"What are we going to tell our parents?" Allison asked as they got into Lydia's car.

"That we're going camping?" Stiles suggested.

"That could work if we leave tomorrow after school since it's a Friday," Lydia said. "We'll just grab some gear so we wouldn't look suspicious."

"But what about Hope?" Scott reminded them.

"Yeah, if we were all going camping they'd think we'd invite her as well," Isaac said.

"We'll ask her, and hopefully she says no," Stiles said.

"And if she says yes?" Malia asked.

"We'll figure it out."

"Are we actually going to Mexico?" Allison asked. "Driving there all night."

"If they have Derek, then yes, we are driving to Mexico," Stiles said.

"They wouldn't just hand him over though, especially if we want him."

"The Argents have a, huge, amount of inheritances, for girls who are born since they are made to be leaders, we could use mine," Allison said.

"How much are we talking about?"

Allison just gave them a look before returning her eyes to the front.

"So a lot, got it."

"How about we stop by Deaton, he'll probably know more and how we can there and get out alive. It" Scott suggested. The rest of the pack agreed and Lydia continued driving changing course to the pet clinic.

It was late and they say Deaton about to close up when they went to go meet him.

"What brings all of you by?" Deaton asked.

"We need help."

"What sort of help?" He asked.

"It's about Derek, we think he might've been captured by The Calaveras," Allison said showing him the bullet as she gave it to him. He studied it before looking at them again.

"Come inside and explain the situation to me," He said calmly and they all made theirs way inside around the metal table.

"What happened?" Deaton asked.

"We went to go check Derek's loft since we haven't heard from him," Stiles started.

"And we were hit with the scent of fresh wolfsbane so it must've happened recently," Scott continued.

"And then we found that bullet shell. The mark of the Calaveras." Allison finished.

"Well you are correct, this is the mark of the Calaveras. If you want to get Derek back here's how you enter," He said and continued the next 10 minutes explaining the dangers and let them figure out the plan for themselves.

Hope picked up her stuff as detention ended and made her way towards the school door and stepped outside to see the sun lower and it was peaceful without all the other students rushing and speaking to disturb it.

"Wait!" Hope said and it was Kira rushing to catch up to her. 'She does not give up.' Hope thought.

"Yeah?" She asked.

"Just, give me a chance to change your mind?" Kira asked shyly.

Hope thought for a moment. She doesn't smell like a vampire, witch, or werewolf. Her heartbeat was steady, she wasn't lying. But some people could be really good at lying like herself.

"I'll think about," Hope said suspiciously

"Ok, ok. That's fine. I just, I better go," Kira said and started speed walking off of campus.

Hope didn't lie this time, she was going to think about it. Her mom would be pressing on her to make more friends while they were here. But she already trusts a friend group, and that's already risky enough. There are two reasons she didn't let anyone get close. One, no one wanted to get close to her physically or emotionally. And two, she doesn't need her family to rip off the heads of her friends.

She made her way off of campus and remembered dinner. She still knows the address to the house from last time but it's going to take her a while to walk over there.

She had finished her homework in detention so she doesn't have to worry about it once she got back home so she could just knock out.

Hope looked down at the Mikaelson crest necklace that rested on her neck. She wondered how things were back in New Orleans.

She was wrapped up in her thoughts she didn't even know that she had already reached the McCall house. She rang the doorbell and waited for a couple of seconds before Melissa McCall opens the door and greeted her with a warm smile.

"Hi Hope, I'm glad you made it," Melissa said. "Come in," She said and stepped aside letting Hope in.

"I hope being late wasn't a problem," Hope excused.

"No, Scott and Isaac still aren't home yet, probably held up at Scott's workplace," Melissa said making her way into the kitchen.

"And where is that?" Hope asked.

"The vet clinic," Melissa replied. "They should be back any second."

"Let me help you," Hope said taking the plates in Melissa's hands and helped set up the table.

"Thank you, dear," Melissa said as she got the pasta off of the stove and mixed it with sauce as she put it in a serving bowl, grabbed it and the salad, and placed it on the table as Hope had finished setting the table as it wasn't a difficult task. "The boys should be here any minute."

After a minute they heard the front door open and two sets of footsteps come in.

"...are we sure?" Isaac asked.

"Yes, and-" Scott paused and looked at the table to see Hope sitting there starring at them with curiosity while Isaac looked where Scott was looking at and both boys just noticed her presence.

"Hey guys," Hope said as she gave a small wave.

"Hope, hey. What brings you by?" Scott asked as he and Isaac put down their stuff.

"I invited her over for dinner," Melissa McCall said appearing beside Hope.

Isaac made a small 'Ok' and he and Scott took a seat at the table and they started eating.

"So Hope, where are you from?" Melissa asked starting a conversation out of the silence.

"South, the state of Louisiana," Hope said taking another bite out of the food.

"So why'd move to Beacon Hills?"

"Trouble, at home. And my mom thought a quiet town would help settle our minds." Hope responded.

They went another five minutes without talking until Scott spoke up.

"So mom, me, and the rest were thinking of going on a camp trip over the weekend just outside of Beacon Hills," Scott said then looked at Hope. "Would you want to come?"

No! "No, I'm fine, plus I can't really with my mom in the hospital," Hope said. She couldn't step foot outside of this town with her mom in a coma and without letting the rest of her family know where she was if something goes wrong.

"Of course you can go camping, it's you, Isaac, Stiles, Lydia, Allison, and Malia, right?" Melissa asked to be sure.

"Yeah," Scott said.

"Then, I suppose you all would be safer together," She said.

"Awesome,"

"So Hope, how'd you feel about lacrosse?" Isaac asked changing the subject.

"It's a sport I haven't picked up in a while. At an old school, I played others but both didn't have lacrosse so I gave it up for a while," She answers truthfully.

"And you just picked it up again?"

Hope shrugged. "Like riding a bike. My turn for a question." Hope said. "Is Beacon Hills always this quiet?"

"What do you mean?"

"Like events, parades. It's so quiet here," Hope explained.

"No, not much events," Scott said and Hope heard his heart sped up that she paused before Isaac continued for him.

"Other than school events, there's no reason for public events," Isaac said and Hope relaxed and convinced herself that, that was the reason Scott's heart sped up.

"It's not a bad thing that it's quiet. It's a nice change for once," Hope said and hoped that they didn't do too much reading into what she said in mystic falls there was a founder's bad, masquerade ball, Miss mystic falls with a throw of supernatural on the list. In New Orleans, there is always someone looking for trouble whether they'd be dead witches come back to life or vampires who want revenge.

They continued to finish up dinner in comfortable silence as they discussed little things nothing too out of her comfort zone.

Hope watched as the sun was setting and figured she had stayed long enough.

"Thank you for inviting me over, but I think I'll go home now," Hope said getting up from the table.

"Would you like one of us to drive you?"

"No, I'll be good walking. See you guys tomorrow, thank you once again for having me," Hope thanked them and made her way out the door.

Isaac and Scott started talking again about the plan when they were out of hearing range from Scott's mom.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" Isaac asked.

"Yes," Scott replied a little too quickly. "Maybe," He said and Isaac gave him a look. "I'll talk to you tomorrow, night Isaac."

"G'night Scott," Isaac replied as Scott left his room.

Hope had fallen back on her bed as she came into her room and did nothing. At least it was another regular day. She'd only come back because some vampires didn't have daylight rings so they'd usually come in the night and even with her custom barrier spell still up, she had to be careful. Whoever is starting a war with her family must have a backup plan at least. Or it'd be a person who sees little Hope Mikaelson all alone and defenseless and decided that try and make the family hurt by making her hurt.

But for now, she was going to sleep.

Or...

Perhaps not.

She got up from her bed and went over to her desk to find some ingredients and grabbed a pinch of the mountain ash to channel its power as she chanted some words quickly and quietly and by the time she was done her nose started bleeding only a little and wiped it off as if it was nothing (which it was to her) as she went to sleep.

She did not notice the glow of the knife that was resting on her desk was glowing red like the first time she had encountered the dragon.

"You guys got the stuff?" Scott asked.

"Yeah, but this is a really dumb idea," Lydia said.

"It'd be fine, we just have to get back by Monday," Allison said.

"And if we don't get back? At all?"

"Have a little positivity guys."

They all entered Stiles's Jeep at the end of school and started driving to Mexico. It was mostly silence and an open road from where they were driving from.

They wondered why did the Calaveras take Derek, what was so important that they left Mexico to take him personally.

They had to stop for gas and food of course before setting on the road again as they were getting closer to the border.

They had arrived in the afternoon after getting past the border that separated the u.s.a from Mexico and was now getting closer to the Calaveras.

When they arrived Stiles parked close to town but not too close that they would notice them.

"You have to card Lydia?" Scott asked.

"Yeah," Lydia said showing it to them.

"So I'll go with Lydia, and Stiles you guys should be able to find a back door to sneak in from," Allison explained.

"Great, let's just pray we don't die," Isaac said. The werewolves and werecoyote went to go find a back entrance they could sneak in from while Stiles, Allison, and Lydia went to go wander the town until nightfall.

"I'm sorry just have to say this, this could be the stupidest plan we've ever come up with and we are going to die," Lydia blurted out as they were walking.

"We are aware it's not our best," Stiles defended. "And you saying that as a Banshee or you're just being pessimistic?" Stiles asked Lydia.

"I'm saying it as a person who doesn't wanna die," Lydia replied.

"Ok, let's not talk about this in the open," Allison said cutting in. "Yes this may be our dumbest plan yet, but it's the only one we've got."

They continued to wander around and already called the others and gotten word they were already inside.

"Our turn," Allison said and they walked up to the door but was blocked by two men who stood up straight as they saw them approach.

"Estamos aquí para la fiesta," Lydia spoke in Spanish hoping they could bail out of the plan as soon as they can.

One of the guards shook their head 'no' not moving from his position.

Allison gave Lydia a nudge that was barely noticeable and Lydia grabbed out the card that was in her pocket and showed it to the guards. Then to the camera that was in the corner watching them. It showed a skull almost taking up the whole card with designs along the edges. They heard a buzz and then a click and then saw the door open for them and the guards moved aside to let them through.

The door closed behind them as they looked back but continued going to the other door at the end of the hallway when they opened it they were greeted with music blasting in their ear, lights flashing and people dancing.

They went to the edges of the club where three sets of drinks were placed in front of them.

They heard someone approach and a hand appeared on Allison's and Stiles's shoulders. "On the house. Most American teenagers don't cross the border to refuse a drink." He said.

"We didn't come to drink," Allison said and dropped the shell of the bullet they found in Derek's loft. The man paused before leading them into the back of the club where was barely light and they were seated down in front of a woman who was sewing roughly.

"Niños, niños, niños." She said not taking her eyes off of what she was doing.

"We're here for Derek Hale," Stiles said.

"We've heard he can be bought," Allison said then placed stacks of money on the table. "It's 50,000 for Derek."

"Now, where do teenagers get money like this? Argent inheritance?" She asked looking straight at Allison as she tensed.

"I know a Hunter when I see one. Especially an Argent. But I am disappointed you didn't bring back up. It's not very smart to come alone," She said.

"What makes you think we came alone?" Stiles said.

Now it was the women's turn to tense for a second. "You brought a wolf into my home?"

"We brought an Alpha."

There was silence, no one was talking, they just hoped their friends hadn't been caught yet. As far as they saw Malia was on the dance floor while Isaac and Scott were in the corners of the club together.

"My friends..." The women started before sighing but not getting the chance to continue.

They heard her radio go on and heard two guards' voices were heard. "Front door clear."

"South clear."

There wasn't a third.

"North? Donde esta norte?"

Scott picked up the radio as Isaac punched the guard to sleep.

"Stiles," Scott said into the radio. "Take 10 off the table."

Stiles did take one stack of money off the table and gave it to Allison who put it in her pocket.

"Maybe you should just take the deal," Lydia said.

Araya only chuckled. "While I'm keen to follow the warning of a Banshee, I'm going to have to decline."

"Just give us Derek," Stiles repeated once again.

Malia threw off one of the guards to the floor as Scott tackled one and was surprised no one around them was alarmed. Isaac got the one who was coming from behind as they made their way through a hallway to try and find their friends.

"Severo? Show them how the Calaveras negotiate." Araya said into her radio.

The were-creatures heard a beeping noise before a substance came through the vents and into their lungs.

"Wolfsbane. It's wolfsbane!"

"Thank you for noticing!" Malia said before coughing and breathing the little air she had. Before a guard came down and knocked them to the floor. Then came the women without their friends.

"All we want is Derek." Scott managed.

"My Lobito..." She started but didn't continue.

Scott managed to put the pieces together as her face showed it all. "You don't know where he is either." He manages before the wolfsbane had done its damage and they all passed out.

Scott woke up to someone shaking him and sat right up.

"Oh good, you're finally awake," Isaac said as he stood up helping Scott up as well.

"Scott, you okay?" Allison asked.

"Yeah. But hey don't have him. They don't have Derek." Scott said.

"We know. But right now, they've got Lydia." Malia said.

Lydia knew this place was dumb and here they are. She's up here with the head of the hunters trying to see what triggers the banshee within her and her friends someone where she doesn't know and all of them trapped in Mexico for now.

Scott tried to pull open the door, trying to find a weak spot.

"We already looked for a way out," Malia said. "I say when that door opens again, we take out whoever's standing in the way and run for it."

"After we grab Lydia," Allison reminded.

"Ok, but if the Calaveras don't know where Derek is, that means they didn't take him from the loft. Does that mean someone else did?" Isaac suggested.

Lydia did not like this woman. She was creepy and terrifying in her eyes. Pushing her to see which one of her men would die. She was snapped out of her thoughts by a knife sound and a man on the floor with blood around him.

"What did you do that for?" Lydia asked trying to stay calm failing as her voice and face betrayed her but can you blame her?

"He stole from me," Araya said simply.

"What do you want?" Lydia asked. All she wanted was to get her friends and get the hell out of here.

"Right now? I want to know about Scott McCall. I want to know what kind of Alpha he really is."

Three hunters opened the door carrying guns and weapons pointing at them and grabbed Scott, and Malia as they held off the rest and dragged the two to a room still weak from the wolfsbane

They brought Lydia to a room where she gasped when she entered. "Oh, God," Lydia said as she saw Scott tied to a chit with wires same with Malia.

"Let them go. Look...you've got me. Just let the others go," Scott pleaded but his attempts were ignored.

"Your hand goes here." A guard said putting Lydia's hand on a dial. "So, let me explain what's about to happen. Your friend here is either going to turn the dial on the Alpha. Or the coyote."

"No. I'm not doing this." Lydia said struggling to get his hand off of hers.

"Are you sure?" He mocked her. "Both are going to hurt. But one can heal more quickly than the other."

"What are you doing? Is this a game to you?" Malia growled her blue eyes glowing.

"This is a test, militia." Araya, the head said. "Let's see if you pass."

"I told you this was a stupid plan," Lydia said.
