Stepping out of the wasteland, Hiccup sees that the world he once knew is now destroyed. See his old town abandoned and destroyed, the trees barely growing back, and wreckage on the roads.
"Okay I just need to stay on my feet and try not to get emotional," Hiccup thought.
Hiccup walks away from the vault, and begins walking down the stairs, and sets out in his old town. Hiccup walked into town hoping to expect some sort of life, but there were none. Hiccup looked to see the remains of a police officer near a crosswalk still holding his gun. Hiccup goes to the remains of the cop and grabs the gun from the dead man's hand. He looked to see if the gun had ammo. Unfortunately, the gun didn't, and Hiccup put the gun back down.
Hiccup continues to walk around his town until he comes across his old after-school hangout. Charles Mechanic shop Hiccup sighed and looked at the mechanic shop to see half of the paint had fallen off, the shop sign had fallen off from the roof, and the windows were all shattered.
"I hope Charles gets to the shelter...probably not," Hiccup thought.
Hiccup then goes to the front of the mechanic shop and finds the door open. He stepped inside the shop and looked around the storefront to see nothing left but old car magazines that he stored in his Pip-boy. Hiccup goes to the back of the garage but then meets with a few radroaches running through the garage. They notice Hiccup, and they go after him. Hiccup swings his baseball bat at the radroaches, killing a couple of them and not getting bitten.
After that attack, Hiccup sees an Atomic V-8 that seems better days.
"Hm, I wonder if I could fix that car up?" Hiccup thought. He leaves the garage to see the sun setting. "I should go back home."
Hiccup headed back home until he came across something moving near the forest. He pulled his pistol and moved closer to the noise to see a black dog getting trapped by a bear trap. Hiccup goes near the dog, but it growls at him.
"Woah boy calm down I'm going to hurt you," said Hiccup
He moved around the dog and found the release lever for the trap, and the dog got out of the trap looking at Hiccup for a moment with a puzzled look.
"Um you're welcome," said Hiccup
Hiccup walks away from the dog and continues his way back home, not noticing the dog following back where he goes right near the vault door.
"Why did you follow me?" said Hiccup
The dog barks at Hiccup
"Okay um do you want to come inside?"
The dog barks and comes to Hiccup.
"Well you don't look like a radiant dog so I guess it wouldn't hurt to begin you in."
The dog barks happily.
"Alright then." Hiccup opens the vault door, and the dog goes inside
