Chapter Twenty-two
Epilogue
4 years later
Sakura and Tomoyo were closing the door of their veterinary clinic, which was located on the outskirts of Tokyo.
"What a day... three operations," Tomoyo muttered wearily.
Sakura nudged her.
"Don't complain, you love your job."
"And so do you," she replied, smiling.
"What I like the most is that we work together," said Sakura, winking at her.
They both laughed and walked together to the car. They were looking forward to going home.
As they got out of the car, two small figures ran towards them.
"Mommy!" shrieked one of them, pouncing on Tomoyo.
"How was school, Ichiro?" she asked, hugging him.
The kid looked at her with his big violet eyes, pursing his lips.
"I don't like it. I want Suki to come with me."
Sakura sat up, carrying a blue-eyed little girl who was just over a year old in her arms.
"You know your sister is still too young, until next year you'll have to go alone," she said as Suki tugged at her necklace, where two silver rings dangled.
Ichiro sighed and his eyes filled with tears.
"Don't scold me, Auntie."
Sakura approached him, leaving a kiss on his forehead.
"I'm not scolding you, I'm just asking you to have a little patience. Will you do it for me?"
The kid nodded with a smile.
The two cousins shared a knowing look and walked to the entrance of their cave house city. There, Eriol and Syaoran were waiting for them, sitting on a bench.
Sakura approached him, with Suki in her arms, and kissed him on the lips. The little girl raised her little hands, pulling them apart.
"Mine!" she cried, staring at Syaoran.
He laughed and took her in his arms, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"I have a very jealous little niece," he murmured, glancing at Sakura.
"Enjoy it, she's the only one who can be like that with you," she admitted, smiling.
The four of them went back into the city, walking together to the cave house where Eriol and Tomoyo lived with their two children.
"Then we'll eat together tomorrow, won't we?" Tomoyo asked.
"Of course, we have to celebrate our Alpha's birthday," Eriol replied, raising both eyebrows.
Sakura rolled her eyes.
"Don't call me that, not you guys," she said with pleading eyes.
Eriol and Tomoyo stifled a laugh.
"Do you want us to keep them for a while? So you can eat dinner quietly... and alone," Syaoran muttered.
Tomoyo glanced sideways at Eriol, biting her lower lip.
"You're the best, Syaoran," she whispered as she released Ichiro, who ran into Sakura's arms.
"You'll do the same for us someday," he replied, winking at them.
The two went home, leaving Tomoyo and Eriol alone to enjoy some privacy. They didn't have as much as they wanted since they were parents.
Once they were in their living room, Sakura laid down on the floor with Ichiro to draw something together. She smiled as she saw that the little boy was painting two wolves, one black and one blue.
She looked up and watched Syaoran, who was sitting on the sofa making faces at Suki while she laughed loudly in his lap.
She got to her feet, leaving Ichiro to his drawing, and sat down next to them. Sakura stroked Suki's black hair, which was still very short, and looked Syaoran in the eye.
"I want one."
He frowned and looked at her with a surprised face.
"Are you serious?"
Sakura smiled and looked back at Suki, who was hugging Syaoran.
"Whenever I see how sweet you are with her... I just want one."
"I've wanted one since I saw you for the first time with Ichiro in your arms."
Sakura blushed, arching her eyebrows.
"But it's been more than three years since he was born... Why didn't you tell me?"
Syaoran shrugged.
"I didn't want you to feel pressured."
Her heart raced out of control, and she leaned in to kiss him, ignoring a growl of protest from Suki.
"You're too perfect," she whispered against his lips before pulling away from him.
"So... Are you old enough now?" Syaoran asked.
"I'll be twenty-six tomorrow, and in July you'll be twenty-nine... I think it's a good time."
"I think so too," he said with a smile.
They looked into each other's eyes for a moment without saying anything.
When is your next heat? - Sakura heard in her mind.
In two weeks.
Syaoran arched an eyebrow, giving her a mischievous grin.
I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
She raised both eyebrows several times, making Syaoran laugh.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Sakura got up to open it. Standing in the doorway was a tall, long white haired boy with piercing sky blue eyes.
"Yue! Are you leaving already? You know we like to have you visit and you can stay as long as you want," she said, smiling.
He smiled back at her.
"I must go back now... but this time I won't go alone."
She frowned, quizzical. Yue moved aside revealing a girl with brown eyes and dark brown hair who was blushing slightly.
"Nakuru?" Sakura asked in surprise.
She looked up, staring at her.
"He's my mate, Sakura," she murmured, grabbing Yue's hand.
He glanced sideways at her, still smiling.
"Really? I am really happy for you," Sakura replied, reaching over to hug Nakuru.
Then she glanced at Yue, sighing.
"You have to take care of her, and you'll have to visit a lot so we don't miss her."
Yue nodded.
"You should come too, it's been a long time since you were there. I don't understand how I didn't smell Nakuru the other times I came here," he said, frowning.
"Because you came during the week and she was always working in Tokyo," Sakura replied thoughtfully.
"Well, I'm really glad I came on a weekend this time," Yue replied, smiling again.
She hugged him too.
"You don't know how I love that our packs get along so well. It's a dream come true."
Yue wrapped his arms around her, nodding.
"Finally, all the werewolves in Japan are living happily and peacefully."
Syaoran peeked out the door, Suki still in his arms.
"We'll go to visit you soon, Yue," he said with a serious face.
Syaoran didn't like seeing Sakura so affectionate with another man, he only tolerated it with Eriol.
"Whenever you want. You already know that there is a hut for you."
"And you know that here you have a huge cave house for you and your people," Sakura replied, pulling away from him.
Yue nodded again and he and Nakuru said goodbye, walking to where he had left his car two days before.
Four months later, Sakura entered her small town hand in hand with Syaoran. As soon as she saw them, Tomoyo ran up and rushed over to them.
"Do you know it? What is it? What is it?" she asked anxiously.
Sakura smiled and patted her belly, where a small bump was starting to show.
"It's a girl," Syaoran replied.
Tomoyo's shout was heard throughout the valley.
"A friend for Suki!" she squealed, excited.
Sakura and Syaoran laughed and walked with her to her house, where Eriol was with Ichiro and Suki.
Tomoyo ran to him, hugging him and whispering something in his ear. Eriol smiled and approached Sakura.
"What's her name going to be?"
She glanced at Syaoran.
"You choose the name," she said, ruffling his hair affectionately with one hand.
He held her waist, glancing sideways at his blue-eyed friend.
"I like Akame," he confessed in a whisper.
"That's a Chinese name, isn't it?" Eriol asked, raising an eyebrow.
Syaoran nodded, kissing Sakura's forehead, and she smiled.
"Then the future Alpha will be named Akame."
"She'll probably be a witch too," Tomoyo added with a big smile.
The four of them entered the house and sat down at the table where Ichiro and Suki were already waiting for them, to have dinner together like every Friday.
