A/N: Well, I saw Halloween Kills. It was alright. The kills were good, and the social commentary made sense. It did have some flaws, and there were scenes where I busted out laughing, but it was still mostly enjoyable. That is, until the ending. To me, unless a certain character actually survives and appears in Ends, then the ending made no sense at all. So instead, I did a little character swap. Have fun!
Music: "Through The Woods" from Halloween 2018 OST
Allyson Nelson sat on the porch steps of the Myers house, her mother's arms wrapped around her. This entire night has been one bloodbath after another. First her father and friends were killed, and now Cameron. Oh God, Cameron…
Despite what he earlier, drunkenly kissing that girl during the dance and destroying her phone for getting mad, he still didn't deserve death. Nelson blinked away tears, looking over her shoulder to see her ex-boyfriend's body on the second floor of the house, bludgeoned against the now broken banister, his neck twisted at an odd angle. The sight made her want to vomit, but there was nothing in her that wanted to escape. Even when she looked further up to see the mangled body Cameron's father, Lonnie Elam, partially stuffed into the ceiling, she still felt nothing. Only emptiness.
When did this happen?
While Allyson continued to stare up at the corpses of Cameron and Lonnie, she heard a sudden running noise, causing her to turn back to what was in front of her. Was the Boogeyman back? Had he come to kill her and her mom?
"Karen!"
No. The person running towards them was Tommy Doyle, his baseball bat slung over his shoulder. If Allyson squinted her eyes, she would've noticed it had a considerable amount of blood on it now. But that was in his left hand. In his right was Michael's mask, bloodied, burnt, and now split in two from the middle. As if someone had hit it with a… heavy blunt object…
Tommy suddenly stopped in front of Allyson and Karen, panting heavily, while his fingers wrapped around the mask's hair twitched in anticipation.
"It's done." Doyle murmured, holding up the mask. "It's over. Michael's dead."
The teen stared at the mask, as indifference radiated through herself. Funny, she should feel relieved. Overjoyed, even. This man, no- this monster- had killed her father. Killed her friends, killed Cameron. She should be jumping for joy at Michael Myers' demise, so why did she feel nothing?
"The Evil's gone." Tommy continued, dropping the mask to the ground. The older man reached out, gently helping Karen to her feet, who in turn helped Allyson to stand. The three of them began to walk away from the house, when Allyson felt someone, or something, looking at her. She frowned in nervousness, looking over her shoulder, but saw nothing. Her eyes trailed up the house, stopping when she arrived at a bedroom window. And on the other side of the glass, was a little boy, wearing a clown costume, staring back at her.
"Allyson?"
The teenager quickly looked back, seeing Karen staring at her with a worried expression.
"Are you alright?"
Allyson blinked a few times, processing the question, before shaking her head.
"I think… I think I left something back there. I need to get it, it'll only be a minute."
It was a lame excuse, she knew that the moment she opened her mouth, but Karen didn't seem to care. Her mother must be thinking she was still in shock, Allyson supposed. Nevertheless, Karen simply nodded her head, and the daughter broke away, slowly shambling back towards the Myers house.
Dammit. She forgot about the twisted ankle from her scuffle with Michael.
"Should we go after her?" Tommy asked, his eyes following Allyson's form.
"No." Karen shook her head. "I've seen that look in her eye before. She wants to be left alone."
"Is that a good idea?" Doyle frowned. "She just watched her friend die-"
"She wants to be alone." Karen repeated. "It's better if we let her be for now."
While Tommy and Karen continued speaking, Allyson quietly walked up the steps, barely glancing at Cameron's fresh corpse. When she moved across the second floor, she barely registered Lonnie's blood dripping down, hitting her jacket like droplets of rain. All she could focus on was that little boy in the clown costume, staring out the window. She had to find him.
Almost as if she was possessed, Allyson opened the door to the right of the hall, opposite of the bedroom where two of Michael's victims laid in pools of blood. Nelson stepped inside to a darkened room, but no boy. Did he leave? Where did he go?
While pondering where the kid in the clown costume went, Allyson turned her gaze over to the window, feeling drawn toward it. Like a moth to a flame. As her body almost glided towards the glass panes, she quickly realized whose room this used to be: Judith Myers', Michael's sister.
Once she mere inches away, Allyson stared out of Judith's window, the blurred police light flashing blue. As she gazed into the glass, her reflection stared back at her. Cold. Stoic. Expressionless. Nothing had changed since her mother came to comfort her.
Allyson felt a shiver down her spine, as she noticed her eyes no longer had their brown hue. Replacing them were black orbs, Devil eyes... like Michael's. The blackest eyes, which matched her blank, expressionless mask of a face.
As she continued staring at her reflection, she came to a sudden realization. This room, this window... Michael had never been after Laurie Strode. Evil doesn't specifically target anyone, it just kills for the sake of it. And this night, Halloween night...
A glint appeared in Allyson's black eyes, as her reflection stared back at her. Haddonfield was his playground, Halloween, his kingdom…
And now it was hers too.
A/N: I don't think it's a big secret at this point that I'm hoping Allyson becomes the next killer in the movies, if my previous stories featuring her are any indication. This isn't connected to any of them though, it was just a oneshot I thought up after I watched Kills in the theater.
Anyway, I swapped out Karen for Allyson in looking out Judith's window. Unless they retcon that Karen survived being butchered by Michael at the very end, I see no significance in her seeing Michael as a child and looking out that window. It would've made way more sense if it was Allyson who did that, but whatever. The whole theater and I laughed are asses off when it immediately cut to the credits too. That whole ending was just so absurd.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie, but holy shit does it have it's flaws. But, that's all for now. Have a good one, and definitely check out the film if you haven't already!
