An Electrifying Encounter

"So this is Goldenrod City?" Dawn looked around in amazement as tall buildings stretched out around them. She saw what appeared to be a Game Corner in the distance as it's bright neon signs were quite noticeable in the early morning, the Goldenrod Gym was hardly noticeable at all as the surrounding buildings dwarfed it in size! A bullet train went speeding by on nearby tracks which was quite out of the ordinary for her and Zach as bullet trains weren't in the Sinnoh region as of yet though there had been some talks of drilling a hole through Mt. Coronet to allow quick access to both eastern and western Sinnoh! Dawn's eyes were focused on the distant department store however as stars filled her eyes at the thought of shopping there. Zach's eyes were briefly locked on the bullet train until it disappeared.

"We've got to ride that before we go," Lucario quickly nodded in agreement while growling out lightly. Zach then glanced at his girlfriend and noticed her staring off, following her gaze before he'd notice the Goldenrod Department store. "You want to go there?"

"Yes please!" Dawn turned to him with a pleading look resulting in him chuckling lightly.

"You can go there, I'll use the time to try and catch myself a Scyther!" He fished in his pockets before retrieving some Pokedollars. "Here you go," He knew Dawn had Pokedollars of her own although not quite as much as him as she'd only won the one Contest thus far and wasn't exactly an active battler like he was. It could be the one chance she had to shop there and he wanted to ensure that she could fully enjoy herself without the worry of running out of cash.

Dawn's eyes lit up shortly before she threw her arms around him, planting a kiss on his lips as she offered him a warm appreciative gaze. "You're the best..."

Zach gazed back into her eyes as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Well your happiness means the world to me!"

Lyra awkwardly looked away as they started to make out, she found the two rather cute and silently wished that a certain red headed boy would look at her the way that Zach looked at Dawn.

"Alright Dawn and Lyra should be busy shopping for the next few hours at least, that gives us plenty of time to try and capture a Scyther!" Zach and his two faithful partner Pokemon were currently in Goldenrod Forest, tall trees and bushes stood in the area surrounding them as they prepared to look for the Bug type!

"Scor!" Scorbunny raised up her paw with a cocky smirk.

"Heh, yeah Scorbunny you'll be the one to fight it." Zach smirked.

"Scor bun bun!" Scorbunny leaped up with an excited expression while Lucario shook his head with a light smirk at how easily excited their fiery companion could be.

"Alright Lucario, I know you're not experienced enough to differentiate different types from their aura but is there anything big around here that isn't in a mood?" He really didn't want to risk upsetting a wild Ursaring or worse, multiple Ursaring! They were far more common in this region than they were back home so they needed to be careful. Lucario's eyes glowed blue as he read the aura in the surrounding area before uttering out a light growl as he pointed towards some nearby bushes.

"Car!"

"Through there? Awesome, Scorbunny I want you to use Flame Charge after you get through those bushes okay? Don't want to start a forest fire." Scorbunny gave her trainer a salute as her cocky smirk formed once more, the rabbit quickly turned around and shot off into the bushes before crying out rather unusually causing Zach to go into a state of alarm as he was worried for her.

"Scorbunny?!" He blindly rushed through the bushes and leaped out as he attempted to rescue his Fire type from the possible threat, only realizing when it was too late that Scorbunny was being snuggled by a familiar face. "Ah!" He tried stopping himself but winded up colliding with the other individual, pinning her to the ground as he fell on top of her. His face shot bright red from embarrassment while being centimeters away from Sonia's own as the Galar native gazed up at him with a light blush of her own as she smiled up at him.

"A rather bold way to meet somebody in person for the first time," Sonia giggled out with a teasing tone as Zach's cheeks burned brightly.

"I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-I heard Scorbunny cry out and thought she was in trouble!" Zach stuttered out before sweating as Sonia continued to giggle while pointing at his right hand which had an unintentional hold on her bust. Zach let out an alarmed yelp as he quickly shot up and backed away from her. "S-Sorry, I didn't notice."

"Quite alright, I don't mind. Accidents happen after all!" Sonia laughed before taking his hand as he helped her back to her feet. "I see I made the correct decision on allowing Scorbunny to stay with you, she's obviously been well taken care of."

"Scor!" Scorbunny tapped her chest with a smirk as she stated that she rarely left his side!

"I take good care of all my Pokemon," Zach stated as he let off a light nod. "But yeah she's been a great teammate, she's one of my strongest Pokemon too!"

Scorbunny flashed a cocky smirk as she tapped her chest once more. "Scorbunny!"

Sonia giggled out as she gazed down at Scorbunny before looking up at Zach. "Well then may I ask for your assistance, future champion?" Sonia bowed in a teasing manner, remembering that becoming one was Zach's dream. Lucario tilted his head as he wondered if he imagined the flirtish tone. "I've come all this way as we don't have much information on Zeraora and one has been sighted in this area, Yamper tried his hardest to find it but I'm afraid that luck just isn't on my side."

"Zeraora?" Zach pulled out his Rotom Phone as he had no idea as to what she was referring to.

"Zeraora the Thunderclap Pokemon, it runs as fast as lightning strikes, shredding its opponents with its high voltage claws!" Zach shuddered lightly as the rather violent description caused him to have flashbacks of Morpeko attacking him. He had to admit the Pokemon looked awesome though and since he was already looking for a Scyther, it wouldn't hurt to help Sonia find what she was looking for!

"Sure, I can help you!"

Scorbunny leaped onto his shoulder and smirked as she looked at Lucario. "Scor scor!" She cried as she teased that Zeraora looked like an Electric type version of him! Lucario let out a light growl as he turned his back to her, not finding the joke amusing.

"Great!" Sonia let out a light squeal as she clasped her hands together. "Thank you so much, I'm sure with the aid of your Lucario we can find it!"

"And Staravia can help too, Staravia take flight!" Staravia burst from his ball before perching on his trainer's shoulder as Zach held out the Rotom Phone. "That's a Zeraora, think you can help us find it?"

"Staravia!" Staravia let out a cry of confirmation as he took to the sky above.

"Alright Lucario this should be rather easy as you already know what Electric aura looks like. Sense anything nearby?" He knew because of a certain rat that they refused to mention aloud. Lucario's eyes glowed blue as he gazed around the area before pointing at a nearby bush as it started to shake. Zach excitedly grabbed at a Pokeball only to frown as a Pikachu stepped out and waddled past them with a pleasant cry.

"Pika Pika!"

"KYU!" Mimikyu hissed as she suddenly emerged from her Pokeball, her tone sounding rather violent as she lashed out with her tail which was currently surrounded in a bright purple aura as she smacked the electric rodent with her Wood Hammer attack!

"Pika!" Pikachu cried out as Mimikyu sent her blasting off into the sky above!

"Kyu..." Mimikyu let out a snicker as she gazed upwards while Zach and Lucario gave each other a look before slowly looking back at Mimikyu.

"And now we learned something new about Mimikyu..."

"Car..."

"Yeah we're definitely never catching a Pikachu." Zach agreed. Hopefully he'd at least have a warning if his cousin showed up otherwise Mimikyu might attack a Pikachu that she'd regret getting into a fight with!

"What a cutie! You didn't tell me that you owned a Mimikyu!" Sonia gushed as she dropped to her knees and grasped the Ghost type's cheek. Mimikyu let out a pleasant hiss. "What else are you hiding from me?!"

"W-Well I have a strange looking Lycanroc after my Rockruff evolved at dusk, I've got a Totodile egg in my bag, and a Dratini!" Zach threw forward the remaining Pokeballs and Sonia uttered out another loud squeal as she quickly threw her arms around Lycanroc and Dratini, nuzzling herself against them while Dratini uttered out a pleasant sounding coo. Lycanroc wagged her tails before licking the girl's cheek. Zach quickly noted that his Pokemon appeared rather fond of Sonia and honestly who could blame them? Sure she was hot as hell but she was sweet too!

"I'm guessing you have more?" Sonia looked up at him as he faintly sweated.

"W-Well I did." He handed her his Rotom Phone to showcase the captures. "I left Aerodactyl at the Oreburgh Museum for safe keeping as it's mind was locked in the past, too dangerously to be traveling around with a Pokemon like that especially since it could just fly off and eat somebody before I could stop it! That one constantly abused me and Dawn before abandoning me, Zarude I caught to stop it's rampage then set free after rescuing his pack so it's friends wouldn't have an excuse to continue their distrust of humans, Basculin bit me after I let it out and went downstream so I had no choice but to release it as I had no way of tracking it down let alone knowing where that river would lead to."

"So you don't have any Pokemon at Professor Rowan's?" Sonia tilted her head before giving him a bright smile. "Well then why don't you send your extra Pokemon to my lab?! My grandma and I will take good care of them and we could actually use the Pokemon as our lab's pretty empty. It's just the starters and Yamper for the most part. They won't be a burden and I assure you that I'll make sure they get plenty of food and exercise! I'd love the chance to study your Dusk Lycanroc in person!" She squealed out.

Zach sweated lightly as he pondered over her offer. He didn't exactly owe it to Rowan to send his spare Pokemon to Sandgem Town and having his Pokemon far away didn't really matter as he'd still retrieve them just as fast as he would from Rowan's, that and he was planning on traveling elsewhere once he finished his Sinnoh adventure but hadn't set his mind on something yet so his Pokemon would eventually be in the same predicament! Though he just couldn't say no to Sonia for some reason, she was sweet and was surely more fun than grouchy stern Professor Rowan, not that he meant disrespect but he didn't want his Pokemon to feel lonely or abandoned when he wasn't around.

"Sure, I don't mind!"

Sonia let out a squeal, quickly wrapping her arms around him as she started jumping up and down. "Thank you, thank you! It's always been my dream to research rare and unknown Pokemon like that! Oh this makes me so happy!"

Zach couldn't help but blush from the way she was holding him. "Y-You're welcome..."

"Scyther!"

"Finally!" Zach shouted in an excitable manner as he heard the species cry not far off from where they were. "Scorbunny let's-" Lucario placed his paw on his arm and motioned towards the nearby bushes. He slowly crept behind Lucario before they'd look into a clearing where a Scyther could be seen locked in a duel with the very Pokemon that Sonia was looking for!

"Wow, what are the chances?"

"Scyther!" The mantis Pokemon crossed his sheathes as he raced towards his opponent and slashed out! Zeraora quickly avoided the attack as he moved in a bright yellow blur before reappearing in front of Scyther, forming a smirk as his fists became surrounded in blue electricity before he slammed them into the ground causing a stream of blue electricity to shoot through the ground towards Scyther!

"Scyther!" Scyther's eyes widened in panic and he attempted to fly off only to find himself too slow as the electricity surged through his body, the mantis Pokemon dropped in a defeated slump as swirls filled his eyes. Zeraora didn't think the battle was over however, his fists began glowing once more as he prepared another attack!

"He's gonna kill Scyther!" Sonia's eyes widened in terror.

"Not if I have anything to say about it," Zach quickly pulled a Fast Ball from his bag and threw it from the bush, the ball sped towards Scyther at a blinding speed and smacked against his unconscious body, absorbing the Pokemon in a beam of red light and just in time as Zeraora's plasma fists came crashing down where he once stood!

"Zera?!

The ball shook twice before chiming to announce the capture as it phased away to Wedgehurst!

"Scyther the Mantis Pokemon, it is nearly impossible to parry it-"

"Shut up shut up!" Zach hissed as he repeatedly hit the off button while the Rotom Phone read out Scyther's data upon it being registered in his Pokedex.

"Zera!" Zeraora snarled as his fists became surrounded in blue electricity again, the feline raced towards the bush and Zach found himself frozen in place with fear while Sonia fearfully threw her arms around his body as she began violently shaking!

"Lucar!" Lucario leaped out, his own fists electrically charged as he slammed them against Zeraora's own! The two attacks met and formed a light shock that blasted the two away from each other with them landing on their backs!

"W-Way to go Lucario! I-It's a pure Electric type so Bone Rush should do just fine against him!" Zach called out as he slowly got to his feet. Scorbunny twitched as she was still seeing her life flashing before her eyes.

Lucario snarled as he whipped out his aura infused bone club before proceeding to charge at the electric feline, smacking him across the head as it got back on its feet. Zeraora let out an grunt and looked up with an annoyed look. The feline pulled back it's fist as it became surrounded in an orange aura, preparing to strike out with Power-Up Punch!

"Attacking us up close isn't exactly smart," Zach glanced at Lucario before giving him a light nod. "You know what to do."

Lucario clamped his paws together as a sphere of aura began forming between them, the jackal kept his gaze locked onto the approaching Zeraora before firing!

"Zera!" Zeraora cried as he was blasted through the air, the feline collapsed onto his side as Zach reached for another Fast Ball and threw it at him! The ball smacked against Zeraora, absorbing the Electric type in a beam of bright light shortly before the ball started shaking back and forth, the ball burst back open as Zeraora let out a fierce cry and shot multiple bolts of electricity across the field!

"Use Bone Rush and slam the club into the ground!"

Lucario whipped out his bone club and thrusted it beneath the dirt, Lucario got struck by a blast of electricity but rather than harm the jackal it passed right over him and went beneath the ground! Sonia's eyes widened from amazement at the sight, her eyes glued to the jackal as he yanked out his bone club and smacked Zeraora upside the head! Zeraora went cross eyed shortly before he fell face first into the dirt, his body falling into a state of unconsciousness as Zach grabbed another Fast Ball.

"Let's hope that this one works!" He threw it and clenched his fists in anticipation as the ball made contact with Zeraora's body, the electrical feline disappeared in a bright red light as the ball started shaking back and forth. Zach and Sonia both watched in anticipation as they hoped that Zeraora would stay put before uttering sighs of relief as the ball chimed out to signal the capture!

"Alright, we caught Zeraora!"

"Car!"

"S-Scor..." Scorbunny shivered as she gazed towards the ball while feeling thankful that the situation had been properly dealt with!

Zach stared down at the Fast Ball that belonged to Zeraora as he and Sonia now stood in the Goldenrod Pokemon Center, having just temporarily swapped Mimikyu and Staravia so he could introduce himself to his new captures. The interaction with Scyther went fairly well as the Pokemon seemed to think he owed him a life debt.

"Scyther!" Scyther bowed repeatedly as he burst from his ball.

"T-That behavior's not necessary, I want you as my friend not my servant!"

"Scyther..." Scyther bowed in agreement before placing his scythes around Zach as he lightly hugged him the best he could without cutting him. After he was returned to his ball, Zach focused on Zeraora's. The feline seemed quite vicious much like Morpeko had been before he caught the rodent, he thought that taming and feeding him would have helped but Morpeko never seemed to appreciate or respect him. He hoped that this wouldn't be a repeat performance.

Sonia placed her hand on his shoulder as she offered him a warm smile. "I'm here, I'll help return it if you freeze up again." She reassured him.

Zach offered her a light smile in appreciation before turning back to the ball, he shook lightly before taking a deep gulp as he opened up the ball.

"Zera!" Zeraora cried out as he held out his arms. Zach flinched and closed his eyes before feeling a soft fuzzy embrace followed by a loud purr. Lucario had bested him in combat and apparently that was enough to earn his respect! Zach opened up his eyes and faintly smiled before hugging his new teammate.

"Welcome to the team, Zeraora!"

"Zera!"

"You don't mind heading back to Galar with Sonia, do you? I won't need you for awhile and she'd love the chance to research you." Zeraora glanced towards Sonia before glancing towards Lucario.

"Is she his mate?"

Lucario shrugged in response.

Zeraora turned and gave his trainer a nod before purring out. "Zera..."

"Great, I'll see you in a few weeks then!" He returned Zeraora to his ball before handing it over to Sonia along with another one. "That belongs to Lycanroc, watch over her for me will you? She was abandoned before and I don't want her to think that I'm doing it."

"Don't worry, I promise I'll give her plenty of attention. I'm sure Yamper will enjoy having another canine around to play with!" Sonia grinned she placed the Pokeballs into her purse. "Well I should get back to Galar, I-" Sonia paused for a moment before leaning forward to kiss his cheek while her hand rested against his chest. Zach's face lit up like a Tamato berry while Scorbunny eagerly clapped her hands at the sight. "Thanks again, hope to hear from you soon." Sonia gave him a wink before turning to make her leave.

Zach couldn't utter out a single word as he stared after her.

Yeah unless it's Mew, Celebi or Jirachi I don't necessarily deem Mythical Pokemon as OP. Celebi and Jirachi might not be as strong as Mew but their abilities? Yeah no, no trainer should ever own them on account of that. I'm not going to give them out like candy though
