Chapter Twenty-six

Stealing kisses

Syaoran twisted his head slightly as he saw Sakura's green eyes full of fury, smirking.

"You're jealous."

She clenched her fists, feeling anger burning in her gut. Syaoran pushed her until she had to sit on her desk, placing himself between her legs.

"If you had kept looking, you would have seen that I pulled away and told her not to touch me again," he whispered very close to her lips.

Sakura opened her eyes wide in surprise.

"Really?" she asked, feeling all her anger disappear.

"Of course. Do you think I want to be touched by someone other than you?" he replied, frowning.

She smiled and leaned in to kiss him, but Syaoran moved away.

"But you were flirting with Hiro. I saw the way you were making eyes at him and I felt like hitting him," he growled, glaring at her.

She looked down, sighing.

"I was mad at you and wanted to do something to piss you off."

"When something bothers you, just tell me. But don't try to make me jealous, Sakura... that's very immature and I can get really mad at you for things like that."

She frowned.

"I've never been in a relationship, all these feelings are new to me and I don't know how to control them. If that means I'm immature, then I am."

His lips curved upward as he rested his hands on the table on either side of Sakura, bringing their faces to the same height.

"That's what I'm here for. Come and talk to me before you do something stupid. Besides, you're supposed to trust me and know that you're the only girl I'm interested in... don't you?"

She sighed, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"You're right... I shouldn't be jealous, but I couldn't help it."

Syaoran nuzzled her cheek with the tip of his nose.

"I partly understand you, I'd be jealous too if you had the same background as me. And... I like to see you jealous."

Sakura was about to protest again, but Syaoran silenced her with a kiss. She let herself go for a few seconds until she pulled away, startled.

"They can see us," she muttered under her breath.

Syaoran shook his head and his eyes twinkled.

"We're alone, the cleaners start on the lower floors and this is the first floor. It'll be a while before anyone comes this way."

He kissed her again before Sakura could speak.

She let out a small moan as Syaoran held her tightly, passionately invading her mouth. An electric shiver ran through Sakura's body every time he nibbled on her lower lip and when their tongues brushed against each other, making her shudder more than once and forget everything.

Syaoran also felt a tingling sensation when Sakura pulled his hair a little, slipping one of her hands through the collar of his shirt to caress his shoulder and back. She began to feel very hot, it was as if there was no oxygen left.

She had to pull a few millimetres away from Syaoran in order to breathe. He stared at her, very agitated.

"One of my fantasies was to kiss you in class."

Sakura smiled and hugged him tighter, brushing their lips together again for a few seconds.

"Do you have a lot of fantasies?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"With you? Thousands... maybe millions."

She blushed a little, not knowing what to answer. Syaoran chuckled softly, biting her cheek.

"Someday we'll fulfill them all," he said, stepping aside so she could stand up.

He took her hand and the two walked out of the classroom together.

"They're going to see us," she repeated as she watched their clasped hands.

"I think I don't care," Syaoran replied, but let go of her hand as they started down the stairs.

"Just two days and we'll be free."

In two days they would no longer be high school students and wouldn't have to go back there. Syaoran smiled back, stroking her cheek. They were already on the street.

"It's not just two days. We'll have to keep pretending until the entrance exam... and then we'll have to think about who we're going to tell."

Sakura rolled her eyes, snorting with annoyance.

"In September, we'll be living in Tokyo and we'll be free."

"Have you already decided what you're going to study?" Syaoran asked, opening the seat of the motorbike to pull out his helmet.

"Not yet... I don't think I'll decide until I know my grades."

"Well, I think I want to be a teacher."

Sakura looked at him in amazement.

"A teacher? But you hate school and you hate studying."

"If you're the teacher, you don't study. Besides, I really like English and I wouldn't mind teaching others," he answered, shrugging.

Sakura's mind flashed an image of Syaoran a few years older, being a teacher in a classroom. She also imagined the gaze of all the female students on him and she didn't like that so much anymore.

"What are you thinking about? You've become very serious," he said, sitting down on the motorbike.

"I imagined you as a teacher, with all the students after you. You'd love that," Sakura growled, feeling annoyed.

Syaoran looked up and down the street, making sure there was no one he knew, pulled Sakura to him with one arm and kissed her deeply.

When they stopped, she couldn't even remember why she had been angry.

"No matter how many girls there are around me... I only want you, always remember that."

Sakura smiled, feeling stupid again for being jealous. He put on his helmet and winked at her before heading home.

She didn't move until Syaoran's motorbike disappeared into the distance.

Sakura walked home and when she got there, she went up to her room, plopped down on her bed and sighed, staring at the starry ceiling. Soon after her phone rang, and when she looked at it she saw that she had a message from Syaoran.

Syaoran: Stop thinking about me and start studying. If you do well on our remaining exams, I promise to surprise you.

Sakura snorted.

"He knows me too well," she muttered as she answered him.

Sakura: Don't be so full of yourself, I don't spend the day thinking about you. But I want that surprise, so I'll study hard this afternoon.

She got out of bed, sitting down at her desk. As he was opening his maths book his mobile phone rang again.

Syaoran: Liar, you're always thinking about me... and it's the same for me, since I fell in love I can't get you out of my head. But we have to study so we can go to Tokyo together! See you tomorrow!

Sakura smiled and put the phone aside, trying to concentrate on the integrals she had to review.

Classes ended and graduation arrived.

Several students couldn't help but shed some tears as they said goodbye to the school where they had spent so many years, including Tomoyo and Sakura.

Once the ceremony was over, everyone shared some food and drink in the school's huge courtyard. The parents of almost all the students were there. Touya, Fujitaka and Nadeshiko were there, just like Yelan, who spent most of the afternoon talking with Nadeshiko.

Sakura was around a table with her friends, eating and drinking a soft drink.

Even though she was of age, her parents didn't allow her to drink anything with alcohol in it and she felt their gazes on her from time to time, keeping an eye on her to make sure she didn't go near the forbidden drinks.

She rested her head on Syaoran's shoulder, who was standing next to her.

"We've graduated," she murmured with a smile.

Syaoran glanced sideways at her.

"Finally," he replied, kissing her forehead.

Syaoran felt a hand on his shoulder and turned, meeting his mother.

"I want to take some pictures of you all," she said, showing the camera she had in her hand.

Tomoyo, Chiharu, Takashi and the others squeezed in so they could all be in the picture. Yelan took three different ones of the whole group from different angles.

"Now just the two of you," she asked, pointing at Sakura and her son.

Syaoran stepped a little away from the others, holding Sakura by the waist. She couldn't help but blush a little. Syaoran was dressed in a suit and Sakura was wearing a knee-length golden dress. They didn't have any pictures together so dressed up.

Yelan took three more pictures and winked at them before returning to Nadeshiko's side.

Soon after, almost all the parents left. The students stayed a little longer at the school. As it was getting dark, Sakura and her group of friends decided to go home.

"We'll celebrate in a big way when we're done with the entrance exam," Takashi said, who was carrying Chiharu on his back while she was laughing her head off.

"Yes, in two weeks we all have to go out together," Tomoyo added with a big smile on her face.

"Shall I take you home?" Syaoran asked, looking at Sakura.

"Okay, but you can't run too much or my skirt will lift up."

The two said goodbye to the others and walked to where he had left his bike. Sakura put on her helmet, holding tightly to his waist and trying to hold her skirt with her legs so that it wouldn't move.

She was surprised to see that Syaoran, instead of heading downtown, started up a hill towards the outskirts of the city.

"Where are we going?" she asked, not knowing if he would be able to hear her over the helmet.

"To get your surprise!" Syaoran replied, shouting.

She didn't ask anything else and let herself go. She trusted him, even if it made her a little nervous not knowing what he had planned. Sakura closed her eyes and leaned against his back, enjoying his body heat.

She didn't open them until she noticed the motorbike had stopped. Then she took off her helmet, looking around with her mouth open.

"What is this place, Syaoran?"
