Chapter 22: A Dreamy Day.
Ruins
Irrational used it's large knife/arm to throw a downward diagonal slash to it's right, only for Ren to duck to his right to avoid the attack. The creature followed the attack by spinning to it's right and delivering a right elbow strike, only for the lotus shaolin stabbed it's elbow with his right gun-blade and used his left gun and sprayed bullets into the beast's head.
The monster shrieked in annoyance and spun to it's left and slashed left with the knife, to which Ren responded by activating 'Patience' and let the attack slide past him harmlessly. But once he deactivated his magic, the shaolin was hit by Irrational's right push kick and his back hit the ground.
The dark beast continuously slashed the ground, forcing the green themed fighter to backpedal to avoid getting hit. Ren then rolled backwards and jumped right before Irrational slashed left.
As the lotus shaolin fell down he front flipped and delivered a crushing right axe kick upon the beast before back-flipping away. Ren landed and ran towards the creature as he sprayed bullets at it.
Irrational charged and swung it's arm blade to it's left, only for the shaolin to slide on his knees underneath the attack. The creature then immediately slashed the opposite way, forcing the lotus fighter to jump to the air.
While airborne the shaolin shot his grappling knives at the beast and pulled himself towards it. Irrational raised it's bladed arm to impale Ren, but right before he hit the beast his body flashed a light blue color and flew right through it.
The shaolin then planted his feet on the ground and pulled Stormflowers forward, sending Irrational flying through the wall, into the bed of red leaves. Ren then dropped both magazines and channeled 'Patience' into his weapons and sprayed blue attacks on the beast, and it actually did some damage.
"Huh,... If people stand still, blue attacks won't harm them. That's certainly not the case here." The lotus fighter assessed the situation.
The creature shrieked in pain before blocking the blue bullets with it's left arm knife. Ren charged and spun to his right and slashed right with Stormflowers, but the beast parried the attack with it's left knife arm.
The creature then grabbed the shaolin in the face with it's right arm and turned left and smashed the boy into the wall, cracking it. Not finishing there, Irrational ran down the hall as it dragged the green clad fighter along the wall.
"ARGHHHHHH!" The lotus shaolin yelled as he was dragged along the wall hallway.
Suddenly, it stepped into a booby trap and the floor broke down, causing it to fall into the hole. Ren was let go and his back hit the floor on the other side of the trap.
"I wanna go back to bed. I'm supposed to be in bed. Why am I doing this on a Sunday morning?" The shaolin groaned as he sat up.
Ren immediately ducked his head back to avoid a knife tendril shooting past him. The blade went straight through the lotus fighter's right weapon, embedding it to the wall.
Irrational came out of the doorway soon after the attack. The shaolin pulled out his curved knife, back-gripping it as he ran at the beast.
He ducked underneath a left swing but the creature used it's right leg to kick Ren in the face, sending him rolling back on the ground. The beast then leaped and stabbed it's left arm blade down, only for the green shaolin to roll to his right and get up from the ground.
Irrational slashed right, to which Ren used 'Patience' so that the attack went through him harmlessly and the beast exposed it's back to him. Taking advantage of this, the lotus fighter leaped back and fired his left, 'Patience' coated Stormflower to his enemy's head, reducing the upper half of it's head into a mist of darkness.
Yet, the creature was still alive and bolted towards Ren, who continuously fired his 'Patience' bullets at it. Irrational slashed left, cutting the green clad fighter's weapon off of his hand, but Ren did the matrix dodge and it missed him completely.
The shaolin used his left hand to grab his right hand and stabbed the blade straight into Irrational's exposed neck. After that, the shaolin channeled 'Patience' into his blade, burning the beast from the inside.
Irrational shrieked as it was vaporized, turning into a fine mist of ash. The green clad boy sighed and went to pick up the remains of Stormflowers before stuffing them into his sleeves and continuing his trek.
The shaolin jumped past a few traps, did a few puzzles, got lost a few times, but he still managed to reach a house. He looked around the house a couple of times for weapons, only to find none.
Sighing, Ren continued walking down the basement and found a tunnel. The boy walked to the end of the tunnel and opened the door to a snowy land.
Yang's mind
Yang felt like she was drowning. She felt like she was being swallowed by the darkness around her.
She closed and opened her eyes to see Summer rubbing her sister's head while Tai hugged her tightly. Her sister was beaming with joy and happiness. Patch cold breeze blew past her hair, causing it to sway with the wind.
Her mother was there, her sister was there, her father was there. She was happy. That's all she ever wanted.
"Mom?" Yang called out.
"Hey there, my little dragon." Summer spoke with the same gentleness that she knew many years ago.
"There's still room, ya know." Tai offered
She wanted her family to be happy. That's all that matters. With a singular tear dropping from her eye, Yang ran towards her mother and sister to hug them.
Suddenly, she stopped dead in her tracks. Something was not right.
"G-Guys? Wait, what about Patch!? T-The Grimm!" The brawler remembered.
"What Grimm? What are you even saying!? Yang! Mom's home!" Ruby exclaimed.
All three of her family looked at her questioningly. Ruby was still crying and her father's arm was still wrapped around her mother and sister.
'No. This isn't real! No! I'm still in the underground fighting the what's-it-called.' The blonde fighter's eyes flashed red.
'Something was playing with my mind, and I'm gonna send it into the world of pain!' The blonde thought.
"You want me to get close to you huh?" The brawler yelled "GOOD! Cus I'm gonna get REALLY UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!"
Cocking Ember Celica, Yang charged straight at the illusion and threw an explosive right hook at them. But, to her horror, her hit landed at Taiyang's ribcage, bursting it open, revealing his internal organs.
The blonde gasped in shock. She gagged and almost threw up at the sight of such viceral scene. Both Ruby and Summer looked at her, equally shocked.
"WHY!? WHY DID YOU DO IT!?" The red Rose screamed in terror.
"I-" Yang stuttered.
"How could you!" Summer exclaimed. Her voice was ridden with betrayal.
"I-I,..." The brawler stuttered once more.
"I gotcha kid." A familiar voice sounded behind her.
"Uncle Qrow,..." The blonde fighter let out a relieved sigh and noticed that she was back in Snowdin.
"PAAAAAANCAKE!" Nora yelled in desperation.
The yell startled the both of them, causing them to jump back a bit.
"Oh,... Whew,... Just a nightmare." The ginger sighed in relief.
"THAT, is what made you hallucinate." Qrow pointed to the creature that was cut in half.
The beast then reformed and growled at them.
"Okay, what the heck?" Qrow muttered.
The beast lunged at Yang and threw a right hook, to which the brawler ducked under the hit and delivered a right leg sweep, causing Fear to fall forward. Right before it hit the ground, Nora swung her hammer up, sending the creature to the air.
Qrow then jumped to the air and slashed his sword at the creature's stomach. Fear hit the ground and bounced up, only for Yang to throw a left, magic and Semblance enhanced, punch at the beast's face flinging it back through two trees.
Yet, the creature stood up and shrugged off the attacks as if nothing happened. The left side of it's face was the only thing that seemed remotely damaged.
"The hell? I remember cleaving straight through it. Now we barely did any damage to it." Qrow claimed.
"So it can reduce the damage taken from the hits. Then we just gotta hit harder." Yang stated.
"Alright Miss Dark-Grimm-like-creature-thing, ready for SMASH!? I've got some PAIN to deliver to your butt!" Nora yelled.
"It just occurred to me how many sex jokes I've missed out on, but alright." Qrow shrugged.
The huntsman looked up and saw nothing but darkness. Smirking, the crow huntsman readied his sword and took a stance against the darkness.
"Bring it." The huntsman taunted.
"Nah. That won't work twice, bonehead." Yang stated as everything turned back to normal.
Fear looked at the blonde curiously as it's illusion was disbanded.
"Nora, keep using your magic to ward away the illusion. I gotta make things right for someone." The brawler ordered.
"You sure you don't want my help? I mean-"
"I don't want my uncle attacking us. Besides, that is my old friend. So this is my fight." Yang cut Nora off as she cocked her shotgun gauntlets.
Yang turned her attention back to Fear and immediately ducked back from a right hook kick. She then used her left hand to push a right jab away from her face and ducked underneath a left hook.
The blonde blocked a left turning kick and ducked and moved to her left to dodge the beast's right hook before spinning to her left and delivered a left spinning kick to the creature's face. Fear returned a right turning kick, but the bombshell brawler ducked and threw a right jab to it's left unprotected knee.
The beast landed it's right leg and sent a left side kick to Yang's face. She staggered back a few steps but raised her fists up for defense immediately.
"Careful Yang!" Qrow called out.
"Kick it's butt!" Nora cheered.
Fear engaged with a left front kick and a left jab, both of which were blocked by Yang. The brawler then threw a combo of a left turning kick, a right jab, a left hook and a right elbow strike in that order only for them all to be parried.
The buxom blonde spun to her right 720 degrees and sent out a right spinning kick, only for the beast to duck and deliver a left hook to the brawler's stomach along with a right hook to her face. The creature threw a right push kick, but Yang dodged to her left and got behind Fear and suplexed it to the ground.
As the beast got up from the ground, Yang threw a right front kick to it's face, sending it through a tree.
'It can nullify my punches even with the use of 'Bravery'. The longer I fight, the less damage it takes. Wonder how it would deal with my Semblance and magic.' The blonde pondered.
"BEHIND YOU!" Nora yelled.
The brawler was broken from her line of thought as Fear charged at her from behind. A hammer to the side of the head sent it flying through the wall of Sans' house.
"Thanks Nora! I owe you one. Hey! I have an idea. Hit me!" Yang spoke.
"Are you sure? Like, sure-sure? I just got charged up and I'm kinda-" The hammer wielding girl was cut off by the blonde bombshell.
"YES!"
"With or without magic? Cuz I hit pretty hard-"
"JUST DO IT!" Yang cut Nora off again.
At this point, the creature of the void just got up and growled.
"Alright." The bubbly ginger said enthusiastically.
A hammer to the back sent Yang flying towards the beast with the speed of a missle. She activated her Semblance and 'Bravery' at the same time and threw a left hook to her enemy's face, turning it to ash in a single hit.
And then she crashed into the sink. The force of the impact shattered the sink, causing water to pour all over her.
"Ow." Was the only thing Yang could think of before her consciousness left her.
Waterfall
Weiss grumpily tread across the dirty waters of the junkyard as she used her right hand to cover her mouth. The filthy stench of the junkyard was,... Well not as bad as she made it out to be.
The Ice Queen let go of her own mouth to breathe normally and found that the smell of decay was not from spoiled food, but rather packaging papers. But, the smell was still not pleasant by any means whatsoever. It still smelled of rot.
The heiress saw a stairway and hastily walked towards it. Upon reaching the stairway, she tripped on some sort of wire and heard clanking sounds. The moment Weiss looked up, she saw a stack of knives falling down.
The white haired girl leaped back to avoid the blades as they hit the floor. Weiss let out a relief sigh before anger rushed into her mind.
"WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD-!" The Ice princess cut herself off as she realised who did it "Oh, right,... That thing."
The white haired girl looked to the ceiling and noticed the very same creature she met before. The dirty liar raised it's right hand up, changing the gravity.
Gravity shifted to the wall behind Weiss, forcing her to land on it. Everything in the junkpile came flying towards the ice princess.
Raising her rapier, the white haired girl created a glyph to block the trash, but could not stop the water from rushing at her, soaking her in trash water. Enraged, the heiress dispelled the glyph and raised her right hand to apply 'Integrity' upon the creature, only to find that it was not there anymore.
Suddenly, the white haired girl fell to the ground along the trash waters and the junk pile. The junk fell onto the ice princess, piling onto her.
Weiss angrily pushed the trash pile off of her and chased after the creature's footprints. She went up the stars and turned right to follow the footprints into a narrow corridor. The ice queen immediately stopped at the sight of a tripwire.
"AS IF THIS WOULD WORK AGAIN!" Weiss yelled as she stepped over the tripwire, a click was heard soon after the second step.
She had stepped on a landmine.
The explosion sent her back, her leg hit the tripwire as she fell flat on the floor. The floor suddenly opened up, but the ice princess quickly used her power to pull herself onto the ceiling.
The white haired girl looked down and saw a spiked mat on the floor. Before the white haired girl let out a relief, she felt the gravity pulling to the ceiling and the spiked mat came flying to her.
Weiss immediately used her glyph to slide back on the ceiling, only for her to get a push kick to the back. The hit sent the heiress forward, falling face first onto the back of the spiked mattress.
Dishonesty then returned gravity to normal and dropped the ice princess down into the trap door in the ground. The trapdoor then closed and water started pouring in slowly. The creature smirked victoriously as it casually walked over the trapdoor.
In the room, Weiss tried to hit the trapdoor, but to no avail. The trapdoor was too thick and her rapier couldn't penetrate the thing. She tried using fire dust, wind dust, electricity dust,... But it was all for naught.
All she was able to do was denting the door. As the water rose up to her hip, the heiressput her hand onto her chin thoughtfully as she went over the ways to escape the deathtrap.
"Have you tried using your summoning?" A familiar voice came from the shadows.
"INK!?" The ice queen's head snapped behind her so fast that the artist could have sworn that they heard a crack "What are you doing here!? Also,... HOW THE HECK DID YOU EVEN GET IN HERE!?"
"Good question." The artistic skeleton finger gunned Weiss before continuing "I honestly don't know."
Groaning, the ice princess facepalmed.
"You could use your summoning to save yourself. I don't really need to breathe, but you do." The artistic troublemaker remarked.
"That's literally what I'm the least good at. I can't even summon a small bird, let alone a creature big enough to get me out of here!" Weiss complained.
"Then you better learn it quickly, cuz the water reached your neck." Ink remarked.
Weiss immediately looked down and gasped. She had forgotten about her situation. Before she could plead Ink's help, the skeleton only gave her a smirk and told her.
"Welp, good luck."
"Wait-!" Before the white haired girl could finish her sentence, the skeleton teleported away.
"WHY DID YOU NOT BRING ME WITH YOU!? YOU STUPID, AUTISTIC SON OF A-"
Cut to Ink on the trapdoor.
"Man, I'm such a good friend. Helping my friend improve her skills and all that." The artist smiled as they continued walking.
"Now to the part where I take Dishonest down." Ink chuckled.
"Ah,... Just the one I was waiting for,..." Dishonest's growling voice came to Ink's ear as the two of them locked eyes.
"You can use a little color. The color black is just bland." The artistic skeleton snarked as they spun their paint brush..
Trapdoor
A giant sword burst out of the ground as the heiress jumped onto the floor. She was soaked and was hacking out all the water in her lungs.
'I'm gonna make that imbecile of a skeleton regret their existence!' Weiss thought angrily.
The ice princess straightened her back and started walking forward. Only a few steps later, the beast that she fought before flew straight through the wall to her right.
As Dishonest slowly got up, it got blasted to the wall by an Inkblaster. The ink then formed into chains and tied the beast to the wall. The creature managed to let out a shriek before three ink spikes flew straight through its mouth, ribcage and stomach.
The heiress was startled by this and raised her rapier to prepare for what was about to come through the hole on the wall, only for Ink to stick their head in and beamed.
"Hey there! You took less time than I thought you would! I knew you could do it. All you needed was a little push!" The artist exclaimed.
"Well, guess I owe you one." The ice queen stated.
"You're welcome! Also, sorry, gotta bail ya. Other people need MEEEEEeeee,..." The artistic troublemaker screamed as they ran into the darkness.
Weiss merely looked at the fading beast and sighed.
'At least that weaponized autism is on our side. The more I think of this situation, the less it makes sense.' The heiress thought.
"HEY!" Nora called out to Weiss from a distance.
The heiress saw Yang being carried on Qrow's shoulder and Ren stood with his arms crossed behind Nora, who waved enthusiastically. Walking towards them, she heard the bubbly ginger girl ask.
"So,... Why are you wet?"
The white haired girl can only facepalm.
Hotland
"So,... You take the one on the left, I take the one on the right?" Penny half asked.
"Yeah, sounds good." Jaune replied.
All of them then charged at their foe.
Penny let out all ten of her blades and spun them. The pan wielding creature slashed right with it's weapon, only for Penny to faze right through it and jabbed all ten of her swords behind her to the back of the creature, causing it to fall flat to the ground.
Jaune used his shield to parry a strike to his left and returned a sword slash to his left, but it was blocked by the creature's left blade. Hatred jabbed it right blade forward, to which the knight once again parried it to the right with his shield.
The creature sent a right push kick to Jaune's left side, knocking him to the ground. The knight hit the ground and noticed that the floor was heating up. He immediately activated 'Kindness' and blocked the pillar of flames from the ground.
The dual blade wielding creature turned it's head around and ducked underneath Penny's swords swing to her right. The cybernetic girl used the momentum to jab her blades at the face of the frying pan wielding beast before locking blades with the other creature.
Hatred breathed flames at the cyber girl's face, staggering her, and delivered a left knee to her stomach. The white knight sent a downward slash at Hatred, but it raised it's right blade overhead to block the hit.
Jaune tried to throw a left hook with his shield, only for the creature to fall to the ground and kicked it's right leg at Penny's ankles, causing her to fall face first to the ground. The beast then slashed both of it's swords to its left, at Jaune's legs, knocking him off his feet.
Fireballs then fell from the ceiling as the knight rolled away from the creature to dodge them. When the fireballs flew at the knight from various different directions, he raised his 'Kindness' shield to block the fireball to his left, right and front respectively, only for one to hit him in the back sending him to the ground.
Jaune groaned as he got up from the ground and noticed that the creature dissipated it's blades and summoned flames in the palms of its hands. The white knight realised what was going to happen and raised his magic shield to block the incoming wave of flames.
The frying pan wielding creature flicked it's frying pan and white pellets came out of it's frying pan and flew straight at Penny. The robotic girl spun her blades and deflected every pellet from her before putting the tips of the blades together before shooting the laser at the creature of hatred.
The frying pan wielding creature got pushed back a few steps, but used it's frying pan to block the laser. The pan emitted a black aura shield and blocked off the laser completely.
The Cinder lookalike slashed it's blade at the back of Penny's knee, causing her to scream and fall forward. The pan wielding beast took advantage of this and ran towards the robotic girl before smacking the frying pan at the cyber girl's blades.
Jaune charged at the creature from behind, but got blasted back by a stream of flames. The ceiling lit up and a column of fire fell upon the knight. Cinder's clone looked back at the robotic girl with an ear to ear smile and raised it's right blade.
Right as it was about to bring it down, a blue arrow went through it's right wrist. Hatred looked back up and saw a skeleton in a blue shirt outside of a black shirt, a halo on his head along with a yellow cape, black trousers and a pair of yellow boots. The white knight seemed to be lying behind the skeleton, dazed, but unharmed.
As the beast screeched in agony, arrow after arrow pierced through its body and one went through it's head, turning it into ashes. Taking advantage of the pan wielding creature's moment of negligence, she activated patience and the creature fazed right through her and lost it's balance.
The skeleton shot an arrow to the ceiling and stars fell upon the beast. Hatred raised it's dark frying pan and blocked the stars, but it seemed to be breaking the creature's shield. Suddenly, a sword protruded the creature's stomach.
The knight channeled his 'Kindness' into his sword and created a green greatsword from his magic. The greatsword's power burned the creature of darkness into nothing but cinders.
Jaune then fell to the ground right after that and let the shining stars fall upon him.
'Heh, I killed it with 'Kindness'.' The white knight thought to himself.
Strangely, the stars did not harm him, but rather, healed him. The knight got back up and stared dumbly at the skeleton - his savior - who was waving at him.
"Sooo,..." Penny started.
"Who are you?" Jaune finished.
"Greetings. I must apologise that we could not meet in a better circumstance. I am Dream." Dream introduced himself.
"That's a nice name. Why Dream though?" Penny asked.
"Uhhh,... Because it's what I'm called?" The petite skeleton half asked.
"But why did your parents name you Dream? Are you their hope or something?" Jaune inquired.
"N-Ye,... Maybe? I don't know? My creator created me to be the beacon of hope so I might as well be." The skeleton answered.
"Creator?" Penny asked.
"Oh joy,... More interdimensional stuff that I was not aware of." Jaune snarked.
"Uhhh,... You're aware of Alternate Universes? Huh, interesting." Dream concluded.
"Sorry, but who is this creator of your's? And why did your star things make me feel,... Happy?" Penny questioned.
"Those are positive energies. A light against darkness, I'd say. I am the representation of Light, a beacon of hope." The skeleton replied.
"..." The deafening silence took over the air for a couple of moments before awkwardness came.
"Uhmmm,... Hello? Earth to two people whose names I've not yet learned?" The Light bearer called out.
"I find your story hard to believe." The cyber girl stated.
"That's ridiculous! Next you're gonna say your brother is the representation of Darkness!" Jaune accused.
"..." A dead silence took over the air around them for a few moments more before Dream spoke up.
"How did you know that?" The small skeleton asked.
"I-WUH,... WHAT!?" The knight screamed.
"Wow! You are the god of light! It's an honor!" Penny chirped.
"WHAT!?" Jaune yelled again.
"Uhhh,.. The pleasure's mine?" Dream awkwardly replied.
"This can't be happening,..." The white knight muttered.
"He has no reason to lie to us, so I believe him." The cyber girl replied.
"However, I have not been into this realm before. So,... I might not be the Light god you spoke of?" Dream half asked.
"I suppose you are right." The robotic girl agreed.
"Let's,... Just go,... This is getting crazier by the seconds. First magic, then monsters and then multidimensional god entities." Jaune complained.
"Sorry if I aggravated you." Dream shrugged.
Only after a few minutes and thousands of questions, everyone had to move to dodge a spear that flew across the hall and embedded the glass wearing creature of darkness.
"Jaune?" Pyrrha called out to his partner.
"Pyrrha!" The blond knight answered.
"JAUNE!"
Before he knew what was going on, Pyrrha wrapped him in a tight hug. They remained there for a while as Penny and Dream stood there awkwardly. The skeleton let them have their moment before letting out a cough to let his presence be known.
"Oh! Sorry, I don't believe we have met." The spartan stated.
"I'm Dream." The skeleton introduced himself.
"Dream,... Huh, that's a nice name. Mine's Pyrrha." The spartan spoke.
"Thanks. Come along, Pyrrha. I need your help stopping what's happening." The little skeleton stated.
"Agreed. As soon as you fill me in as to what is going on exactly so I can help." The spartan demanded.
Dream let out a sigh as he felt a very long, winding explanation coming along.
MTT Resort
Blake deflected the bullets that were coming her way with the katana as she charged at the creature of darkness. Once in range, the girl raised her blade to slash down, only for the katana to be shot out of her hand.
Injustice pointed it's revolver at the cat faunus' face and open fired, but she used her Semblance and the bullet hit the ice sculpture. The black themed girl caught the ribbon and whipped it down, causing the creature to sidestep to it's left to avoid getting hit.
The cowboy looking Grimm shot it's revolver twice more, to which the cat faunus took out her ribbon to parry the bullets to her left and then to her right. Blake pulled the ribbon to bring her katana back to her and as the yellow bullets zig zagged back to her, she shot the incoming bullets down with 'Justice', causing an explosion.
The black themed girl cleared out the smoke and saw Injustice shot at her and dodged to her left as the yellow pellet flew past her. The pellet exploded into a shower of smaller pellets and they flew back to the cat faunus.
Blake realized this and ran at the cowboy looking dark creature, only for her to hit an invisible force field wall. The cat faunus screamed as the pellets impacted her back. She felt some parts of her soul get ripped out as it glowed bright with 'Justice'.
The faunus got up and realized that she was surrounded by four force field walls and a couple of targeting scopes on the ground and decided to avoid them as they followed her. As she expected, the targets exploded and the force field wall went down, leaving the creature open to be attacked.
Taking her chance, Blake rushed forward and swung the scabbard to her right, to which the creature ducked. The black themed girl sent a left side push kick to Injustice's body, knocking it back.
The faunus then put her blade into her scabbard and slashed left, chopping the cowboy looking creature's right hand. It screeched in pain before the black themed girl slashed right with her blade, cleaving the dark beast's head clean off.
Blake looked at the creature's body slumping to the ground as she sighed. Walking away, the black themed girl thought of everything that was simply thrown her way.
Everything happened so fast. In a few short hours, everyone on Remnant was gone, as if they did not exist to begin with. Lives were taken away before anyone could even react.
The faunus looked down as she went to the door. She remembered her parents, the arguments, her leaving them to join the Fang, what it has become,... Adam.
Adam. That bastard.
Oh, how she hated his current self. That man was once a man of good intent. He once sought freedom, equality and safety for faunuskind. And now, he was nothing more than a mad, genocidal terrorist.
As they said, the road to hell was paved with good intentions. But, how they decided to act upon those intentions were what actually led them to hell. They twisted their own beliefs and visions of the future to spite the humans.
The White Fang went from a peaceful group to a terrorist organisation in five years. In five short years, they have undone everything her parents have built.
The worst thing? She was there when it happened. She witnessed the downfall of the White Fang while she was in it.
She couldn't - No, she didn't even try!
She only watched as the Fang became a terrorist organisation when she could have intervened. She let Adam do what he did instead of stopping him when she could have. She could have stopped them when she was still respected!
'Does it matter at all?' A voice in her head asked.
No, it doesn't. Nothing could be changed now. Nothing is left. No home, no mom, no dad, no White Fang, no,... Anything,...
In frustration, Blake punched through the resort's window. Glass shattered along with her reflection on it.
"Why do I still fight?" The black cat slumped to the floor and leaned against the doorway nonchalantly.
"B̸e̴c̸a̸u̴s̶e̴ ̸I̷'̸m̴ ̶n̸o̶t̴ ̵d̷o̸n̸e̵ ̵w̷i̸t̶h̷ ̵y̸o̷u̷ ̸y̶e̷t̴!̸" An inhuman scream caused the faunus girl to shoot up from her sitting position.
*PING!*
Blake realised that she was currently in the forcefield box again. This time, bombs appeared around her, before they launched themselves at the cat faunus.
The black cat dodged them all, but they collided with one another, causing a massive explosion, knocking her to the wall. Groggily, Blake got up from her position and noticed that the bombs were coming at her from four different directions.
The black themed girl switched her katana to pistol mode to shoot the one on her left, right and front in said order before diving and rolling forward to dodge the one behind her. The cat faunus looked up and saw that she was right in front of the barrel of a revolver.
Before the faunus could react, a bullet went into her left eye. Once the initial shock had passed, the pain found its way into the eye socket of her's.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Blake fell to her back and writhed in agony.
The pain was unbearable.
It felt like someone had somehow jabbed their arm into her eye socket and squeezed as hard as they could. As if they were ripping her brain apart as slowly and painfully as possible.
"Hello!" Ink greeted her from behind.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"
"Are you in pain!?" The skeleton asked loudly.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"
"I'll take that as a yes,..."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"
"OK, then! Do you want me to-"
*BANG!*
The artist dodged to their right to avoid the bullet from the cowboy.
"Nevermind! I will take care of this creature!" Ink continued as they drew the brush from their back.
Just as Ink was charged forward, they were blocked by an invisible wall. As Ink's *FIGHT* system was activated, the system was no longer applied to Blake.
"PFFT! Really?" The artist taunted.
"D̴I̸E̴!̵" The beast yelled as it sent bombs at the artist from all directions.
With a twirl of the paintbrush, Ink was wrapped in an Ink bubble. The bombs blew up chunks of the bubble, but the bubble restored itself right after the explosions. Spikes then shot out of the ink bubble and destroyed the incoming bombs.
As a single bomb managed to slip into the artistic skeleton's defense and destroyed a part of Ink's bubble. The small breach in the artist's defense gave Injustice a single moment to shoot at the skeleton. The artist flicked the brush to their left and deflected the bullet away from them.
Unbound by the *FIGHT* system, Blake took her chance and activated her magic. Her remaining eye glowed bright with 'Justice' as she aimed her pistol at her enemy.
Time seemed to slow down as the faunus took aim. With a pull of the trigger, a bullet left it's barrel and flew towards its target.
Before Injustice could react, a yellow bullet pierced through it's right eye socket, blowing off half of it's head. The creature slumped to the ground and died immediately.
Yet, the cat faunus was not convinced and decided to blow a couple more holes into the creature's body. The clicking of the pistol alerted her of the empty clip, yet she continued pulling the trigger out of anger.
Once she had calmed down, Blake immediately noticed her tardiness and fell back to the floor. The burning sensation in her left eye had not gone away, the blood had not ceased pouring out of your eye socket, it had only worsened as time went by.
Speaking of time, it seemed to have slowed down as her agony increased. Seconds felt like minutes as Ink approached her.
"Hey there! I noticed that you only have half a mind to get up, so I decided that I'm going to help you up." The skeleton declared jovially.
Blake just stared at them blankly. She decided not to respond to that joke.
'Have you come to mock me as I die?' The faunus thought spitefully.
"I see that you only have half of your consciousness, much like your eyesight, so I'm just gonna go on a limb and say that you agreed." The artist told her before taking out their smaller paint brushes.
The artistic skeleton made quick work of Blake's eye. In a few short minutes, the black themed girl had a new eye and the pain in her socket was gone completely.
That doesn't mean that her tiredness was gone. She still felt tired after losing that much blood in such a short time.
"There! Good as new!" The artistic skeleton chirped.
"While I'm thankful that you saved my life, I'm going to have to ask you to refrain from making more stupid jokes." The black themed girl stated.
*BLARRRRGH*
Ink vomitted Ink all over Blake's clothes.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!?" The faunus snapped.
"Hey, my jokes are good jokes! You're just too Blake and gloomy." Ink chimed in with ANOTHER pun.
With that, the black themed girl had to resist facepalming so hard that her head would go flying.
The headmaster's tower
As the world around him withered away, as his people were wiped out of existence, the headmaster sat at his table, slowly sipping his hot cocoa mug. Ozpin sighed as he felt a familiar presence behind him.
"Hello, old friend." The headmaster of Beacon greeted.
"Greetings, Ozma." The void skeleton returned the greeting.
"You seemed to have gone away for quite a while. You bring good news, I hope?" Ozpin asked.
"Sans is an excellent student. And, as expected, when the souls of monsters and humanity meet, they can resist being shattered from reality by the void. They are fueling the Core as we speak." Gaster answered.
"While I do not wish to be discouraging, I no longer have any high hopes this time around. No matter how powerful they are, holding the weight of the world on their shoulders will break them." Headmaster Ozpin stated.
"This time will be a little different, for he is not doing it alone anymore." The scientist smirked.
"Well,..." Ozpin placed his cup on the table and leaned back in his chair "You know what they always say. The good thing about being old is that nothing surprises you anymore."
"Agreed." The void monster nodded.
"You know,... I was right. This is shaping up to be an interesting year." The headmaster smirked.
"︎︎︎︎Indeed,... very, very interesting." Gaster replied.
Over 5000 words worth of fight scenes in this one chapter. Goddamn, this took forever. Yang's fight took most of my time due to her fighting style, but I managed to wrote it down.
Anyways, leave a comment and stay safe guys.
