Part 20: Mamis threat
"From your reaction it looks like what I heard about you was right," Mami said sitting in the seat across from Chizuru who looked up and tried to look calm.
"How did you find out, I haven't been working as one for over a year now," she said.
"Well it looks like someone recognized your acting from when you were on that stage, I saw the reviews and looked like everyone did really well," Mami said smiling, "I wouldn't be surprised if you were offered to act in some other plays,".
"Yeah I was offered a few auditions, but I have to turn some of them down," Chizuru said calmly as she sat back in her chair.
"Oh whys that, it wouldn't have to do with spending more time with Kazuya would it," Mami said calmly.
"Yes I didn't want to be far away from him and I also want to finish college," Chizuru said.
"I was sad when Kibe didn't let me go on the beach trip, I wanted to apologize to Kazuya for what I said to him at the bar," she said looking a little down. "Though he went on a trip without you, you must have been worried since some girls went on the trip as well,".
"No I actually went on the trip as well to surprise him and we had a good time," Chizuru said, "Were actually out on date night tonight,".
"Oh, have you had to use any of your skills anytime during this date," Mami said making Chizuru look annoyed.
"What," she said.
"Come on Kazuya seems like a nice guy but you know how he gets sometimes, sure I used to date him," she said sitting forward smiling while Chizuru had her fist clenched under the table.
"You don't get to talk about how he used to act, after all you're the one who dumped him because you fell for someone else," she said.
"Well that doesn't mean I can still be his friend, I did try to apologize," Mami said.
"Yeah after you embarrassed him in front of Kibe and the others," Chizuru said.
"Well the fact that he would date a rental girlfriend or former," Mami said now looking a little annoyed, "Makes me a little annoyed," she said.
Chizuru then took a deep breath before speaking, "We haven't talked in a while but me and Kazuya have been living together for a long time now, we even got a new apartment together a few months back," she said.
"He knows what I used to be and yet still loved me like I do him," she said before looking serious, "I haven't once had to act for him,".
"Wow your really tough, but I wonder what people at college would think if they knew or if this information got online," Mami said while Chizuru looked nervous, "Something tells me your acting career wouldn't go well," she said.
"What do you want," Chizuru said while looking down.
"Good," Mami said before looking up serious, "Break up with Kazuya, let him have the apartment and maybe he can someday share it with a proper girlfriend," she said before getting up from her chair.
Chizuru looked shocked as she clenched her fists on her lap before hearing Kazuya, "Hey is everything okay?" He asked sounding confused.
"Can we just finish our food and go, I'm not feeling that great right now," she said without looking up while she unclenched her fists.
"Yeah, sure we can skip out on desert," Kazuya said before sitting back down.
"I'm sorry," Chizuru said sadly.
"Hey its fine, if your not feeling alright then will just go out another time," Kazuya said smiling but then looked at his pocket, "I guess ill have to wait another time," he thought while Chizuru still looked down. After finishing dinner they were offered desert but Kazuya revealed they would be skipping and got the check.
After paying and leaving Chizuru instantly grabbed his hand as they headed back home. When they reached the apartment Kazuya opened the door, "So are you feeling okay," he said after closing the door before his girlfriend hugged him.
"Chizuru," he said before he could hear her crying as her shoulders shook.
"I'm sorry, something really bad happened," Chizuru said before looking up, "I ruined the night," he said.
"Hey its okay, can you tell me what happened," Kazuya said looking confused while Chizuru nodded before the two of them headed to bedroom. The two of them sat at the end of the bed where Chizuru told him about her conversation with Mami and what she wanted to do.
Kazuya looked annoyed as he clenched his own fists, "I'm sorry you have to go through this," he said. Now feeling nothing but anger towards his ex girlfriend.
"No its fine, shes just annoyed that you ended up with me," Chizuru said, "Honestly thinking about how this could affect my acting, it didn't effect me as much as I thought it would," she said.
"Wait really," Kazuya said looking surprised before Chizuru leaned her head on his shoulder smiling.
"Its like I told you, I couldn't have this far without your support, I love you," she said.
Kazuya looked surprised before taking a breath, "When you told me when you turned down some of the auditions just to be with me, I was surprised," he said. "That's when I realized I wanted to show my own determination," he said before standing up.
"Kazuya," Chizuru said before looking surprised as he got down on one knee.
"I was planning to do this at the restaurant, but seems like now is the perfect time," he said before taking out the small red box and revealing the engagement ring inside, "Chizuru Ichinose you helped me get through some tough times and I want to support you for the rest of my life," he said.
"Will you marry me," he said.
Chizuru put her hand over her mouth. Earlier she felt so annoyed but now she was feeling happy, "Yes," she said without hesitating.
Kazuya smiled before putting the ring on her finger and she pulled his face towards her and kissed him. The two of them fell on the bed with Kazuya on top of Chizuru.
"You know we can still enjoy the night," Chizuru said before turning them over with her on top.
"Wait are you sure," Kazuya said before looking surprised as Chizuru slipped off her dress and then reached to unhook her bra.
"Definitely," she said before leaning forward and kissing her boyfriend now fiance. Much later now with both of them naked under the covers. Kazuya was on top of Chizuru with her moaning as he moved before the two of them looked at each other.
"I love you," Chizuru said.
"I love you too," Kazuya said before Chizuru kissed him before he started moving again before two of them reached their limit. After Kazuya lied down with an arm around Chizurus waist, "Oh wait," Kazuya said looking surprised.
"What is it," Chizuru said looking up.
"We didn't have protection, I'm sorry," Kazuya said looking nervous before Chizuru smiled.
"Don't worry I'm safe, we may be engaged but I don't want kids for a long time," she said before looking at the ring on her finger, "I want to tell our family about my old job," she said.
"Are you sure?" Kazuya asked looking nervous.
"Yeah, even if Mami posts it I rather they hear it from me first," Chizuru said before resting her head on his chest.
"You don't have to do it alone," he said.
"Thank you," she said before kissing him on the lips.
The next day Kazuya called his parents to come over to the apartment with his grandmother. Chizuru called her grandmother who arrived by taxi.
"Did he propose," Kazuya's Grandmother said as the group walked in.
"Looks like he did," Sayuri said noticing the ring on Chizuru finger. The young couple were sitting in chairs in front of the couch where their family was sitting.
"Yes, he proposed last night," Chizuru said smiling.
"Well that's great, we have to celebrate," Kazuya's Grandmother said cheerfully.
"Hold on, Kazuya have the two of you talked about when your going to get married?" Kazuyas father asked looking calm.
"Actually we have a few things to work out before we think of that," Kazuya said rubbing the back of his head looking nervous.
"Did something happen," Sayuri said.
"I was threatened to break up with Kazuya, otherwise a secret of mine would get out," Chizuru said making Kazuyas parents look surprised.
"Why would someone threaten you?" Kazuya's Grandmother asked looking confused.
"Its my ex grandma, shes not happy I'm with Chizuru," Kazuya said.
"The secret is that I used to work as a rental girlfriend," Chizuru said looking down.
"A rental girlfriend," Kazuyas father said looking confused.
"I believe it means she would act as someone's girlfriend for a certain amount of time," Kazuya's Grandmother said making the young couple look surprised, "But they wouldn't do anything inappropriate," she said.
"How do you know about that," said Kazuya before remembering something important, "Kibe told you about Sumi," he said and Kazuya's Grandmother nodded.
"Well obviously your not one anymore Chizuru, you must have quit when you started dating Kazuya," Sayuri said and Chizuru nodded.
"Yes, I quit the same day I confessed my feelings to him," Chizuru said.
"You must have been nervous telling us all this," Kazuya's Grandmother said before walking over and putting a hand on the young womans shoulder, "You did nothing wrong and we wont think differently of you," she said.
"After all you'll some day be family," Kazuyas mother said smiling.
Chizuru looked surprised before looking down, "Thank you," she said as her shoulders were almost shaking.
"Kazuya your fiance needs you," Kazuya's Grandmother said looking serious.
"Got it grandma," Kazuya said smiling before hugging Chizuru who smiled.
"So what are you going to do now, if this information gets out I'm not sure how it could affect your acting," Kazuyas father said.
"No its alright, I know what I'm going to do," Chizuru said before sitting up and looking determined.
The next day at college Kazuya and Chizuru met up with Kibe, Sumi, Kuri and Ruka who had come to visit Kuri, "Mami really said that," Kuri said looking surprised after they were told what happened.
"Should you really not be wearing your glasses," Kibe said looking serious. Like Kazuya he wasn't happy with Mami did.
"No, I know what I'm doing," Chizuru said looking serious. She was wearing her regular clothes for college but her hair was down and her glasses were off.
The group walked towards a bench between buildings and found Mami on her phone, "Oh hey Kazuya, long time no see," she said waving.
Kazuya looked annoyed but Kibe put a hand on his shoulder, "Keep it together man," he said.
"Oh wait, are you two still together," Mami said looking confused.
"Its more then that now," Chizuru said before lifting up her hand and clearly showing her engagement ring.
"Well in that case, I guess I have no choice," Mami said standing up, "Hey Kibe did you know where Chizuru used to work," she said smiling.
"Yeah a rental girlfriend before her and Kazuya started dating, like Sumi," he said smiling at Sumi.
"What," Mami said looking surprised.
"Yes and I quit when me and Kibe got together," she said looking determined while Chizuru smiled.
"Oh I thought that was you," a male voice said. The group looked to see a young man walking over with a young woman. Both of them looked to be in the same college year as most of them.
"Wait I haven't seen you around before," Kuri said looking surprised.
"I think I saw him walk out of one of the nearby buildings before," Ruka said.
"Yeah I go here but I don't take some of the other classes like the others do, I think my girlfriend is in Chizurus class though," he said.
"Hi," she said waving.
"Hes right, but I recognize you from somewhere too," Chizuru said looking confused.
"Yeah I'm not surprised you don't remember me, its been a long time since I was a client," he said making them look surprised.
"Wait so you rented Chizuru when she was still working," Ruka said.
"That's right, I actually recognized you when you and your boyfriend or should I say fiance now," he said before nodding his head at the ring, "At the restaurant a few days back,".
"We heard what she said to you," the woman said looking annoyed at Mami.
"Okay but she was," Mami said holding her hands up.
"You know I was one too," she said.
"You were," Chizuru said.
"Yes but like you and your friend I quit when I met my boyfriend," she said.
"Renting you gave me the confidence to find an actual girlfriend, so thank you Chizuru," he said.
"No problem, I was glad I was able to help," Chizuru said smiling.
"As for you," the young woman said looking at Mami who looked surprised, "Being a former rental girlfriend isn't going to affect her acting career, in fact they'll know that she has plenty of acting experience from it," she said.
Mami looked surprised before looking down, "Fine then, you win," she said before she began walking away defeated.
"Thanks for helping us, we were really worried when we didn't know what was going to happen," Kazuya said walking forward as he stood next to Chizuru.
"No problem, congratulations by the way," he said.
"Thanks, good luck to you two as well," Chizuru said. The couple nodded at them before walking away hand in hand.
"Well now with that taken care of theres only one thing to do now," Kibe said looking calm while Sumi looked confused.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
Kibe then smiled, "After class we go celebrate our friends engagement," he said.
"Sounds good to me," Kuri said and Ruka nodded while smiling.
"Well now we have something to look forward to after class," Chizuru said smiling at Kazuya.
"Sounds good," he said smiling back at her. The two of them knowing they were going to be okay.
