"Do you know what I think is the greatest feeling that you could ever have? It's that feeling of being challenged over and over again, and the drive for you to overcome those challenges with your own power. That is what I seek. Even if I have to destroy everyone and you included, I will acquire that feeling I sought. And your quirk, which you called 'One for All', will be the vessel for my satisfaction."
Musutafa Private Middle School..
Nana was having these odd visions, visions of memories that were not hers. And the voice...it felt familiar. But the pain in her chest was just enough to snap her out of it.
She clutched to her chest, blood staining her hero costume, as she looked to three of the pro-heroes, her vision getting blurry. She then was grabbed by a man behind him. The man was wearing a yellow cape and a white costume.
All she heard from him was, "Stay...me...Nana...Relax..."
The comforting words was enough for her to close her eyes, ready to slump into his arms as darkness began to consume her line of vision...
Sorahiko was panicking inside when Nana slumped into his arms. He tried to hold her tight, as he looked to the three of the pro-heroes that came to her aid.
He mouthed off a silent "Thank you...", but they didn't hear it. They just went on to confront the odd boy who was leaning against the school walls, not even bothered in the slightest about what had just transpired.
"Dammit, Nana.." Sorahiko cursed under his breath, "Don't you dare die on me..." He said again, holding back his tears.
His focus was now getting his best friend to safety, to the care of the doctors. But he couldn't do that, because he has to evacuate the school too. He needed another pro-hero to come and assist him. As if the universe answered his prayers, a pro-hero came to the scene.
Lightning Max ran towards his direction, panting, "W..what happened to Floatie?!" He asked, noticing the unconscious Nana on Sorahiko's arms.
"One of those damned creatures got her. Thankfully, the upperclasses pro-heroes came to her aid before..." Sorahiko paused as he was about to finish his sentence.
"I understand. I can take her from here while you evacuate the school." Lightning Max offered, but Sorahiko shook his head, "No, I'll take care of her. You go ahead and evacuate the school." There was sadness in his voice.
Lightning Max was silent for a few seconds, before replying, "Very well then. Just be gentle with her, kay?"
"I'm her best friend." Sorahiko mouthed off, "I'll be gentler to her than you could ever be." He then took off instantly with his quirk, carrying Nana above his shoulders.
Lightning Max was bewildered for a moment, "What just got into him...?"
"Stop spacing out and try to evacuate the students and the teachers already." A voice called out from behind. He turned back to see Stinger with his spear on his hands.
"Oh..oh! Right!" Lightning Max replied before going along with Stinger.
"It's amusing how a brat like you caused a mass destruction across the city just to satisfy your need for revenge. Reminds me of myself, you know?" Flashy Flash remarked, holding his sword above his shoulder.
It was Ganryu's turn to speak, "You've caused enough casualties, child. You're coming with us."
The boy only laughed, "No, I don't think I will."
Superalloy spoke, "I'm sorry, kid, but what he said wasn't a request." He hated hurting anyone, much less a kid. He wants to resolve this without any more person getting hurt.
The boy replied, "There's only one way to make me come with you, and that is to kill me. But your laws doesn't allow you to, does it?"
"You're an idiot if you think that. We could force you to come with us." Flashy Flash remarked.
Miriko laughed out loud, confusing the three of the pro-heroes. "Is something funny, brat?! I don't recall ever jesting with you." Flashy Flash said again, already running out of his patience.
Superalloy held a hand in front of Flashy Flash, "Don't let him get to you. He's just a kid."
"A psychotic kid who nearly destroyed the city." Flashy Flash retorted.
Superalloy didn't answer, but instead, kept his stern tone with the boy, "Miriko Hamuze, you're in no position to make that kind of ultimatum," He then approached the boy, pulling out a cuff, "We insist you to come with us. I do not have the intention to hurt you, but I will if I have to."
The boy smirked, before saying, "Why don't you guys get lost and find something better to do? Like you know, killing everyone in this city?" Miriko asked, letting his quirk take over.
But for over the next few seconds, nothing happened. Miriko waited for them to go away, or say something that they would never say.
Flashy Flash let out an amused chuckle, "You rely heavily on your quirk, don't you? Some villains are just the worst when it comes to the brains."
Miriko's stance got intense for a bit, before relaxing as Superalloy got close to him, "Your quirk doesn't work on us. Give it up."
Miriko snorted, closing his eyes as he looked down, "My quirk may not have an effect on all of you, but there is something else at play here, don't you realise?"
Superalloy raised his brow, before saying, "Are you trying to distract us? Because none of that will work on us."
Miriko laughed lightly, "No, no, no, you see..this has been going according to the plan."
The three of the pro-heroes didn't know what he was talking about. But soon they will when the ground behind them cracked open under an explosion.
Somei Private Academy...
The pinnacle of beauty and justice, Amai Mask, or Fujikata Byuto, his real name, walked out of the schoolyard. Apparently, school was cancelled due to the current invasion of the monsters in the town.
Pathetic. Most of the heroes of this age are nothing but a bunch of incompetent rascals. Amai Mask thought in his head.
I will reach the top to prevent any future failures to get to the top 10's. No, not just top 10's, TOP 20's even.
As he walked, he had the 'luck' to see a cloaked, scarred man with an unkempt hair, equipped with a gatling gun on his left hand. He is a pro-hero, namely Death Gatling, the number 19 ranked hero.
Death Gatling were struggling to fight off the hordes of subterraneans. He jumped off from a slam from one of the creatures, before blowing it's head off with his gatling gun.
As he spinned in the air, he was interrupted when a fist came to his abdomen, slamming him into the nearest wall.
He coughed blood, before struggling to stand up, as he lifted his gatling gun up, "DEATH SHOWER!" He screamed as he focus the shots of his gatling gun into one single point of the creature's body: It's chest.
As he launched the full power of his gatling gun, the creature's chest exploded, the blood falling from the air, staining the street.
He then dodged another attack of the other subterranean who appeared suddenly from his right side, it's fist destroying the wall.
He aimed his gatling gun at his head, but was stopped when a feet crushed his back from behind.
Death Gatling coughed more blood as he was lying on his face, trying to stand back up. But his attempts was stopped when a feet crushed his head, the entire weight of the creature preventing him from moving his head.
"You're quite skilled for a glorified meal." The creature remarked. The other subterranean licked the pro-hero's neck, "I can already taste your meat from here, little hero."
S- shit! How do I get out of this... The pro-hero thought in his head. His hope vanished for a moment, before a blue blur came to the head of the creature, blowing it away.
The figure spun around in the air elegantly, before landing on the ground, flexing and fixing his long blue hair whilst standing up. "And who do we have here?! Another meal?!" The creature remarked while uncontrollably licking his lips.
Amai Mask did not respond, however, he created afterimages of himself by speeding up to the right side, before speeding forward to the left, in order to confuse the creature.
As he appeared besides Death Gatling in an instant, the creature roared, trying to grab the brat and eat him.
It's smirk dropped when it realised that he was just grabbing the air. Suddenly, Amai Mask appeared in front of the creature's face.
Amai Mask blow a kiss away in an attempt to taunt the creature, before doing an uppercut to the creature's chin, sending it hurling into multiple buildings.
As Amai Mask landed on the ground, he tilted his head to see the poor pro-hero, lying on the ground.
Death Gatling slowly lifted his head, before growling, "Who are you?! Another one of those top-ranked heroes?!" Byuto chuckled, "I'm not a pro-hero. Not yet anyway."
"Then why...you have no license, don't you, brat?" Death Gatling asked, glaring at the young handsomely masked boy. Amai Mask ignored his comment, before turning to the pro-hero, "You did well, Death Gatling. But I can't help but point out a few flaws I saw in you."
"Oi, answer my-" Death Gatling was interrupted when Amai Mask pointed at him, "I must say the fact that you went alone without any backup heroes to face these unsightly creatures off is the biggest mistake on your part. Team work at these times are needed, especially if you're facing off against an entire army of monsters. You alone, don't stand a chance."
Death Gatling's nerve was smitten by the young, modest, and handsome boy, "YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO REPRIMAND ME! I HAVE DONE THIS LONGER THAN YOU THINK!" He screamed to the top of his lungs, trying to stand up, but couldn't find the strength to. His back was crushed.
Amai Mask, once again, ignored his outburst, and continued on with his criticism, "And your appearance, dear god, you look like a delinquent, not a hero. Your hair is unkempt, messy, unappealing, fix that. Your costume is that of a delinquent, a filthy hunter from the woods, find more suitable hero costume. You see, being a hero isn't all about beating bad guys, it's about modesty too, and your outfit doesn't seem too modest, I have no doubt that people have mistaken you as a street thug back in the past."
Although Amai Mask was right regarding the 'street thug' part, the memory was fresh, but Death Gatling couldn't stand this boy anymore. He doesn't have the right to criticize him! He's just a boy, not a hero! Not a hero like him! Also, did he just insulted his looks?! How arrogant!
Fujikata Byuto continued, "And you can't make people feel safe if that's the case, right, Death Gatling?" He smiled politely, before continuing, "Being a hero means that you have to look appealing in front of the public. You'll have an everlasting image on their minds, an image of an appealing, awe-inspiring hero. But in your case, people will remember you as a terrifying street thug instead of a great hero. The traits of ugliness, devoid of beauty, is unworthy to be a trait of a hero. I hope you understand that, Death Gatling, because that is one of the first steps of becoming a true, ideal hero."
Death Gatling was about to scream, to insult this boy for having the nerve to lecture him about how this hero stuff works, "YOU FUCKING BRAT! STOP IT BEFORE I-"
"Oh and another thing," Amai Mask crouched, putting his finger on the older hero's mouth, "You have to keep that mouth in short leash. Foul and disgusting words are not something that comes out of the mouth of a true hero. And your attitude, you should also fix it. You're short-tempered, you interact poorly with civilians, the example being how you reacted to me when I criticized you, which brings me to my last point,"
Amai Mask then continued, "Accept criticism, especially if that comes out of the mouth of a civilian. Use it and reflect on it, to improve yourself as a hero, instead of being a hard-headed fool in denial. You're not a true hero, no, you're not a good hero either. Far from it. You have no place to be arrogant and act inconsiderate towards the opinion of others."
Death Gatling coughed a blood, before growling, "You ungrateful...piece of shit...just because I'm not the top ten..you have the obligation to criticize me?! We're heroes too! The hierarchy in the hero society makes no sense! We all should be treated the same! We risks our life just the same as those who are at the top!"
Amai Mask chuckled, "Make no mistake, my criticism has nothing to do with hierarchy. I just see flaws, and I point it out, that's all. Even if I see GANRYU himself making a mistake in the middle of his work, I will make no hesitation to criticize him."
"What are you after, brat?! Trying to make an impression or something?!" Death Gatling yelled.
Amai Mask answered, "No, but I do have a goal..I want to create a society full of heroes true to my ideals, and I will reach the top to do so." He then stood up, "I hope you take your time after all of this is done to reflect on yourself and think about the things I just said."
Death Gatling was about to response, but suddenly, multiple stomp was heard from every side of the area.
The subterraneans were surrounding them. Death Gatling gasped, before yelling to the kid, "Boy! Get out of here! It's too dangerous!"
Amai Mask sternly replied, "While you lay here, injured? Not gonna happen."
"You have no license! You're inexperienced! You could-" Death Gatling was interrupted when Amai Mask disappeared in a blur, before appearing in front of one of the subterraneans, "KUSO GAKIIIII!!" Death Gatling screamed in worry.
Amai Mask smirked as he did an uppercut to the creature, staggering it, before launching dozens of one sided kick, before doing an upward kick, sending the creature hurling away.
As he landed on the ground, he reacted quickly and swept his legs to his behind, to the creatures that were coming at him, before swatting them away with a hard flick of his right leg.
The creatures were sent away, as they hit the ground, losing consciousness. Amai Mask did a backward jump, somersaulting in the air, as he landed on the creature's head, effectively crushing it, before jumping towards the head of the other creature, stomping and destroying it, as matter of brain were splattered onto the ground.
Amai Mask saw a giant hand coming his way, trying to slam him into the ground from above.
Amai Mask did a small somersault, blocking the attack with the mere strength of his leg, before landing on the creature's chest, plucking both of it's eyes out.
The creature screamed in pain, before Amai Mask dodged the attack incoming directed towards him.
Due to him dodging, the creature ended up hitting itself, much to it's frustration.
Amai Mask then grab hold of the creature's skin, threatening to rip it off. The subterranean screamed in panic, as it flailed it's hand around it's back to get the human off it's back, to no avail due to Amai Mask's reaction speed.
The creature then ran around in it's blindness, swinging it's arms around the area in fear, fear and pain. Unbeknownst to it, it was attacking the other charging subterraneans, flailing it's arms around and hitting them accidentally, a team killing as it seems.
"O- Oi! What are you doing?! WE'RE YOUR-" The other subterranean was smashed into the wall by the blind creature, ultimately killing it.
Amai Mask chuckled, as he brought all of his fingers close to each other, creating a singular point on the tallest finger, before piercing the creature's head with it.
He brought his hand out, revealing that the creature's brain is destroyed. He kicked the corpse away, as it slumped into the ground, with Amai Mask landing besides it. Death Gatling widened his eyes in shock and impression.
What kind of quirk does this kid have...? He moves so swift, every bit of his attacks felt coordinated, planned...how?! He's just a kid. Death Gatling thought in his head. The pro-hero's quirk wasn't anything flashy, it was only a quirk of vision of some sort, and it only helps him to focus on the targets he wanted to shoot, effectively making him a marksmen.
While this kid...the quirk he has, it has to be powerful. He noticed that some of the quirks of the younger generation are stronger than the previous, not to mention the mysterious 'vigilante whom disappears', who was rumoured to be only 15 years of age, and he, or she, had already displayed tremendous amount of power.
Could it be...that the quirk singularity theory that crazy scientist was talking about is true..?
Amai Mask turned around to see the last subterranean standing, "You... BRAT! I'LL KILL YOU FOR-" He didn't give the creature a chance to finish, before speeding off to it's location, ripping off it's legs with a swift pull. The creature screamed in pain, as it looked back to where Amai Mask is, "NO-!!" It pleaded, but Byuto wasn't about to show mercy to such a villainous, ugly creature.
He used the severed leg to swat the creature's head away, as it rolled into the ground, the main corpse slumping into the ground.
What the hell is he!? Death Gatling thought.
Amai Mask dropped the severed legs, before looking back to Death Gatling, who was still lying on the ground, unable to move due to the broken bones on his back.
"Kid... you're in big trouble." Death Gatling warned, "You took action without approval, without a license..."
"Jeez, you're welcome." Amai Mask said while laughing lightly, "I'm aware of that, really. But does that stop me from doing the right thing? Nope. You're injured. If I leave you here, I'd be going against everything that I stand for: A hero of my ideal."
Death Gatling couldn't help but smile. This kid has a really bright future. Although he felt a bit irritated since he had the gal to criticize the older hero, he only brushed it off, leaving it behind as a foul situation.
"Kid..." Death Gatling said again, before asking, "What's your name?"
"Just call me Amai Mask." He replied. Death Gatling widened his eyes, "Amai Mask? Y- you mean that famous duo of idols, t- the Amai Masks?! Kid, you may have good looks, but I don't think you look like-"
"I am Fujikata Koto and Fujikata Shina's son, is that enough?" Amai Mask spat out.
"Y- you're their so- son?!" Death Gatling asked in shock, to which Byuto replied with a nod, "I am. My parents are what inspired me to invent the ideal hero that I have in my mind."
He then approached the injured pro-hero, before stretching out a hand, "But that's enough questions about my parents. Grab my hand, I'll get you to the hospital."
Death Gatling was about to argue that he could handle himself from here, but couldn't find the right words. He couldn't argue. He was injured, unable to stand. He needed help.
He sighed. Maybe even a hero needs help every once in a while, right? He grabbed unto the stretched hand of Amai Mask, struggling to stand up.
"ACKH!" He squawked in pain. "Easy there.." Byuto gently said, before offering his shoulder as a support for the pro-hero.
As they walked slowly while Byuto supported the pro-hero's hand with his shoulder. "Hey, Amai Mask, kid..." Death Gatling called out again.
Amai Mask only replied with a 'hmm?'. Death Gatling sighed, "I want to ask you something...regarding the traits of a good hero...does it have something to do with the rankings?"
Amai Mask laughed, "Heavens, no. There are some heroes that I think doesn't deserve their place at the top. Stinger, for example, is one of the top ten heroes, but he's too incompetent. He's weak, relies too much on that weapon of his. One could wonder what will happen if he loses it. Actually, it happened once, he lost to a weakling of a villain just because his weapon was in need of fixing. He also has the appearance of a delinquent, which is inelegant, and unappealing, the same as you are. In my opinion? He deserves the number 20 spot, right next to you."
Death Gatling nodded for a moment, before asking again while walking, "H..have you ever encountered a true hero then? A hero that matched your ideals?"
"Not that I heard of, no. Ganryu, the number one hero, is strong, but dresses like a street thug. Flashy Flash is close to being a hero that radiates beauty, but his attitude reeks of death. Superalloy Darkshine...I don't even wanna say it." Amai Mask laughed, "But I did encounter one, though, but he's not a hero, not yet anyways.."
"Is he a hero-in-training?" Death Gatling asked. "Precisely." Amai Mask answered, "But he almost showed me every traits, every actions that a true hero must do: The beauty of self-sacrifice."
"Self-sacrifice?" Death Gatling asked, "What did he do to impress you that much?"
Amai Mask took a deep breath, before saying, "He did what no heroes in this age does: Putting others before themselves. You see, he was an U.A exam participant."
He then continued, "At the last moments of the exam, a girl was stubborn and prideful enough to confront an enemy stronger than she was, but this person that I was talking about...he rushed to her aid without hesitation, telling her to run with him, the latter refused to listen. So what did he do? He stood in front of the girl, before blasting that damned giant machine into oblivion, completely oblivious to his own well-being."
Death Gatling wondered who this kid might be. To think that a kid like him exists, he must be pure of heart, his motivations to become a hero must truly came from his desire to help people, with no ulterior motives.
"I just hope he can match to my expectations. He may have shown me the actions of a true hero, but he hasn't show me his essence of beauty.." Amai Mask said again.
Death Gatling replied again, "Must everything be associated with beauty or something? Not all of us have a decent fac-" He then coughed a blood.
Amai Mask looked at him with worry, before saying, "Well, I think you should stop talking for the time being. We'll discuss this later."
Death Gatling growled, before staying silent. The kid is right. He really needed treatment..
King's Household..
"INTERFERE?! YOU CRAZY, DUDE?!" King screamed to the top of his lungs, forgetting for the multiple times that his father is asleep, "Look, I know you blew that giant machine into oblivion, but man, you have no license! You could get into trouble! You can also get killed!"
Toshinori shook his head, "Tsuyoi-san, at this point I don't really care if the law is against me, I'm interfering. As for the latter, the girl over here begs to differ." He then pointed at Izumi.
"Dude, let the pro-heroes handle this! Have faith in them!" King yelled again, worried for his friend, "I don't want to see you die, man, you're obviously having too much confidence in your own abilities. It would suck to see a friend of mine die in his recklessness!"
"King, I'm not going to die." Toshinori reassured, "I can handle myself just fine. It'll be over in a second, I promise."
"Yagi, no. I'm going to stop you, right here." King grab hold of his arms, "I'm not letting you go."
"You don't know what you're doing. Stop it." Toshinori reprimanded. "Go ahead, hit me, beat the shit out of me, at least that's better than seeing you die out there." King coldly replied.
Toshinori didn't do so, "King..." He said. He couldn't afford to let all of this commence. And what about Genos? Is he fine?! And Yui..He has to interfere, otherwise...people would die, and it'll be his fault..
"GO AHEAD!!" King screamed. He didn't care if he has to get beaten the snot out of. If it means sparing Yagi from his impending death, then so be it. Yagi was one of the only ones that has shown him kindness, to be his friend even though he didn't ask for it. He didn't want to let that go so soon. He can't stand seeing his friends die.
"King.." Toshinori said again, "Instead of worrying about me, can you do something to prove yourself?"
"Huh?" King was confused.
"All your life, people felt nothing but intimidation just by your looks alone, right?" Toshinori asked again, and King responded with a nod.
"How about you make it up by taking care of little Izumi here while I'm gone?" Toshinori asked him a favour with a smile, startling Izumi, as she looked up to the person she adores the most.
"W...what do you..?" King was interrupted when Toshinori spoke again, "It'd be cool if the girl wasn't so afraid of you, right? Just proves to you that you're not someone to be feared."
Izumi was still looking up to Toshinori, tears welling up in her eyelids, "T- Toshi-kun.."
Toshinori looked down, before smiling, "Don't worry, I'll be back soon, I promise..."
Izumi held to his legs in a pleading eyes, clutching it tightly, "Toshi-kun..."
Yagi Toshinori then turned his gaze to King, "Will you protect her? For me?"
"Yagi, I already said-" King was interrupted when Toshinori put his hands on his shoulder, "Promise me?"
King couldn't help but shut his eye down. This guy was too selfless for his own good. An admirable quality, but can also kill him if he's not too careful. His tears welled up, as he looked to his face, before saying, "Please don't die. I still wanna kick your ass in Tekken.." He smiled sadly as he said that.
Toshinori chuckled, "I won't die until I get that win, King."
Izumi clutched to his legs tighter, "Don't do it, Toshi-kun...please don't leave..." She pleaded, "I'm scared! You will get eaten by the bad monsters!"
Toshinori replied with a sigh, "We've been through this before, I won't die." He then spoke again, "Look...did you bring your phone?"
The girl reluctantly nodded. Toshinori gave her a thumbs up, "Call me when you need me, my door is always open."
He then gently pushed her hands away from his legs, before turning away to go. Izumi, however, was persistent, "TOSHI-KUN! NO! DON'T GO!" But he was gone already.
"TOSHI-KUN!!" She cried to the ground, her tears staining the floor. King could only pat her back, not knowing what to say to comfort the poor little girl, other than, "He'll be back."
Mustafa Private Middle School..
"What" Superalloy Darkshine muttered.
"The" Ganryu's voice was a little bit louder.
"HELL?!" Flashy Flash's voice outshine the both of theirs.
The Subterranean King emerged out of the ground, clearly stronger than before, before letting out a calling roar to the sky.
In a second, millions, upon millions of subterraneans came circling the school with the intent to kill. It was clear, that these subterraneans outnumbered the pro-heroes all throughout the city. The students and the teachers of the school was evacuated to an underground basement that were built by the HPSC in order to keep people safe.
To pay the price, both Stinger and Lightning Max were out of comission, and from what they heard, every pro-heroes in this city were utterly defeated, outnumbered, outmatched.
They needed reinforcement from other cities, perhaps heroes like Silverfang, Atomic Samurai, or Tanktop Master could help them? But this was out of their jurisdiction, so-
The top three heroes's train of thoughts were interrupted when the Subterranean King stepped forward, smiling maliciously, "You really thought you could kill me, how sad. I have tricks up my sleeves too, you know?" He finished before pointing his finger forwards, "Slay them all, my children, feast on their flesh like there's no tomorrow!"
"Tch, what a fodder." Flashy Flash remarks, before looking back at the boy, "Once I'm done with them, I'll be coming for you, brat."
Miriko only responded with a smirk. They're sooooo going to die.
"Wait! There's millions of-" Superalloy was interrupted when Flashy Flash disappeared into a blur.
FLASHY SLASH!
As he was done moving, he stopped in the air, revealing that he had instantaneously slashed over twenty subterraneans, cutting them in half.
He landed on the ground, before using his speed to dodge away the attacks from multiple enraged subterraneans, before raising his feet,
FLASHY KICK!
As he moved in great speed, he used his legs to rapidly kick some of the creature's heads away, decapitating over thirty creatures almost instantly with his legs alone.
Superalloy sighed, "That guy is too reckless...we needed to form a plan!" He yelled.
Ganryu, however, wasn't on his side, "Who cares about plans when you have a quirk like mine." He smirked. His quirk was actually a pretty powerful one, namely 'Air Force', allowing him to manipulate the air around him, usually to carry objects, or to crush them with the pressure of the wind.
Ganryu then moved onward, crushing the subterraneans with his quirk, the wind pressure blowing them apart one by one.
Superalloy could only slap his forehead, "How did they enter the top three again?" he asked himself. He then formed a plan of his own, that is to attack the leader of the pack while the other two deal with the rest.
He closed his eyes, before launching himself towards the leader, cocking his fist, preparing himself to strike the Subterranean King.
Hopefully, things won't end so bad..
Meanwhile, the evacuation basement...
Genos with Dr. Kuseno was waiting in amidst of the crowds, waiting for the next instruction from the pro-heroes.
He was on Basement A. Apparently, multiple basements were built across the city by the HPSC in case of emergencies like these.
He was frustrated. His training after school was interrupted by these monsters, but he had to not let it bother him, as this concerns his safety. He then wondered about Toshinori. Is he safe? Is he fending off the creatures, ultimately doing a suicidal move? What about Yui Ichika? Is she fine? He called her earlier only to find out that she was in a different evacuation basement than he is. But still, the worries are still there.
He won't let the uneasiness bother him, but he couldn't help but worry.
As he pondered, suddenly, his phone buzzed. He accepted the call, revealing that it was Toshinori much to his relief.
However, he didn't get to say anything when Toshinori screamed to his ear, "GENOS?! ARE YOU FINE?!"
"T- Toshinori-kun! I'm... I'm fine but..I should be asking you the same. Are you?" Genos asked again.
"I'm fine, I'm fine! I'm sorry for not calling you sooner, I didn't mean to forget about you but...a lot has been on my mind, and now I feel like a major jerk.." Toshinori admitted as he sighed.
Genos was about to tell him that it was fine, but was interrupted, "By the way, where are you?! And is Yui-chan fine?!"
"I'm in one of the evacuation basement A with Kuseni-san, whilst Yui-chan is in evacuation basement B, she's fine, I can assure you, but..what about you? Where are you?" Genos asked.
Toshinori replied in his phone, "I'm on my way to..well, the center of the invasion: Mustafa Private Middle School. I'm ending this once and for all. Take care of yourself, okay? I'll be there as soon as I can."
Genos widened his eyes in shock. Sure, Toshinori was strong, but this?
"Don't you dare.." Genos replied, worry about his best friend began to overwhelm him, "DON'T YOU DARE-?!"
However, Toshinori hung up. Genos let out a distress cry, before trying to exit, "I'M GOING AFTER HIM!"
Dr. Kuseno held him back, "Boy! What do you think you're doing?!"
"Kuseno-san, what Toshinori-kun is doing, it's suicidal! He's planning to face off against an entire army of the monsters by himself-" Suddenly, Genos was chopped in the neck by Dr. Kuseno.
As Genos slumped, Kuseno held him, preventing him from falling.
Kuseno sighed,
I'm sorry, boy, but your safety matters to me the most...and Yagi-san, whatever it is you're trying to do...I hope it succeeds.
Meanwhile..
Nana opened her eyes, only to see Sorahiko standing above her. "Sorahiko..?" She muttered. She looked around to see that she was sleeping on the emergency room bed.
"Nana! Thank goodness you're fine!" Sorahiko smiled brightly. Nana's chest were bandaged, her hero costume were nowhere to be seen. As she tried to move further, she felt pain on her chest, "S- shit..!"
"Don't push yourself too hard." Sorahiko warned. Nana then yelled, "The Subterranean King! He-"
"-Has already been killed." Sorahiko interrupted, "Seriously, you worry too much. Do you even see who was handling him before you pass out? They're one of the most powerful heroes we have."
Nana shook her head in disbelief, "I was handling him just fine, but I was underestimating him, it really led me to my downfall. I...held back against him, tried to reform him for some reason.."
To be fair, Nana Shimura had the strength to climb the ranks and be at the top with the likes of Ganryu, Superalloy Darkshine, or Flashy Flash. She has One for All, after all. But she didn't really wanted the attention. It could draw All For One closer to her.
All her life was spent by hiding from All For One ever since she was given the quirk, to prevent herself from getting killed, to pass on One for All until the torch grows stronger and stronger until it's enough to defeat All For One for good, after all, that's all what he ever wanted.
Until she finds a suitable successor, she won't leisure herself in fame and fortune, or climbing the ranks like an ambitious idiot. Yagi Toshinori is a potential contender for being a successor, but even so, she didn't want to relax until she's sure he is the one, lest he refused the quirk.
Sorahiko suddenly interrupted her train of thoughts when he put a hand on her shoulder, "It's fine. You tried." He said simply.
Nana could only smile lightly, "Thanks..." She then picked a cup from her side, which was prepared by Sorahiko, and drank from it.As she stopped drinking, she turned her head to Sorahiko, before saying, "Say...have you heard of a slanted-eyed, brown-haired kid from somewhere around here?"
"...no." Sorahiko replied simply, before asking, "Why do you ask?"
Nana replied, "Strange...he seemed like the one who's behind all of this..He was partly the reason why I lost."
"...eh?" Sorahiko was confused, "A kid caused your loss against the Subterranean King? How?"
"He wasn't just a normal kid..his quirk, it somehow made me dizzy..when he spoke to me, my head felt like it was being hit a thousand times. It distracts me..Makes me think that he has a quirk of mind control of some sorts, but it doesn't work on everyone." Nana explained.
"Wait, does that mean he brainwashed those monsters to kill people? But why though?" Sorahiko asked again.
"No idea but..." Nana had an idea pop in her mind, "I have to confront him."
Sorahiko sighed, "And here I was believing that you would stay put."
"But I don't understand how a kid like him could do something like that. Something must've been hurting him, and I need to know what it is! Maybe I can-" Nana was interrupted when Sorahiko spoke, "Help him? Nana, a criminal is a criminal, no matter if they've been hurt or not. Now stay put, before I knock you out to make you do so."
Nana stared at him for a moment, before sighing, "Fine... but I'm visiting him once I recover."
"Have it your way, mistress." Sorahiko replied, earning a glare from Nana due to the nickname.
Mustafa Private Middle School...
SUPERALLOY DOUBLE BAZOOKA!!
Darkshine threw two of his fist into the direction of the Subterranean King, but it only staggered him. The Subterranean King smirked as he used one of his blades to slash the hero.
Darkshine barely dodged it, as he landed on the ground, before trying to bring him down by a strike to his legs, to which he endured just fine. The legs didn't move, not even a bit.
"H- Huh?" Darkshine was shocked. The creature was getting stronger than he thought.
"DIE!" The Subterranean King stomped the ground where Darkshine stood, but he retaliated by trying to hold his feet away.
"KKKKKHHHH...!!!!" Darkshine struggled to push his feet away, trying his hardest to succeed. Dammit, maybe going against this guy alone wasn't such a good idea...
Meanwhile, Flashy Flash easily slid over the hordes of subterraneans, using his insta-kill blade to chop each of their limbs off, as pool of blood began to overwhelm the school.
Dammit, what a mess!
As he sped up as fast as he can, he already cut through dozens upon dozens of subterraneans, decapitating them in an instant.
A hundred thousand, nine hundred thousand more.. He counted in his head. Before he can make his move, suddenly, the air around him intensified.
He looked to see Ganryu besides him, using the air to propel some of the creature's away.
"You stole my prey, Mr. 'number one'." Flashy Flash growled. Ganryu sighed, "I don't think this is the time-"
"Out of my way." Flashy Flash hissed, before propelling himself away at great speed. Ganryu sighed, "He really is unreadable."
Ganryu then looked to see Superalloy Darkshine engaging the Subterranean King all by himself.
Uh oh, what the hell is he thinking?!
Darkshine blocked another incoming attack from the Subterranean King, causing a bone-cracking noise from one of his arms.
The muscular hero ignored the pain, before jumping high in the air, preparing his legs,
SUPERALLOY MISSILE!
The impact of the attack caused the ground to crack into pieces, as a large crater were made. The smoke cleared, revealing the unharmed Subterranean King, blocking the attack head on.
H- Huh?!
The Subterranean King then pushed the hero away into the air, before using four of his blades to spin around, leaving Superalloy with no way to defend himself in the air from such an attack.
Darkshine was surprised when he was lifted in the air by none other than Ganryu.
He looked to see Ganryu with a disappointed look on his face, "Really, taking on the leader by yourself?"
The Subterranean King stopped spinning around, turning his head to the wind hero, "Another prey comes to be hunted." He smirked, "Let's settle this then, humans!"
Meanwhile, Flashy Flash was still engaging the rest of the subterraneans, using his speed to mercilessly severe their limbs away. Two hundred...thousand...
Flashy Flash was obviously pushing himself to his limits.
Dammit, there's no end to them!
He gritted his teeth as he felt exhaustion overtaking him. He stopped speeding around, standing in front of the hordes of subterraneans coming at him, out for his flesh.
He closed his eyes, before cocking his insta-kill sword..
HEAVY FLASH SLASH!
In an instant, he thrusts his sword multiple times into barrages of the subterraneans, cutting through dozens of them in an instant.
As he finished, he jumped from one of the falling corpses, into another corpse, before spinning around in the air,
WIND BLADE KICK!
The force of his leg sent the subterranean away, causing it to slam through hordes of charging subterraneans, blowing them away into pieces.
Flashy Flash landed on the ground, feeling that his speed was decreasing.
Tch! At this rate I'm gonna-
He reacted quickly to the attack from behind him. The subterranean who attacked smiled viciously, as it threw another attack again, to which Flashy Flash responded with a swift slice to it's limb, severing it's arm.
Multiple subterraneans were trying to pin him down, as fist after another slammed down to his direction.
Flashy Flash yanked from each attacks, barely dodging them from his exhaustion.
However, the last of the attacks successfully landed on his body, sending him propelling away. As he crash landed on the ground, his sword falling from his hands, he struggled to stand.
Meanwhile, Ganryu was struggling to even lift the Subterranean King away from the ground. He clenced his teeth, as he tried his hardest to crush the creature under the pressure, but failed to do so.
The Subterranean King suddenly grabbed Ganryu by his arm, before slamming him multiple times into the ground.
"NOOOOO!" Superalloy Darkshine screamed to the top of his lungs, cocking his fist and threw his strongest punch,
MEGATON ALLOY SMASH!!!
As his fist made impact to his face, the Subterranean King pushed his fist away with his face, before swatting him away easily with his arms.
How...
Superalloy Darkshine was sent hurling away from the area, as the Subterannean King continued to play along with Ganryu, the number one hero.
Is this it...? Ganryu thought. Is this how it ends...?
The Subterranean King slammed him into the ground again, before repeatedly punching him against the ground, making the crater larger and larger with each fists.
Ganryu was a bloody mess, his face was bruised, his nose was broken, and blood was everywhere on his mouth.
The Subterranean King made a last effort to kill the pro-hero once and for all. He raised one of his blades, and what came next is going to be bloody.
The blade was thrusted into the pro-hero's chest, as he screamed painfully, blood coming out of his mouth profusely.
I'm so sorry, daughter... Ganryu thought in his head, as life began to fade away from his eyes.
"NOOOOOO!!!!" A screaming voice was heard from afar, "YOU MONSTEEERRR!!!!!!" Superalloy Darkshine made yet another appearance, his rage overflowing.
He threw barrages of Superalloy Bazookas into the direction of the Subterranean King. He may be staggered a bit by the impact, and the power the hero put into his punches may be stronger than the previous, but it was still not enough.
Darkshine ended with a Superalloy Double Bazooka, creating a large gust of wind from his hands.
He landed on the ground, looking at the now dying Ganryu on the ground. Tears began leaking out of his eyes, "I'm so sorry...I couldn't.." However, he was interrupted when the smoke cleared, revealing an unharmed Subterranean King, "You think that was enough to kill me?" He began laughing maniacally, "A mistake on your part."
"No..." Superalloy Darkshine began to tremble in fear. "This is the supposed top-ranked heroes?" The Subterranean King began laughing, "How weak! How hopeless! You humans are beyond screwed now! Is this the best you can offer?! WEAKLINGS!! Taking over your society won't be so hard now!"
Superalloy Darkshine stood in front of Ganryu, who felt his life draining away from his very being. Everything was hopeless. If the top-heroes like them couldn't defeat him, then who else could?
Flashy Flash was on the verge of being eaten by the subterraneans, his exhaustion failed him greatly.
He only closed his eyes, feeling that there was no hope yet...
All those training, all those times spent with his past friend in the ninja village, Speed O' Sound Sonic, are going to be a waste. A great ninja like him..having such a shameful ending: He will be remembered forever as a meal for these measly creatures.
But before he can meet his end, suddenly, a blur moved instantly, blowing the subterraneans into pieces, as blood exploded everywhere. Flashy Flash abruptly landed on the ground, his armor stained in the blood of the creatures.
What was...
Darkshine, who was standing in front of Ganryu, clenching his fist, trying to bring out a little bit of fight that was left on his spirit, suddenly felt a gust of wind passing him by.
Darkshine was confused by the occurrence, but in the past few seconds, the smoke cleared, revealing a middle-schooler teen in front of him, both of his fists clenched.
"Another of you trash apes trying to stand up to me? A child, even?" The Subterranean King smiled malevolently. The 'child', however, didn't flinch at all at his booming voice.
"...what the...HEY, KID! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE-" The muscular black-skinned hero paused when the kid lifted a thumbs up in the air.
"Don't worry." Toshinori then looked back with a wide smile on his face, "It's all fine now. Why?"
He then stared the Subterranean King dead in the eye, before finishing his famous catchphrase, "BECAUSE I AM HERE!"
That's all for today's chapter! Whoa, that was the longest chapter I've ever done yet! I hope you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
