Chapter Ten

Sakura's first kiss

Sakura frowned and looked at her friend, quite sure that she hadn't heard right.

"Ha ha, you're so funny," she snorted, grimacing.

"I mean it, you wouldn't feel nervous with me... would you? And, this way, when the moment comes, you'll know what you have to do and what to expect."

She bit her lower lip, hesitating.

"But... it'll be so weird to kiss you, I don't know if I can do it."

Syaoran furrowed his brow.

"Am I ugly or what?" he asked, lifting one eyebrow.

Sakura rolled her eyes.

"No, you're so handsome, maybe the most handsome of the whole class."

He was smiling again.

"Come on, give me a kiss. But no tongue."

She made a face.

"Are you kidding or what! That would be so creepy."

Both of them laughed and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Just do it, kiss me. Close your eyes and don't think about me," Syaoran said in a low voice.

Sakura got closer and glared at his lips.

He grabbed his friend's arms and put them around his own neck.

"Do this whenever you are kissing a guy, so you'll be closer."

She nodded, letting out a nervous giggle.

"Can you do it or not?" he whispered, raising a brow.

"What if Meiling hears about it? or Martha? They'll think they were right and that I've always fancied you."

Martha was Syaoran's last love affair, she was in the classroom next to theirs.

They were together just a month, sharing kisses and shagging several times but nothing else, Syaoran didn't like her enough and stopped dating her.

But, though it was a short and meaningless thing, Martha also was jealous of Sakura.

"They'll never know, it will be our secret," he murmured, wrapping his arms around Sakura's waist.

She sighed and they looked at each other's eyes.

"Just don't think and kiss me," Syaoran said.

Sakura sat closer to him, until their noses touched, but she was still not sure.

"You are the first girl I ask to kiss me, and I've said it three times now."

She laughed quietly.

"I'm doing it, stop rushing me," she grumbled.

Syaoran didn't say a word and stared at her eyes. With another sigh, Sakura closed her eyes and broke the last inches between them.

She kissed Syaoran's lips, and he parted them to return the kiss.

Sakura moved her lips over his, tightening her arms around his neck. He also hugged her firmly and focused on kissing her.

Twenty seconds later, Sakura pulled away when she felt his teeth on her lower lip.

"Hey! You bit me!"

Syaoran was laughing at her.

"It was a joke. By the way, you're not bad at it. You have followed my rhythm."

Her cheeks flushed a little.

"You're not bad at it either, I liked it. It's nice."

"Nice? My kisses are brutal, lady," he replied, playing the offended one.

He grabbed Sakura's hands again, which were still around his neck, and pushed them up to his hair.

"You can also do this, I like when the girl touches my hair while she kisses me. And, if you dare, you can run your hands down his back."

Sakura made a face and tangled her fingers in his hair, pulling softly.

"This is enough for my first kiss, I'll leave touching the back for the second one."

He arched a brow.

"No, the next one will be the second one. Your first kiss has been with me."

"This didn't count," she protested, frowning.

Syaoran laughed again and pushed her until he was lying on top of her.

"Of course it counts, I have your first kiss and I'll always have it," he said, starting to tickle her.

Sakura huffed and pushed him away.

"You're a cheater," she grunted.

Both chuckled and Sakura got closer again, hugging him.

"Thanks for helping me, I think I won't be that nervous when I kiss a guy."

Syaoran smirked and kissed her on the forehead.

"I'm glad. If you stay calm when you're doing it, everything will be so much better."

Sakura sighed.

"At least, my first kiss wasn't with a prat."

She heard Syaoran's giggling next to her ear.

"Yeah, at least it was with me," he mumbled with a funny voice.

Days continued to pass, it was almost time for the classes to end and the summer holidays to begin.

All the fourth-year students organised something to spend time together before they parted ways, many of them would not continue studying at the same high school the following year and they wanted to say goodbye.

They met again at Takashi's house, with drinks and bags of snacks. Sakura arrived with Tomoyo and Chiharu, greeting everyone.

Someone hugged her from behind as she poured herself a glass of sparkling wine and her body tensed, but she immediately relaxed as she smelled Syaoran's cologne.

"Today you are very pretty... is it because Joshua is here too?" He asked her with a crooked smile.

Sakura blushed.

"Maybe," she replied, turning to look at him.

She saw that Eriol was next to Syaoran. Sakura knew him quite well because he went out with them a lot and the two of them got along. She came over to greet him, asking how he was doing with the latest exams. Syaoran smiled and held them both by their shoulders.

"I love that my two best friends get along so well," he told them, arching both eyebrows.

The three of them laughed and Sakura walked away from them to bring Tomoyo another glass of wine. She had already learned that she couldn't drink more than three glasses or she got too dizzy, plus Syaoran wouldn't let her do it.

Syaoran walked over with Eriol to greet Takashi and the others, staying away from Meiling and Martha.

After a while, some of their friends began to play 'pass the ice'. Tomoyo giggled at the sight of them, put an ice cube between her teeth and challenged Sakura to remove it. She did it, not even touching her friend's lips because the ice was quite big.

Sakura passed it to Chiharu and she winked at Takashi, who reached over to remove it. Sakura continued drinking while she watched them. Such a stupid thing to do, but it was very funny. When the ice was small, they threw it away and took another.

"Hey, Sakura... do you dare to take the ice from Syaoran?" Takashi asked with a mocking laugh.

Sakura turned around and saw that a mischievous grin was on Syaoran's face.

"Syaoran doesn't like passing the ice, Takashi," Eriol replied.

"I'll do it with Sakura," he said, taking an ice cube from his glass.

He popped it into his mouth and showed it to Sakura. It was a small piece of ice and he was holding it between his teeth.

Tomoyo and Chiharu started giggling.

"Sakura can't do it," Chiharu muttered.

She looked at her friends seriously.

"Of course I can," she growled, moving closer to Syaoran.

She bit the ice, brushing his lips in the process. She jerked it off and chewed it, looking at her best friend with a raised eyebrow and listening to the laughter of the others.

"You thought I wouldn't dare because it was a small one, right?" She asked, amused.

Syaoran smirked and walked over to her.

"I thought so, but you have surprised me. Besides... now I also have your second kiss," he whispered close to her ear.

Sakura scowled at him and snorted, making him laugh.

"The third one has to be with him," Syaoran said in a low voice, pointing at Joshua with his eyes.

Sakura blushed and shook her head.

"Yes, you have to tell him this week. It's your last chance, Sakura."

She sighed and looked into his eyes.

"Okay, I'm going to do as you say. But I think he doesn't like me that way," she murmured softly.

Syaoran patted her on the shoulder.

"You don't know that. And, if it's not with him, it will be with some boy from the camp, I'm sure," he said before returning to Eriol.

Sakura finished her glass in one gulp and sighed. That Friday would be the last time she would see Joshua, she had to try.

She was also excited about the camp. Tomoyo had already gone other years and had told her about everything they did there, and that she gave her first kiss to a boy she met in that place the year before.

The place where they were going to stay for the night was near the beach, and they would be spending a whole day there. On the trip, they were accompanied by several teachers and there would be a huge room full of bunk beds where all the girls would sleep. The boys would be in another room just as big, downstairs.

Syaoran looked at Sakura, she had just started to drink her second glass of wine and was chatting with Chiharu and Takashi. She was no longer as shy and introverted as she was when he met her, and he hoped that was thanks to his help.

Besides, Syaoran planned to watch her so no one ever messed with her again. He would not allow it, Sakura had already suffered enough in her other high school and, if he could protect her, he would do it.

But Syaoran had also gotten her to react and not stay quiet when someone said something she didn't like, and that was great.
