Since I have written something, I should post something here...

I'm a young(ish) man who has never written anything creative before this. I have no idea how to write dialog... but since I have read almost 2000 different works on this site according to my spreadsheet (yes I do keep my reading on a well organized sheet, guess my profession!), I felt I could give writing a go...

What could possibly go wrong?

So I've completed one short story and a few one shots, I'd say I am a lot more comfortable with dialog than I was when I started, though it still seems to be a bit stiff. My main conclusion from this is that writing is well worth doing and I encourage everyone to give it a go, if someone like me, who never wrote anything aside from technical reports and school work can write, so can you. I just want to remind everyone to use a word processor (I use google docs, its free) and reread what you write before you post it, and I mean really read it, I find countless mistakes in both grammar and story structure when I reread, it's not as good as a second person, but it's better than leaving a mess.

On that note, I write what I'm interested in, so if you like what you read and want to take an idea or concept, please do, just tell me so I can read it. I'm sure you'll do a great job, that goes double for my one-shots, since I create characters and plots I don't have the energy or imagination to continue, give it a go and see what you think of. I read every review, even if I usually don't respond to any of them, so keep it up, it’s surprisingly good for my ego.

I'll be honest, 2020 was a strange year, while I won't go in-depth about the outside world, we all know about that, I will mention that as someone who started writing this year, partially out of boredom due to the global situation, I feel that I have been blessed by the many individuals who have read my works, and as they helped me through the year I hope they at least made some of you smile. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon though, I have more things to write than I have energy to write them.

My real joy has been how well received my Starcraft crossover has been, I've been thinking about it since well before I started writing, and I never expected such a niche genre to explode as it has. On the other hand some of my other works have been left behind, and I do still have ideas for ACRQ and will post them again soon, once I get over this Harry Potter buzz I've been writing though. My Team Fortress fic on the other hand may take some time, I really don't have any vision for where it's going to go, but I promise to update it more than Valve updates its game. As for my Konosuba crossover, that was always just an idea for a one-shot, it may grow, but I'm honestly not that familiar with the series.

But that's enough waffling on for this update, for now, keep reading and more importantly, keep writing.

Just a quick update here, As those of your reading my fics have noticed my publishing rate and consistency has declined. Unfortunately my energy has been low, after over a year of the world being as it is, even my spirit has declined. I hope to get back on my feet in the future but how I don't know, I just hope that real life won't get in the way of the writing I do here.

On a happier note, I have a AO3 profile under the same name, mostly because I'm not creative and have been using the same name online for over a decade now. Don't worry, this site is so far easier to use so I won't be making a move, but if this site dies, that will be where my hobby continues.
