Thanksgiving dinner at Jess' family home was not as awkward as Logan had predicted. Liz, Jess' Mom was very friendly and talkative, same as her husband TJ. Their daughter Doula was busy on her phone all the time, including during dinner. Luke was more receptive than the last time he expelled Logan from his diner many years ago when he came looking for Rory. Although he still cornered Logan to warn her not to hurt Rory, but then remembered the Gilmore Girls effect on himself and realized that Logan probably will hurt more if Rory's hurt and wish Logan the best of luck instead.

Jess, was surprisingly civil. Other than some stolen glares, he was practically ignored Logan. Which was fine by Logan. He wasn't there to be friends with Jess anyway. The conversation around the table was pretty lively without him joining in. Logan of course acknowledged and gave him several polite questions out of courtesy for Rory and Clarissa which he answered equally polite.

Just as he thought the night was ending well without him having to converse with Jess more than he expected, he found himself alone at the living room with the man.

"Hey..." Logan nodded at him.

Jess nodded back, gave him a lazy appraising look. "So, what's the deal with you and Rory?"

Seriously. Logan sighed. "We're together. As it should have been," he answered firmly. He held his gaze with Jess' as if challenging him.

Ever since he and Rory got back together, he had been explaining himself to more people than he'd liked, and he wasn't in the mood to defend his feelings to Jess, although he was now half sure that Jess only sees Rory as a sister.

"Right. And you'll make it right this time?" Jess asked with a cocked eyebrow.

Logan sighed again, a little louder this time.

"Look, man. I know you're very protective of her. A lot of you are. And I know most of you are disapprove of me, and it was mostly because I haven't shown you any reason to believe in me, but trust me. Rory is my priority, I love her and I will do anything for her," Logan said affirmingly. He didn't give any crap about this man, but Jess was important for Rory and it was cleared that he had helped Rory in her times of need, so the least Logan could do was be civil about it.

"Yeah that part we pretty much figured out. What we need to know is that you won't bolt again. The stakes are higher this time, it will be ten times more difficult than your past relationship, because she was broken, and she's still healing. So I need to know that you are all in, for better for worse or whatever." Jess said with that ever annoying look on his face.

"Funny," he chuckled. "I just told her the same thing," he turned to look Jess in the eyes. "That I am all in,"

Jess took a moment to hold his gaze in Logan's, searching for any doubt, any hesitation, but Logan didn't give him any. He was as sure as the sun rising every morning. After what felt like forever, Jess finally broke into the side smile he always had. "Okay. But be sure that I'll be watching,"

"You and a bunch of other people," Logan said. He was tired of all these people watching his every move, reminding him not to mess up, including his own father. But he understood. Now that he knew her story, he understood.

If it was that horrible for Rory, it must have been hell for the people who love her too, God knows it was hell for him. That kind of experience makes people become overprotective.

"Just so you know, we weren't rooting for you to fail." Jess sounded more sincere much to Logan's surprise. "On the contrary, we want you to succeed. We love Rory, and she loves you. And if anyone can bring her back, it would be you."

Logan nodded, acknowledging the sincerity that Jess sent him. "Thanks. Didn't expect that from you,"

"Yeah. I love her like a sister, and I would do anything for her, including supporting a blond dick from Yale,"

He grinned, and Logan replied with a chuckle.

"Yeah I deserved that. For what is worth, I'm sorry for being a jerk back at Yale,"

"Don't sweat it, I would've acted like a jerk too if I found someone trying to steal my girlfriend," he shot a cocky grin. No remorse whatsoever. But Logan surprisingly wasn't even mad anymore.

He shook his head. "So you were trying to steal her?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry man. It was a different time, different me. I know better now. And I've found my true love, so I can now tell that what I felt for Rory is not a romantic feeling," Jess sounded firm, assuring Logan. And Logan decided to take it. Admitting that he needed all the support he could get to be the man Rory needs.

"We do all sorts of stupid things when we were young. I know about Philly too," he mentioned that deliberately. Because if they're going to move forward, he realized that they need to lay all the cards on the table.

"That one wasn't me, man. I sent her home when I found out she was still with you," he lifted his hands open in front of his chest and shrugged. Logan chuckled.

"Yeah, thanks for that. And I understand why you kicked me out when I looked for her at Luke's. I know now that she was very fragile that time and you were trying to protect her. I don't know if my presence that time would make her better or only worsened the situation,"

He nodded. "Is that all, because I really uncomfortable with this over sharing emotions, with a guy nonetheless,"

"Yeah, let's grab a beer and not talk about his to anyone," Logan offered.

"Cheers!" Jess replied.

They both grabbed a bottle of beer and joined the others in the garden. Rory shot a concerned look when she saw him and Jess walked in together but quickly shifted to surprise when she saw them at ease and exchanged a funny comment.

Logan approached her and gave her a quick peck while whisper, "don't ask."

She furrowed her brows clearly curious but let it rest. Decided that seeing them made efforts to be friends were enough.

The rest of the night went really well and he felt more welcomed than before. He really enjoyed this kind of Thanksgiving, which by the way, very foreign for him. His Thanksgiving usually filled with snobby relatives sucking up to his dad, or talked dirty about one another, or a very sophisticated Thanksgiving parties tend to impress people it got to a point of it being a competition.

But this. This was warm and funny and easy. The kind of holidays you want to bring your kids in. He could see that Rory was enjoying herself a lot too, and made a mental promise to give Rory this kind of Thanksgiving every year, hell even all holidays should be like this.

It was almost eleven when they finally said goodbye and climbed into Logan's latest Porsche.

"You sure you're re not going to stop by your mom's house?" Logan asked after he ignited the engine.

"She isn't there anyway, they went to Boston for the Holidays. I promise I'll call, Logan."

"Okay, so... straight to my house then?" He asked to confirm.

"Yes please!"

"Okay, straight to the house." He confirmed again, clapping his both lips in his mouth.

"Why are you nervous?" Rory asked.

"I'm not," Logan answered quickly. "I'm not nervous,"

Rory rolled her eyes.

"Okay, yes. So I'm a little nervous."

"Why?" She prodded.

"First impressions are vital, it can determine whether or not something or someone deserves a second chance. And I really need you to like my house if we're, um..." Logan stopped abruptly realizing what he was about to say.

The silence lingering after his hanging sentence was left a second too long before he got the courage to look at Rory. She was grinning.

"You're about to say?" She encouraged.

"I'm about to say if we're moving forward and you know, want to live together or something. Or we can always buy a new house. Money is not an issue,"

Her grin grew wider and he felt giddy. She liked the idea of them moving forward and the possibility of moving in together.

"Look, I know we said we're taking things slow but I haven't been more sure about anything in my whole life. These past few months had been nothing but assured me more, Rory. I saw your changes and I grew to love you more each day, and it pains me to leave you every night to go back and sleep alone,"

Logan was glad for the road lights because no way he could've predicted Rory's reaction in the dark. She was smiling, a knowing smile. Like she also felt the same. She reached for his free hand, the one that wasn't holding the steering wheel.

"First I have to see your house. You know, to weigh my options,"

He smiled. This was good.

He concentrated on driving for a while before turning his car into a dark pathway. They were at the edge of Hartford where the nature neighboring with buildings.

"Where are we, Logan? You're not gonna kill me and sell my kidney in Asian market are you?" She commented when he kept driving in the woods a few minutes after they left a main road.

"That's a bad joke, Ace. Too early for violent jokes after I know what happened to you," he still couldn't say it out loud. Rory's past really hit him hard.

Rory rolled her eyes but stayed quiet, not trying to make anymore jokes.

The car finally pulled over in front of a house. In the middle of the grass and trees, there stood his house in all its glory. It was a modern two stories house with a mixture of concrete, wood, and glass. A total opposite of his father's mausoleum styled house.

"Logan, it's... a beautiful house,"

Logan tilted his head to get a better look on Rory. Her smile looked genuine.

"You think so? Let's go inside,"

Now that he knew Rory liked it, he's excited to show her around.

His elegant foyer welcomed them when they got in. He helped Rory with her jacket before he took his off and hung them in the jacket wardrobe.

"Come on, you want a grand tour?"

She nodded. Her eyes wandering around appreciatively. He took her to stand at the center of the house.

"Okay, so it's not a really too big of a house actually. I have an opened space living room here, a huge kitchen I rarely use and a dining area." His right hand flew here and there pointing the areas he mentioned. "It has a service area next to the kitchen that connects with the garage,"

Rory nodded taking in his rush tour.

"But what I want to show you the most is this," he grabbed her hand and dragged her to a room beside the living room clearly excited to show her this room. He stopped in front of the door, hand ready to turn the knob. She nodded.

"Tadaaa..."

He stepped aside to show Rory the room. Rory gasped.

It's a library. A huge comfy sofa dominated most of the north wall with an artistic quilt draped on one of its hand rest, and a floor to ceiling book shelve occupied the other wall. It has a small wooden work desk with a matching comfy chair at the corner of the other wall, and a floor to ceiling glass wall at the opposite side providing access to the back yard.

She stood in the middle of the library quietly Logan could almost hear himself breath.

"Logan, the..." she turned her head to Logan. "It's empty, the shelves are empty..."

He chuckled. Of course that was the first thing she noticed. Other than some of his business books, the shelves were practically empty.

"I didn't brought my books from London. I donated them to the local library,"

"So why do you have a library?"

"Ace. Come on." He said incredulously. She looked at him puzzled.

Logan huffed after realizing Rory hadn't get it. "Looking for a house to stay was the first thing I did when I found out I'm going to be relocated here. I found several listings online and I made appointments to see them when I arrived stateside. I have three choices: a bachelor pad near my Hartford headquarters, think about it as my three times larger New Haven apartment. The second one was an apartment in New York, sophisticated, modern, over the top, and very very white, like a hospital. So maybe my friends won fit in there, and they were all I got... my third option was a white picket fence. A house so family ready I could just pick up a wife and kids and join the towns meeting afterwards. So my best option would be the bachelor pad of course," he paused and looked at Rory who is nodding her head to signal him to continue. "But the realtor insisted to show me something else,"

He closed the distance between them. "This house has five bedrooms, and a backyard as big as Stars Hollow. At first I was skeptical. Why would I need that many rooms and what will I do with the excessive land? But I came anyway,"

"I came to see this house the day after we met at that party, and obviously you stayed in my mind the whole time. Plus I woke up to my Dad's nagging me about finding a wife. Then I went here. And as soon as I walked in this library, I pictured you sitting in front of the glass window reading a book and enjoying your coffee, and you half jumping to put a book on the top shelves. Or sitting on that desk with your face scrunching and your tongue stick out a little while typing on you laptop. I signed the papers even before I saw the second floor,"

"Logan..." she choked on her tears. "Nobody ever bought me a library before..."

He smiled, looking directly into her eyes wishing that she could see the love radiating from his eyes. He would do anything for this woman.

"I love you, you freakishly rich guy who bought library for me!" She said with all sincerity.

"I love you too, you book sniffing freak!" Logan countered before dipping her mouth into a sweet but needy kiss, and it took a second for her to respond. One thing that he never unsure about is how she respond to his touches and his kisses.

To be honest when he pictured her in this library, it didn't include them making out like a couple of teenagers in the middle of the room. Guess he'd become rusty on the imagination department. And now, with Rory kissing him like that and her hands found themselves under his shirt, his mind became more clouded and he moved based on instincts. All he could think of was this was way better than his imagination.
