Chapter 21
John was taken down to the Hole where he was meant to meet his end. Roman, Seth, Jameson and Luke were pushing and shoving John along laughing and carrying on like they were old friends.
"You're not live to see another sunrise, John," Seth taunted.
"No, he's not," Jameson added. "Ramirez and myself enjoyed killing the others, However, I, personally, will enjoy doing away with this punk even more."
"You're sadistic, Jameson," Roman commented. "You and Ramirez both."
Jameson chuckled. "How are we doing this?"
"We soften him up as usual," Roman said.
"Then, he's easy pickings for you," Seth added.
"Wait a minute," Luke piped in. "What about me? You promised I could get first dibs."
"We did," Jameson said matter of factly. "Guys, give Luke what he wants."
Roman and Seth shoved John into the clutches of Luke Harper. He slammed John back-first against the cement wall.
"Come closer, men, just in case he tries to make a dash for it. Although, I doubt he'll have a chance to get away."
The three men gathered around; Jameson on Luke's left, Seth on the right, Roman behind.
"Look into my eyes, boy," Luke said. "It's all about to end. It's just...about...over. Are you ready?"
John took a deep breath through his nose. Luke balled up his right fist, pulled his arm back, then swung.
His fist connected hard with Jameson's face knocking him out instantly. He turned and landed another knock-out punch to Roman. John tackled Seth to the floor and started pounding away on him. Seth landed a punch of his own to John's kidney's causing him to roll away. Seth made it to his feet and went for a kick. However, John blocked it and socked Seth hard in the stomach. John made it to his feet and kneed Seth in the face rocking him back. To finish the job, John landed a front kick to Seth's face knocking him against the wall. He slumped down to the floor in a heap.
John panted after the little brawl in the hall and locked eyes with his former partner from Dayton, Ohio.
"Nice work, John Shaw."
"You didn't do so bad yourself, Brodie Lee. But, two punches was all it took from you? You're making me look bad."
"I like to get the job done," Brodie Lee stated.
They worked together handcuffing all 3 men and loading their unconscious bodies into a near-by empty cell. John grabbed the gun from Seth's belt. He unloaded the clip to check it. It was full.
"12 rounds," he stated sliding the clip back into place.
Brodie found a phone in Jameson's pants pocket and tossed it to John.
"Call it in,"
-Captain Mark Calaway was sitting around in a near by run-down apartment duplex with the officers from Cleveland and Dayton. He was going over the files of the murdered inmates when his cellphone rang. He rose from his spot at the table and stepped away to take the call. He didn't recognize the number, but he answered anyway.
"Hello?"
"Captain Calaway, it's John."
"John! Thank God!"
"Captain, there's no time to chat. No time to explain. You and your men need to get down here to the jail. Now. Something is about to go down. You need to get here."
"GUYS! We need to move! To the jailhouse! NOW!" Mark turned his attention to John on the other end of the line. "Where are you?"
"The lower level of the prison; the Hole. It's where the inmates lost their lives, and if I don't hurry, one more might lose his life also. I have to go."
"We're headed there now. We'll be there in less than 3 minutes."
"Hurry! Please!"
-John disconnected the phone call and tossed the phone aside.
"Brodie, are you sure you can handle things here?"
"Trust me, John. Things are good here. Go save Shawn."
Gun cocked, John began heading down the hall to save Shawn Michaels. He hoped, and prayed, that itwasn't too late.
