Prompt: Sugar calms Skull down
It happened the first time they had met. The loud and boisterous civilian was the only one to take the cookies Luche had made. Suddenly he wasn't so loud anymore. Nobody had paid any attention to it at the time. They simply thought the civilian had finally realized how serious the situation he was getting into was. They weren't close enough to realize the truth.
The next time it happened in front of them was during a movie. Skull had been so still and quiet that Colonello honestly had thought that he had fallen asleep at first. Except when he looked at him, Skull was staring at the screen and slowly eating his way through a bowl of M&Ms. He put the instance out of his mind, thinking Skull was simply absorbed in the movie.
Similar incidents passed but none of them made the connection until Lal, in a small fit of annoyance, shoved a handful of marshmallows in Skull's mouth when he was being especially loud. Instead of spitting them out and getting louder like they expected, Skull had stilled and started chewing them. Calmly!
Soon afterwards, the other members of the seven would notice Skull calming down by eating anything with sugar in it. It didn't make sense to them, but then again they lived in a world where blue fire put people to sleep and green fire was electric. Things rarely made sense.
Verde ran a bunch of tests that none of them could make heads or tails of, least of all Skull who was the victim of said tests. In the end, Verde told them that sugar filled treats had the opposite effect on Skull. Calming him down instead of making him hyper. Personally Lal thought the tests were unnecessary since they already figured that out, but she wasn't a mad scientist.
Now that they learned the trick, candy became a required item on the grocery list. Pounds upon pounds of candy were stashed around the manor, hidden in various spots. If Skull became too loud, somebody would give him a handful of the sweets. The cloud wasn't entirely sure why but he never complained. Free candy was free candy. Though he wished Reborn wouldn't shoot jawbreakers at him instead of bullets. Those hurt more in his opinion.
Yeah I don't know where I was going when I first wrote this chapter. Regardless, I wrote it once so I wrote it again. I didn't have much that I particularly wanted to change on this one. Actually, my plan was to just keep it the same, but I wasn't working on it on my computer so I had to retype the whole thing and I decided to change the ending some. I hope everyone liked the chapter! Please Review, Follow, and Favorite! I'll see you for the next update!
