Penelope opened the door to Clearwater & Patil at 9:59.

Draco hurried inside and asked, "Did you open up just for me?"

"This is a monumental life event." Penelope led Draco back to her office. "I figure we should use this time to preempt any second thoughts you may have come tomorrow night."

Draco sat down in the familiar chair and shrugged out of his coat. He was getting married the next day. There were so many emotions that he didn't know how to process them. Excitement, anxiety, mild dread that Hermione would find a reason to say no …

"Can I be honest?"

"Of course."

Draco admitted, "I feel fine. In fact, I am so fine, that I am worried I am missing something. It is too good, too peaceful."

Penelope grinned.

"You're happy."

"Yes," Draco agreed, "I suppose I am. Is this what it feels like?"

"It is, and it is unfamiliar so it seems like you're doubting it."

"It feels a bit strange. Our wedding day, our union was always so far in the future. This partnership has been developing over, what, nearly three years now? Hell, we reconnected right out there," he nodded toward the door, "in your lobby. Now that it's here, we are really doing it, I feel like I should be in a certain headspace. I should know what happiness feels like."

"I don't believe that is accurate."

"No?"

"I think you are at a point in recovery where you are no longer afraid to experience new emotions. I think you look at your life with Hermione Granger and see a future that makes you happy. That is normal, Draco, that is how life can work. Not necessarily how it must work, but for many people getting married is a happy moment. The beginning of continued happiness, even."

"I like her." Draco blushed. "I love her, of course, but she is also my friend. Not my best friend, but we're friends in addition to being partners. I keep looking for something to doubt, something to go wrong, but it never does. We argue, but talk through it. We can be insecure, but we work through it. She sees who I am and it works."

"You communicate well with each other."

"Yes."

Penelope asked, "Have you finished your vows?"

"I have. It is never difficult for me to tell Hermione how I feel about her. The only difficult part is figuring out what our audience needs to hear because this isn't for either of us, really. It is for them, and for the rest of the world. They need to see Hermione has accepted me, and I need to show them why I love her. Because I do love her and I can see in most peoples' eyes that they doubt it. I want to prove to everyone that this is real."

"There will always be skeptics."

"I know."

"Are you secure enough in your love for Hermione that if you can't prove it to the world, you will still be happy?"

"Yes," Draco replied without hesitation. "Because I always wanted to have children, but I was willing to give that up for her. I would end the Malfoy line to marry her. Then she said I helped her realize why she wants to be a mother. We keep making each other better and the more we learn about each other, the more we realize we want the same things."

"And she makes you happy."

"Yes," Draco agreed, "she makes me happy."

"I want you to think back to the first day you sat in that chair."

Good God, that was not a pleasant experience. Draco closed his eyes and remembered that bleak February day. He was so desperate, as close to death as he'd ever been. Which was saying quite a bit, all things considered. Nobody knew what was wrong with him. Not even Draco knew, and he thought he was alone.

"I didn't know this disease had a name." Draco opened his eyes and said, "Hell, I didn't know it was a disease, I simply thought it was a part of me. Another part that had gone wrong."

Penelope wondered aloud, "You told me that you liked being hungry. Why was that?"

"I liked being hungry because it was control over the emptiness. My life was empty, my heart was nearly empty, so my stomach should have been as well. All I wanted was balance."

"Knowing that, sitting here right now, what do you wish that version of you had known?"

Draco took a slow, deep breath in through his nose and exhaled through his mouth. Again. What had he learned through this process?

"I needed to understand that what I saw in the mirror wasn't real. If I understood that I needed to look elsewhere for who I am, perhaps it would have been easier to move forward instead of holding myself back based on what I believed I was."

"That is an insightful answer."

"Thank you."

"How do you believe your marriage to Hermione will change your path toward recovery?"

"Truthfully?"

Penelope laughed and replied, "Over the past three years we've been doing this, I would say honesty has been a primary feature."

Draco leaned back in the chair and admitted, "I think it will make things more difficult."

"Hmm. Why?"

"Because Hermione and I are both at this nebulous stage of recovery where we are getting better, but each of us still has a mile or two to go. Add on the pressure of being married, trying for a child, and Hermione's day school project the Wizengamot will work to destroy the moment they realize there is Muggle curriculum … Being married will put more pressure on our emotional connection. I think it is the one thing that hasn't suffered through all this; I loved her even at my lowest point. Now we have to hope it is strong enough."

"Do you believe it is?"

"Oh," Draco grinned, "I know it is. I will be married to this woman for as long as she will have me. Ten days, ten decades, I'd live to be a hundred and thirty if she asked me to."

"Somehow," Penelope teased, "I don't doubt it."

"It is all on Hermione to choose how this goes. She ended one marriage already, and if she hit me again I would walk away. I'd have to. But I know she has changed irrevocably and will not hurt me the way she did. I only worry she will tire of me thirty years from now, but even that seems unlikely."

"Do you believe you will be happy with her thirty years from now?"

"Yes."

Draco went home afterward and snuck into his mother's study where they had hidden his dress robe for the ceremony. Blaise and Bastien each had their own set of deep blue robes, but Draco had found the perfect designer for his.

The Dark Lord had always worn black. He was a true creature of darkness that swallowed Draco whole and spat him out as a different person. Draco's father tended to wear dark colours, while everything and everyone around the Dark Lord was always draped in black.

Draco trailed the tips of his fingers down the seam of one sleeve. It was a gorgeous white coat, patterned with delicate silver constellations. The garment buttoned to his waist then fanned out a bit, pooling into a short train at the back. It was lined in soft silver fabric to match the silver trousers and loafers. He would be perfectly happy to blend into the snow; it was far better than blending into the darkness as his family was wont to do.

He smiled to himself and thought, This is really happening. I did it. I made it. Because he had made it far past the point he ever thought possible. He wasn't fully recovered, but he was healing. He was moving forward in life, in love, and even in his own body. One foot in front of the other, every day, one day at a time.

"You will outshine the Granger girl."

Draco turned to face his mother and said, "Not possible."

"Your father and I are pleased to see you so happy."

"I never knew I wanted her because I was never allowed to want her. The way you raised me, she could only be seen as an enemy. Now I get to see her for who she is, and I hope she can say the same of me."

"I think we all are seeing you for the first time, my son." Narcissa smiled sadly then added, "Your father and I included."

"Perhaps, but I believe this is where my life was always meant to lead."

"Perhaps."

"Do you doubt my choice?"

"I wish you had given yourselves more time together. More time for the Granger girl to prove she will not become violent again."

Draco took a deep breath in, then let it out slowly. His mother was right to have doubts. Hell, everyone was right to; they couldn't see what he had seen in Hermione.

"To all of you, it must be a bit strange, us hopping into this so quickly after the engagement. Hermione has forgiven me the years of pain I caused her, and I forgave her all the pain she caused me. We have learned how to treat each other properly, something neither of us quite understood before. It took work, and I did not ask her to marry me until I was certain we were ready to move forward together. I know her heart, mum. I do not need any more proof than what she has given me."

"I believe you." Narcissa took Draco's hand in her own and said, "I trust your judgement. Besides, you will always be the prettiest person in a room."

Draco laughed.

"Is that the reason you wanted me to be with Gabby? So I would have a girlfriend who was prettier than me?"

"You finally figured it out," teased Narcissa. "Truthfully, Hermione Granger has a difficult life ahead. People who change the world rarely end up happy at the end, and I know you will do everything you can to make her happy. Just as she will do all she can to give you the family you want. My fear is that you will do so much for each other that you forget about yourselves in the process."

"I always have my family to put things in perspective. I have been the centre of this family longer than I even realized, mother, and it has led me here. To this." He gestured to his dress robe and repeated, "To this. Hermione and I are balanced."

"I believe you."

"Does father still approve?"

"Of course!" Narcissa rolled her eyes. "He and Abigail are insufferable, complaining about how Jack and I spend so much time together. After more than thirty years of your father and his macabre friends, I am simply happy to have found a true friend of my own. Someone who makes me laugh and has no true connection to the way the world was before. Besides, Abigail took Lucius shopping last week. You will not believe the number of Galleons that man spent in Muggle London."

Perhaps the rest of Draco's family was healing, too.

.oOo.

"Draco?"

He blinked himself awake and grumbled,

"Hmm?"

"We're getting married today."

He smiled into the darkness, as the sun hadn't even begun to rise. Draco rolled onto his side and pulled Hermione close. He pressed their foreheads together and said,

"Yes, we are."

"I want it over with. I want to be married to you, Draco Malfoy. I want to be your partner in everything, and I want it right now."

Draco smiled and kissed her cheek before rolling back onto his pillow.

"I love how impatient you are."

"Promise me something?"

"Anything."

"Promise me you aren't wearing a dress."

"I am not wearing a dress."

"Or a skirt."

"I promise that I will not be wearing a skirt."

"But you will be wearing clothes?"

"Yes, Hermione, I will be wearing clothes."

"Good, then." She sighed. "There were so many years I never thought I would have a family."

"For half my life, Hermione, I thought I'd be dead by now. To say this exceeds expectations is a massive understatement."

She took his hand under the covers and twined their fingers together.

"You and me, Malfoy."

"Always you and me, Granger."

.oOo.

Draco sat on the arm of a chair in his study as Blaise and Bastien leaned against the edge of the desk.

The wedding preparation was incredibly smooth. Gabriel had done Draco's hair, pulled it back in a half-up style that made it look like he'd put in effort but ensured his hair wasn't the focus. Blaise and Bastien had done a double-take once Draco put on his coat. Blaise said,

"When we were together and I said that I loved you, this was the man I saw. I am happy Hermione has pulled it out of you, and that the world will get to see what I have always seen."

Bastien nodded.

"Yeah, what he said."

Draco grinned. Everything was going well. Pansy had stayed awhile before taking her seat. Potter came in to say hello, and he brought Weasley. That conversation went as well as it could have. Peter had brought Naevia and Scarlett up for awhile as well. Gabrielle revealed that she and Peter had finally been out on a date, then date number two, and Peter would spend the holiday with Gabrielle in France while Naevia would visit family in Cameroon.

The third date.

The big date.

Gabrielle could not stop smiling. Peter looked at Gabrielle like she had hung the stars in the sky. Draco's parents stopped by, and Dean came by a short while later to snog Blaise then tell Draco how incredible Hermione looked.

Less than ten minutes before the wedding was set to begin, Sebastien went through the final checklist. Draco thought he looked adorable in his little suit. Naevia wore a burgundy dress to match, while Scarlett was in her own little green suit. Both of them were already seated, as were Draco's parents. They'd left Sebastien to do the final run-through on his own, standing there and squinting at his parchment.

"Practice vows?"

Draco replied, "Done."

"First chair?"

Blaise answered, "Here."

"Second chair?"

"Here," said Bastien.

"Dress robes."

Draco replied, "Check, check, and check."

"Wedding ring?"

"I gave it to you, Seb, remember?"

Sebastien stuffed his hand in one pocket, stuffed his hand in the other, then dropped the parchment. His eyes went wide as he said,

"I gave it to Scarlett!"

Draco's heart skipped a beat.

"Where did she put it?"

"On the desk!"

Blaise and Bastien rifled through drawers as Draco scanned the top of the desk.

"It's not here, Seb! Please tell me you did not lose Hermione's wedding ring!"

"No!" Sebastien shouted back. "Scarlett lost it!"

"Oh, God." Draco thought he might faint. "Oh, Merlin, for fuck's sake I am going to throw myself off the bloody roof! What part of my brain thought giving the ring to an eight-year-old was a good idea?!"

"I'm s-sorry!" Sebastien half-shouted, half-sobbed. "I'll find it!"

"No." Draco turned to face Sebastien, got down on the floor, cross-legged, and insisted, "This is not your fault. I need you to think very, very hard. Who picked up the ring after Scarlett put it on the desk?"

"Five minutes, Draco!" shouted Bastien.

"I know!" he hissed back. "I know, I know, we're going to find it."

Sebastien squeezed his eyes shut and scrunched his nose. He shook his head and said,

"Aunty Cissa cleaned it, but she put it back." He began to cry, "I don't know what happened."

"Yes, you do." Draco placed one hand on Sebastien's shoulder and insisted, "You know everything about this wedding. You know where the ring is, so think about it and tell us what you saw."

Sebastien wiped his eyes and nodded.

"Okay. Aunty Cissa put it back on top of the parchments, then … Uncle Bastien sat on the desk."

Bastien raised an eyebrow and asked, "Did I knock it off?" He immediately dropped to the floor and searched beneath the desk but came up empty. "Bollocks."

"What next?"

"Mr. Jordan picked parchment off the desk and had you sign them."

"That would be the marriage contract, Seb. What next?"

"I …" He squeezed his eyes shut again. "You signed it in the chair—"

Blaise rushed over to the chair to stuff his hand between the cushion and the side. After about twelve agonizing seconds, he pulled out Hermione's ring and held it up for everyone to see. Draco's entire body relaxed and he grumbled,

"Thank God."

Sebastien fell to the floor and placed one hand dramatically against his forehead.

"Aunty Cissa would've been so angry at me."

"Right," Draco laughed, "Aunty Cissa would've been angry and we can't have that."

"I almost ruined Hermione's wedding!"

Bastien snickered, "Hermione's wedding. I'm proud of you Seb. My name shall live on well."

"It's 6:02," said Blaise, "so Draco is officially late to his own wedding."

Draco glanced up at him and replied, "Were you expecting anything less?"

Blaise shook his head and grinned.

"Run?"

Draco stood up and scooped Sebastien onto his shoulder. He glanced at Blaise, then Bastien, and said,

"Run."

The four of them ran out of the study and downstairs as quickly as they could. They burst through the doors to the manor gardens, robes billowing out behind them. Blaise huffed out a frustrated,

"Slow down! Cazzo! Some of us don't run three bloody miles a day!"

Draco laughed but didn't have the breath to shout anything back. Then again, he did love a good dramatic entrance. The ceremony would take place at the fountain near where Draco and Hermione had their first date. About fifty guests had been invited, plus a photographer and, of course, Lee Jordan to officiate. It was beautiful, really, with a warming bubble over all the chairs to ensure no one would suffer the winter chill.

The moment the four of them stepped onto the aisle, everyone turned back to look their way. The sun had nearly set and the floating candles gave everything a dreamlike glow. Draco saw Hermione standing at the centre of the dais, hands clasped in front of her and an amused smile making its way across her features. Draco rushed to the front and placed Sebastien in the front row next to Tracey. Blaise took his place then Bastien behind him, as Draco looked up at Hermione and laughed. She grinned and said,

"You know, I think this is perfect."

Draco stepped onto the dais and asked, "Why is that?"

"Because you are the one in white, coming down the aisle to me."

Draco took a step back to give Hermione the once-over. She looked gorgeous in an emerald green velvet gown with long sleeves, and it hugged her in all the right places. She had pulled her curls back into an elegant bun and decorated it with snowflake pins. Draco shook his head and said,

"You look stunning."

"I thought you would bring the sparkle," she teased. "I wasn't wrong."

"Yes, yes," Lee Jordan interrupted, "you both look amazing. Do you want to get married, now?"

"Eh," Hermione teased, "I mean, we're all here. Might as well."

"If we must," added Draco.

"Good, then." Lee Jordan looked at each of them then said, "You know, I really am happy for you two." Before Draco could so much as thank him, LJ's voice rang throughout the gardens. "Good evening!"

Draco took Hermione's hands in his and smiled down at her. He mouthed,

Is this really happening?

Hermione nodded and whispered, "Finally."

"We are here today to join Draco Lucius Malfoy and Hermione Jean Granger in marriage. My first year at Hogwarts, a couple months in, right before the first Quidditch match of the season, Headmaster Dumbledore called me into his office. I was scared out of my pants, being called in at eleven years old. I hadn't even memorized my schedule yet. I sat down at his desk and he told me, 'Mr. Jordan, everyone has something special about them. Something they can give the world. Now, not everyone can find it in themselves and spend their whole lives searching. You have the gift of narration, Mr. Jordan. Anyone can create a story, but few have the proper voice to tell it. Your destiny is to tell the world what is happening, what has happened, and what will happen.'"

LJ scrunched his nose a bit, trying to force back tears. Draco was surprised, he hadn't expected the ceremony to be so personal for LJ.

"I will tell you this marriage is happening, despite all the pain that has happened, with so much love and happiness still to come from this union. It is my honour to officiate this ceremony, unconventional as it may be. We will begin with the benison of the rings." Lee Jordan turned his attention to Sebastien in the front row and asked, "Do we have the rings?"

Sebastien nodded and stood up from his chair. Naevia and Scarlett followed him to the front of the dais, and LJ stepped down to be closer. Seb had one ring in each hand and held them up for LJ to see.

"I didn't lose them!"

"Good job." Lee Jordan patted Sebastien on the shoulder. "Do you know what comes next?"

Seb shook his head.

"I want you to hold the rings in your hands, and hold them tight."

Sebastien pressed his hands together.

"Fantastic job. Now, I want you to close your eyes and think of your happiest memory. The very, very happiest you've ever been."

Sebastien nodded and closed his eyes. He thought for a moment then asked,

"What do I do now?"

"Open your eyes and hand them to Naevia."

Sebastien nodded and Naevia held out her hands. She did the same thing, then handed the rings to Scarlett, who took a very long time. LJ frowned and asked,

"Are you alright?"

Scarlett nodded without opening her eyes.

"I want a lot of happy memories so Uncle Draco can be happy forever."

Draco's heart melted. He hopped off the dais and pulled Scarlett into a tight hug.

"I am always going to be happy with you around," he said. "I promise."

"Okay." Scarlett smiled and handed the rings back to LJ. "The rings are happy now."

Draco and LJ made their way back up to the dais. As Lee Jordan distributed the rings to each of the first chairs, Hermione whispered,

"I am pretty happy, too."

"And now," LJ's voice boomed, "it is time for Draco and Hermione to recite their vows. Hermione will go first."

She smiled at Draco and shook her head.

"I can't believe this is real. I have never been able to explain why I feel for you the way I do. I know it is strange to people, the idea of you and me. It was odd to me at first, as well. You are not the boy you were at school, and I am not the girl desperate to prove my value in a world that never really wanted me. On our first date, I told you I struggled with getting people to listen to my proposals. You looked at me and said, 'Remind them you are Hermione Granger and that should be enough.' I think that is what I love about you, Draco Malfoy. You always see me as enough. I never have to prove anything to you. I never have to say I love you for you to know it's true. I never have to do my hair for you to think it's pretty. I never have to remind you of where I want my life to go, because you are always next to me asking, 'How do you plan to get there and what can I do to help?'"

Hermione squeezed Draco's hands, and everything else faded away. There was no audience, not really. These were the same things they told each other over and over again, distilled into one precious moment.

"I always knew what I wanted my career to be, but it was not until I fell in love with you that I realized who I want to be. I can be Minister for Magic, but that is only a title. It took me nearly thirty years to figure out the sort of family I want and the sort of woman I want to be. The only thing I have to do is look at you and I see all of it. My whole heart, my whole world I see through you, and that is the love I never knew I wanted. So, Draco Malfoy, I promise to spend the rest of my life as part of your family. I promise to grow with you and heal with you, because that is something we have always seemed to do better together than apart. Most importantly, I promise to always be honest with you about what I want and what I need. I love you more than I have words to say, and …" Hermione shrugged. "All the power I have, I would give it up if that was what it took to keep you safe. I want a life with you more than I have wanted anything, and with you I don't have to choose. Thank you for not making me choose."

Draco kissed Hermione softly on the cheek.

"If there is anything I know for sure, it's that having both is much more fun than having only one."

Hermione giggled and smiled so hard her eyes crinkled at the corners.

"I walked into that, didn't I?

"Yes, you did."

"Right, Draco," Lee Jordan said, "it's your turn."

"I suppose it is." He twined his fingers with Hermione's and said, "I don't know how to put words to what the past three years have meant to me. I was a broken man for a long time, and I don't know if I would have been able to pull myself back together without your friendship. Yes, I love you, but the depth of it began with our friendship. I trusted you because you gave me a safe place to be, and you became a confidant. You became part of my family without even trying, you simply showed up week after week."

Draco saw the truth of it in Hermione's eyes. She would continue to show up every day for decades to come. He glanced over to see the twins huddled together, Seb holding Naevia's left hand with his right.

"I fell in love with you the day you let me hide away in your house because I needed someone to watch over me as I began to break apart. Power can be terrifying; I lived in that darkness before but I don't see that in you. I see nothing but happiness and honesty and so, so much laughter. Hermione Granger, marrying you is the easiest decision of my life. Easier than deciding what to eat for dinner or finding a gift to get you for Christmas. You will do great things, things to change the world, and I promise to always be here for you to come home to. We are here, getting married at Malfoy Manor because this is my legacy. This house has stood for well over six centuries because it has an unshakeable foundation, and as you build your career I promise to be just as strong and steady as this house has been for my family.

"I promise to spend the rest of our lives as your partner, your confidant, and your friend. I promise to help you live a life of happiness in the world you worked so tirelessly to save. Before we started dating I made you a promise, and I wish to add to it now."

Draco took a deep breath and tightened his hold on Hermione's hands.

"No matter how far apart life pushes us, Hermione Granger, I will always come back to you. You see the world through me, but I see the world as it can be because of you. I look at you and see the future. It is the greatest honour of my life to become your husband."

"You two," said Lee Jordan, "have set the bar far too high for the other couples I marry. Now, it is time to exchange rings. Ginny, if you will give Hermione Draco's ring …"

Ginny grinned and nudged Hermione's shoulder as she stepped forward to hand over the ring. She whispered something in Hermione's ear that caused her to blush. Draco smiled, knowing Hermione could still get flustered like that. Lee Jordan said,

"Repeat after me. Tonight, I take my place as your partner."

Hermione took a deep breath and took Draco's left hand in her own.

"Tonight, Draco Malfoy, I take my place as your partner."

May our relationship be blessed with many years of love and respect.

"May our relationship be blessed with many years of love and respect."

This is an annual night of celebration, and I will celebrate our love every day. Each morning we begin together will lead to an even better tomorrow.

"This is an annual night of celebration, and I will celebrate our love every day. Each morning we begin together will lead to an even better tomorrow."

You have both my everlasting friendship and the promise of all my tomorrows.

"You have both my everlasting friendship and the promise of all my tomorrows." Hermione slid the ring onto Draco's finger and nodded to herself. "I know I expected this to feel like any other day because I love you exactly the same as I did before you ran down the aisle … But this is real. It's different and it is right."

"It is." Draco's heart was so full that all he could say was, "This is exactly what I lived for."

"God, don't say that!" Hermione huffed and gently patted the area under her eyes with her fingertips. "I am going to cry. Go ahead," she told LJ, "get him to do it before I sob off my makeup."

Lee Jordan laughed then asked Draco, "Are you ready?"

"As ever."

"Blaise?"

Blaise stepped forward, patted Draco on the shoulder, and handed Draco the wedding ring. He whispered in Draco's ear,

"You said you wanted the sort of love I have with Dean, but I think you found something better. You found the love that is right for you."

Draco nodded to him and mouthed, Thank you. Draco took Hermione's left hand in his and repeated the vows.

"Tonight, Hermione Granger, I take my place as your partner. May our relationship be blessed with many years of love and respect. This is an annual night of celebration, and I will celebrate our love every day. Each morning we begin together will only lead to a better tomorrow. You have both my everlasting friendship and the promise of all my tomorrows."

He placed the ring on Hermione's finger and it felt like catching the Snitch to win a match. It was the final piece of a puzzle sliding into place. That moment was what every bit of his life had led up to. He was about to marry the most powerful, fantastic woman on the planet and it felt right.

"There is a certain power contained in these spoken words," LJ said. "The promises Draco and Hermione have made today are eternal. If these two have proven anything, it is that love can be found in the darkest or most unexpected places; all you have to do is look. Now, as is tradition, each of them has been given a candle containing Gilbrathian Fire. It is an inextinguishable flame representing the promise of eternity together. These candles will remain lit as long as their love remains true."

The candles were the same pure white Draco saw in each of his parents' candles. Each had an oak tree delicately carved into either side of the wax with the words, "My future is our future" underneath. Draco accepted his candle from Bastien just as Hermione accepted hers from Theo. He squeezed Hermione's shoulder for a moment, and Draco saw the gesture for what it was. Theo was so truly proud of Hermione.

Draco offered Hermione the candle and the flame appeared the moment it touched her fingertips. When Hermione handed Draco his candle, it lit and Draco's heart did a little flip. This is real. He couldn't keep the smile off his face as he was seconds away from marrying the love of his life. He handed the candle to Blaise and took Hermione's hands as Lee Jordan asked her the question.

"Hermione, do you take Draco to be your husband?"

"I do."

Draco pumped his fist and muttered, "Yes!"

Hermione laughed. LJ asked,

"Draco, do you take Hermione to be your wife?"

"I do, I absolutely do."

"Then I now pronounce you joined together in magical matrimony. You may kiss."

Hermione jumped up, threw her arms around Draco's neck, and snogged him within an inch of his life. He caught her against his chest and kissed her back until he couldn't breathe. He placed Hermione back on the ground and rested his hands on her waist. With his eyes full of happy tears, he said,

"You and me, Granger."

Hermione wiped away one of his tears with the pad of her finger and relaxed in his arms.

"Always you and me, Malfoy."
