Chapter 12: All Might
"For I have come!"
Everyone froze upon hearing the familiar catchphrase. The large muscular man had finally appeared at the USJ, his bright golden hair shining like a beacon flowing from the wind and shockwave that he had caused from appearing in such a rush.
"I had a bad feeling in my gut. I had to cut off my conversation ." All Might explains. On the sidelines, Ashido starts to cry out loud, as Uraraka's own brown eyes start to swell up in tears. Satou, Sero, and Shouji stare as All Might pass by them with a relieved look on their faces. "I happened to pass by Young Iida on my way and got the gist of what's happening." The hero's mouth stretches in a deeper scowl as he clenches his teeth.
With a powerful step forward, All Might stop before the staircase leading to the central plaza below. "It's all right now." The man reaches for the tie around his neck, ripping it off in fury. "Because I am HERE!"
"All Might!" Izuku hears all the cheers and cries from her classmates, they were all relieved that they were saved but she was the only one who felt worried about her mentor.
She stares at the figure of her idol—All Might—with her wide emerald eyes as she mutters. "All… Might…". At the beginning of the USJ class, she remembered how Thirteen held up three fingers while speaking quietly about All Might. Izuku connected it with the news she reads every morning and how he fought a villain. He must have reached his three-hour daily limit and couldn't attend class without properly resting, but how did he manage to come in this form?
"We were waiting for you, hero." Shigaraki Tomura stands up and turns to face All Might as he laughs. "Or should I say, you "hero" trash?"
"Holy shit is that All Might!? This is my first time seeing him in person" One of the ragtag villains still in the plaza questions, staring at the daunting figure of the muscular man feeling frightened and intimidated by the size of the number one hero.
"He looks so intimidating…"
"Hey dumbass, don't even think about hesitating!" One of the villains shouts at the others. "We only came here to kill—" A flash of golden yellow flashes quickly as the villain groans as he is suddenly struck down. Following him, several other villains are knocked out in an instant as All Might picks up Aizawa from the ground.
Carrying his coworker in his arms, All Might grimace looking at Aizawa's mutilated bloody face and fatal injuries. "I'm sorry for taking so long Aizawa." He then turns around towards where the light-haired villain and his pet Nomu stand, his dark eyes shining a brilliant azure. All Might then in a rapid speed snatches Izuku, Tsuyu, and Mineta away from Shigaraki and Nomu.
Izuku didn't realize what happened until she was placed on her feet in the center of the plaza. Her mind was blank from the sudden action and she realized the raw speed All Might had just to save her and her peers.
"Huh?" Mineta's breath hitches as he tilts his head, eyes wide and blank. "So fast!"
Seeing the injured Aizawa on the floor before her, Izuku is finally able to be near him to do her very own duty to save him from bleeding out.
"Everyone, go to the entrance." All Might orders from his place, kneeling on the ground. "I'm leaving Aizawa to you Midoriya, heal him." All Might rises to his feet. "He's unconscious, hurry!"
"Y-Yes, sir!" Mineta and Asui hastily pick up Aizawa, trying to get the man off the ground so they wouldn't have to drag him.
Izuku, however, hesitated for a second only focusing on her mentor with large worried eyes. "All Might…" There was a great sense of unease lurking in her gut, tugging at her conscience.
"It's no good..." Shigaraki mutters as he covers his face with one of his prosthetic hands. The hand which had been on his face had fallen off with All Might's blow. The villain staggers around, looking for the missing hand and once he finds it, he picks it up and rearranges it on his head.
"I-I'm sorry, Father…" Once he has the hand attached to his face again, Shigaraki exhales a held breath. "He took the opportunity to hit you while he was saving them." The villain chuckles sarcastically. "It's the violence of a government official. He is quite fast, as expected. I couldn't follow him with my eyes. But not as fast as expected. Could it be that our intel was true after all…?" Shigaraki's lips twitch up into a wide amused smile as his scarlet red eyes focus on the Symbol of Peace. "…that he's getting weaker."
"All Might you have to stay back, that villain with the brain matter…!" Izuku yells to All Might in hysteria for him, she saw how much damage that thing has caused to her teacher. She does not want the same happening to her father figure.
"That villain from earlier had blocked my punch like it was nothing…!" The girl kept on stammering in panic, she turned directly towards him. "All Might, you just can't—he took One Fo—" Izuku catches herself. "—my punch. He took the punch like nothing, he's gotta be the one who—"
All Might interrupts the girl by extending his hand out. "Young Izu!" He then turns around, flashing a reassuring smile as he holds a peace sign by his face. "It's fine!"
Izuku's emerald eyes widen as she sees that smile—that reassuring smile that always pushed her forward in tough situations. Yet, for some reason, the usual bubbly feeling didn't rise in her chest as it would have. The girl lowers her head in defeat scowling before glancing at the fatally injured teacher on her back. Aizawa can't stay here any longer, she needs to do her duty to save him.
Turning around toward the entrance, Izuku begins to carry Aizawa along, with Mineta carrying Aizawa's feet to prevent the man from being dragged and Asui handling the injured man's dangling arm.
All Might watches as his students leave, carrying their injured teacher away. He then turns to Shigaraki charging at him at full speed with his arms crossed. "Carolina…"
"Nomu," Shigaraki Tomura mutters. On cue, the buff pitch-black monster stomps in front of the leader, to block the incoming attack.
"…Smash!" All Might's assault causes the water in the lake beside him to split and splash outward like a giant wave as a result of his attack. Despite suffering a hit that should have had a significant impact, the Nomu stands tall, as if the attack had done no harm at all.
It snarls while the monster's creepy eyes narrow in on All Might. The Nomu leaps forward, swinging its arms to grab All Might's head. All Might, on the other hand, avoids the attack by leaning back and bending his legs forward in a quick movement. "I can't believe it, my blows aren't working at all?! HA!" All Might groan before punching the villain in the stomach.
The Nomu didn't flinch at all from the punch and only continued to attack All Might, leading the hero to dodge. "In that case—" All Might shouted as he winds his fist back before punching the creature in the face several times.
"There's no effect because he's got the Shock Absorption," Shigaraki reveals from the sidelines. "If you really want to cause damage to Nomu, you'd be better off to slowly gouge out his flesh." The villain laughs, "Not that he'll give you a chance, though."
"Heh," All Might chuckled before dashing behind the larger villain. "Thanks for telling me all that info!" He then wraps his arms around the Nomu's waist. "No sweat!" He grunts as starts to grip the Nomu harder and lifts the large enemy into the air and over his head before crashing it down into the ground with a huge burst of waves around him.
Meanwhile, the trio escorting Aizawa to the entrance turn their heads towards the fight at the sound of the explosion. "How did he make a suplex look like an explosion?!" Mineta questions in awe. "All Might's really in a whole different league!"
"Even though he's a rookie teacher who can't teach without looking at his notes." Asui comments, scratching her cheek.
Izuku is silent while her classmates banter over the fight, staring at the scene with unnerving worry. She couldn't exactly explain it, but she had a really bad feeling about all of this. They really may have a way to kill him… The girl looks away and continues to walk. Even so, there's nothing we can do right now.
'They might have a way to kill him while we are here being helpless...we may slow him down if they take us as a hostage but still it's worth a try….but we gotta trust in All Might, right…?' Izuku deeply thought, she couldn't help but feel distracted.
"Midoriya?" Mineta asks as he stops, noticing how the curly-haired girl stopped moving.
Asui tilts her head. "Midoriya-chan, what's wrong?"
"Let's stand still and let me heal Aizawa-sensei!", Tsuyu quickly got the message and helped the two lay Aizawa on the floor. Izuku then unclasped her gauze pouch from her first aid belt and began to wrap it around his elbow. She checked his vitals and frowned from the faint heart rate, she needed to hurry! Izuku concentrated on her hands, 'Try not to make the egg explode!', she thought and it turned into a faint green.
She placed her hands towards his head and slowly healed the deep gash he has on his head. When she saw he stopped bleeding from there, Izuku placed her hand on the lacerated elbow to make sure the destroyed skin cells regenerated back. She noticed that her teacher's rigid breathing started to turn back into normal breaths but he was still unconscious. The familiar tired feeling started to creep back up again, the next move is going to be a super risky one.
"Asui-san, please take my place and carry Aizawa-sensei to the entrance!" Izuku hastily turns to the other green-haired girl, desperately. This will definitely knock her out for the next couple of days but this is an emergency and she must do it. She then ate two more soldier pills and looked over to her mentor to see if his assault worked.
Her eyes widened when she heard a gurgling cough from his direction. Once the fog clears, it reveals All Might bend over, holding the Nomu in a suplex position. "Ugh! Is…" All Might groans, his voice quivering from what it seems in pain. "Is that how it is?"
On the bottom, Kurogiri reappeared again on where the Nomu had landed and another beneath All Might's arched back. The Nomu's dark fingers are on All Might's sides, digging into his sensitive areas and drawing blood from their strong grip. All Might cough even more blood from that action which caused Izuku to gasp.
"Did you hope to try to drive him into the concrete to stop his movements?" Shigaraki laughs. It wouldn't have worked because Nomu is designed to be as strong as you are."Nomu digs his hands deeper on All Might's stomach. All Might groans loudly in pain and glares at the villains as the shaggy-haired villain turns to his warp companion. "This is good, Kurogiri. Perfect timing."
Narrowing his golden eyes, Kurogiri shrinks the portals as the Nomu digs its fingers even deeper into All Might's stomach.
All Might grits his teeth. 'Stop it!' He then releases the Nomu's body and grips its hand to try to pry its fingers off of him. However, All Might is unable to pry the Nomu's hands as the creature lived up to the claim of having as much power as All Might. 'What power...!'
"Impressive for first-time offenders...but prepare yourselves for what's coming…!"
Shigaraki looks blankly at his enemy and sighs before reaching up to scratch his neck. "Kurogiri."
"I can't say that I like the idea of having blood and guts inside my gate but," Kurogiri taunts All Might. "I'll happily oblige if they're yours." Kurogiri begins closing around the Nomu and All Might into his warp gate. "You see, it was Nomu's job to get around that blinding speed of yours and trap you. And it's my job to close the warp gate while you're halfway through and immobilized." The warp villain explains, "Thereby cutting you into two."
All Might scowl at the villain.
Hearing the warp gate's plan made her start jogging to her mentor. The image of him getting split in half was plastered all over her head.
'No…!'
Izuku rushes off, leaving her two classmates behind with confusion.
"Midoriya-chan! Wait!" Mineta calls out but it goes to deaf ears.
'No… All Might…!'
Izuku runs, desperately—tears rolling out of her eyes and floating in the air as she picks up her speed. Her loose curls were bouncing in the air as she desperately got closer. Memories of her spending time with her father figure started to replay in her head as she sobbed while running.
'There are still tons of things I want you to teach me! To do with me!'
"ALL MIGHT!"
Hearing the familiar voice, All Might tilts his head and catches sight of his green-haired disciple. 'Young Izu? Get away!'
The girl with her curly green hair riding in the wind continues to dash towards the imprisoned man, tears escaping her eyes. Shigaraki notices the approaching girl, she caught his attention for demonstrating a similar power to All Might's and this closeness he was with her. He had to do something about her, "Kurogiri…", his arm starting to reach out mid-air. The warp gate fazes over in front of All Might and where Shigaraki is at. How foolish. Kurogiri blocked the girl from the Symbol of Peace, instead, a pale arm started to reach to her face the same way it did to Asui.
Izuku's emerald eyes widen and dilate as she moves in slow motion—her body reaching towards the main villain's dangerous hand. Her mouth is wide open, her eyes filled with tears and desperation as she realizes that she can't stop her steps.
BOOM!
Just in time, Bakugo appeared from behind, pulled Izuku aggressively behind him causing her to fall to her bottom, and swatted his hand to create an explosion towards the pale arm.
"Deku, get the hell out of here!" Katsuki screams at her as he brought his other arm up to hit Kurogiri directly causing him to retrieve from the pain
It took Izuku a moment to realize what had just happened, Kacchan just saved her life!
He grabs Kurogiri's metal device and slams it on the ground with a blast. Then, ice appeared on the ground and spread through the floor towards the Nomu's feet before freezing on its right side. The freezing ice expanded over the Nomu's legs and torso, engulfing half of its limbs in ice.
All Might notes the monster's grip loosening as his eyes are drawn to the source of the ice. Todoroki stands a few meters away, his right foot above the frozen floor. "All I heard was that you all are here to kill All Might," Todoroki calls out to the villains. All Might leaps away from the monster now that his grip is loose enough to move away.
"HA!" Kirishima cries out while his activated Hardening quirk tries to hit Shigaraki but swiftly dodges the punch although he's injured from Bakugo's assault, "Damn it! I almost had him!" he says annoyed at the villain.
"You're not all that, you misty mook!", Katsuki gave Kurogiri a murderous look, feeling livid from what he tried to do to All Might and Deku.
"Scum like you could never kill the symbol of peace." Todoroki declares.
Izuku's eyes began to tear up from seeing the class's most powerful students standing by to protect All Might. "Kacchan…! Everyone…!" Her tears start to fall, Izuku hastily rubs them out with the back of her hand. The green-haired girl then brings herself to glare at the enemy's leader.
They are here to protect All Might as much as they could even if they are rookie heroes. They must keep All Might alive.
