(4)-Recess.

Outside on the playground, while all of the other kids were playing, Tommy stood alone with his hands in his jacket pockets, thinking about the Boogyman.

"Hey, Tommy!" Said Logan as he ran up to Tommy, carrying a soccer-ball. "Dude, what on Earth were you thinking?"

"Lonnie said that if i warned the whole class about the Boogyman, he would leave me alone." Tommy said.

"Dude, it was Show And Tell. It doesn't have to be so happy. Lonnie's clearly making it up. Just think about what he said. "The Boogyman will leave you alone if you tell the class about him". That's a super lame way to get rid of a monster. Besides, you shouldn't listen to someone who's been in 3rd grade since the age of 9." Logan said.

"It was true. Lonnie had been in 3rd grade since last year. He should've been in 4th grade this year, as he was 10 now, but because he failed the 3rd grade, he had to repeat it along with Richie and Keith, who had both failed the 3rd grade more than once and were still in it at ages 11 and 12 years old.

"Well...you've got a point there." Tommy said.

"I know i do." Logan said. "Now, come on, let's play." He said before putting the soccer-ball on the ground and then kicking it towards Tommy.

"Logan, the way Lonnie told me how to get rid of the Boogyman's not important. I felt him. He lives in the basement and uses the vents to get around the house. He watches me. I think he's after me next." Tommy said before kicking the ball back to Logan.

"Dude, you got issues." Logan said before kicking the ball back to Tommy.

"He's real." Tommy said before kicking the ball back to Logan.

"So what time is your Mom picking us up?" Logan asked before kicking the ball back to Tommy.

"She and my Dad are in the class-room with Miss Sherman." Tommy said before kicking the ball back to Logan.

"Oh, man. You can kiss hanging out with me this evening goodbye." Logan said before kicking the ball back to Tommy.

"Without a doubt." Tommy said before kicking the ball back to Logan.

"Hey, guys!" Came the voice of Holly, getting Tommy and Logan's attention.

The two 8-year old boys saw Holly running towards them.

"Dude, your girlfriend's coming." Tommy teased.

"She's not my girlfriend." Logan said.

"Fine. Your crusher's coming." Tommy said.

Holly ran up to Tommy, much to Logan's surprise, as she usually always approached him. "Hi, Tommy."

Logan briefly rolled his eyes into the back of his head in annoyance, making them milky white for a brief moment.

"Hey, Holly." Tommy greeted.

"Tommy, i believe you. I think the Boogyman's after me too." Holly said.

"I don't know. How could he be after both of us at the same time?" Tommy said.

"He's a monster, Tommy. He doesn't have rules. I've been hearing strange noises under my bed and having trouble sleeping at night." Holly said.

"Do you keep your lights on? He's afraid of the light." Tommy said.

"No. My parents won't let me. But i have found a way to stay safe." Holly said.

"Really? How?" Tommy asked.

"I resite the same prayer every night. "Now i lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If i die before i wake...i pray the Lord my soul to take". If you say that every night before you go to bed...nothing can get you." Holly said.

"Thanks, Holly." Tommy said.

Holly grinned at Tommy for thanking her.
