(30)-Reunited.
"HEEEEEEELP!" Tommy screamed as he ran through the suburban neighborhood. "HELP ME! HEEEEEEELP! HELP! Please! HELP ME, SOMEONE! HELP!" The 8-year old screamed at the top of his lungs while running, hoping some of the neighbors would hear him, but they didn't. He didn't even bother to look back to see if the Boogyman was pursuing him, for he was afraid if he did, he would trip and fall like the people in the monster movies, and then the creature would get him for sure.
He then wondered why none of the neighbors could hear him and weren't coming out of their homes to see what was going on. Then he remembered what day it was. It was Halloween. A scary holiday where people played scary tricks on each other for fun. It wasn't that the neighbors couldn't hear him, it was just that they didn't believe he was in any real danger. They thought he was playing a joke on the neighborhood. A prank, to be exact. Anyone looking out at the scene would see a Halloween scare-tactic presented by a man and a young boy.
He could just hear them now: "Why, those screams are so blood-curdling, they might actually be the real thing. And look how realistically that kid is running down the street in his pajamas, acting like he's scared".
Tommy then noticed four figures up ahead coming his way. Two of them were on foot while the other two were on bikes. As he ran closer to them, the 8-year old could make out who they were. The two figures on their bikes were Logan and Timmy, and the two on foot were Lindsey and...Lonnie? What was he doing with them? Helping look for him, maybe? No way, that couldn't be the case...couldn't it? Logan, Timmy and Lindsey, sure, but...Lonnie? Come on. "You guys!"
"Hey, look, it's Tommy!" Logan shouted.
Tommy, Logan, Timmy, Lindsey and Lonnie made their way up to each other.
"Tommy. Thank goodness you're alright. When the Boogyman took you from Timmy's house, i thought for sure you were-"
"How are Timmy's parents? Are they alright?" Tommy asked, cutting Lindsey off. He needed to know the current state of condition of Mr. and Mrs. Mackenzie and if they were okay.
"My folks are fine, they were just knocked out like the two cops. It's nothing serious." Timmy assured.
"Oh, thank goodness. That's a relief." Tommy said, glad to know that Timmy's parents were fine. "And now, if you don't mind telling me...what are you doing here?" He asked Lonnie.
"Helping these three look for you, what else?" Lonnie said.
"Since when do you care what happens to me?" Tommy asked.
"Since i had an encounter with the Boogyman myself." Lonnie answered.
"Yeah, right." Tommy said, not believing the brief story. Lonnie was clearly lying. He hadn't encountered the Boogyman. This was just another one of his tricks...wasn't it?
"No, it's true. I was out with Richie and Keith for most of the night, then we went our separate ways and i got into it with these other kids. Next thing i know, this male cop is driving up to us and tells us about this guy who had murdered three teenagers in the neighborhood. I knew it had to be the Boogyman. Anyway, after the cop left, we all took off running. I went my way and the other kids went theirs. As i was running home, i fell on the ground, then i looked and saw the Boogyman coming my way. I covered my face with my arms and prepared for the worst. Then these two male officers were bent down over me, checking to see if i was alright. I sat up and looked around for any trace of the Boogyman, but...he was gone. I then got up and ran off to head home. That was when i ran into these guys on the street. They filled me in on what happened at your place, at Timmy's place, and that's how we ended up here." Lonnie explained.
"Nice story." Tommy said. He didn't believe Lonnie the first time, but after hearing him explain every detail, he knew the bully was telling the truth. He had to be. What kid could make something like that up, much less remember all of it if it was fake? It had to be real.
"Thanks. So how'd you get away. From the Boogyman, i mean." Lonnie said.
"Well, i-" Tommy was then cut off by the sound of police sirens and he looked and saw several police cars coming towards him and the others, with their head-lights on and their red and blue lights flashing.
Logan, Timmy, Lindsey and Lonnie turned to see the police cars come up to them and stop along with the sirens.
"Well...i'll tell ya about it some other time." Tommy said.
Some of the officers then got out of their cars to question the five kids.
