(27)-The Monster's Lair.
Tommy slowly awoke, staring up at a ceiling, realizing he was lying on his back, then he sat up and looked around and saw that he was in a dark room that had no windows and no floor, except for the dirt-ground itself. The only source of light was a lit Jack-O-Lantern in the right corner, and the room had only one door, which was old, closed and locked.
"What is this place? Where am i?" Tommy asked himself. Where was he? How did he get here? The last thing he remembered was being at the Mackenzie house and then... "The Boogyman."
It was all starting to come back to him now.
The Boogyman showed up at the Mackenzie house after Logan did, broke into the house, knocked out two male police officers, and then abducted Tommy. The monster must've brought him here after taking him from the Mackenzie residence. Wherever here was.
What was this place?
A fearful Tommy wrapped his arms around his legs.
This had to be the Boogyman's lair. What else could it have been? Why else would the creature bring him here if this wasn't where he lived? The paranormal monster had done what it had set out to do since the day it started haunting Tommy's dreams when he was 4 years old. It had got him...just like it had gotten so many other kids before him. He was so angry. Angry with himself. But more than that, he was afraid. He thought he was safe at the Mackenzies' house because grown-ups were there, but he hadn't been. He had never been safe. How could he have even believed for a second that he would be safe after the attack at his house? Why hadn't he let himself talk him into believing that? If he had asked Mr. Mackenzie to drive him and Lindsey to the police station, they would've been so safe from the Boogyman, there would've been no chance of him coming after them there. Now the Boogyman had him and he was inside the creature's lair. How was he ever going to get away now?
It didn't matter, but Tommy had to think of something.
His mind then went to his 17-year old babysitter, Laurie Strode. Was she alright? If so, where was she now? Was she safe? He didn't know. There was no way of knowing. But he knew one thing for sure: Laurie failed to kill the Boogyman. While she may have been able to protect him and Lindsey from the creature back at the Doyle house, she hadn't been able to save Tommy, as the monster now had him in it's custody. Which meant that the monster had to have been long gone from his house by the time police arrived. He only hoped that wherever Laurie was, she was in a much safer place than he was right now.
Tommy then thought of Timmy's parents. He had left them downstairs with the Boogyman at their place. Were they okay? Were they hurt? Were they alive?
And then there was Logan. What was he doing at the Mackenzie home in the middle of the night in his pajamas? And why was he looking for his sister? Wasn't she suppose to be babysitting him tonight while their parents were at a Halloween party. Then he slowly started to put the pieces together in his head. Lynda must've gone back home and then went back out with Bob after her parents left. She must not have come home from her night out with her boyfriend and Logan got worried and decided to go looking for him through the neighborhood on his bike. He must've ran into the Boogyman while he was riding around the suburbs searching for his sister, and the creature must've followed him to the Mackenzie house. That had to be it. Logan wouldn't be out this late at night for no reason.
Like Annie, Lynda would babysit Tommy whenever Laurie and Annie were unavailable due to watching other kids. Although Lynda was very different from Laurie and Annie, she was just as much fun to be around as they were. If his parents knew some of the things she'd let him do and watch on TV, they would've long since fired her.
Speaking of his parents, Tommy began thinking of them and wondering if they were alright. Did they know what happened at their house? Did they know what had happened to him? Had he been reported missing? Were they and the police out looking for him? How long had he been here?
Tommy then fell back on the dirt-ground and slowly drifted off to sleep as he started thinking about all the times he told his parents about the Boogyman and all the times they either denied it's existence...assured him false safety...or just didn't want to listen.

Okay, everyone, this concludes Chapter 27. Only two more chapters after this, then the epilogue, and we're done. I know i said that at the end of the last chapter, but this time i really mean it. I also know i promised that this chapter would be epic, but i've decided to save that for Chapter 28. See you there.
Scary Halloween.
