long red dress, "Kazuya this is beautiful, wait something about it looks familiar," she said.
"Yeah remember a week back we went shopping and you noticed it in the store," Kazuya said.
Chizuru then look surprised as she remembered seeing it, "Yeah I didn't even bother trying it on after I saw the price tag," she said.
"Well during one of my lunch breaks last week I went back and got it," Kazuya said smiling as he rubbed the back of his head.
Chizuru smiled before grabbing the envelope. Inside was a Christmas card along with a gift card for a electronics store. She then look surprised when she was how much was on the card.
"Kazuya is this for real?" She asked.
"Uh yeah," he said looking nervous from her reaction. "I was in the store one day and didn't know what TV to get,".
"So I thought it would be better to put the money on the card and leave it for you to decide since you watch more movies then I do," he said.
Chizuru smiled before kissing him and making him fall back with her on top of him. "Merry Christmas Kazuya," she said.
"Merry Christmas Chizuru," Kazuya said smiling before she leaned down.
"Don't even think about paying for the meal on our next date, got it," she said looking serious.
"Got it," Kazuya said smiling nervously before she hugged him. "I really fell in love with her," he thought smiling before hugging her back. The two of them then stood up and Chizuru held his hand as she lead him to the bathroom.
"Chizuru," he said before she smiled at him.
"We can save time for later if we shower together," she said. Kazuya smiled before the two of them went into the bathroom.
Much later into the day the two of them wearing coats went to karaoke. There they saw Kibe, Sumi and Kuri waiting outside.
"Hey merry Christmas Kazuya," Kibe said waving.
"Well that's better then the chrismtas text," Kazuya said smiling.
"Hey Sumi is that a new scarf?" Chizuru asked.
"Yeah Kibe got it for me for Christmas," Sumi said smiling.
"I just thought it looked nice," Kibe said blushing.
"Hey listen you guys I'm think I'm just gonna go," Kuri said looking down.
"What, but were almost ready to go in," Kazuya said looking surprised.
"No, to be honest it feels like I'm interrupting a double date," Kuri said before putting his hands in his pockets, "Ill see you guys another time, have fun," he said.
"Uh, hi everyone," a familiar female voice to all of them said. Kuri looked surprised as he turned around to see Ruka standing there. Like them she was wearing a coat and looking nervous at Kuri.
"Ruka," he said looking surprised to see her.
