A How to Train Your Dragon 3 rewrite fic, dealing with some of the more troubling narratives the author thinks they could have gone down instead in the third movie. After a troublesome dream of draconic overcrowding, murderous warlords, and an exodus from Berk, Hiccup and Toothless find themselves and their peoples faced with just that—only it goes a little differently.

Hiccup had made up her mind. Dragon killing was not for her, no matter how much her father protested, she was done with it. She was done trying to fit in. With the dragon training nearly complete, Hiccup leaves Berk, knowing that he couldn't bring himself to kill the Monstrous Nightmare. After 10 years, rumours of a tribe of Dragon Riders reach Berk that was being devastated by the dragon raids. Seeing this as their only option of survival, a small group from Berk travels to find the mysterious tribe and their chief - Dragon Master.

A pair of Night Furies hatch under mysterious circumstances into a big, wild world, unknowingly embarking on a perilous and fateful path fraught with malicious and greedy humans. Changing the world was never going to be easy, but that's what it means to become a hero the hard way.

This is one of two dreams I had last night. This was the first dream I had last night. It seems partially inspired by Luca even though it had Hiccup and Toothless in it. Either way, I hope you enjoy my dream!

I'm a Light Fury...at least that's what I've been told I am. I don't remember much since waking up in that damn forest, not even my own name. All I can do now is try and survive...thankfully, I won't be doing all this surviving alone: I got another dragon with me. He told me his name is RuffRunner... Httyd reacts to the futuree

Hiccup finally gains the courage to ask Astrid out on a date and of course something just has to go wrong. When Hiccup and Astrid find themselves captured by Dragon Hunters, they're going to have to rely on each other to make it out alive. Maybe this little outing with Astrid was just a date with disaster all along. (RTTE.)

Hiccup gets hurt by the villagers of Berk and shoots down Toothless and says he wants them to coward in fear. Toothless transforms him into a Night Fury to get revenge against the villagers. When they can't stand his coldness towards them, Astrid is forced to confront her past to save Hiccup.

What if things went differently when Toothless came to save Hiccup during his final exam. What if Hiccup ran away with Toothless that day. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third was a runt for the inhabitants of Berk, but now he is free. And now he will become what he is destined to become.
