Final part: Their future
Years later
In an audition office three people were sitting behind a table as another actress walked out of the room, "Which one was that," the director said resting his head on his hand.
"That was the fifth one, but hopefully you'll be more happy with this last one," the person to his right said while the writer was resting his head on the table.
"The first person was okay and its starting to look like we should go with her," he said before sitting up.
"I'm not so sure, a friend of mine was working on a commercial with her and it took her a good few times to remember her lines," the director said before looking at a clip board.
"Who do we have next?" The writer asked before looking confused at the smile on the directors face.
"A daughter of someone famous," he said before nodding his head at the person next to him. He got up from his chair and opened the door.
"Miss Kinoshita were ready for you now," he said while the writer look surprised as young woman with long brown hair walked in. This was Nami Kinoshita, Kazuya and Chizurus daughter and first child.
"Its nice to meet you all, thanks for letting me audition," she said smiling.
"Nami Kinoshita, are you related to Chizuru Kinoshita?" The writer asked.
"Yeah shes my mother," Nami said.
"Given how famous your mother was I'm surprised we haven't seen you in anything yet," the director said looking confused.
"That's because for my mother being an actress was her dream and she wanted me and my brother to choose our own," Nami said before remembering when her family would watch movies her mother was in.
"But after seeing the first movie she was in I was inspired and told her I wanted to be like her," she said calmly.
"Well lets see what you can do," the writer said paying full attention before Nami began to say her lines. Later Nami left while the director and writer looked at each other.
"So what do you think?" The director asked when the writer smiled.
"I think we just found the female lead for the show," he said.
Nami walked out of the building taking a breath before hearing her phone ring and she then took it out of her bag, "Hi dad, yeah I'm finished now and Ill be there soon," she said before heading home.
In a two floor house not far from the store Kazuya worked at with his father. Kazuya walked down the stairs with a box before wiping the sweat from his forehead, "Alright, Chris do you have the last box," he said looking up the stairs.
"I got it," Chris, Kazuya and Chizurus son said from up the stairs. Like Nami looked a lot like her mother, Chris looked a lot like his father.
"Here," Chizuru said handing her husband a bottle of water.
"Thanks," Kazuya said as she gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"I hope I'm not late," Nami said opening the door.
"Theres our soon to be actress," Chizuru said hugging her.
"Mom I'm not an actress yet, I don't even know if I got the part yet," Nami said looking embarrassed.
"I don't know, you did really well in your school plays," Kazuya said smiling.
"Dad," Nami said.
"Hey sis how did the audition go," Chris said walking down the stairs with the last box for moving into his apartment for college. He was going into game developing thanks to playing the games his mother did voice acting for. On more then one occasion Chizuru had come home to see him playing a game with Kazuya. Sometimes she would see Nami play some as well back when she was a teenager.
"Alright, you ready to live on your own," Nami said.
"Yeah I'm going to get this done," Chris said looking determined.
"Well make sure to remember to come home for Christmas," Kazuya said looking calm.
"This is almost like when I moved out for college," Nami thought.
"You may look calm now but you were upset last night about our little boy growing up so fast," Chizuru said smiling while Kazuya looked away embarrassed.
"Well yeah," Kazuya said while Chizuru and Nami laughed.
"But remember dad Nami called us the same night she moved in," Chris said.
"I had only just moved out of home," Nami said looking embarrassed.
"Alright you two lets get a move on," Chizuru said smiling before they carried the boxes into the moving truck. They then drove to the apartment building where Chris would be staying.
"Well this place really had changed a lot," Kazuya said as he got out of the truck. The building had changed but Kazuya still recognized it as the building where he and Chizuru met.
"To bad I couldn't stay here for my college years," Nami said as Chris opened the back of the truck.
"Wait is that another moving truck," he said looking at the truck across from them.
"Must be someone else moving in today as well," Kazuya said before they started walking up the stairs with boxes.
"Hey it looks like whoever's moving is your neighbor," Nami said before looking surprised at a familiar male walking out.
"Kibe," Kazuya said looking surprised to see his friend.
"Kazuya, Chizuru," he said looking surprised.
"Hi uncle Kibe," Nami said waving.
"Hey Nami, wait Chris your moving into this building as well," Kibe said looking surprised.
"Yeah, wait is," Chris said before a much older Sumi and a young woman walked outside. The young woman was Kibe and Sumis daughter Lucy.
"Chris," she said looking surprised.
"Uh hey Lucy," Chris said waving.
"Oh which apartment are you moving into," Sumi said.
"Uh this one," Chris said pointing at the one next to Lucys.
"Well looks like were neighbors," Lucy said smiling.
"Yeah looks like it," Chris said with his face a little red. Since their parents were close they hung around a lot as kids. They even went to the same school together.
"Looks like this your chance," Nami said loking at Chris.
"Would you shut up," he said looking annoyed while Nami laughed.
"Yeah whys your face going red Chris," Kibe said looking serious at Chris who looked nervous.
"Nothing," he said smiling nervously.
"Dad don't be mean to him," Lucy said looking a little annoyed.
"Okay I wont be to harsh," Kibe said with his mood completely changing.
"You must really care about Chris to speak up for him like that," Sumi said while her daughters face almost went as red as Chris's.
"Mom please don't," she said while Sumi just smiled.
Much later the Kinoshtias were in Chris's apartment as he unpacked his bags. Nami was unpacking one box when she came across a photo. It was when Chris was two years old and it was Christmas. She was sitting next to her mother while Chris was sitting between their parents smiling. Kazuyas father and Mother were sitting next to Kazuya.
"Well that takes me back," Chizuru said.
"Mom, you had Chris after you retired from acting right," Nami said.
"That's right," Chizuru said smiling.
"Why'd you stop, I may not remember much but dad was fine when you were away," she said. There were few times when she was a kid her mother would leave for a few days to play part in a movie. But much later she started to focus more on voice acting then acting before eventually retiring.
"I know but I missed my family too," Chizuru said as she looked at the photo. She remembered one time when she came home late in the evening and found the house quiet. Reason being that her husband and daughter were asleep on the couch. She had noticed her daughters drawings on the table and noticed she had drawn the three of them together. Then Nami had woken up and hugged her mother. Kazuya had woken up next and Chizuru felt happy for getting home.
"I made sure that I didn't go far, but the more I was gone the more I missed the two of you," Chizuru said, "So after one last movie I decided I wanted to focus on family," she said. Not long after she had retired she found out she was pregnant with Chris.
"Did you feel sad when you stopped?" Nami asked and Chizuru shook her head no.
"I was able to become an actress and I wouldn't have gotten that far without your fathers support," she said smiling at Kazuya who was helping their son set up his tv, "So I'm happy with the way things ended up,".
"Do you think I can be as good as you," Nami said looking down before her mother hugged her.
"You worked hard throughout college and done well in your acting classes," Chizuru said before looking at her daughter, "I know you can do it," she said.
Nami looked determined as she nodded her head. A few days later Chris was leaving his apartment for college when Lucy walked out from next door, "Hey morning Lucy," Chris said walking over.
"Morning Chris," she said.
"Listen, do you want to walk together," he said rubbing the back of his head.
"Yeah sure," Lucy said.
"Also if it would be okay, do you want to go out to eat sometime, just the two of us," Chris said with his face a little red.
Lucy looked a little surprised before smiling as she stood next to him, "I'd like that," she said and he smiled at her. The two of them then headed towards college, together.
Far away in a studio Kazuya and Chizuru were with Nami as they headed towards a large building where the tv show would be filming, "Does this feel familiar," Kazuya said looking at Chizuru.
"It does bring back memories," Chizuru said smiling before they walked in and she noticed a familiar face, "Umi hi," she said.
"Chizuru, been a while since Ive seen you on a set, nice to see you too Kazuya," Umi said.
"Good, hows Dean doing," Kazuya said.
"Actually hes going to be working with Nami as the male lead," Umi said before a young man walked over holding a script.
"Hey dad I'm all good," he said before looking surprised.
"Hey Dean, wow you've really grown up since the last time I seen you," said Chizuru. Unlike Chizuru Umi still continued his acting career while having a family.
"Uh hi miss Kinoshita," Dean said nervously since he had been a fan of her when he was kid.
"Didn't you always want her autograph," Umi said making his son look embarrassed.
Dean then looked at Nami, "Hi I guess were going to be working together," he said holding out his hand.
"Looking forward to it," Nami said shaking his hand smiling and Dean smiled back at her.
"Why don't you two go over your lines," Umi said getting their attention.
"Uh yes sir," Nami said before looking down.
"Just Umi is fine, you two take care," Umi said to Kazuya and Chizuru who nodded.
"I guess ill talk to you later," Nami said.
"Good luck, I know you'll do great," Kazuya said smiling.
"Make sure to do your best," Chizuru said.
"Thanks," Nami said.
"I can show you around if that's okay," Dean said.
"Sure, this is my first role after all," Nami said before the two of them walked further into the building while Kazuya and Chizuru smiled at each other before walking out.
As they walked out on the street Kazuya got a message on his phone, "Kuri and Ruka just took Natsu to school and want to meet up," he said.
"Sounds fun, Ill text Sumi if she and Kibe want to join us, its been a while since all of us hung out together," Chizuru said as she took out her phone.
"Sounds good," Kazuya said smiling and his wife smiled back at him before sending the text. The two of them then walked hand in hand, knowing there was a good future ahead for their children as they continued their lives together.
