Musutafu, Aldera Junior High, The School Yard, the next day...
Toshinori sighed in relief when school was over. He looked for where Genos was, and possibly try to get him to hangout back in his apartment after his upcoming match with the so called 'pro-hero'...well, in his new temporal room, after nearly destroying his previous one.
The bills to repair his room wasn't too much, but he can't say the owner of the apartment is pleased with what he had just done.
Suddenly, Toshinori was bumped by both Masashi and Mezo, who smirked at him each menacingly, "Hey, hey, who said you can flee after a declaration of challenge?"
"Wasn't trying to run." Toshinori bluntly said, before looking at the two of them, "I can take on your dumbass dad anyday." he said with a bitter voice, "Now get the hell off me. I have a false hero to beat up."
"Why aren't you scared?! He's leagues above you. He can beat you in his sleep!" Masashi yelled. Toshinori smirked, "You can tell that to his broken hand when he hit me in the face yesterday."
Mezo let out a snarl, before a snake-like tongue emerged out of his mouth, "For insulting our dad, I'm gonna rough you up so bad, dad doesn't have to put much effort into beating you, quirkless freak!"
"Wasn't insulting. I was just stating the obvious. I can hear his bones cracking when his fist made an impact on my 'oh-so-weak' body. Now can you get off? I'm not in the mood for your bullshit." Toshinori said, lowering his tone.
Mezo growled, before throwing his fist into the direction of Toshinori's face, but it was stopped by Masashi, "You know, usually, you're the one who stops me from doing something stupid, but I guess I have to replace you temporarily to take the job."
"Smartass. Fine, fuck off you piece of shit. Let's go, bro." Mezo said while pulling his hand away, going with his brother.
"Man, I hope to never see them again when I get to UA." Toshinori said to himself, walking towards the exit gate. "Now, Genos-san, where the hell are you..?"
He then saw Genos, looking into a tree near the concrete gate. His face...well, he can't say his demeanor was at it's best right now. Toshinori approached him, before giving him a hard slap into his back, startling him.
He looked back, only to see Toshinori laughing, "T- Toshinori-kun! Damn it, you scared me!"
"What's up? You don't look so good, Genos-san." Toshinori asked. Genos shook his head, "I'm... I'm fine, Toshinori-kun!"
"Huh. It must be because of the training regime we're doing after my match with the old pro-hero guy, eh? You nervous? It's not that bad though, once you get used to it-" Toshinori asked with a grin. Genos shook his head again, "It's.. it's not that... I..."
"Genos-san.." Toshinori demeanor changed, his expression turned into that of concern, "What's wrong?"
"Well...um.." His face looked sadder than before, "I.. I'm scared...nervous..."
Toshinori's protective instinct turned on, as he instinctively got himself closer to Genos, putting his hands on both of his shoulders, "Who hurt you? Tell me, Genos-san, I'll-"
"It's not that either!" Genos yelled, "Ugh, I'm sorry, I.. I have too much on my mind right now it's just.. you've done so much for me, Toshinori-kun, you defended me from those two meanies, stood up for me when the teachers are mocking me, got yourself almost sent into an hospital back when we first met just for me, ME! A useless, pathetic-"
"Genos-san, I think we talked about this thing already yesterday." Toshinori said with a disappointed face.
Genos sighed, "Sorry, it's just.. I'm scared, for you, Toshinori-kun.. I know you're strong, you're admirable, you're skilled, but...this is a pro-hero we're talking about. He could turn the law against you, label you as a villain, humiliate you in the public, he's..leagues above you.. I just.. don't want to see...you...go through that...ALL BECAUSE OF ME...for my sake! It's... it's not right for me to just stand there as I watch you go through that! I have to stop you, I have to!"
Toshinori pulled him into a hug, catching the younger boy off his guard. "Listen here, Genos-san.." He said under the embrace, "Even if I do get humiliated, I'd do it over and over again just for a friend. I can't stand there and let you get bullied like that. This is my chance, Genos-san, my last chance. If I miss it, I may never get it again. I can't force Mezo and Masashi into submission to stop bullying you. You know the law. I can't use...'quirks' without a license."
Genos cried, "But...I don't want you to go through all that for me! Please, listen to me, you deserve better than this! You.. you're such a kind person, a true hero, you have an admirable quality, but those quality...can get you killed if you let it get the best of you..please..." Toshinori removed himself, before replying, "I won't stop as long as those two still bothers you."
He then spoke, "I'll be fine, I promise. Go and tell Yui to be prepared. I'll be back soon, promise, and when I do, everything will be fine." Toshinori then did a peace sign on his hand, while grinning widely.
He walked away, "Take care, Genos-san. I'll be seeing you soon."
Genos waited until Toshinori was out of sight. As the school was empty, devoid of any students, he collapsed on his knees, tears streaming down orange eyes.
He screamed in frustration, frustration of saving his only friend, who has been so kind to him, from entering his doom. He punched the ground, "I'm still a failure, after all.." He said in a weak voice. He couldn't save his parents, and he couldn't save Toshinori either.
After all, what kind of friend lets the other to do some reckless things that could possibly kill them?
In front of Vigorous's agency building....
Ridiculous! Cramped! So many people! Toshinori struggled to breathe as many people was there squizzing against his body.
Don't they know that I'm the challenger? Jeez!
Toshinori finally got into the front, where there were less people and...one more asshole. Vigorous.
"And so! This, this is the villain that dared to challenge me in an open match! He threatened both my kids, and now, I have to face him and bring him to justice!" Vigorous announced to his fans and sidekicks alike.
Toshinori growled in disgust. Look at him, trying to label me as a villain, so he can take credit for his 'good' deeds. Heroes? More like frauds!
"Oi, old man, just come at me and get over it. Your breath stinks, I don't want to hear anymore of your 'heroic' speeches." Toshinori said in a bored manner.
The crowds had their suspicion though.
"Are you sure he's a villain?"
"Looks like an average middle-schooler for me."
"Maybe he has a dangerous quirk?"
"Either way, this is gonna be a hell of a show! I haven't seen the pro-hero in action in such a long time!"
Toshinori looked at the crowds, eyeing them long enough much to Vigorous's suspicion. They're having so much faith though..as if their lives depended on this guy...
"Hah! Your insults won't make me react at all, villain! After all, I won't bring my guard down against someone that threatened both of my kids! That is!" Vigorous continued to yell whilst pointing in Toshinori's direction, "UNFORGIVABLE!"
Toshinori ignored him though, looking at the crowds, as if he was thinking about something. Something.
He's going to beat up a pro-hero, in front of the public, as a villain nonetheless. Well...
Heroes are supposed to keep the peace, to assure the people that villains are under their control. If I beat this guy up in front of his supporters, in one punch...and he's the number six hero... it'll cause..panic?
"You have nothing to say, villain?! Of course! You're too scared to even say anything!" Vigorous laughed, "But don't worry, I will be gentle with you."
Am I not supposed to beat this guy up? Ah, nonsense, he's the cause of Genos's suffering! But...ugh, if I beat him up, people will panic and call me a villain, multiple pro-heroes will come my way, which, of course, can be beaten easily...but what's to come after that? If I, a villain, beat all of the heroes effortlessly, people will lose their faith in the heroes, it'll cause panic and chaos. If I run away from the heroes, that'll be bad...aside not having the chance to be a hero, Genos, mom, they'll be in danger..
He was having a headache. This dilemma is killing him. This hero has a chance. He has a great quirk, capable enough to supress crime and bring order. But goddamn, his attitude reeks of dog shit. His conviction is stupid. Getting rid of the quirkless? What a fucking joke. He heard all the conversation between him and Kuseno, and damn, the guy has issues.
But he did a research yestersay. The guy did a good job as a hero despite the shitty things he thought of. His hatred for quirkless people is just...wow.
His train of thoughts was interrupted when a fist came into his way. Toshinori reacted quickly to dodge the attack effortlessly.
Vigorous panted, laughling lightly, "Ooooh, you're good! But let's see if you can keep dodging, villain!" he began throwing barrages of attacks, which, all of it was dodged by Toshinori effortlessly.
Vigorous growled, ending his chain of attacks with an elbow strike. Toshinori blocked it with only a finger, before speaking, "Look, I think we need to talk this out."
"Huuuh?!" Vigorous smirked, "Are you begging me to stop? Afraid your dignity will be crushed?"
Toshinori snorts, "Don't be ridiculous, I can end this fight with one punch. We need to talk, for a bit." Vigorous raised his brow, before standing straight, crossing his arms, "Make it quick."
"You still have a chance. You may not act like a hero, well, you act like an asshole actually, but you do a great job with lowering crime rates, a bit." Toshinori almost puked at complimenting the guy, but he continued regardless, "So why don't you drop the 'I hate the quirkless' attitude and change your ways? That way, we're cool, I won't bother you anymore."
"I didn't come here for a negotiation, I came here to beat you up and humiliate you." He darkly responded, "Your insolence yesterday will not be forgotten." he began lashing out again, throwing his fist against Toshinori.
However, his fist was caught by Toshinori with only his palm, "You're so fucking stubborn. Don't you know that quirkless people are still humans too? I just want you to tell both of your brats to stop bothering Genos."
"Why should I?" He smirked, before throwing another punch, which was blocked by Toshinori's other palm, "Because you're a hero, heroes are supposed to make people safe instead of intimidating them. You're doing it wrong-"
"Hahah! You! A quirkless runt, telling me how to act as a hero? Don't be ridiculous, brat, I've been doing this for years, you don't have a say in this." Vigorous countered, before throwing another punch once again.
Toshinori blocked it again, sighing, "You're hard-headed, for fuck's sakes!" He yelled in frustration. I'm an idiot! Of course telling him to stop bothering Genos in one day wouldn't work.
He used his hand to spin Vigorous around, causing him to fall on his ass as he landed on the ground, "Persistent, aren't you?" Toshinori sighed.
Vigorous stood his ground after falling on his ass, "Grah!" he grunted, growling at the blond-haired Teen
Toshinori eyed him, "This is pointless. I can end this in a single blow, I just wanted to give you a chance.
"You?! A villain?! Giving me a chance?! Ha, don't make me laugh! I will stop your evil deeds here and now!" Vigorous yelled back, obviously so the crowds can hear him.. Toshinori snickered, "As far as I'm concerned, you act more villainous than I do." He smirked.
"Be quiet, villain!" Vigorous launched himself to hit Toshinori again, who braced for the impact. But suddenly, he was interrupted by a feminine voice coming from the crowds, "He's not a villain. Stop pulling a publicity stunt, Vigorous."
Vigorous turned around to see a woman with messy hair, a black dot on her face shown. She appears to be wearing some kind of black clothes, leaving her arms exposed, her pants sharing the same color as the upper body, white capes attached to her back, as well as two yellow gauntlet in both of her hands, and two white boots on her feet.
Toshinori looked to the newcomer in confusion, as he asked, "A pro-hero?"
The woman turned to him with a smile, "Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Nana. Shimura Nana, pleased to make your acquaintance." Nana finished, putting both of her hands in her hips, a smile spread on her face.
Well, what a cruel cliffhanger xD! Yeah, they finally meet, now stay tuned for the next chapter! Sorry for the short ass chapter by the way, I hope you can forgive me on that one! Next will probably be longer! See ya next chapter!
(Okay, you may notice the rewrite of some dialogues, but like, Toshinori giving up seems like out of character so yeah.)
