"Yes Elijah." Klaus says sharply. "I was there."

He hears Elijah growl on the other end of the phone. "The Martin's and I will be there soon Niklaus."

"Good." He replies sternly.

"But after this our siblings must be freed Niklaus." The older brother demands tightly. "They shall not remain daggered by you any longer."

"After the ritual they may be freed." Nik snaps back in annoyance, damn woman and knowing his secrets. "We do not have time to argue brother. Who knows what the Salvatore's may do to her while we dawdle."

In simple terms he was down right murderous. Having to watch such a display angered him, seeing the way she stated what happened. It was the eerie calmness of her words that got him the most and the lightheartedness in her eyes as if she was detached. While he himself is an evil bastard and he won't deny to being quite sadistic at times there are boundaries you don't cross.

He has hit a woman before - hell, he ripped his own mother's heart out. But Elena wasn't provoking them, she was tied tightly to a chair and making quips as if she was sitting at a dinner party of her own making. Of course, he does plan on sacrificing her - and he would do it regardless of her permission to do so.

But he had also felt rage like never before. It was odd.

So much rage had rushed through him at her state when he arrived. As she still fought when she knew that she wouldn't win. Courageous. This Elena is courageous and seemingly smart (perhaps a bit too carefree), seeking him out while stuck with his big brother, stealing his brothers cellphone. She's resourceful and intelligent enough to see between his brothers lies and outsmart him.

Then there's how she seems to know a hell of a lot more then she should, things that only he knew or just his siblings knew. She's a mystery, an enigma and feisty as well.

--

When I finally hear the click of the lock signifying that it has been successfully picked I place the hairpin back in my pocket just in case of emergencies. I was lucky it didn't break and that it actually worked. Slowly I open the cell door just enough and I slip out, closing it quietly behind me. Making sure not to go into the main house I walk to the cellar door that should lead outside.

Chances are that I will get lost in the woods since I don't know my way around but as long as I find a lake that I can swim in I don't care. It was uncomfortable showering at the boarding house, more so because Damon and/or Stefan stayed in the bathroom during such times. Talk about an invasion of privacy.

Creeps.

Running, that's what I started to do, I ran as fast as my legs would carry me without looking back when an arm wrapped around my throat and tightly enclosed around my waist. My back was pushed against a hard chest as I struggle but the arms tighten more cutting off my air supply. I still the moment I hear Damon's voice in my ear as a spark of horror courses through my body.

"Come on Elena. You know better." He says gently in my ear, mockingly as I try to jerk away only for his arm to tighten around my waist. "Don't you like this?"

His hand moves from around my throat and his fingers start caressing my hair, but his other arm remains tightly around my waist. Chances are that I will have bruises. I try to remember where I stuffed the pencil that I found. It's not in my pocket, it's too long and the pockets are way too small. My body felt frozen in horror at my predicament.

As his mouth goes to my neck I hold back a scream and I do my best to force back the horrified emotions. My teeth grind together as his free hand grips my hair tightly and then he angles my neck up for him. Damon's teeth moves along my shoulder but he doesn't break the skin.

"Get off of me Damon." I tell him through gritted teeth, my voice low and menacing as I attempt to yank away again.

In response he chuckles lowly and at vampire speed he slams me into a tree, his arm quickly moves from my hair to holding me against the tree by my neck. I feel my breath leave me as his hold tightens before he looses his grip, but only just so that I can get a little bit of air. His eyes are a dark blue as he looks at me, somewhat of a smirk on his lips.

Just by how he has his hand over my throat I know a lot of this is about him being in control. If he adds just a little bit more pressure then I won't be able to breathe again. His other hand has captured my wrists before he even slammed me into the tree, the strength of his hold on my wrists already causing the scabs on them to reopen.

--

When Elijah and Niklaus arrived at the boarding house they didn't bother with pleasantries. Elijah reaches the door of the Salvatore's place first. After opening it he tries to go past the barrier only to be stopped. They don't have entry into the house. With a low growl he glances towards his wild brother.

"We cannot enter." He says sharply as he looks around from the entrance.

Niklaus hums in response as he looks at it. "Do we know who can get us in?"

"The Salvatore's are vampires and they take up residency here." Elijah says with a sigh. "So, no. I am unaware of whom holds the deed."

"Smart." The hybrid mutters dryly as he looks at the large house. "I only hear a faint heartbeat and it's beat doesn't match hers."

Elijah raises an eyebrow at his younger brother. "You could hear her heartbeat from your meat-suit brother?"

His mouth lifts slightly at his brothers words and he shrugs. "Yea. She may have attempted an escape.. the young woman seems the type."

The older brother nods thoughtfully before he grimaced. "Perhaps, especially if they were treating her as poorly as you say."

Niklaus grits his teeth as he carefully steadies his voice. He shall save his viciousness for when he gets ahold of both of those Salvatore's. "I believe that Elena has more daring then you know brother."

"Yes. She did seem to lack self preservation as well. Is that not shocking? But then she also claimed to desire the life of a kitten instead of one as a human."

--

Damon lets go of my wrists, the look on his face is gentle even as he has me in a choke hold and that is a bit unsettling. "Elena, this could have been so much easier if you behaved. We just want what's best for you."

My hands hold tightly around his wrist as I try to push him away, but his arm doesn't budge even an inch. Did this situation cause him to loose his shit? Like, is the other Elena's presence so important that he's flipped his shit?

One of his fingers begin to gently touch my hair. I try to cringe away. Not that I could anyways. I'm stuck against a tree and if I reach for my leg to grab the pencil it would be too obvious.

"You are so beautiful." He whispers as his eyes lock with mine. "Even when you're like this. When you disappeared I didn't think I would be able to see you again, it's when I realized that I loved you so much because - because I do. You - I can't let you go Elena. I can't."

The pressure of his hand against my neck increases and my mouth opens searching for air when suddenly his tongue is in my mouth and his body is pressing against mine. My hands release his wrist and I beat my hands against his chest to get him to get off of me. His hand tightens around my throat even more and I let out another gasp as he continues to force the kiss.

My vision has started to get spotty, lifting my leg up against the tree I try to find the sharpened pencil I have inside of my boot. When my hand wraps around it I swiftly hook my foot with his and yank as hard as possible towards me causing us to topple over. We both go down with a thump and in my case a groan.

Quickly I slam the pencil down, it goes through his neck. My eyes go wide as he lets out an inhuman growl and I bolt. I wasn't fast enough though, swiftly he caught my leg with his hand. The action sends me falling to the ground hard. His legs were suddenly over my hips as I screamed. Then he was thrown off of me and I grab the branch nearest to me only to see Caroline trying to fight with him.

--

"Odd girl that one." Niklaus mutters quietly, his brother nodding in agreement as he hears a scream far off in the distance.

--

"Don't touch her." Caroline snarls as she pushes him into a tree, her hands firmly around his neck.

He kicks her off and she flies across the clearing. Instantly he is in front of me, when I try to stab him with the branch he chuckles in amusement.

"Settle down Vampire Slayer." He quips playfully as he grabs my wrist tightly, a teasing smirk on his face as he twists my hand.

Gritting my teeth I refuse to drop my only weapon to defend myself. His smirk drops and his eyes narrow at me.

"Let go of the branch Elena." He whispers, his tone deceptively gentle.

"No." I snap angrily as I try to yank my arm away from him again.

Damon frowns and then lets out a resigned sigh and snaps my wrist, the branch clatters to the ground. Bitting my lip to avoid letting out a cry, but I still whimper at the pain as I swallow my scream. I feel a wave of nausea set in from the pain. He shakes his head and tsks at me as if he's disappointed in me. As if I am at fault for this. Then with a deep breath I slam my head right into his.

His hold only tightens around me and he growls, when he straightens himself back up his hand raises. I can feel a cut form on the side of my mouth from the harshness of his hit.

"Now, how about you be a good little girl and we will put you somewhere safe?" He says almost tauntingly as he tilts my head with his fingers and pecks me on the side of my bleeding mouth.

I can feel his tongue graze over my cheek to taste the dripping blood and the satisfied moan that leaves his mouth. Cringing in disgust I try to pull away farther and his hold tightens around my broken wrist. Again I have to fight back the nausea as it builds up. Then there's a flash of long blonde hair and dainty hands on Damon's neck before he falls to the ground with a light thump.

"Hi." Caroline greets me looking a bit uncomfortable as she quickly moves in front of me causing me to automatically flinch back. "Sorry. Are you okay? We need to leave before he wakes up and Stefan shows up."

"Broken wrist." I mumble as I try to shake off the pain. "Fine. I'm uh, fine. Can we, can we go?"

She nods solemnly and grabs hold of me. We both ignore my flinch at the touch. Huh, I didn't realize the situation affected me so badly. Then as she's speeding through the forest we're suddenly hidden behind a tree, her hand is on her lips. Glancing around I notice the group of people camping. One of them a blonde from the show and the guy beside her.

--

Klaus holds back a snarl as he smells her blood in the air. As they rush towards the smell and the sound all that is left are traces of her scent in the air when they arrive. They smell two different vampires and find a pencil on the ground with a coat of blood on it. A short distance away there is a broken tree. The vampire that had been there is now gone.

--

"Julies." Caroline whispers like a curse and glances back at me with a frown. "She's looking for Mason and so are the rest of them. Well, that and Tyler."

"Do you smell that?" One of the werewolves ask as they glance around. "Blood."

"I smell a vampire." Another one grumbles in annoyance.

I bite my lip and give a curt nod. Just my luck, from one shitty situation right into the next. Caroline presses her lips together and just when we're about to go another way a few of the human werewolves were standing in front of us. She moves her arms to block me, pushing me up against the tree.

"Hi!" She greets them cheerfully and I try not to giggle. "We just got a little lost."

"She's not wrong." I say from behind her, glancing around her I see them looking between us with a scowl.

They glance at each other. "Isn't that the bitchy vampire that Mason was dating?" One of them asks gruffly with a snarl on his face.

"Certainly looks like it." The other says with a frown and then he shouts. "Brady. Get over here."

"There's a slight issue with that." I quip uncomfortably. "I would have to be a vampire and I'm definitely not one. If you wouldn't mind helping a girl out then I have two suggestions of vampire victims for your wolfy bloodlustinesses deeds."

When Jules comes into view I nearly curse. So instead I smile and wave, in reply she raises an eyebrow at me. Brady stands slightly beside her as he looks at us with a frown.

"You're the blonde that Tyler - likes." Jules says as she looks over Caroline with a frown. "The vampire girl."

"Good thing too." I mutter while knowing full well that they can still hear me. "That guy needs someone bubbly in his life. His father was a right and utter bastard."

"Elena." Caroline whispers snappishly.

I raise an eyebrow and shrug my shoulders. "I always found you two adorable. When he doesn't have a stick up his ass he seems okay. Kind of like Eli and Jonas you know. When I was staying with them they didn't let me try to sleep in the sink. That was kind of disappointing and I really wanted to be a cat after I died. Sleep and cuddles."

"Ahh, dopplelicuous - same as the last time I saw you I see." I hear Trevor say dryly as he sits on a tree branch.

--

That's when the sound of conversation is heard.

"You know your scent kind of overpowers the air around here." They hear Trevor say conversationally to whom they assume is Elena.

She hums in response. "That's what happens when you're the one bleeding I suppose."

"Elena." Her name is stressed by a female vampire. "Do you have a death wish? We need to leave."

"True." She mumbles. "Damon is a major issue.. why couldn't I have just been a cat?"

"Besides." The female werewolf says sharply. "What makes you think that we will allow you to leave?"

Elijah glances at Niklaus who is about ready to attack the group of vampires head on. "We could call the Martin's."

The hybrid shakes his head and looks at his brother as if he lost his damn mind. "No Elijah, I do not need the witches to win this fight for me. Besides - I am in need of a werewolf sacrifice for the ritual."

--

I look at Jules and shrug my shoulders. "Well, technically you don't have to allow anything. It's a free country - sort of at the moment so.. to put it mildly. Your opinion or demands mean - absolutely nothing to me."

"They could kill me." Caroline whispers.

Trevor jumps down from a tree and places himself slightly behind me and a fraction in front of Caroline. "Or me."

"I highly doubt dog toys would distract them." I mutter lightly as Klaus comes out and begins snapping the werewolves necks viciously.

Honestly, who would expect him to come through and snap spines off of the werewolves? Marcel's army sure, the Salvatore's if he wasn't so sentimental.. also sure. But these guys? Color me surprised.

"Go Klaus!" I say cheerfully before turning towards Caroline with a beaming smile. "Isn't he adorable?"

After he knocks out Jules and stands in front of us, covered in blood and I must say .. sexy as hell looking. Well, that and a wee bit evil but it suits him.

"Enjoyed the show, love?" He asks lightly as he looks at me with slight amusement and a raised eyebrow.

"Definitely. Much better then being tied to a chair or locked up somewhere." Or assaulted, or harassed ..

The look on the soon to be hybrids face darkens considerably and his fists tighten until he knuckles turn white. His blue-green eyes hold anger, because of the situation or for another reason I'm unaware of perhaps. Then he closes his eyes and takes a deep breathe and his fists loosen, moments later he stands casually as if he wasn't ready to go on a murderous rampage, but his eyes follow me closely. Almost as if he expects me to make a run for it or something.

Elijah lets out a sigh as he walks towards the female werewolf and picks her up bridal style. "I shall have the Martin's place her somewhere for - safe keeping until the full moon."

Caroline gaps beside me and points at Klaus in disbelief. "That's him?" Then she glances at Elijah and she begins to check him out, her cheeks turn a brilliant shade of pink.

"Yeah." I tell her with a small smirk. "He's a total badass. Elijah is alright too, but I think he needs a bit more fun in his life."
