I don't own One Punch Man, nor do I own My Hero Academia. Each Franchise is owned by their respective owners. Enjoy!
(I know Enji Todoroki is supposed to be a few years younger than Toshinori, and therefore, shouldn't go to UA the same time as him, but in this story, he'll be at the same age as Toshinori, and he would spend his time in UA the same time as him. Enjoy! Oh, and more OPM characters will be introduced here!)
One week later...UA..
Toshinori was ready for whatever the practicals and the written exams had in store for him. This is his chance to prove that quirkless people aren't weak, to use his oddly gained powers to inspire hopeless people as well, of course. As he walked to the gates of the prestigous school, he can't help but awe at the sight.
He wished Genos could be with him, but, sucks that the guy is one year younger than him. Welp! He can use that time to train himself beyond his limitation, as the school motto says: GO BEYOND, PLUS ULTRA!
Yui, on the other hand, wasn't interested in the heroics. She chose a normal high-school as her next path. Oddly though, she still wants to train, for whatever reason on her mind that she didn't want to explain for some reason.
He then looked forward to see his bullies, Masashi and Mezo, chatting with each other. Oooookay, not gonna approach them and cause a scene in this prestigious school.
Toshinori suddenly bumped into a short, green-haired girl. She looked at him, giving him a scowl, "Oi, blue-eyes, watch where the hell you're going!"
He looked at her, before giving her an apologetic look, "Gomen! I was in a deep thought and didn't realise that you were there." He stood straighter than before
The girl scowled even more, before putting both of her hands in her hips, looking away, "Hmph! Whatever. As long as I get to outclass every single one of these weaklings in here..."
Eh? A girl with attitude as it seems.
The girl then asked, "I'm off then, blue-eyes. Looking forward crushing you in the ranks!" She raised her tone in her last sentence.
...What's with that lost, sassy child?
"Sorry about her." A voice called out from behind suddenly. He looked back, only to see a...pompadour-haired boy, holding some kind of metal bat in his back. He gave Toshinori an apologetic smile, "She's known to be a major, arrogant jerk in our school."
Toshinori scratched his back, replying, "Well.. it's no problem really. I had a share of arrogant jerks in my life, handled them there and there, no problem."
"Eh, she's not that arrogant. Once you get to know her well, that is." Metal Bat dude replied, "Aaaanyways, gotta go. I have a sister to impress!" He ended with an enthusiastic look, "Bye, good luck!" he ran towards the school.
Toshinori then called out, "Wait!" Metal Bat stopped in his tracks, slightly looking back, "What's up?"
"What's your name, by the way? I gotta know the names of my potential new classmates." Toshinori asked. Metal Bat then turned to him, before replying, "Hitoshi Bad, but honestly? Just call me Bad, don't like the last name that much. What's yours? Since you asked me first."
Toshinori then replied, "Yagi Toshinori, pleased to make your acquaintance, Bad-san!"
"Drop the formality, just call me Bad, and nice to meet you too, Yagi. Anyways, gotta go, and you should probably watch out for the kid with the loud heartbeat. It's intimidating really." Bad said, winking at him, before rushing off.
Loud heartbeat-?
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
Toshinori looked back to see a blond, long-haired teen, three scars can be seen over his eyes. He stood straighter than a pole, keeping an intimidating expression on his face.
"Oh god, it's King!"
Toshinori heard a kid whisper besides him. More came,
"We should stay away from him. That's... that's the infamous 'King Engine'! Rumours from Mustafa Private High School, once that noise is heard..."
Another voice cut in, "People will get their ass handed to them! We should go!"
"Yeah, no kidding, I'm not going near the guy! Plus he's fucking intimidating!"
Toshinori raised his brow, eyeing this 'King' person very carefully. Was he a bully? Did he pick on the kids in his school? Why are they so intimidated by him? Well, yeah, the guy looks intimidating but why? You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, right?
If he is a bully, Toshinori should approach him and give him a piece of his mind. Well, at least try to, and hope that he's not like Masashi or Mezo. God, I really hope he's not like either of those assholes.
Shit, even Shimura fucking Nana can't change them. They're hopeless, and it's best if Toshinori stay away from them for the time being.
As he went into a deep thought, a person bumped into him, "Move. You're in the way." He rudely said in a deep voice. The guy was stoic, much like that 'King' person. He had a slightly spiked red hair, wearing a high-school uniform, "If you're here for pleasantries and observing, then go home." The rude teen said again, before walking away.
Toshinori sighed, before walking to the entrance. Why was he standing here for a long time again?
After the written exams..
Okay, that was hard. Even though Toshinori studied, the exam were still hard. Doesn't matter though, as what's important with the entrance exam was the practical ones.
He sat near the Bad guy he met earlier, though he seemed to pay attention to the announcer who were explaining the rules of the practical exam, not realising Toshinori was there.
Eh, not that that matters anyway. Toshinori kept himself focused on the rules. Simple. There are four robots, each had different points, one had 1, the other had 2, the third one is 3, and the last one was...zero? Isn't that kind of pointless?
The explainer explained that the fourth bot was meant to be an obstacle, and not to be engaged. Ah, so kind of like those obstacles in the super mario bros games. Got it.
"It's you again, blue-eyes." A feminine voice called out. Toshinori looked to his left side, only to see the 'sassy lost child' again.
"H...Hello there." Toshinori reluctantly replied, before trying to start a conversation for some reason, "If you don't mind me asking..err...how did U.A let someone as young as you join in? I mean..usually, people at the age of-"
The girl was visibly irritated. She scowled, "I'm as old as you are, baka!" She yelled, "Don't make fun of my height!"
"But I wasn't-" Toshinori was cut off when Bad looked to them, "Cut it off, you two! This isn't the time for-" he stopped when he noticed who they both are, "Ah...Yagi, and Tatsumaki-chan."
Her name is Tatsumaki. Got it. Toshinori noted mentally.
"Hmph! It's the annoying pompadour-head! And I told you not to add 'chan' when mentioning my name, didn't I? And what's with that first-name basis, huh?!" Tatsumaki yelled, making the students near them visibly sweat-dropping.
Oh. First-name basis. Nevermind, not gonna call her that. Toshinori noted twice.
"Okay, Senritsu-san..but seriously though, cut it off." Bad added with an annoyed tone. "Whatever! The blond-haired weakling isn't worth my time anyway!" Tatsumaki remarked, before focusing her gaze on the front.
Oooookay, but something is fishy here. Can tell that the shorty is putting up an act...eh, not important. Toshinori stopped from noting what happened around him immediately.
"OKAY THEN! PREPARE TO GO TO YOUR DESIGNATED BATTLE CENTER! GOOD LUCK! REMEMBER TO GO BEYOND, PLUS ULTRA!" The announcer announced. Toshinori looked to his card, "Battle Center A, got it."
BATTLE CENTER A..
A whole city built just for an exam. There's a reason why this school is the best hero school in the country, after all. He smirked, feeling adrenaline going through him, an excitement, to show people that quirks aren't all there is to being a hero.
Genos would be thrived to see him reach the number one spot. It would certainly motivate him to train even more.
"Hey, Yagi." A voice called out from behind, causing Toshinori to look to the source. Bad looked at him with a smile, "Good luck, eh?"
"Yep! You too!" Toshinori replied enthusiastically. But before he can converse even further, the familiar 'THUMP, THUMP, THUMP' noises was heard. As this happened, many students were visibly panicking, taking a distance away from the source of the sound as far away as possible.
Great.
He looked to see King, standing there, his expression of intimidation never leaving him. "Hey, if you don't mind me asking..." Toshinori spoke, causing Bad to look at him raising his brow, "What's with that guy? Everyone seems to be afraid of him for some reason..it has to do with that 'thump thump thump' noises, right?"
Bad replied, "He's a kid from my school. People nicknamed him 'King', as he was rumoured to be the strongest kid in the school, making him to be a central of all attention..Not in a good way. Everyone is intimidated by him, but like, on the inside he's a wimpy, nervous kid." He chuckled at his last words, "He just has a quirk named 'engine'. Whenever he's scared, nervous, anxious, all that, his body would react, and his heartbeat is louder than that of an average person, and at the same time, it increases his strength."
Toshinori widened his eyes at this revelation, as he went to berate himself internally for thinking that this 'King' were a bully, "Ah, I see... what's his real name, then?"
"Tsuyoi Oji, that's his real name, though he admits to me this one time that it's embarrassing for him to have a name like that." Bad replied, before continuing, "Actually, I think I should go to him, you know, to give him a confidence boost. Guy needs it. I'll see ya later, Yagi." He finished before walking away with a wave.
Tsuyoi-san...Well, I guess I can meet him and see what he's like for myself after the exams.
Suddenly, the announcer's voice rang through them loudly, "OKAY, EXAMINEES! TIME TO GET UP AND SHINE AS A HERO-IN-TRAINING!"
Alright, no more distractions. As the students readied themselves, the announcer's voices rang again, "IN THREE, TWO, ONE, GO!"
Toshinori sped himself up, outracing the other students on entering the battlefield. He scanned the buildings, only to see a one pointer in front of him, as it said, "Target acquired. Elimination in progress."
Toshinori threw a hit, shattering the bot in pieces with a single blow. He sped up, scanning the area around him. He found three 3-pointers, pointing their weaponries in the direction of Toshinori.
Toshinori let out a barrage of punches, "Consecutive Normal Punches." he said the name of his move, as the three of them went limp and shattered in an instant. "Alright, ten points, that's a good start."
Multiple bots came to his way. Toshinori prepared himself, before speeding up, hitting all of them in an instant, causing them to blow up as Toshinori landed behind them.
"20 points." Toshinori muttered under his breath. He scanned the area around him again, before rushing to a lone 2-pointer in an alley. But before he can land a hit, a metal bat shattered them in an instant.
The holder of the metal bat emerged out of the smoke, Hitoshi Bad. "Not gonna let you be a greedy bastard and take away my points!" He smirked, before jumping away from the scene.
What a good spirit he has, Toshinori thought, before rushing off to find more robots. He jumped off from building to building, as he saw three 3-pointers in range.
He used the building to build momentum, before jumping from it and raising his fist.
Before the 3-pointers could react, Toshinori was already there in a flash. He raises his fist and punched them, causing the ground to crumble as his tremendous strength destroyed the three robots.
"29 points." Toshinori counted again. Before he can rush off, a green enveloped bot crashed in front of him. He looked to see who did that. Tatsumaki.
She was floating in the air, green aura consuming her. She smirked, "Hey, lame-hair! Stay out of the way unless you want to be crushed by these annoying scraps of metal!" before flying away in an instant.
Toshinori sighed, that girl is so annoying sometimes. He rushed off to destroy more robots. As minutes passes by, Toshinori had already reached 70 points.
He looked to see that Tatsumaki, Metal Bat, hell, even King, did good in their own ways. King looked scared and anxious the whole time though, but his quirk included his emotions of fear, so that's a good thing. He gotta stop calling him king, though.
"TEN MINUTES LEFT!!!" The announcer's loud voice entered the battlefield. Toshinori rolled his eyes, "Yeah, you're so helpful." God damn, can he just say it without screaming?
As he destroyed more, he already reached a hundred. The loud voice came again, "FIVE MINUTES LEFT!"
Toshinori felt adrenaline pumping him up, as he used his speed to mercilessly crush the robots, the other examinees widened their eyes, mixed feelings came to them. One was that of awe, the other was that of annoyance since he's taking almost all of their points. They still did good though.
"150..." Toshinori muttered. But before he can rush off to destroy more robots, suddenly, the earth shook.
Toshinori looked behind him, only to see a giant robot coming through. It was the Zero Pointer. Seriously? Isn't this a bit of an overkill?
Toshinori wasn't about to cause a scene and flex his strength to destroy the bot, as it will cause unnecessary attention, which he didn't want. He didn't do this for the fame, just trying to do the right thing, and oh, to save people in their time of need, of course.
And so, he ran along with the other students. Bad yelled, "Shit, that thing is huge! Is the school tryin' to kill us? What the fuck!?"
"Just focus and run away, Bad-sa- I mean, Bad.." Toshinori suggested. Bad nodded, "Still though, scary as fuck!"
However, the 'thump thump' noises coming from King was louder than before. Meaning.. "Oji is scared more than he was before." Bad somehow voiced Toshinori's own train of thoughts as they ran.
Toshinori chuckled, "It's funny how his quirk is suited with his personality."
"Yeah, it is. Coincidence is a bitch." Bad laughed at his own remark. But then, he noticed the looks on Toshinori's eyes, "Eh? Yagi?" Bad suddenly stopped running.
Toshinori wasn't running anymore. He was looking into the direction of the zero pointer.
"Yagi what's-" Bad was shocked when he saw what unfolded, "Oh. My. Ever-loving. Fucking God."
"SENRITSU-SAN!" Toshinori ran off into the direction of the injured Tatsumaki. He appeared in front of her in an instant, "Hey, hey, are you okay?" Toshinori asked with concern.
"Fuck off, lame-hair! I don't need..your..SHIT!" Tatsumaki yelled in pain. Toshinori shook his head, "You do need my help..come on, just-"
"No! Those weaklings ran away, and I'm not gonna let myself be in the same shoes as those idiots! I'm gonna wreck this gigantic piece of shit and-" Tatsumaki winced in pain again, cutting herself off.
"Sometimes you just gotta save your pride for later in order to save your life. Come on, Senritsu-san, this isn't the time.." Toshinori pleaded. "Why the hell do you care anyway?! Shouldn't you be annoyed?! I mean..I antagonized your ass earlier!" Tatsumaki yelled.
"If I let a few negatives prevent me from doing the right thing, how could I call myself a 'hero-in-training'?" He smiled softly as he replied. Tatsumaki looked at him for a while, before replying, "Hmph! I'm still staying here. I'll take on the-"
"Jeez, you're really hard-headed, Senritsu-shonen!" Toshinori yelled. "S- shonen? Hey! I'm not-" Tatsumaki was cut off from finishing her sentence when the Zero Pointer was near them, shaking the ground as it foot made an impact to the ground.
Toshinori sighed. The girl was stubborn. He can run away using his speed while carrying Tatsumaki, under the condition that the girl wasn't going to be nauseous and not injured.
"Looks like I'm gonna have those unnecessary attention now, huh?" Toshinori muttered to himself. Having no choice, he stood in front of Tatsumaki.
"Huh? What are you doing?" Tatsumaki asked. Toshinori replied, "Stand back, don't move, it'll be over in a second."
"What?! Hey! I was supposed to.." Tatsumaki stopped herself from finishing her sentence when Toshinori entered into a stance, his fist clenched.
What is he...
"Killer move.." Toshinori muttered, "Serious Series..." He said again, before launching his fist, "SERIOUS SMASH!"
What occured next, was total destruction.
That's it for today's chapter! Stay tuned for the next!
