(19)-The Babysitter.

Later that night, back at the Doyle house, Tommy sat on the sofa in the living-room, watching 'GHOST STORIES' on TV, with his walkie-talkie by his side, while his parents were upstairs getting ready for their date. Actually, he was just staring at the TV while his mind was somewhere else. Normally, after returning home from Trick-or-Treating, he would be tuned in to the horror films/TV-shows while going through his Halloween candy...but tonight, his mind was somewhere else. And where it was was Halloween night-1963...the night the 6-year old Myers kid had killed his 17-year old sister. And now it looked like she may not have been his first and only victim.

For the last few hours, Tommy had thought that Frank N. Stiner had killed the Myers girl and framed her little brother for his crime and that maybe the kid was innocent. But no. That all changed when he and his friends found human skeleton remains inside the basement-closet of the Myers house. Remains that he was certain were real and not a Halloween prop. Those bones were real, they had to be. If they were fake, they would've been white, not brown. And he was sure that they were the remains of Frank N. Stiner. Which meant that he couldn't have been the white-masked creep Tommy had crossed paths with three times today. But if Frank N. Stiner was dead, then who was the white-masked guy he had been seeing around town?

He had no clue.

But one thing was for sure though: Frank N. Stiner was not the masked-man Tommy had seen around Haddonfield.

Tommy hadn't told his parents about how he and his friends had went inside the Myers house, as he didn't want to get himself or his friends into any trouble. After all, was pretty much a crime. They had broken at least two laws that required police attention: Trespassing and breaking and entering. So he decided that it was best for him, and his friends, if he kept quiet. For he knew his parents would surely tell their parents.

He had a pretty good idea on who-or what-the white-masked man might've been, but he wasn't about to voice that fearful theory into reality. It hadn't gotten to that point. Not yet.

"Tommy, do you copy?" Came the voice of Logan on the walkie-talkie, snapping Tommy out of his thoughts.

Tommy picked up the walkie-talkie.

"Are you there?" Logan asked.

"Logan...are you okay?" Tommy asked.

"Yeah. I'm sorry i freaked out." Logan said, lying on his bed on his stomach, holding his walkie-talkie.

"It's okay. We all freaked out when we saw the skeleton in the basement-closet of the Myers house." Tommy said.

"It's just that i felt what had been down there, and...that was way worse than being scared." Logan said.

"Now do you believe me?" Tommy asked.

"Yeah. But don't worry, Tommy. We're gonna do this together. I'm gonna get some professional help from a ghost hunter or a paranormal investigator." Logan said.

"Or a monster hunter. Like the ones on TV." Tommy said.

"Exactly." Logan said.

Just then, the door-bell rang.

"Tommy, could you please get that, it's probably Laurie!" Came the shouting voice of Stephanie from upstairs.

"I gotta go. Laurie's here. We'll talk later." Tommy said.

"Okay?" Logan said. "Hey, Tommy?"

"Yeah?" Tommy asked.

"We're gonna bust ourselves a monster." Logan said.

Tommy smiled before turning off his walkie-talkie.

The door-bell rang again and Tommy placed his walkie-talkie back on the sofa, went over to the door and un-locked and opened it, revealing Laurie standing on the porch, holding a pumpkin. "Laurie. Come on."

"Hi. Happy Halloween." Laurie said as Tommy stood aside, allowing her to enter the into the house before he closed the door back and locked it.

Ronnie then came downstairs, wearing a black tuxedo and black shoes. "Hey, Laurie." He said as he walked up to the 17-year old babysitter carrying the pumpkin.

"Hi." Laurie greeted.

"Hey, thanks so much for babysitting tonight. Mrs. Doyle and i really appreciate it." Ronnie said.

"Sure, no problem. By the way, i like your tux." Laurie said.

"Oh, well, thank you." Ronnie said.

Laurie then looked at the TV and saw that a show was playing on it. "So what are you watching, Tommy?"

"A TV-show. A paranormal TV-show." Tommy said.

"Well, duh." Laurie said.

"Okay, i'm ready to go." Said Stephanie as she came down the stairs and into the living-room, dressed for her date with Ronnie, with her white purse on her left shoulder.

"Wow. You look wonderful tonight." Ronnie said.

"Why, thank you." Stephanie said. "Hey, Laurie."

"Hey. Happy Halloween, Mrs. Doyle." Laurie said.

"Happy Halloween to you too, dear." Stephanie said.

"Love your outfit." Laurie said.

"Oh, thank you. That is a beautiful pumpkin." Stephanie said.

"Thank you." Laurie said.

"Look at that pumpkin. Oh, boy, are you gonna have fun tonight." Stephanie said to Tommy.

"Wow, Mom. You look amazing." Tommy said.

"Wow, Mom". Well, what about me?" Ronnie asked.

"You look like you're going to the prom." Tommy said.

"Thanks." Ronnie said.

Stephanie and Laurie grinned.

"Do you have our number, Laurie?" Stephanie asked.

"It's in my left pants pocket." Laurie answered.

"Okay, good. Remember what i always say. If there's an emergency, you call and let us know. In case of an urgent emergency-like if there's no time to get in touch with us-you go to the Mackenzies' house with Tommy and call us from there." Stephanie explained, reiterating what she discusses with Laurie every time she came over to babysit Tommy.

"Got it." Laurie said.

Good. You are our eyes and ears tonight...right?" Ronnie said to Laurie.

"As always." Laurie said.

"Come on, let's go, we're gonna be late." Stephanie said. She then looked at Tommy. "Now...you be good for me, Tommy, alright?"

"Okay." Tommy said.

"Be a good boy." Stephanie said to Tommy.

"Aren't i always?" Tommy asked.

"Cute." Stephanie said. "Alright. We should get back about midnight. Call us if you need anything at all, you have our phone-number, okay? And don't let him eat too much Halloween candy or he'll never get to sleep." She said to Laurie.

"Not a problem." Laurie said.

"Alright." Stephanie said.

"You guys have a good time." Laurie said.

"Thank you. Thank you so much, honey. Bye-bye." Stephanie said. "I'll be thinking of you." She said to Tommy.

"Okay." Tommy said.

Ronnie un-locked and opened the door and he and Stephanie exited the house and he closed the door back, followed by Tommy locking it.

"You ready? You gonna be ready to carve the pumpkin?" Laurie asked.

"Yep." Tommy said.

"Okay. Well, i'm gonna go put this down in the kitchen, it's a little heavy, so...be right back." Laurie said.

"Okay." Tommy said.

Laurie then left out of the living-room and went into the kitchen to put the pumpkin down.
