Chapter 3 – Divulging Secrets

Now that Alucard and Vittoria were in the office, with Vittoria sitting behind the desk and Alucard sitting in front. Making Alucard realise he will need his own office soon, there was just something about being the one behind the desk rather than in front of it that appealed to him since that would be where the one in charge sits.

"OK Alucard, tell me what you say you know and we will go from there" states Vittoria, still clearly having trouble believing Alucard's outrageous claims but willing to indulge him, he is currently only a child and it is obvious to Alucard that she cares for him deeply. Alucard gives her a look as he thinks about where to begin, ironically the best bet would be the beginning.

"Fair enough, Aunt Vittoria, how about we start with telling you about my last lives memories?" Alucard then goes on to explain how he didn't used to have magic, he was born in 1989, just grew up a typical muggle life, went to school, made friends, how he attempted to join the army after school but tore a ligament in his knee near the end of his training so left the army, he then went to college to study computing. He needed to stop and explain what certain things were, as they came out in the future or Vittoria even being quite comfortable in the muggle world just didn't know about. She seems quite incredulous about the idea of smartphones existing in merely 20 years, She could also see that if such things did exist that they would make hiding the magical world a great deal more difficult.

Alucard then went on to explain that he apparently died, how he got an info dump about being a powerful soul that had certain powers, he decided against mentioning Isis at the moment, doesn't want Vittoria thinking there was someone out there talking to him and influencing his choices, which ironically she was. [Hey, I'm only here to help Master] exclaims Isis, interrupting him, clearly having been following the conversation and his thoughts. After Mentally reassuring her he continues with his explanation. It may have seemed like the interruption would have taken some time but in reality, it was only a second or two.

He had kept his explanation fairly brief so there weren't too many details, she looked fairly interested in the way that someone does when they are being told a story and waiting for the twist, but there was no twist in his old life, if you don't count death and being reborn that is, now was the moment to explain things that could be his proof of being honest with her.

"Now Aunt Vittoria, there was something I didn't mention when I explained when I was explaining my first life because this is what might just convince you I'm being honest. When I was growing up there was a book series, it became one of the most popular book series in the world" After having got this far in his explanation he looked at her in the eyes to watch her reaction. "It was about a secret magically world hidden beside the ordinary world, the book was based on a boys time at a magical school. The boy was called Harry Potter". As soon as he said that name he was surprised as he saw her scoff with exasperation.

"Alucard, I can't believe that you believe that Harry Potter rubbish, I'll have to find the maid that let you read those sorry excuses for books" Ah, now he sees, she thinks that he was talking about those harry potter books that were mentioned in the books he read. He quickly goes on to explain that he was not talking about those books.

"No no no, I'm not talking about them Aunt Vittoria, it's about the same boy but the books I'm talking about are from his time at Hogwarts, They are titled

Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone

Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and the goblet of fire

Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix

Harry Potter and the half-blood Prince

and

Harry Potter and the deathly hallows" he finishes listing the book titles.

"They tell the tale of Harry Potter and his battle against Voldemort" He adds, now there was a sentence that got her full attention and wiped the small smile from her face.

"Voldemort is dead Alucard, if he was alive he would not have stayed silent all this time, and although some of his followers got away with their crimes, the rest were caught and put in prison, you don't need to worry about this" she seems to be worried that I'm having problems again, from the new memories that I have I can see for a long time after my parents were killed I had nightmares of Voldemort and his Death Eaters coming after me.

"According to the books, he didn't actually die, he had split his soul" that was as far as I got before Vittoria stood knocking her chair over, slamming her hands down on the desk.

"HE MADE A HORCRUX!" this fact had clearly enraged her, enough to make her momentarily forget that she didn't actually believe my story yet, it didn't shock Alucard that she knew what a Horcrux was, she was the regent to house Lestrange after all.

"He made 7" this sentence seems to have shocked her speechless, almost absentmindedly she waves her hand righting her chair for her to fall into, 'interesting' Alucard thinks to himself seeing the effortless use of wandless magic. Vittoria now seems very serious as she looks at me.

"Ok Alucard, explain from the beginning because I know none of the maids here would be stupid enough to mention Horcruxes near you, most of them probably haven't even heard of them. What happened in the first so-called book?" Alucard now seeing that she is taking him more seriously than her previous indulgence, starts explaining the main plot points of the book. As he explains he can tell she has to stop herself interrupting several times, thankfully waiting till the end so this doesn't take too long. After the explanation, she has some very interesting things to say about many of the characters from the story, enough to make Alucard mentally chuckle. Some of the most favourite characters from his past life relegated to senile, morons, child abusers or idiots is somewhat amusing and the fact it's only the first book makes that mental chuckle an actual chuckle.

"Are you joking with me right now Alucard Lestrange?" asks Vittoria sharply.

"No Aunt Vittoria, I just have memories of those people that you are insulting being the most beloved characters. And it is only the first book." Alucard responds.

"How is that possible? what was wrong with your world that they liked these, these people, what do you mean it's just the first book? It gets worse?" Vittoria asked.

Vittoria's question makes Alucard laugh aloud, "Haha yeah it gets worse, the first book was aimed at children, the get progressively darker, so shall we continue to Harry's second year?" he asked her with some amusement, thinking her reactions to the books are better than the actual books.

Vittoria holds up her hand signalling him to wait a moment before calling for one of the house-elves to fetch them some refreshments before gesturing for Alucard to continue. Alucard was quite thankful as he hadn't noticed how thirsty the conversation was making him. After having a drink, he continues on to explain what happened in Harry Potters second year at the safest place in the world. Keeping Vittoria in suspense over what the monster is, was quite fun, though he thought that had she been giving a bit of time she may have guessed what it was by the occasional thoughtful face she made. When he got to the spirit of Voldemort and then the basilisk he was sure she must be trying hard to stop herself cursing both verbally and magically if the expression on her face was anything to go on.

Alucard continued explaining book after book with varying levels of interruptions from mumbling under her breath to exclamations of shock or swearing, when he explained about the Azkaban prisoners getting free he could have sworn the temperature in the room dropped a few degrees and the truly terrifying look in her eyes reminding me that this woman was my mother's bodyguard, meaning she is an extremely deadly fighter.

It took him a few seconds to realise why her reaction was so extreme and he almost kicked himself when he had not realised it sooner, people breaking out from Azkaban includes those that killed his parents, also known as Vittoria Best friend.

After he had finished going through explaining all the books he feels he has some more to add "Well that was the books from my old world, now I believe that they will mostly be accurate for the main points but there will likely be some minor or major changes in this world". Vittoria just sits there in silence, leaving Alucard unsure of what she is thinking about.

"So Alucard, why are you telling me all this? Presuming it's true, which I'm not sure it is but you have given enough details that I will give you the benefit of the doubt for the moment until we can prove any of this one way or another" Said Vittoria.

"Thank you, Vittoria, I'm glad I trusted you with this. Now as to why I told you, there are multiple reasons, firstly so that you would believe I'm not crazy by acting different, I guess I could have tried to stay the same and change slowly but that would be wasting a lot of time. Also, it was in order to get your assistance with anything that you might not have wanted me to do before when I was just a 10-year-old boy." Said Alucard.

"You are just a 10-year-old boy" Vittoria adds, however, Alucard just continues pretending to have not heard her.

"I also want your help coming up with plans to use this information to get the most benefits with the least amount of trouble. Plus, I have never really taken an interest in my family management and will need you to give me a rundown on what we have to work with" Finishes Alucard.

Vittoria is silent for a minute, clearly thinking about what Alucard has said. Then she opens her eyes and looks at him. "Ok, I will help you, although I'm already oath-bound to you so I wouldn't really have a choice anyway" she said.

"Oath Bound?" Asks Alucard, he can roughly guess what it means but wants the clarification.

She gives him a funny look "This was explained to you in your lessons" she said.

Alucard just sighs, "Yeah but before I regained my past life's memories, I paid very little attention to those lessons, most were spent daydreaming. I will need to get practising occlumency and review all my memories to find out how much I have missed" he said slightly resigned. It wasn't that big of a deal since he would be doing that anyway but it is a little troublesome to make plans without being sure of what he already knows, he would not want to miss important details.

Vittoria looks slightly amused at his resignation, "ok I will send you the books on occlumency for you to go over first before we start making plans. Now to explain what oath-bound means, there are several levels and types of oaths and bonds, I won't go into much detail and allow you to read up on them yourself, the main oaths are vassalage oaths for when an entire family comes under your care and follows you, these are passed down in the family. Then there is the follower oath which is an individual that decides to follow you. The oath creates a bond and are fairly restrictive and cannot be broken, you must be released from them." She takes a breath before continuing.

"Then there are Bonds, Oath bonds that I just explained, then there are slave bonds, which mostly come about because of debts or life-debts, though less scrupulous people use trickery to trap people in slavery. The Maids here are all your bound slaves, the holder of a slave bond has almost full control over their slaves, they can be bought or sold, unlike followers and if given an order they are compelled by their magic to comply. While vassals and followers have more freedom in that they are not forced to follow orders, but they can't betray you either and will get weaker the longer they go ignoring the orders you were given. There's a lot of subtlety that you will need to look into as explaining it now would take too much time." She finished explaining. Alucard kind of gets it, but he would investigate it more in the future to get the full explanation.

"Ok please have the books about bonds and oaths sent to be as well, in fact, while we are talking about books, can you arrange for me to receive the books for all subjects for all years from all the schools, Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Castelobruxo, Durmstrang Institute, Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Mahoutokoro School of Magic, Koldovstoretz, and Uagadou School of Magic, also get me books on mundane subjects too up to college-level" Alucard requests.

"Why would you need all those books?" Vittoria asks, shocked that he wants the books from all schools, "Can you even speak all those languages?" she finishes truly not knowing how intelligent he was before, to be able to speak so many languages.

"Oh, no I can't, so get me some books on learning the languages too" Alucard answers making Vittoria speechless. Though it's not that difficult of a task, she has contacts from all the schools so she can get the book lists and have some of the maids go to retrieve them.

"Well, is that everything? You have given me plenty to think about for the moment" Vittoria said, clearly hoping that's all the shocks for today.

Just when he was about to say that was everything, Alucard had a sudden idea, he looked over at Vittoria, she gave a strained smile "yes?" she asked nervously.

"Do we have any trustworthy manpower available?" he asks her, receiving a slow nod in return he continues "Then, at this time there is a very wealthy muggle drug dealer currently in Columbia that is known to stash vast amounts of cash. Have some people that are not able to betray us, go find him, have someone use Legilimency on him to find out where he has stashed all his money. Then Obliviate him of giving up the answers." Alucard hopes this will give him plenty of funds to work with in the future, not that his family is not wealthy. But more is better.

"You know that's a breach of the statute of secrecy, right? Is it worth the risk for some muggle money?" Vittoria asks, she doesn't seem convinced it would be worth it.

"Well, we should be able to get at least a couple hundred million US dollars if all goes well" Alucard answers her, making her eyes bulge at the number.

"Ok ill have some of your oath-bound guards this, what's this drug dealers name?" Vittoria asks, convinced that it's worth the risk for that much money, it's not like magical haven't been robbing muggles of their wealth for years, plus if he is a criminal there won't be that much risk of the ministries picking it up as something magical.

"His name is Pablo Escobar, it might be worth putting a compulsion on him to hide his future money somewhere that we can easily collect, he only has a few more years until he is arrested anyway" Alucard finishes. Vittoria nods, making a note of his name.

"Ok well I will get all this done and we can talk more once you have caught up with your occlumency in a few weeks. It's getting late so how about we go grab some Supper then call it a night?" Vittoria asked. Alucard agreed that seemed like a good idea not having realised the time and headed off to the dining room with her.
