She Ain't My Blood, But She's My Girl
Chapter IV
It was Friday morning. Rory was up and ready for the day. She had already had her coffee. Logan ordered a Keurig coffee making. He made Rory a coffee station in their bedroom. He had a mini-fridge and a Keurig coffee maker. She was out of the shower, working on her second cup of coffee while putting on her makeup. She was ready to see Mia. She couldn't wait to show her what her room looks like all decorated. The last time she saw her room, there was no paint on the walls. Now she has a twin bed with a trunnell. Her walls are light pink. Her comfortable is lavender. It looks great against her white iron bed frame. There was a reading nook, with pillows and a blanket. Her table was set up with a tea set. Her stuffies were sitting around the table waiting for the tea party to start.
Going through the Jack and Jill bathroom to her playroom, she had her Barbie Dreamhouse, her Barbie camper, all her Barbie dolls in different places in her playroom. She had a big toy box full of her toys. There was also a twin bed in the playroom. Lorelai suggested it. Rory and Logan's bedroom was on the same floor as Mia's. The nanny has a room in the basement. She does not live with them, but she has a space of her own. Lorelai suggests putting a bed in the playroom so when Rory and Logan were gone for the night, the nanny could sleep close to Mia. There is also a room that Shira and Emily both think will make a great nursery.
Rory was in the office when her dad texted that they were pulling up. Rory went to the door. She wanted to open it before the maid could. She ran down the front steps. Mia was out of the car and in Rory's arms before she knew it. "How is my baby?" Rory asked. "My boo-boo itches. I want to see my new room. When are we bringing my stuff from our old house? Gramdpa said he and Aunt Gigi will come to visit and they will stay in our old house. Will I go to the same school? I don't want to change schools. I will miss my friends." She stopped long enough to take a breath. "Mia, you asked me a lot of questions. Do you want me to answer them?" Rory asked. Mia nodded. "Okay, let's go see your room. Then you can ask me 1 question at a time." Rory said. She took her hand and led her up to her room. "Wow!" Mia said. "Look, momma. My stuffies are having a tea party." "I see, baby. Come this way," Rory led her through the bathroom to the playroom. "All my Barbies are here. Thank you, momma." "And if you will follow me, I will show you where Logan and I sleep, so if you need me, you know where I am." Rory showed them their bedroom as well as how to get back to her room.
Chris and Gigi were just following them. Chris was smiling. He always smiled when he saw how Rory acts around her daughter. After exploring the rest of the house with Mia, they started to the patio when Claire came out of the kitchen. "Well, Hello there wee little one. You are a precious one." Claire said. "Mia, this is Ms. Claire. Ms. Claire, this is Mia." Rory introduced them. "This is my dad Chris and my sister Gigi." Chris and Gigi both greeted her. "Mr. Logan is out back on the patio. I believe he is on the phone." Claire said.
The four of them went to the patio. Logan was just hanging up. "Mia, my best girl. I am so glad you are home." Logan said, hugging Mia. "Gigi, Chris, good to see you. I hope Mia was the perfect angel I know she is." Logan said. Gigi laughed. "She's got you fooled." Benjamin walked up to the patio. "Mr. Logan, would you like for me to bring in their luggage?" "Benjamin, this is Rory's dad Chris and her sister Gigi." Logan introduced them. "Claire called me. Said your guests have arrived and I should get the luggage." "Benjamin, thank you very much, but we can get our luggage," Chris said. Benjamin nodded and started to walk off. "Are you married to Ms. Clare?" Mia asked. Benjamin turned around. "Yes, I am. You must be Mia. I have been looking forward to meeting you all week. Maybe after you get settled, we can go for a ride on the gator. Mr. Logan said he was sure you would want to." Mia smiled big at him. "Yes sir."
Mia went to play on the gym set and jump on the ground level trampoline, while the adults and one 15 years old talked. Rory told Chris and Gigi about the nanny they were going to offer the job to. She is 30 years old. She has never been married. She has a degree in childhood development. She enjoys children but is not able to have any of her own. She lives in Brooklyn, in a studio apartment. She was looking for a live-in nanny position. Rory and Logan discussed it and they decided they could make it work.
They told Chris what Nancy said at the wedding and the phone call she got from her this week. Logan told him about running into Tristain in Belgium. "I will make some calls and look into the law about custody in the Military, grandparents' rights, and overseas custody," Chirs said. "I will try to have some information for you before you meet with her Tuesday, but I can't, put her off as long as you can," Chris told her. Rory nodded.
