A/N: Hey guys, It's been like a year since I posted anything on my profile. I'll keep the author's note short and sweet at the beginning.

This is just me shooting my shot. If it misses, oh well no biggie. But it's a hit, then looks like a jackpot to me.

Anyways enjoy the read, then I will explain things at the end.

Prologue: Simpler times…

You've heard of it, haven't you? The legend of Sparda?

Long ago, in ancient times, a demon rebelled against his kind for the sake of the human race. With his sword, he shut the portal to the demonic realm and sealed the evil entity off from our human world.

But since he was a demon himself, his power was also trapped on the other side. Many never believed it. They thought it was just a child's fairy tale or some plot of a light novel that was abandoned.

However, the five sisters soon discovered that the so-called legend wasn't a myth at all. Sparda existed, and they learned that through his sons…

Though the same blood of their father flowed through their veins, the two battled each other fiercely like arch enemies. It seems as if they drive some twisted pleasure from their brotherly fighting.

But in the end... only one was left standing.

And the other… stabbed through the chest with his sword, in front of the five sisters who he promised to protect…

Kyoto, Japan. The location is most notably known for its majestic and delicate scenery, retaining the ancient atmosphere but yet blending it perfectly with modernized standards. Many tourists, both national and foreign, go to Kyoto due to its historical importance, since the old capital is considered to be the most symbolized representation of Japanese culture.

Because of the historical and cultural importance, it has become a custom for students to visit the city at least once in their school lives. Some of those students appreciate the atmospheric tone and its history, and some simply just use the school trip to have fun.

Both types of students are best personified through two young boys who had broken off from their groups and teachers, although one was trying to negotiate the other to stay with the group but failed to convince him. Reluctant to separate, the one who was trying to avoid trouble simply sighed and went with the other who felt more adventurous.

They were a pair of identical twins. Brothers who were conceived and share the same date of birth. Their clothing indicated that these boys were some rich foreigners from Europe separated from their parents, however, that was only partially true. They were half Japanese, courtesy of their mother, and their father was from Europe, but never specified which country. But one thing was for certain: if Kyoto had a human form, their father would best fit that description, which was ironic due to him not being from Japan. The clothing that they wore represents one of the luxurious schools intended for Japan's upper class.

Their physical appearance was the same. Their skin was fair but very pale, and they had white hair. The only difference was that the older brother had his swept back, which gives him the ironic look of a delinquent, and the younger having his hair brushed down with his bangs partially covering his amber eyes. At first glance, one would confuse the personalities of the two twins due to their hairstyle. But the oldest was the most studious and formal, and the youngest the most deviant and energetic.

"Nee, Nii-san~ This whole school trip is booooooooring~" the youngest complained, pulling on the sleeve of his older twin to get his attention.

"Kintarou… don't put all of your force onto my sleeve like that." the older brother said, not even choosing to turn around to properly face his younger twin.

"Oh come on! Are you still mad that we left those losers behind?!" Kintarou pouted and reluctantly let go of his older brother's sleeve, but still followed him nonetheless. "They were holding us back! We can go to the more interesting places now, with no boring tour guides! Sounds like a jackpot to me!"

"Jackpot? More like a bust. I can't wait for Kaa-sama's lecture once we are done loitering around Kyoto."

"Bleh, spare me your cynicism and sarcasm. You always seem energetic whenever you have a book in your hand, but not when I wanna do something interesting for the both of us!"

"That's because I don't have your violent tendencies, dearest otouto. We might be identical twins, but I am the oldest, thus I must set an example whenever Kaa-sama and Tou-sama are not around." the oldest stated, causing the pout on Kintarou's face to worsen.

"That's a load of bullshit and you know it, Fuutarou-nii!"

"Please watch your language…" Fuutarou sweatdropped as he stopped walking, turned around, and faced his little brother, patting his head and giving him a worrying expression. "You're going to draw more attention to us, and I would rather not deal more than what's necessary…"

"Heh!" Kintarou smiled mischievously, lifting his hand and putting it mere inches away from Fuutarou's face, with the hand swiftly transforming into an almost balled fist, with the expectation of the middle finger. "Well too bad, I'm bored."

Fuutarou simply glared at Kintarou annoyingly but did nothing else. If he took the bait, Kintarou would have started causing shenanigans, and the last time something like that happened, it became so catastrophic that their father had to pay for property damage. Then again, Fuutarou had this side of him as well, but it has been put behind the bars of discipline he managed to gain over time.

Seeing that his taunting tactic did not work, Kintarou simply shrugged his shoulder and withdrew his hand away from his older twin brother. Fuutarou did the same.

"I see that you are getting better at resisting my tender love, dearest Nii-san."

"Wish you do something that fits that definition instead of provoking me into fighting you, on a school trip nonetheless."

"Hehe~ You know that's my way of showing you my love and admiration."

"Seriously, only I can deal with you Kintarou." a melancholy sigh escaped Fuutarou's lips. "But I guess that's because we are family."

"Duh~ We're twins! We're stuck with each other till the end!" Kintarou patted his older brother's back, much to the latter's discomfort due to his younger twin patting him too hard. "Despite me being a loudmouth asshole, and you being a nerd, we bond pretty well."

"It's just like basic physics: Opposites attract. In our case Kintarou, that means smart attracts stupid." Fuutarou verbally jabbed at Kintarou, but the younger twin remained unphased.

"That also means bad boys attract good girls~" Kintarou's cheeks became red as he pulled out a camera, his face adopting an expression that was not fitting for a child of his age. "I wanna take some pictures of some cute babes~"

"Kintarou don't…" thus another melancholy sigh once again passed through Fuutarou's mouth. "Troublesome little brother."

"How did I get into this situation?"

Despite wanting to avoid any more trouble, it seemed that lady luck had once again turned against Fuutarou, and it always had to do with the opposite gender. After walking through various temples and tourist locations, Kintarou decided to ditch his older twin in pursuit of his lavish desire of taking pictures of various, unsuspecting women.

A chain of events occurred, and Fuutarou was now being questioned by the local security guard accompanied by a black-hair girl in tears.

"Do you have an explanation, brat?" the officer asked in a stern voice, more annoyed that his day was ruined than a young suspect taking pictures of girls nonconsensually. All was well and lazy for the security guard until a certain white-haired kid decided to do something stupid, which was probably going to result in him having to write a report.

"What was that about sticking together, Kintarou?" Fuutraou cursed his little twin brother in his thoughts, silently seething but managing to hide it in a facade of a straight face. "This is premeditated backstabbing!"

"Silence huh? Don't worry, you'll soon talk when we head to the police station-"

"Officer-san! Please let him go, he didn't do anything!"

It was at that moment Fuutarou snapped out of his inner thoughts and chose to turn around so he could see who the owner of the voice was.

It was a girl around his height, with beautiful red hair and ocean-colored eyes. She wore a simple white dress, and its simplicity was what made her look even more elegant. Fuutarou could not help but be curious about the developing situation. Why she went out of her way to defend him, a stranger nonetheless, was baffling to him. Perhaps she wanted a reward, and Fuutarou was more than willing to give her one if she can prove his innocence.

"What do you mean?" the security guard adopted a confused look and turned to the black-haired girl. "This is the kid you said that took photos of you without your permission?"

"Y-Yes! I think…"

"You think?" the security guard sighed agitatedly as the situation became even more complex. He hated it when the one who filed complaints cannot give accurate information, and he called himself a fool for even getting involved in the situation. The story would have been different if the suspect was an old man, but it was just a foolish boy who was just scheming things just to have fun. "Boys will be boys." he thought as he looked at the red-haired girl.

"You saying you're this kid's alibi then misses?"

"Y-Yes officer." the red-haired girl nodded, and Fuutraou took it as an opportunity to shed light on the situation.

"The person you're looking for is my twin brother. He has his hair brushed down, while I have mine kept back. This is how people can tell us apart." Fuutarou explained, instinctively lifting his hand to quickly sweep his hair back. "Plus I would have a camera out if I were him."

The black-haired girl widened her eyes in realization and turned to the officer. "Yes! He's right! He had his white hair down!

"Maybe he swept back his hair and ditched the camera." the guard retorted, still holding some doubts about Fuutarou's explanation.

"But ditching a high quality, and expensive camera like that would surely be a waste, wouldn't you agree sir?" the red-haired child added, and her rebuttal was effective as the security guard took a few seconds to process the logic.

"I… you are right. But I can't just leave this alone you know." the officer sighed regrettably. "Should have taken the day off."

"Here, this is my father's business card." Fuutarou went deep into his blazer's pockets and pulled out a small piece of paper that contained his father's number. He then handed it over to the officer, who had his head tilted in confusion. "My brother's name is Kintarou. You should explain the situation to him, and he'll properly punish my brother for his nefarious transgression."

"A-Alright." The officer had one eyebrow up as he noticed the tone of Fuutarou becoming darker and his vocabulary becoming more formal toward the end. "Don't think too much about it, the kid just made your job a little easier."

Fuutarou sighed in relief, closing his eyes for a few seconds, then turning to the black hair girl, bowing his head. "Forgive my twin little brother. I hope this issue gets resolved."

"I-It's okay, I'm also sorry for almost mistaking you. It would have made me feel bad if I had an innocent person get in trouble."

"It's fine."

"I'm glad that I don't have to jump too many loops here. I'll give your father a call kiddo, so don't worry. You should probably get back to your group as well, the both of you." the officer stated, adopting his stern voice once again and directing it to the red-haired girl and Fuutarou.

After the whole ordeal with the security guard, Fuutarou decided to keep his new red-haired companion company as they find their way back to their respective groups. Revealing her name to be Rena, Fuutarou sincerely thanked her for her assistance and apologized for having her involve herself when she had no obligation to do so.

"Fuutarou-kun, you have a twin brother?" Rena asked, her cerulean-like eyes sparked with anticipation and her gentle hands grasping his.

"Yes, a very troublesome one at that." the oldest sighed.

"Wow! That's amazing!" Rena happily exclaimed, smiling profusely as she moved a little bit closer to the white-haired boy as they walked "Who would have known that I'll meet someone who's almost like me!"

"Like you? You have a twin sibling?"

"Um…! M-Maybe, who knows? Hahahaha…" Rena laughed nervously, letting go of Fuutarou's hand and sidestepping a bit to put a bit of distance between them.

"Lying is not your strong suit, huh? The fact that you stepped away from me when I asked pretty much shows that you are withholding something." he pointed it out, causing Rena to twiddle her fingers a bit in a fidgeting matter. His assessment was accurate, she was never really good at lying or keeping secrets. But she most definitely does not want the white-haired boy to know about her sisters just yet.

Maybe getting lost was a blessing in disguise for her.

"Do not worry, I won't pry into it any further." His reassurance was like taking off a heavy backpack for her, Rena felt completely weightless and unbounded.

"Hehehehe… sorry Fuutrarou-kun." she apologized sheepishly but managed to regain the same enthusiasm she had at the beginning almost instantaneously. She grabbed his hand and took the lead, causing Fuutraou to raise an eyebrow in question.

"We just met, and yet you're being very friendly with me," he said.

"That's because we're friends now!"

"Are we?"

The moment Fuutarou asked, Rena turned around to face him, and her cheeks began to inflate with air, forming a pout to express her disappointment. "Mou! We are friends!"

"Okay…" For some strange reason, the way the red-haired girl was acting towards him, even though they just met, was very reminiscent of his mother. "...friends it is." Throughout the entire trip up till that point, Fuutarou had never smiled like he did at that moment. Even the smile he gave to Kintraou was nothing compared to the one he was giving to Rena. Its genuineness was like the warmth of the shining sun, it was completely useless for the young girl to resist such a captivating smile.

Her heart began to beat faster. For the short time that she knew him, his expression was that of a stoic, very mysterious, and very formal. But the smile… made her cheeks red, and as much as she wanted to look away due to being very flustered, she continued to stare with her blue, ocean-like eyes.

She smiled, and it stretched from one corner of her face to another.

Fuutarou was indeed an interesting boy.

"Let's go buy some charms, Fuutarou-kun!"

"Sure, Rena. You seem to know the way more than I do anyway."

-Line Break-

Hours had passed since Rena's interference with the security guard. The day was breaking and the light was looming around the corner; the two children still had not found their respective groups, but it was due to them being occupied with immersing themselves in what Kyoto had to offer. It was odd that no one had found them after being missing for such a long time, but Fuutarou made sure he had extra money for the payphone to call his father to pick them up.

Rena insisted on visiting one more temple, and Fuutarou humbly obliged her request, in exchange for making her promise that this would be the last site they visit before having to call. Rena's eyes became less lively as she reluctantly gave her word.

"Your family is probably worried sick for you, Rena. The fact that we spent this much time together without being found is nothing but a miracle in itself." Fuutraou stated.

"But I wanna be with you more, Fuutraou-kun…"

Fuutraou didn't respond to that. He instead walked up to the shrine and dropped some money into the donation box.

"Come here Rena, make your wish," he said, and the red-haired child simply gawked at him for a few seconds.

"M-Make a wish?"

"That's what you do when you give money, right? You grab the rope and shake the bell, then make a wish?"

"B-But it's your money!"

"You wasted all of yours buying those charms… you must value family." Fuutarou sadly smiled. "I wish I can kinda be like that with Kintarou… but I have a goal in mind that I need to accomplish. Because I too value family. That's why I always surround myself with books and strive to get good grades."

"...What is your goal, Fuutarou-kun?"

"My goal is to simply be so rich that I'll have Kaa-sama and Kintarou live off of me like freeloaders!" Rena could not help herself but giggle at the white-haired boy's joke. "Well, we are already rich thanks to Tou-sama, but as the next heir of the family, it is my responsibility to lead my younger twin and my Kaa-sama to further prosperity!" he continued.

"...I wanna be just like you Fuutarou-kun." Rena revealed her admiration for him. "My family's poor, but it doesn't bother me that we are poor. It just hurts seeing my mom push herself like that… I sometimes think that if I weren't around, mom's life would be easier-" she tearfully confessed, but it was cut short.

Fuutraou immediately grabbed Rena's hand and looked at her with a stern look. His swept-back hair made his expression more defined.

"F-Fuutarou-kun?" she called out to his name worriedly, thinking she might have said something to upset the boy. She did not want the boy she grew to like so much to all of sudden hate her.

"Please, Rena. Don't ever say that. Also, despite the amount of trouble I will be getting into after our parents find us, I think it was worth it just because of you. So don't devalue yourself like that."

"Okay… Can it be any wish?" she bashfully asked, a blush appearing on her face. She stared into his amber eyes and found the burning passion in them. Her heart twinged so much that she fiercely grabbed his hand. She had held his hand numerous times, but it was different when she held it at that moment, it was much more passionate and loving.

"Yeah, any wish."

"Then let's work hard together! I'll study for my mom, and you for your mom and twin brother!"

"Okay… that's a promise! Is that your wish?"

"No~ That's just a promise between us! I will go say my wish now!"

Rena went up to the rope and shook it with some force, causing the bell to ring. She clasped her hands together and earnestly made her wish, with an angelic smile and the blush on her face deepening more.

A/N: So, a few changes are made following this story being a blend between DMC and QQ. For starters, Raiha does not exist in this story, and she is replaced by Kintarou, an OC that is Fuutarou's twin little brother. Can't call this a QQ & DMC crossover without a pair of brothers.

Fuutarou being the oldest, he's going to have some aspects of Vergil's personality, but I don't want him to adopt Vergil's whole persona since Fuutarou is not the antagonist.

I started the story off with Kyoto 6 years before QQ since I think that's a better introduction than just simply starting when Fuutarou is at High School. The next chapter is already being worked on, but I do not know when it will be released. I don't have a fixed schedule, and there is the probability that my Writer's block will take hold of me once again; it has been happening for the past 2 years now. In case the worst happens, I'll have solar put this in his story idea archive. But I will try my damndest to continue.

Anyways, I shot, and we'll see how it goes from here. Also, excuse the grammar mistakes, I used Grammarly to help me out, but I can never be too certain with that resource either. I have a hard time keeping the writing in the present and past tense, and that is one of my biggest weaknesses when it comes to writing. I'll probably get a trustworthy beta sometime down the road to help me.
