Reagan kept a firm hand around Bethany's waist as the group of four waited for their assignments. Part of her hoped they were all on the same ship, but another part hoped Jim got assigned somewhere else. Just so that she wouldn't have to deal with his whining during the rescue mission.

"Kelley, USS Enterprise… McCoy, USS Enterprise… O'Neal, USS Enterprise… Vader, USS Hood. Welcome to Starfleet, godspeed." The commander announced.

The small group of cadets dispersed to their assigned stations, but Reagan watched as Jim stormed after the man. The group waited and listened as Jim interrogated the man on why his name wasn't called. To Reagan's horror and amusement he had been put on academic suspension. It meant that the council had grounded him, until the Academy ruled otherwise.

Leonard walked over and slapped his hand on Jim's back, "Jim, the board'll rule in your favor. Most likely. Look, Jim, we got to go."

"Yeah, get going. Be safe." Jim muttered.

"Jim…" Bethany replied softly. "I'm so sorry."

"You can be sorry later they are calling all personnel to board the shuttles now." Reagan said, tugging on her arm.

Reagan led Bethany and Leonard away towards the shuttle, but stopped to look back at her idiot of a friend. Now matter how stupid his decisions he was still a member of Starfleet and he looked utterly pathetic standing their by himself. It seemed Leonard had the same idea as whipped around and grabbed Jim, dragging him to the nearest Medical tent for last minute check ups.

"Dammit. Come with me."

"What is he doing?" Reagan asked.

Bethany shook her head as the two followed, "I have no idea, but it can't be good where those two are concerned."

"Bones, where are we going?" Jim asked.

"You'll see."

Reagan sat on one of the empty beds and watched as Leonard rifled through the medical supplies. Bethany moved to stand next to Jim, offering her hand for him to hold. Reagan smiled at the sight and wished that the two naïve fools would just get together. Bethany would be good for Jim and lord knows the two would be the most wholesome couple.

"What are you doing?" Jim asked.

"Can I help?" Bethany offered.

"Take this." Leonard answered, before reading an injector and turning towards Jim. "I'm doing you a favor. I couldn't just leave you there looking all pathetic. Take a seat. I'm going to give you a vaccine against viral infection from Melvaran mud fleas."

Leonard didn't wait for Jim to respond as he placed the device on his neck and injected the vaccine. Bethany was looking at the doctor like he had gone mad, while Reagan was laughing at Jim's pain. Leonard winked at Reagan's laughter causing her to blush slightly without realizing.

"Oww! What for?"

"Take it like a man." Reagan commented, earning a glare from the man.

"Give you the symptoms."

"What are you talking about?"

"This doesn't sound very safe, Bones. What if he has an allergic reaction? It could lead to more serious effects." Bethany rambled.

"Well if the price is right." Reagan interjects, receiving another glare from Jim.

"You're going to start to lose vision in your left eye." Leonard continued, ignoring Bethany's concerns entirely.

"Yeah, I already have."

"Oh, and you're going to get a really bad headache and a flop sweat." Leonard finished.

"You call this a favor?" Jim spat out as Leonard hauled him to his feet.

"Yeah, you owe me one."

Reagan bit her lip to keep from laughing as she followed Leonard with a limp Jim. It was the best sight she had ever seen and she was disappointed that she wouldn't have a picture for blackmail later. Reagan and Bethany kept in stride boarding the shuttle with ease, but the good doctor had trouble being allowed to bring Jim aboard.

"Kirk, James T. He's not cleared for duty aboard the Enterprise."

Leonard looked like he was about ready to explode and Regan didn't blame him. The man stared the officer down, "Medical Code states the treatment and transport of a patient to be determined at the discretion of his attending physician, which is me. So, I'm taking Mister Kirk aboard. Or would you like to explain to Captain Pike why the Enterprise warped into a crisis without one of its senior medical officers?"

Reagan snorted from where she and Bethany stood, "Fuck that was hot."

"Language Reagan." Bethany chastised, but received an eye roll for her efforts.

"As you were."

"As you were." Jim slurred before leaning more heavily on his friend.

"C'mon."

Bethany moved forward to help Leonard lift Jim's weight as the two brought him over to a couple of seats near the toilet. Reagan followed behind, glaring at anyone who dared to make a comment. Most of the men and women on the shuttle were second and third years, but there were still quite a few first years that couldn't look her in the eye.

"How's our Kobayashi Maru champion doing?" Reagan asked.

"He'll do better once we're on the Enterprise." Leonard replied.

"Shouldn't be long now." Bethany added.

Shuttlecraft known as 'Gilliam' shuttered as it left Earth's gravitational pull. Reagan clung to her seat while the other grasped Bethany's hand tightly. After all these years, flying in a small container was still her least favorite mode of transportation. The girls had found their seats behind the boys, with Reagan taking the aisle seat to get a better view of the exit doors for when they landed.

"I might throw up on you." Jim announced.

"Deja Vu." Reagan laughed. "Better you than me."

"Just try breathing slowly okay?" Bethany tried her best to calm Jim down as he paled a sickly white color.

"Oh Jim, you got to look at this. Jim, look!" Leonard punched Jim's shoulder not looking at the sickly state of the man next to him. "Darling, are you seeing this?"

"Beautiful." Bethany whispered.

"What?" Jim asked, his curiosity drowning out his want to throw up.

Outside the window Reagan leaned over and as the shuttle rounded the corner they caught the first glimpse of the Enterprise. She was absolutely gorgeous and Reagan couldn't wait to get her hands on her torpedoes. Only the lord knows what kind of damage she could do with them, including during this rescue mission to Vulcan.
