It has been six week since my mother was killed. It seems the man that killed her did not know I was there and left soon after. I could not move for hours due to chi exhaustion where I just cried until nothing was left. Soon a couple of passersby found me and my mom's body and called the cops and the ambulance.
After a few days they asked me what happened so I told them everything there was no point hiding and quickly started to explain what happened and how I seized up at the situation which they believed. Of course they did. I was a six year old that saw my mom get murdered.
After the funeral , a colleague of my mother came up to me with her will. He first gave me a book telling me that the Book held personal family information along with saying that all of my mothers assets along with her life insurance will be given to me when I came of age. Which means that I will gain them when I turn 18.
I opened the book to find a letter waiting for me. I opened to reveal some earth shattering secrets about my family.
Dear Reuben
If you are reading this, that means that I have perished, forgive me my sweet boy but I have to tell you some things about my family. We are not ordinary humans, we are Lycanthropes or otherwise better known as Werewolves.
This world is inhabited not just by humans but the supernatural exists by them side by side. These are limited to three specific species. The Werewolf , The Vampires and The Witches.
Now we are werewolves, the gene to become a wolf has been in both mine and your fathers family. Both of us belonged to two ancient packs that originated the werewolves. I was a Malaruex while your father was a Paxon.
Now listen to me carefully despite me giving you this information, It does not mean that you have to get involved with the supernatural. It is a dangerous life, something I never want for you.
Being a Werewolf does not mean we can live without consequences and the process itself is terrifying. Activating the ability you will have to kill a human and within the next full moon you will be a wolf.
However being a wolf is not a simple change every bone in your body will shatter and reform itself the pain is like nothing you ever had before. And you will gain enemies that attack you because of what you are. By this I mean vampires since our bite is venomous and kills them with just a nip. This was why our family was massacred by them , forgive me for lying to you.
This Book is spelled by a witch friend of mine so that only you can read and open it. Furthermore this book is the total amount of supernatural history that both mine and your fathers pack acquired since the beginning.

I will acquire strength to survive in this world to make sure that nothing will ever be taken from me again. For that to happen I have to master chi and make sure that I won't be under any supernatural radar until then.
9 years later
During these 9 years I focused on understanding and mastering to their utmost limits and I have turned to the most valuable resource to achieve this: Ancient chinese text and comics. Yep you heard me comics where a major resource after it was modern day myth and concepts chi are used as the basis for these particular comics. The ones used were from Japan , China and Japan of course I used some western comics you know like iron fist.
First I found out that the concept of Chakra gates was actually a thing but I held off from opening them. From what I discovered from searching for my chakra gates is that they have to be forced open. However this was risky to do since this was something that I had no proper information about , except for what I found in naruto.I felt I needed to refine my body to the maximum potential.
So that led to another discovery and that was the concept of impurities within the body. So to explain impurities are like road bumps that hinder or sometimes block the passage chi throughout the whole body. To get rid of these impurities was essential to someone who wanted to control their chi. So for one to get rid of their impurities they had to spread their chi throughout their body and when come into contact with something that was impeding that was the impurity. So after finding them I then use my chi to force them out my body. The process was painful but afterwards. The relief and relaxed feeling you get is insane.
After I cleaned myself of the impurities these black muck that stank like hell was covering every pore in my body. After I took a quick bath I noticed that my skin was much more sensitive and softer while my muscles were more reactive and buoyant. I felt I could sprint across an entire stadium and would not feel a shred of tiredness aching in my bones.
Anyway after I discovered these I focused on creating my own moves to defend myself when I plunge into the supernatural. To do this I focused on the basics that I could do and those were Chi sense and Chi enhancement which would allow me to see the aura of different people and enhance my strength respectively.
From that I managed to create 4 different skills using my chi. The first skill that I developed was a sensory skill called eagle vision, including the power of aura vision it gave me to see footprints , long distance vision and a person's emotions. Due to this I named it after the Assassin Creed skill that gave a similar ability.
The second was Divergent fist this by striking with my fist using a thin layer of Chi, a second wave of Chi is unleashed a few moments afterward, effectively creating two impacts with one punch. Inspiration comes from those who know Jujutsu Kaisen which is, I quote, one of the best manga out there.
The Third ability was something I created when I was trying to do an energy attack from Dragon Ball thinking that it might be possible for my Chi to do such an ability. However, it turns out that my Chi cannot do such attacks; however it did accidently pressurise the air between my palm and shoot it out. And thus my air palm canon was finally created but the thing takes a shit ton of energy from me to use though.
The final technique that I have created was Chi healing and Chi drain. This was one of the most essential and practical techniques that I have created. The reason why I group these two as the one techniques is because the techniques were the same in concept. Turns out everything has Chi in it because they lacked the Dantian to access like I do so they can't use it. With Chi healing I can imbue chi in living organisms to increase their vitality and regenerative powers. While Chi drain does the opposite and pulls Chi from others and incorporates but there is a limit on how much I can pull. Inspiration comes from Kai from Kung Fu Panda
"Hey Reube what are you thinking about?" I heard someone calling to me. I pulled away from my thoughts and got out of my bed. I looked to see Landon, my pseudo-foster brother. He just looked at me.
"Nothing Lan, Don't worry about it I have to get ready for my job at the Grill" I said to him as I was getting ready. After my mother was murdered I went through several different foster homes. Currently I was in Mystic Falls with another Boy who was known as Landon Kirby.
"Oh please I know what you really want to do is to spend time with Hope right? Just be upfront with your emotions" He said to me . To which I just replied with a massive glare in which he just shrugged without any care.
Hope Marshall she was a beautiful girl that went to another school in town known as the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted while me and Landon went to Mystic Falls High. While I did have feelings for her I don't think I can act on it. She was a normal girl while I was someone who was planning to enter the supernatural the moment I came of age. It would not be for her and time will eventually fade away my affection for her.
"Oh yeah I heard that Connor is probably going to hit up the grill ,so be careful" Landon said to me "But I know you could probably beat them since you know all those martial arts"
A side perk from Chi Prodigy was it made me someone who was skilled at learning martial arts. I have learned Boxing , Karate , Judo, Muay Thai and Kung Fu. I thought it was better for me to have a plethora of fighting styles so that when supported with my Chi and abilities that it will be a deadly combo.
As for who Connor was, he was that entitled rich guy that semi-good at athletics and thinks that the whole world revolves around him. He was the type of bastard that I would love to crush but I wanted to keep a semi-low profile. Since his dad was someone that had a massive say in what happens in the Town picking a fight with him will not help my end goal actually it will be a hassle. So to get him off my back I used my chi as an oppressive aura against him. Chi is invisible unless it is visible so no one could see me use it.
I got dressed in my grill uniform and made my way to my job. As I got there I was immediately put to work. I was waiting tables and cleaning after the customers. Soon I saw a familiar figure sitting at one of the tables.
I saw Hope and a black haired man that was talking to her. I went to get their order and to make sure that everything was fine since I felt a deep sadness in them. I knew what Hope likes so I just went ahead and got it for her.
"Hey Hope I know what you want so I went ahead and got one Peanut Butter blast and whip cream on the bottom. And anything for you sir?" I asked the man she was sitting opposite to.
"Thanks Reube , this my uncle" Hope said I pulled and he shook it. He had a slight smile adorning his face.
"It is a pleasure meeting you sir and Hope is everything alright it's just that you have not been around lately" I asked her with concern she had a deep sadness in her heart this made me worried.
"It's nothing, just some stuff back home?" I nodded, not fully convinced but I just shook it off, probably not wanting to be rude if I was being too nosy, especially with her uncle here.
"Actually there is a music thing that they will be playing in the square tonight, you know if you want to go tonight?" I asked her. I had feelings for her and I know I would regret it unless I will make use of this chance just once.
"Actually there is something that I have to do, sorry Reube" She said looking down. I would be lying saying that it did not make me sad but what can I do? I just nodded and bid her and her uncle a farewell and carried on with my job.
Elijah POV
I was taking Hope out trying to spend some time with her. But sadness and self hatred burrowed itself deep inside my heart. Due to my pathetic state I betrayed the brother I swore to protect , killed the woman I loved and put the niece my family sacrificed everything at death's door. And worst of all she lost sight of her future simply resolving herself to her doom.
I will not allow that to happen. She is my brother's redemption , the child of my love and my precious niece. She needed to know that she had Hope. So I took her to Mystic Falls and tried to get her to look forward to her future. We soon went to the Mystic Grill where I saw an interaction that I did not expect.
A boy who worked there just walked up to our table with a that Hope was a regular customer to grill so much so that boy knew her order. Upon closer look the boy has light tan skin , hair so vibrant that it bordered on ruby and his eyes were a golden amber that reminded me of a werewolves gaze.
The affection between the boy who I found out was called Reube and my niece was easy to see due the way they stared at each other. I think I understand why Hope never fell for Roman , Antoinette's brother, like their depraved mother plan; she had affection for this boy. The Boy asked her if she would go dancing with him. Which was rather brave asking her like that infront of her uncle but I saw Hope's eyes. She wanted to say yes but she declined.
"Why did you reject his offer?" I asked her .The feelings she had for him were obvious but what made her decline his offer.
"Because I am going to be dead soon" The moment she said that so resolutely was heartbreaking to me.
