iers throws the Pokeball of his newly caught Inkay in the air. With him definitely being the Heir of the Spikemouth (since from what his Ma, and Pa told him that's where his Da wanted the Black Gym to be) he definitely needed a Dark Type team.
He smirks to himself, remembering what the Prophet News App reported. His Da..Sirius Black was free. He was proven innocent. No one in the Ancient and Nobel House of Black family believed it. His Pa told him of the spell that Aunt Lilu used, that when he and Ma were granted visiting rights they knew the truth..but no matter how many times they wanted to do a trial they were denied.
Piers blinks as Ron runs by him, Mothra still clinging to his back as the Bug Trainer tries to catch the Wimpod that was evading him. Piers looks to Neville who is now cuddling to his new Sentret that he named Dahlia. "How long has he been chasing after the Wimpod.."
"Uh..I think thirty minutes now..he's really determined," he whispers as he softly pets Dahila's fur making the Sentret chirp. They both look up as Ron holds up the Net Ball in his hands, "Yes! Yes I caught it!"
"That's great Ron!" Neville congrats Ron while Piers raises an eyebrow.
"Hope you don't mind me asking but why were you so focus on the Wimpod..there are many other Pokemon," he waves his hand to the Teddiursas that were poking out of the grass, to the Heracross that was sucking sap from the trees while Corviknights fly over them.
"You should understand," Ron groans seeing the hole in the knee of his pants, and dusts them off, "I'm the Heir of the Ancient and Nobel House of Weasley. I am the next Gym Leader,"
Piers blinks at this, "Wait I thought one of your brother's were the next gym leader..Bill was his name?,"
Ron shakes his head, "Well at first...but Bill works in the Expedition Society along with Gringotts so he decided not to..Charlie works as a Ranger in Oblivia while I know Percy wants to work in the Albion League and the twins want to open a Joke shop. Me.." he grips the Net Ball in his hand tightly, "I always wanted to be the Gym Leader. The first time I saw Dad fought a challenger was when I was five. That was when I decided what I wanted to be..lots of people think that Bug Types are weak..doesn't help with how Bug Catchers are,"
Both wince at the term Bug Catchers were the most annoying trainers you meet on any journey in any forest. Viridian Forest in Kanto, Ilex Forest in Johto, Petaburg Woods in Hoenn, Eterna Forest in Sinnoh, Santalune Fores in Kalos, Lush Jungle in Alola and Glimwood Tangle in their very own Galar. They were the best place to get actual training done when going on a journey, for you not only see many Pokemon but many trainers. The only bad thing was the Bug Catchers.
Bug Catchers were Trainers who have the brightest idea that because Bug Types were the fastest to evolve that they must be so powerful. They look up at Bugsey of Johto, Aaron of Sinoh, Burgh of Unova, Viola of Kalos and Arthur of Galar..they look at them and think if they can do it, training bug types couldn't be so hard.
Well they were very wrong. They have no idea how to train Pokemon and they get very frustrated. In fact their best goal is to stop any trainer going on a journey when said trainer goes trekking through the forest. They are also bad sports, whining that you somehow cheated since there was no way they could defeat their precious bug Pokemon.
"Yeah, I wanted to prove to everyone that just because we use Bug Type Pokemon doesn't mean that we're weak. I'm going to be the best Bug Trainer ever!"
"Guy!" Piers looks over as Raihan and Leon runs to them, the Hufflepuff keeping a hold of Leon's wrist to make sure he wouldn't get lost. The two pants as they ran over to the group, their eyes filled with horror.
"What's wrong?" Neville whimpers and Raihan shudders.
"You guys need to see for yourselves..its too disturbing to even explain.
Raihan was right..at the entrance of the Wild Area, led by a trail of dead Trubbish was a body. None of the first years recognized it. Hiding behind a boulder from the teacher, they all stare with horror in their eyes as their Head of House look over.
"Wasn't this the girl who competed in the last circuit last year," Snape mutters as he holds up the head revealing the gash that oozing purple gunk.
Prof. McGonagall nods her head, "Yes..she made it into the Final 16..so she was given access to Scepter Island's Wild Area..Severus please stop poking at the gash in her neck," she eyes her colleague in disgust.
Not showing any emotion he gently sets the head down, "Her death was quick and luckily pain less..seems she anger a bunch of these Trubbish.." he narrows his black eyes at the dead Pokemon and scoffs, "Stupid girl must have thought she could catch one,,even though it is their mating season.."
"Not exactly Severus," Prof. Flitwick interrupts as he gets up from examining the dead Trubbish, "These are baby Trubbish..their poison can't even kill,"
Prof. McGonagall's light green eyes widen at this and she grabs her Pokedex, "All students need to return to the entrance of the Wild Area...I repeat all students need to return to the entrance of the Wild Area," once done speaking into the speaker she grimaces, "For all the times for Albus to be gone.." she grumbles to herself before turning to Prof. Flitwick and Prof. Sprout, "Filus keep an eye out for any of the students who come through. Have the Prefects help you lead them to their Dormitories. Pomona find Quirrel, he was talking about knowing how to handle Garbodors." The Deputy Headmistress then turns to Snape and she blinks when the Potion Master.
"Let him go, Minerva.." Professor Flitwick pulls out a Dusk Ball which releases a Bastidon which huffs and stomps on the ground. Its yellow eyes staring at the entrance as the dark gray head shines with Iron Defense, "He can quickly check that place in case this is a plot.."
Prof. McGonagall nods her head as she releases her Espurr before quickly Biomerging to become Meowstic. Prof. Sprout on the other hand easily gets on top of the Tauros that bellows a cry before it trudges off.
"Come on.." Neville whispers, "We better get going.." he trembles with fear and Piers was about to stand up while he takes a deep breath. His heart thumps as his whole body trembles. Legs weak, they couldn't bear his weight anymore.
"Piers?!" Raihan grabs the black hair boy as he falls over, the blue eyes glowing a golden color..
In a clearing near a river he could see Harry and Granger crouched down, dirt and purple gunk covering their clothes. Aria was growling her own eyes glowing gold as rocks floated above her as she stood in front of Granger who was staring with wide eyes. Their Pokemon fainted as a large Garbodor stood in front of them glaring with hatred in their eyes as they raised their arm to squash the two first years.
Piers gasps, taking shuddering breaths before he pulls away from Raihan and begins to head deeper into the Wild Area pulling out his magenta Rotom Phone to pull up the map.
"Piers?! Where the bloody hell are you going?!" Ron whispers as he quickly follows the Black Heir along with Neville who was madly looking back to the two Professors standing guard. Raihan and Leon look at each other in confusion before Raihan grabs Leon and follows the three.
"To the closest stream, we need to find Granger and Aria," Ron and Neville look at each other. The look that Piers had on his face was familiar to them. One time during the Opening Ceremony Ball when they were eight Piers pushed Neville out of the way when Draco was going to dump a bucket of water with ice on him. Another time he warned Arthur of a herd of Rhyhorns were going to cause a stampede because some novice trainer was going to try and catch one..it happened the next day.
So when Piers Black said to do something, you have to do it. Or bad things would happen.
"But how will we get away, Professor McGongall can read our minds if she focus hard enough so soon she'll find us," Neville whispers but Leon shakes his head and releases Charmander.
"Not if we make a run for it," he looks at Charmander who nods his head before the fire lizard opens his mouth, a cloud of smoke begins to cover the area.
"I'm really starting to hate the Wild Area now," Aria thinks to herself as her aura rises up at her command. Hermione had grabbed onto her arm as they both hid from the enrage Garbodor. Aria could feel Nimbus trembling on her shoulder. Aria had to scrunched up her nose as the smell not only was terrible but it also burned. Its beady black eyes looked to the trial of dead Trubbish before it slouched slowly forward dragging its long arms onto the ground.
"It's heading to the school.." Hermione whispers in fear, "They're not very smart but they care for their young..it's going to follow the scent of the bodies..whoever did this is laid a trail straight back to Hogwarts,"
"We got to warn the Professors.." Aria whispers as flashes of what would happen if the Garbodor gets to the school. She remembers one League fight when a trainer brought out a Garbodor..she shudders as she remembers the screams of pain the opponent's Pokemon let out as the poison entered it's system.
Hermione blinks in shock but she nods her head. "We got to confuse it.." she whispers very fast that Aria almost didn't hear, "If we pulls it attention away then we can make a run for it,"
Aria nods her head and her eyes catch the sight of an almost dead tree. She looks to Nimbus, "Can you use a thundershock to take down that tree?" Nimbus looks over to the tree and nods his head. Red cheeks sparking he lets out a Thundershock that hits the dead tree in the center. All three of them wince at the loud noise as the tree falls but it does work in getting Garbodor's attention as it trudges towards the tree in confusion.
As soon as its back was turned Aria grabs Hermione's wrist and makes a run for it. Her eyes were still gold as her Aura was ready for her to command. She holds back the flinch as she hears the roar of anger and pain, "It spotted us!" Hermione cries out and Aria turns back .
Garbodor cries out as a glowing purple orb forms in its mouth before being launched into the air. Spiraling, purple streams of energy were released from the top of the orb. Aria tries to run faster as the orb then explodes, forming into multiple smaller orbs. Hermione pulls her back just in time as the orbs sink into the ground. Aria grimaces as the ground slowly glows purple as it was corrupted by Toxic Spikes.
"We're blocked!" Hermione whispers as she looks around for a place to escape, but the whole ground towards Hogwarts was glowing purple, "If we charge forward, we'll be poison..and our Pokemon can't fight..Garbodor is too powerful.."
"We just have to hide until the Professor's come..they must know about the Garbodor.." Aria says as she turns towards the charging Pokemon.
"But where would we hide?" Hermione asks as Aria raises her hands. Her amber eyes widen as blue light flickers off Aria's hands.
"Dail Yn Cwympo Ac Yn Gorchuddio," Aria whispers out the spell and her Aura reacted. The leaves on the many trees surrounding them tremble before flying off the branches and covering them. Aria trembles a bit as she hears the roar of anger and feels the quakes as the Garbodor smashes at the ground.
"You're a Sorceress!" Hermione cries out in awe.
"Witch, actually," Aria mumbles without hesitation. Lyn had made sure that she knew the difference. Sorcerers and Sorceresses are those who were taught how to use magic with their Aura, while Warlocks and Witches were those who were born with the ability to already use magic without being taught. She lets Hedwig out and turns to Hermione, "Ok here's the plan. We're going to keep cover in these leaves..if Garbodor gets too close to us I'll have Hedwig use Screech..Nimbus" she turns to the Pikachu, "Can you use Thundershock..I know we haven't really bonded yet" at his nod she sighs, "If you see an opportunity use it..might slow him down if we could Paralyze it,"
Hermione nods her head, "The plan should work.." she then meeps as Aria pulls on her arm, getting her away just in time so she wouldn't get smashed. Hedwig flies up and Screeches, making Garbodor scream in pain.
Up on a cliff, light purple eyes watch this behind a skull shape mask. Messy black hair rustles when the head tilts, "Now this is interesting..other than Lady Dragoon we didn't know there was another Aura User…" he pulls at the end of his sleeve, "What to do..I don't know..I was warn what to do in a position of fighting another Aura User," he then looks up as his shadow moves and morphs as purple shadow rises from it.
Red eyes gleam as the purple smoke forms around an black orb. Two sharp fangs glisten from a wide smiling pink mouth. The boy's body stops trembling as a sweet scent fills the air, "Your right Ragnarok..we still have the upper hand," raising his hands a purplish black aura rises from them.
"Don't worry Garbodor..you will be much stronger once you Cau Eich Calon,"
The plan was working well..anytime Garbodor would get too close, Hedwig would use Screech and Nimbus would thundershock it. Hermione let out Crookshanks to Scratch and Growl at it.
But everything went wrong as soon as Aria felt a terrible pain in her chest. It felt like she was being stabbed with a million needles. Hermione grabs her before she could fall down but Aria looks up as a dark purplish black Aura fills her vision. A huge waves of that same aura pushes against them, blowing away their cover of leaves. Both girls cover their ears as their Pokemon cry out in pain. Whatever this move was, it was super effective as all three of them fainted. With horror filling her stomach Aria looks up and gasps at the sight of Garbodor. Its beady black eyes were now glowing red, filled with pure hatred and anger.
Trying to protect themselves, Aria uses her Aura to make the rocks around them float and was about to send them into Garbodor's eyes when a group of leaves did it instead. Looking behind them, Leon was charging ahead followed by Raihan, Piers, Ron and Neville. On Leon's shoulder was a small plantlike Pokemon with large dark pink eyes. Bunches of leaves surrounded its head with a particularly large tuft in front, slightly hanging in its face.
"Zigzagoon uses Snarl! Inkay uses Confuse Ray!" Piers shout anger in his blue eyes. The two Dark Types let their attacks. The Snarl distracted Garbodor enough for the Confuse Ray to hit it.
Aria then flinches as the arua turns into a reddish black Aura and the Garbodor begins to rampage. It knocked down trees, smashing boulders even hitting itself. With a wave of her hand she floats the boulders above the toxic spike ground before returning Hedwig and Nimbus. She turns to Hermione who does the same, "On the boulders now!"
Hermione didn't argue, quickly scrambling up on top of it but when she turned, she screamed out, "Aria!"
Aria turns just in time for Garbodor to grab her by the leg. Leon gasps, "Let go of her!" he roars as Charmander and Fomantis charge forward. Ember and Razor leaves hit the Garbodor but it just made it angry. Aria groans as she hangs upside down being madly swung around.
"Hey!" Ron cries, "Pea Brain!" He grabs one of the branches and throws it at its head. Garbodor didn't seem to notice it but it heard the yell and paused again, turning its red eyes towards Ron, giving Neville enough time to run around it. While Raihan grabs some rocks and Trapinch throws Sand-Attack to lower its Accuracy.
"Trevor Mud-Slap to the eyes! Dahlia Helping Hand!" Aria watches as the Sentrent glows when it claps her hands, the glow glides over to Trevor. With a roar it slaps up mud into the eyes of Garbodor. With it blinded by mud and sand it waves its arm around madly, Aria meeps as she curls up just in time before she gets hit.
Leon then did something very brave..and very stupid. Taking a running leap he jumps and manges to wrap his arms around Garbodor's neck before climbing up its shoulder. With a growl he pulls at the tufts on top of its body. While Garbodor couldn't feel Leon sitting on it's body it could feel the painful pulls. Aria and Leon scream as Garbodor madly shakes.
"Do something!" Aria cries ducking up just barely missing Garbodor's arm again. Twisting and flaid, both First Years hanging on to dear life.
Luckily at that moment..someone did do something.
"Balinor!" Aria turns to see Lyn, her own blue eyes glowing gold with anger and fierce protection in them. Her Mudstale snorts in anger beside her, "Use High Horsepower!" Snorting in agreement Balinor charges with a fierce orange glow surrounding his body. He tackles Garbodor in the stomach which cries out in pain letting go of Aria and making Leon fly off. But before the two could crash down Lyn raises her hands and the two fall was slowed down.
Taking a shuddering breath, Aria watches as Lyn pulls out a flute. It was green and carved with vine. "What is she doing with a flute," Leon asks but all seven watch as Lyn places her lips and blow. At the first sound of the note being played Garbodor shudders, the body beginning to stray. Aria watches as the mad aura softly begins to glow green. The purple black aura tries to fight but the more Lyn played the more the green took over. It didn't take long before Garbodor fell flat on its face, with a thud that made the whole ground quake.
Aria got to her feet, shaking and trembling before she helped Leon. Lyn sets the flute down but they all watch it fade away as if it was never there..Hermione gulps before turning to Lyn, "Is..is it dead?" she whispers with fear in her amber eyes.
"No..its just knocked out," Lyn smiles gently as her golden eyes turn back to the kind blue that the others knew of, "That was a Time Flute, a very rare and incredible item that quickly opens the heart of any Pokemon,"
"Open..opens the heart," Ron trembles clutching Mothra in his arms, "You mean..you can't mean that was a Shadow Pokemon?!"
"Unfortunately it was," Lyn looks up which makes them all look up to see the skull wearing boy. Hermione gasps.
"That's the person who was laying the trial of Trubbish!" Hermione looks at Aria and Aria nods her head in agreement. Green eyes caught the sight of purple eyes before the boy fades into the shadows.
Loud footsteps made all seven of them look up. None of them hadn't realized what a racket they had been making but of course, someone must have heard the roars. A moment later, Professor McGonagall carrying her Espurr was running to them followed by Professor Snape who was limping with Professor Quirrel bringing up the rear.
While Quirrel whimpers in fear at one look of the fainted Garbodor, Professor McGongall clutches a hand to her chest, "Oh Arceus.." she then turns to Aria who flinches at the anger and fear in her eyes, "Explains yourselves! What in the names of the Gods were you thinking!" Aria trembles at the cold fury in her voice but was confused on why she was angry at her, "You're lucky you weren't killed! Why aren't you in your Dormitories?!"
"Professor!" Hermione yells out getting the Head of Gryffindor's attention, "Me and Aria caught sight of the person laying the trail of Trubbish..over there," she says this in a shakily and trembling voice while pointing to the stream, "Over there..by the stream..when your announcement came up..we were about to head out..but the Garbodor was already here...we tried to run..but it used Toxic our path.." she crosses her arms tears streaming down her eyes, "Aria had Hedwig use Screech and her Pikachu use Thundershock as we try to hid..but it soon made our Pokemon faint..it was about to attack us when Leon and the others came. Leon had his Charmander use Smokescreen to cover us but the Garbodor grew more angry..if Lady Dragoon didn't come in time..I think Aria and Leon would be dead,"
Aria holds back the sigh of relief when Hermione didn't mention her or Lyn's use of magic but she was still speechless. Even though they knew Hermione for only a short time everyone knew she was the last person to break any sort of rule but here she was lying to Professor McGongall about how Garbodor was defeated. It..it made Aria feel a sort of warmth in her.
Professor McGonagall takes a deep breath but at that moment Lyn speaks up, "I found it funny that you're asking why they are here and not asking if they are ok or need medical attention," she glares at McGonagall who flinches and takes a step back. Professor Snape snorts before walking over to the two girls and kneels in front of Hermione while his Salazzle gently rumbles, releasing a sweet scent that begins to calm all seven of them down.
"And you told me to not think of Miss Potter as her father," he turns his gaze to McGonagal who looks down. After checking all of them over Snape nods his head before turning to Lyn, "They're all fine..just adrenaline pumping into them..they should be fine to return to their Dorms,"
And with that they were order to return to the Castle and into their Dorms. Hermione wipes at her eyes and takes a deep breath before she turns to Aria, "So..a Witch?" the other turned to her with confusion in her eyes.
Aria grips Hedwig's Pokeball tightly in her hands, "Yeah..I was born with the power to use Aura to make spells naturally. Lyn is training me to be better but I only know a few…" she looks down hiding the fear in her eyes at the thought of losing her friends because they might think she was a freak. But she looks up when Raihan wraps an arm around her shoulder.
"That's so cool! I mean sure anybody with a strong Aura could learn to use magic but the fact that you can do it naturally..that's amazing Ari!" Arai blinks and looks at the others when they agree with Raihan.
"Still..I can't believe it..a Shadow Pokemon?!" Ron whispers with fear in his eyes, "There hasn't been any since the war with Grindelwald.."
"What is a Shadow Pokemon?" Aria asks with confusion.
"A Pokemon with its heart close..they were controlled by Team Cipher in the Orre Region..they have no problem attacking humans which normally only Wild Pokeomn did..but still they haven't been seen in years.."
But soon they split up, Aria and Piers heading to the Slytherin dorm but Aria had a lot on her mind. "I almost died..Hedwig and Nimbus almost died...Hermione almost died..Leon almost died," she takes a shuddering breath but her eyes glow golden when she gets back into her room, ignoring the looks from her Housemates.
"That can't ever happen again.." she vows as she clutches Hedwig's and Nimbus' Pokeballs in her hand, "That won't happen again..we'll get stronger together..we'll be better,"
Some things can't stay the same after such an event..and facing a Shadow Garbodor was one of them.
