(23)-Finishing Up The Night.

Tommy and Lindsey were now in the kitchen with Laurie, who called them into the kitchen, and they were watching as she used a lighter to light a small candle, followed by placing it inside the now finished Jack-O-Lantern. She had finished gutting the pumpkin, as well as carving the face on it. All she had to do now was place the top back on it. She got the pumpkin's top and put it back on the orange vegetable.

"Okay. There we go." Laurie said before placing the lighter on the kitchen counter, followed by picking up the Jack-O-Lantern. She then proceeded to head out of the kitchen with Tommy and Lindsey.

"Oooooow." Tommy howled like a wolf as he, Laurie and Lindsey exited the kitchen and entered into the dining-room. "Ooooooo." He said, sounding like a ghost. "Gonna getcha." He said to Lindsey, referring to the Boogyman.

"No, he's not." Lindsey said.

"Hey, nobody's getting anybody. Scarin' each other." Laurie said as she and the kids stopped at the dining-table where she sat down the Jack-O-Lantern.

Tommy watched as Laurie went over to one of the open blind-windows. He wondered what she was looking at and if that something was Lindsey's house. "I wonder what Laurie's looking at out the window? The Wallace house, maybe? Could she be considering what i said earlier about the Boogyman being over at Lindsey's house?" He thought.

"Everybody's having a good time tonight." Laurie said.

"So much for that theory." Tommy thought.

Laurie turned to face the kids. "Alright, you guys, what's next?" She asked as she went over to where the kids were.

"Let's make more popcorn." Lindsey suggested.

"No, we've had enough. Why don't we watch the rest of the movie?" Laurie said.

"Yeah." Lindsey said.

"Yeah." Laurie added before she, Lindsey and Tommy headed back into the living-room and sat down on the sofa to watch the rest of the movie.

But no sooner than they sat down, the phone rang.

"Oh." Laurie said before getting up, going over to the phone, and answering it. "Doyle house...Ah, just sitting down for the first time tonight...No, i thought she'd be home by now. She went to pick up Paul...She probably stopped off some place. Have her call me when she get's home though, i have Lindsey here and i wanna know what time to put her to bed...Have a good time...Bye." She hung up the phone, looked out one of the open blind-windows for a minute, and then went back over to the sofa and sat back down, rejoining the two children.

"Who was that?" Tommy asked.

"Just Lynda checking up on me." Laurie answered.

"Oh. Okay." Tommy said.

Laurie and the kids then went back to watching the movie together.

...

10:00 PM

It was now 10:00 o'clock at night and the movie playing on the TV had drawn to it's conclusion and the end-credits were now rolling. It was time for Laurie to put Tommy and Lindsey to bed.

"Alright, kids," Laurie said before clapping her hands together one time. "party's over. Bed time."

"Hold on. Tommy's bed isn't big enough for two people. Where am i suppose to sleep?" Lindsey said.

"She can sleep with me in my parents' bedroom. After all, their bed is big enough for two people." Tommy said.

Lindsey just stared at Tommy. Had he really just said that? Had he really said that she could sleep with him in his parents' room? She didn't see that one comin'. Truth be known, it had taken her by surprise. But she wasn't going to pass up an opportunity like this that came along for a kid her age once in a lifetime. All she needed was Laurie's consent. "Please say yes. Please say yes." She thought.

"Okay. That's fine. Bed time." Laurie said.

"YES! Thank you, Laurie!" Lindsey thought excitedly.

Tommy and Lindsey got up from the sofa and headed towards the stairs.

"Go, go, go, go, go." Laurie said playfully.

Tommy and Lindsey headed upstairs to his room to get dressed for bed.

Lindsey had never been more excited for bed than she was tonight. For her, this was like a dream come true.

Little did she know that her dream was about the become a waking nightmare.
