If there ever were a moment Mika felt uneasy, it would have been now when she felt a crawling feeling run over her back as she and Shinoa walked down the long empty corridor, ready to leave for the day. It wasn't uncommon that they both would stay behind after school hours to look through some documents that needed attention. Which, in Mika's opinion, shouldn't be their responsibility to handle.

As she stopped in her track, she glanced over her shoulder, scanning the hall of any sign that somebody else was still in the school building. Some teachers sometimes used the empty building to look through all the assignments and reports instead of taking the work home.

But that didn't mean that some students besides Mika and Shinoa wouldn't be in the building too.

It had happened a few times, too often, if anybody asked Mika. Students sneaking in to either fake their test results or go through with bets that always end up in disaster.

One time, Mika and Shinoa found students from a few of the high ups family. Looking through documents, they weren't allowed touch. There was no secret that the teachers had small copies of reports from the army, updates on the situation. The students were, of course, punish after the incident, but it didn't stop others from trying.

This time, however, there wasn't any chance that anybody was in the hallway. The sun that still hadn't gone down for the day brighten up the whole hallway beside a tiny shadow that could only hide a mouse at best but nothing else.

" Everything alright?."

Shinoa appeared beside her, looking at the hallway they walked through before looking at Mika.

" Sorry, my nerves must be playing tricks with me," Mika rubbing her eyes as she looked at the windows to see the fire color sky that became darker.

" Maybe you worried about Yuu," Shinoa said calmly with her usual emotionless expression. " He is not going to be home this time when you get back."

" Maybe I am. " Admitted Mika. Not on the part of being worried about Yuu, but the fact he wouldn't be home.

Ever since she and Yuu escaped from the vampires, she had grown a fear of being alone during the night. Shadows towering over her with scary sounds that come with the night. She knew it was a silly fear for some, that it was always an explanation for all does things, and she knew that. But all of those things made her remember those scary times, back in Sanguinem and Ferid. Even how much she wanted to forget, she could still see the tall, silver-haired vampire in front of her. With his laidback smile that had millions of hidden meanings behind it, a smile that Mika never wanted to see again.

She shook her head hard, not wanting to think of the time she had a long time tried to forget and started to walk again with Shinoa right beside her.

" Yuu will be alright. He may be a troublemaker, but he does get through to people sometimes." Shinoa said, still thinking that Mika was worried about Yuu.

" Yes, he does." Mika stopped in front of her shoe locker to grab her shoes, wanting to get home as quickly as possible. But then an idea came to mind, an idea she hadn't thought of for a long time, an idea that would maybe get her worries about being alone a rest.

" Shinoa, what do you say about coming over to my place and have a slumber party?."

Shinon, who was halfway putting her shoes on, froze before looking up at Mika with wide, confused eyes, something Mika had never seen Shinoa make.

"Slumber party?." Shinoa said like she was trying to understand the meaning of the word slumber party. " Slumber party."

" Slumber party," Mika repeated, forcing a small smile, hoping it would convince Shinoa somehow. She didn't want to say out loud that she didn't want to be alone because of her fear of being alone. She trusted Shinoa, even if she was part of the Hiragi family.

But she didn't want to take the risk of exposing her weakness openly if there was one thing she knew, there were always ears that listened. Ears that she knew were under Kuretos orders.

" Am in!~." Said Shinoa existed, pulling Mika into a tight hug as she mumbled words Mika couldn't hear properly, but Mika didn't care. She was relieved that she at least had somebody with her to ease her fear for the night.

" Great." Said Mika, smiling as Shinoa ended the hug. "Let's go to your place and grab your stuff for the night. Is your place far from here?."

" Just a few minutes walk from here. It's at the area my family has their base. Funny, even if I'm a failure, they still want me close enough to keep an eye on me." Shinoa smiled with no trace that she was hurt or even bothered by the words she just said.

" They need to get their eyes checked." Mumbled Mika under her breath, following Shinoa out to the chilling weather outside as they walked down the street. Their destination, Shinoa's place to grab her stuff.

Mika was surprised or, more in exact words, shocked when she saw the building Shinoa pointed at after several minutes of walking through the area owned by the Hiragi family. In Mika's mind, she thought, Shinoa was living on her own, in a house or an apartment. But she never thought she lived in the tallest building in the whole city, the one building Mika never wanted to set her foot in again.

" You live here?." Mika asked with a nervous voice, pointing at the spotless building with millions of glass windows that made it look like it had just been build.

Shinoa nodded, walking up the first steps of the stone stairs leading up to the building.

" Yes, my room is on the 20th floor. The elevator will get us there in no time."

"Wait, wait," Mika said, running up the stairs to catch up to Shinoa was was almost at the top. " Wait a minute, Shinoa."

Shinoa stopped and turned to Mika with her head tilted to the side.

" Is anything wrong?."

" No..well." Mika ran through her hands through her hair, trying to find the words to say to Shinoa. " Look, Shino, I think I should stay out here. The last time I was in this very building was one of the worse moments of my life, and I don't want to bump into the very people who made it like that."

Shinoa stared at Mika for a few long minutes without saying anything until she smiled like she almost did while grabbing Mika's arm.

" Don't worry, my brothers are rarely in the building anymore, especially on the 20th floor. They want to make a little interaction with me as possible and try to never be on the same floor as me."

" Shinoa, this whole place is filled with soldiers under your brothers and father's order. The possibility that they will inform them that I'm here is very high."

"Then let's hurry before they get here~." Shinoa giggled, not looking serious about the situation. " Besides, it will only take a few minutes."

"But..." Mika didn't get the chance to say another word before Shinoa pulled her into the building.
