Chapter Twenty-five

A little fit of jealousy

Summer was approaching. They were in their last weeks of school before they had to take the exam to enter the university.

Sakura and Syaoran's relationship was still a secret, the only ones who knew about it were Yelan and Touya.

Whenever Syaoran went to the Kinomoto's house, Touya wouldn't take his eyes off him for a second.

He watched his every move slyly so that his parents wouldn't notice him, and when they weren't there, he would go into Sakura's room and lie down on the bed to study next to the couple and keep an eye on them.

That bothered Syaoran a lot, and Sakura had argued several times with her brother so that he would let them study alone. But Touya refused, not wanting to leave them unaccompanied even for a moment.

The few times Syaoran slept on their couch in the living room, Touya threatened him.

"If I see you trying to sneak into my sister's room at night, I'll tell my parents everything and you'll never be able to come into this house again."

Syaoran gritted his teeth and didn't answer him. Anyway, he wasn't crazy enough to try to sleep with Sakura in that house. And they couldn't in his either, Yelan wouldn't let them and they kept their promise not to.

"As if we needed a bed to have sex," Syaoran snorted one afternoon.

They were in his living room, sitting on the sofa with their History notebooks in hand.

"Don't complain anymore. It's normal that your mother doesn't want us to sleep in the same bed," Sakura replied, sighing.

"But... I miss sleeping with you."

Sakura left the notebook aside and approached Syaoran, hugging him.

"Me too."

He sighed, wrapping his arms around her.

"In a few months we'll be university students, we'll live in Tokyo and I'll be able to sleep with you whenever I want. Our parents won't be around to stop us."

Sakura smiled, placing a kiss on Syaoran's neck. As she pulled away from him, she saw that his face was a little sad.

"What's wrong?" she asked, stroking his cheek with her hand.

"It's nothing important."

He looked back down at his notebook and Sakura snorted.

"Everything that happens to you matters to me. Tell me about it," she said, clasping one of her hands in his.

He glanced at their joined hands and sighed.

"I... I regret it so much," he muttered under his breath.

Sakura blanched.

"Do you regret being with me?" she asked in a trembling voice.

Syaoran looked at her with wide eyes.

"What? Don't talk nonsense! It's not that, I regret... I regret not waiting for you."

Sakura frowned.

"I don't understand what you mean."

He rolled his eyes, sighing again.

"I regret not being a virgin. I would have liked to share that experience with you."

Sakura reddened violently and her heart skipped a beat. She never expected it when Syaoran said things like that all of a sudden.

"I... actually, I would have liked you to be a virgin too," she admitted quietly.

Syaoran looked her in the eye.

"I'm not saying this to pressure you or anything. It's just what I was thinking."

Sakura leaned her head on his shoulder.

"I know, you're so patient with me. We've been together for three months and you haven't even touched me yet."

"I've touched you, liar."

They both laughed.

"Practically nothing, and that's very unlike you," she said.

Syaoran held Sakura's head with one hand, making her turn it so he could kiss her lips.

"You're special so I'll wait for as long as you need. Even if you want to wait until we're older and married, I'm fine with that."

Sakura felt an icy shiver run down her spine.

"Are we getting married?" she asked in a nervous voice.

Syaoran smirked.

"When we finish university and we both find jobs... yes, I'll marry you."

She was still very surprised, but smiled back at him.

"Have you really thought about that?"

"Of course, I know you're the one. I've thought about it since we started to date."

Sakura lowered her gaze, embarrassed by his words.

"I think the same way, Syaoran. I don't want to be with anyone but you."

He growled and bent down slightly to grab her legs, pulling her up and sitting her on his lap. Sakura let out a small cry of surprise and clutched at his shoulder, notebook still in her right hand.

"Don't tell me those things or I won't let you study," he muttered, crashing their lips together.

She closed her eyes and kissed him back, parting her lips. They both laughed when they heard the notebook fall to the floor, but they didn't stop kissing.

Sakura tangled her hands in his hair and pulled him closer, deepening the kiss. He nibbled at her lower lip and she sighed. Sakura loved it when he did that, it brought back memories of her first kiss with him when they were just friends.

Syaoran had one of his hands on her back and the other on her throat, where he gently stroked her skin as he continued to explore her lips. She pulled away a few millimetres, just enough for her to speak.

"You won't have to wait that long."

This time, it was Syaoran who became nervous.

"No?"

"No, I'm not as much of a nun as you think. When I feel ready, I'll tell you," she said, moving to place one leg on either side of Syaoran's body and sitting on top of him.

She kissed him again with great passion, gasping when she noticed a lump forming under her.

"You know I can't help it when you're this close to me," Syaoran murmured softly.

Sakura snorted, smacking him in the chest.

"I've told you many times not to worry about it. I like to see that you're attracted to me enough."

Syaoran frowned.

"Enough?" he repeated, slightly annoyed.

He got up with Sakura in his arms and threw her onto the sofa, lying on top of her.

"I'm more attracted to you than I've ever been to anyone, I want you so much. Don't ever say I'm attracted to you 'enough' or I'll rape you," he growled, staring into her eyes.

Sakura laughed.

"You'll rape me?"

"Yes, I will if you dare say it again."

He kissed her furiously for a few minutes. Sakura wrapped her arms around his back, slipping one of her hands under his shirt so she could touch his skin and shuddered as she felt his whole body against hers. Syaoran pulled away a little, kissing her forehead.

"I'm just kidding, I would never do anything like that to you."

"I know it's a joke, Syaoran. You don't have to say it," Sakura replied with a chuckle.

He nipped her neck and got off of her, sitting back down on the sofa. She sat up as well, still breathing heavily from Syaoran's kisses.

Sakura picked up her notebook from the floor and opened it again, looking sideways at Syaoran as she bit her bottom lip.

"Don't look at me like that or I'll pounce on you again," he warned her, not looking at her.

They both giggled and resumed studying for the history exam they had that week.

When Yelan returned, Syaoran took Sakura to Tomoeda on his motorbike and dropped her off at the front gate of her house. He winked at her before leaving and she entered the house feeling happy.

She was more and more in love with her best friend every day.

A week later, they were all in front of the school gates at recess time, chatting while they ate something.

Sakura was leaning against the gate with Tomoyo on one side and Chiharu on the other, while Naoko and Meiling were standing in front of them. Not far away, Syaoran was sitting on the bonnet of a car with Takashi and another of his friends around him.

The bell was about to ring and some groups of students began to make their way down the street to enter the school. Out of the corner of her eye, Sakura saw a group of girls stop next to where Syaoran was standing.

Looking closer, she could see that one of them was Akiho and she was talking to Syaoran in a very affectionate attitude. Sakura felt her blood burn in her veins when she saw her raise a hand and stroke Syaoran's cheek.

She turned her head to look away before she did something that would compromise their secret, but her friends noticed that something was wrong with her. She missed Syaoran stopping Akiho's hand and asking her not to touch him again with a serious gesture.

"What's with that face, Sakura? What's wrong with you?" Chiharu asked quizzically.

She took a deep breath, trying to control herself.

"Nothing. I remembered the fight I had with Touya yesterday and I got angry."

"You two are always arguing, now that Touya's older I thought you'd get along better," Tomoyo said.

"Well, nothing's changed so far," she replied, relieved to see that they have bought her lie.

She shot one last poisoned glance at the group Syaoran was with and walked into the school with her friends. If he was going to play along with the girls who approached him... she knew how to do that too.

Syaoran entered the school a minute later, walking up the stairs with his friends. As he entered the classroom, he was surprised to see Sakura sitting on Hiro's desk, talking to him.

He sat down at his and watched her out of the corner of his eye, frowning as he saw her smiling widely and touching her hair as if she was flirting. The Chemistry teacher walked in and Sakura stood up, sitting down in front of Syaoran.

"May I know what you were doing?" he asked quietly.

Sakura turned her head slightly, glaring at him.

"The same thing you were doing with Akiho."

"What?"

She put a finger to her lips asking for silence, and looked at the teacher again. Syaoran clenched his fists and snorted, though he soon realised that Sakura had been jealous, and that was why she was acting like that.

In the two class exchanges, Sakura got up very quickly to go talk to Tomoyo and avoid Syaoran. When the bell rang announcing the end of the day, she felt hands grabbing her shoulders from behind to prevent her from getting up.

"Don't go. We need to talk," Syaoran whispered.

She frowned and let out a small grunt, but gathered her things slowly to make time for the others to leave the classroom. When it was just the two of them, Syaoran stood in front of her.

"You know Hiro likes you and you were flirting with him in front of my face. Explain that to me."

Sakura also stood up, looking at him with a spark of hatred shining in her green eyes.

"No, you first explain to me why Akiho was touching you."
