It was a cloudless day in Jasper, a small-town located in the desert of Nevada, the local high school almost finished for the day. All students eagerly awaited for the bell to dismiss them for not only the day but week, quickly filing out to retrieve personal belongings from their lockers before leaving. Rushing to get the keys to his motorcycle, a sixteen-year-old possessing dark hair and blue eyes named Jack Darby shut his locker before turning to head out.
"Hey there Jackie-boy"
Not even surprised this was happening, Jack turned to face Vince, a taller redhead who seemed to have a vendetta against him. His personal bully had two buddies on either side making escape impossible. Usually this meant Jack would have to endure being humiliated in front of his peers but a stealthily approaching individual caused a grin to spread across his face.
"What's so funny Darby?" Snarled Vince, too distracted to pay attention to his surroundings otherwise he would've heard the gasps from his cronies as they were silently pushed aside one by one. All of them promptly left when they saw exactly who edged them aside.
"Karma. Karma is funny."
"Karma huh?" Vince growled as he cocked his fist back- only to feel a vise painfully grip his wrist. Jack's grin only grew when the aggression drained from the bully's visage replaced with terror. With a slow turn, Vince had to raise his eyes a bit to meet a pair of mildly amused blue eyes belonging to a spikey haired blond with a peach complexion and dark whisker-like scars on his face which wore a false smile. He wore faded blue jeans, black running shoes, and a burnt orange hoodie with black sleeves.
"H-hey Naruto…" Vince stuttered out, visibly sweating as his body ached in remembrance of what happened last time Vince stepped up to him. It was also the only time anyone ever did so.
"Hey Vince," Naruto returned coolly "Whatcha doin'?"
"Uh giving Jack a headpat of course!" Vince blurted out, using his free hand to very gently touch pat Jack's head a few times, adding "He's been doing good in class lately so I thought someone should let him know!"
It was nothing more than a lie to protect himself from being on the receiving end of the blonde's fists but the fact Naruto had caught him in the middle of a student-filled hallway and was currently embarrassing him in front of their cameras would ruin the bully's image entirely. Hearing their giggles, Vince quickly said goodbye before bolting in the opposite direction, Naruto and Jack watching until he disappeared. The two boys turned to each other, laughter bursting out of them as they left the area, heading to the parking lot. Outside the school, Jack went to his dark blue motorcycle whereas Naruto, sat inside a crimson and black Nissan GTR-35 with a white hood.
"Jack seems happy," A feminine voice came from the speakers of the vehicle "Sierra ask him out?"
Naruto just laughed before backing out followed by leaving school grounds. Soon, Naruto drove out of Jasper, cruising on a barren highway waiting to get far enough away to swap over to his REAL ride. He spoke of the brief incident with Vince to pass the time, eliciting sounds of amusement from the voice.
"Sounds like Jack won't have to worry about bullies for a while- think we're far enough away?"
Naruto only grinned in response, seatbelt unbuckled in preparation.
The car around him began to unfold, metal twisting and stretching as parts shifted around, and the human leapt far higher than any should as the roof split open. He hung in the air for a few moments while the car transformed into a sleek fighter-jet with large fans placed in front of the wings. Naruto landed in the cockpit before a black and red red-lined canopy formed over him, sealing the air in. Quickly strapping in, Naruto placed a breathing apparatus over his mouth for easy breathing as the jet blasted away from the ground climbing up to an incredibly high altitude where only specialized aircraft could fly.
Naruto stayed silent as he took in a sight he would never tire of- the visible curve of the Earth where blue met the star-filled black of space. His companion shared in his silence, equally engrossed in the view. They remained at the edge of space for around twenty minutes, simply appreciating the beauty around them.
"Hey Windblade,"
"Yes?"
"Think you could ever show me what Caminus looks from this height?"
"Of course" She answered without hesitation "I already have everything planned,"
Silenced resumed when she finished, only the whoosh of her engines preventing complete quiet. Naruto only smiled to himself. When they returned to the ground below, the silence and peace would be replaced by the grind and uncertainty of the war they fought but this was fine, after all-
The silence could always be found in the sky.
AN: Ok so I wrote this after having 5 or 6 Polish beers but figured I'd post it as I have been wanting to write a Naruto/Transformers story for a while and this seemed like a good excuse to put the idea out there. Let me know what you guys think on that. Windblade is most likely for his partner and the Prime-verse will be the setting.
The next chapter for A Dull Edge is nearing completion and once it's done, Man and Machine is next in line followed by either another chapter for Dull Edge or Into the Depths. I'm still working on that Azur Lane story I promised a while back just making sure my research is as thorough as possible.
Not much else to say except read and review.
