Author has written 2 stories for Puella Magi Madoka Magica/魔法少女まどか★マギカ, and Steins;Gate/シュタインズ ゲート. Usernames are fun! ... and by 'fun' I mean 'deranged' madokamadokamadoka on reddit and github @tomoyo on the /r/madokamagica discord madokahiru hereguess which shows I really like? well obviously. yuyuyu and utena. of course. I also founded a Discord server dedicated to inter-franchise magical girl community, with a lovely directory of other magical girl servers (30 and growing). Look for "Magical Girls Represent!" on DiscordServers (the search engine). something something author commentary I guess? Apparently I'm good at writing snappy circle-of-friends dialogue segments and producing conflicts which are deemed too real. I usually write by living several concurrent elaborate internal fantasy lives at once and spilling them out onto the keyboard at breakneck speed with a minimum of editing. The main disadvantage here is that when editing it is cognitively difficult for me to understand what's actually there on the written page and what's in my head. My works here are likely to be Madoka-centric: Hitomi Loves Girls — This is designed to usurp your series headcanon. Some of my best stuff, which I guess is remarkable considering how little planning and editing I did? steins;gem — MadokaTTS crossover, but this isn't likely to go super far any time soon, I'm afraid. I found that having the cast of Steins;gate in my head was a lot harder than expected. I love the Kyoko/Oriko material though. You'll find a snazzy quest on the Sufficient Velocity forums which is essentially a crossover between Hitomi Loves Girls and To The Stars and has a lot of focus on Hitomi and her other friends. Time travel is fun and awkward. Search for tac!Clarisse on said forums. I also have some original stories which don't really exist far outside my head: Revolutionary Ballerina Lyrical Ophelia — A magical girl dedicated to love and justice in an overtly political world. More likely to be found on AO3 than here, and still in planning stages. The main impediment to progress right now is that I keep envisioning it internally as a graphic novel work rather than as a written work, but my ability to deliver works of pure text is vastly superior. The secondary impediment is that I tried out my neat idea for how to actually start the work, but it turns out it sets expectations for the rest of the work that I don't intend to fulfill. Yon motley crew of misfits or whatever I call that thing with kids eating lunch outside: on ice, will likely be substantially reengineered. Among other things, I realized that the fictional work within the work needed its own story instead, hence Ophelia. I've got a nice homage to Narnia and That Hideous Strength (both at once) schemed out, in the abstract. |
