Chapter Thirty-one

Reuniting

The first few days in Tokyo had been amazing. The three friends had toured the city centre, taken the underground to learn their way to the university and bought enough food to last them for almost a month.

Almost every day they met for lunch or dinner with Eriol and Takashi, who were already settled in their own flat. The only one missing was Syaoran.

The boys lived about a twenty-five minute walk from the girls' flat, but they were close enough to the university that they could walk there if they wanted to.

It was Friday night and the five of them were preparing dinner together in the girl's flat. Sakura finished setting the table and sighed as she watched Eriol hug Tomoyo while she was preparing the ramen.

Tomoyo heard her sigh and turned to look at her.

"You miss him, huh?"

Sakura blushed slightly, nodding.

"Don't worry, you'll have him here tomorrow," Eriol said with a grin.

She smiled back at him, sitting down on one of the cushions they had placed around the low table where they were going to have dinner.

"I've never gone two whole months without seeing him," Sakura murmured, leaning her elbows on the table and sighing again.

"I don't know if I could last that long," Takashi replied, sitting down next to her.

Sakura shrugged.

"If you had no choice, you would," Chiharu said.

Takashi snorted.

"Don't go away for so long ever and problem solved."

His girlfriend smiled and started eating, the five of them were already around the table. They kept chatting until they finished everything and, after cleaning everything, Sakura said goodbye to her friends.

"They are going to sleep over, Sakura. Do you think your parents put hidden cameras around the flat?" Tomoyo asked in a mocking voice.

Sakura rolled her eyes.

"I can see them doing it if they know boys are coming here... Ugh, it's so wonderful to be away from them," she growled in response.

Her four friends laughed and Sakura went into her room, closing the door. She lay down on the bed and sighed, sinking her face into the pillow. Shortly after, she rolled over onto her side, picking up the phone from the bedside table to look at it.

She read again the message Syaoran had sent her over twelve hours ago, telling her that he was about to board the plane. If she wasn't wrong, he would be landing in Tokyo in less than two hours.

She had argued with him because she wanted to meet him at the airport, but Syaoran didn't think it was a good idea. He didn't want her wandering around the city alone in the wee hours of the morning, and he also refused to see her for a few minutes and then have to say goodbye as he left for Tomoeda.

When they did see each other, he wanted them to be able to stay together... so she had to wait until Syaoran arrived in Tokyo with his mother the next day.

Sakura sent him a message welcoming him to Japan so he would see it once he landed and hugged her pillow to try to sleep, though she was quite nervous.

Sakura opened one eye and saw that there was already a lot of light in her room. She looked at the phone screen, surprised that the alarm hadn't gone off yet, and her eyes widened when she saw the time.

It was almost eleven in the morning. Her alarm should have gone off at half past nine, but it hadn't.

She read the two messages she had from Syaoran, the first said that he was half an hour away from Tokyo and he had sent her another one a few minutes ago, saying that she must have overslept because she didn't show any signs of life.

She answered him very quickly and ran to the shower, swearing under her breath. Her two friends were in the living room, already dressed.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" Sakura asked before locking herself in the bathroom.

She heard Tomoyo's giggle and then Chiharu's voice, informing her that they were going to buy college supplies because classes were starting in two days and that they would meet her at the boys' flat later.

Sakura took the quickest shower of her life and got dressed at full speed, running to the nearest underground entrance.

Ten minutes later, she ran up the stairs of the underground station like she was running from a ghost and went to the building where the three boys' flat was located. She rang the intercom and leaned against the wall, trying to catch her breath.

Eriol opened the door for her and she stepped inside, getting into the lift and pressing the tenth floor. She started to get nervous as she watched the numbers go by, she was too anxious to see Syaoran again.

As she stepped out, she saw that the door to their flat was open. Sakura walked in and the first thing she saw was Syaoran standing next to Takashi, taking things out of a cardboard box.

Without thinking, she rushed up to him and wrapped her arms around him. Syaoran was startled at first, he didn't know it was Sakura who was coming up. As soon as he saw her, he hugged her back.

"You are finally here," she murmured, trying to hold back tears of joy.

"And I won't leave again until next summer."

Sakura pulled away from his chest to look into his eyes. She had missed the golden glow of his irises in the mornings too much.

Syaoran brushed her fringes away from her green eyes with one hand and bent down to kiss her. She lost herself between his lips, she felt like she needed that kiss to keep breathing.

They heard a throat clearing.

"Guys, remember that you're not alone... and Yelan is still here," Takashi warned them quietly.

As if she had been shocked, Sakura broke away from Syaoran with a very red face. Yelan stood in the doorframe of Syaoran's room, watching them as she smiled.

"I... sorry," Sakura muttered, embarrassed and looking down.

Syaoran snorted, hugging her again.

"Don't apologise, it's okay," he whispered in her ear.

"Don't worry, Sakura. I like to see you love each other," Yelan said, still smiling.

Sakura smiled too and walked towards Yelan to hug her too, it had been a long time since she had seen her. They spent the rest of the morning together, helping Syaoran set up everything he had brought from Tomoeda.

When the other two girls arrived, they brought enough Chinese food for the seven of them. Once they finished eating, Sakura and Syaoran walked Yelan to the car to say goodbye to her. He promised to visit her whenever he could and Yelan also assured that she would come to the city from time to time to see them all.

As soon as the car was out of sight, Syaoran held Sakura's hand and they walked back into the building.

When the lift doors closed, he pushed her against the mirror and claimed her lips passionately.

Sakura tangled her fingers in his hair and let herself go. It felt like she hadn't been able to be this close to Syaoran in years and his kisses burned. He pulled away from her when the doors opened again, panting softly. Sakura's heart was racing and she could feel some flames under her skin.

Syaoran took her hand again and they entered the flat.

"Don't disturb us," he warned his four friends as they walked to his new room.

"I hope I don't hear you doing dirty things," Takashi muttered, chuckling.

Chiharu nudged him.

"Leave them alone. They haven't seen each other for a long time and it's normal if they want to be alone."

Syaoran closed the door and quickly locked it, pulling Sakura back into his arms.

He walked her backwards and kissed her until they both fell onto the bed.

She let out a small moan as his hands slipped under her clothes, running up her sides and tracing her skin. Syaoran broke the kiss and stared at her intently, causing her to blush.

"Try not to make a sound," he whispered, ravishing her lips again.

Sakura nibbled on his lower lip as she pulled his shirt up, trying to pull it off. Syaoran moved away from her, smirking, and pulled it off with one hand.

She couldn't hold back a sigh at the sight of his body, running her eyes up and down his muscles. Syaoran pounced on her again.

"Fuck, being away from you for so long has been hard," he said against her lips, unbuttoning the shirt Sakura was wearing.

She smiled and pushed him up a little so they could both sit up. She sat on his legs, straddling him, and dug her nails into his back as they devoured each other.

He invaded her mouth, intertwining their tongues and pulling her tighter against his body. Sakura gasped and ran one hand up his neck, running the other down his back to his trousers and slipping her fingers underneath, brushing against his underwear.

Syaoran growled and caressed his thighs over her clothes, running a hand up each one as he continued to kiss her. She pulled away a couple of inches, sighing. Her whole body was on fire and her vision was blurring.

He didn't stop and lowered his head to her throat, leaving several bites and many kisses as he dropped his shirt down her arms, until he was able to pull it off.

"Syaoran, I'm... I'm ready now."

"What?" he asked in confusion, still kissing her shoulders.

Sakura swallowed, feeling her cheeks flaring at what she was about to say.

"I've been thinking about it all summer and now I'm sure... I want to do it with you," she confessed in a whisper.
