I'm back baby and I bring a new chapter, when the site glitched I couldn't upload or edit for a while. So I made some new changes to this story which I hope people like. Tsubaki is still Kikyo's rival given Kikyo never died in this, I liked the idea of Tsubaki wearing an eyepatch to cover her scaley curse above her eye. Jealous of Kikyo and her daughter, who is stronger than she is. Also I think Onigumo may still become Naraku, but without the jewel he'll just terrorise Kikyo and Miyuki.
Also Tsundere uncle Sesshy, where he secretly becomes protective over Miyuki but denies it. Miyuki loves her uncle but he love/hates her. Due to my idea that as she grows older she resembles Izayoi and Kikyo. Anyway, I hope you like the update, parental InuYasha and Kikyo
Please follow, favourite and review
Kikyo wandered around the village with a warm smile on her face, a pouch sling fastened tightly around her front, nestling Miyuki close to her chest. A sense of unbridled love she never thought capable had taken root in her heart, and she now had someone she needed to protect and loved more than she thought possible. She had watched many girls her age fall in love, colour their lips, wear perfume and marry, living their lives in content peace and never worrying about the battles she'd faced. Often yearning that she may have known such a life had fate bee different, but now that dream had been fulfilled. But somehow, someone had heard her wish, her deepest hearts desire. Her fate had been changed, whatever path in life destiny had predetermined had taken another route, forever changing who she was supposed to be. But she was no longer alone, the emptiness that had once plagued her soul had been healed, she was still a priestess, but now she was able to embrace that she was a woman. Carnal needs that she had repressed could be embraced, making her feel whole. It had been a week since her birth, her strength had recovered and she was strong enough to walk again, her body slowly recovering from delivering a living being into the world.
Her spiritual power had recovered, stronger than ever, however, she wasn't capable of a physical battle for the time being, it would be a while before she could leave the village or return fully to her priestess duties. Her reckless decisions of facing her problems alone for the good of many was no longer an option, she had the well-being of herself and her baby to consider. Her responsibilities had doubled and changed, she had to consider her actions as a mother and a wife. She had a child who relied on her for love, nurturing and shelter, someone who would look to her as a role model as she grew up. She would be far from perfect, but she could only do her best to help her child become a strong young woman. For the time being while recuperating, she could still tend to her medicinal garden and help the villagers. She could still brew medicine, she could still train, she could still protect the temple and now that the jewel had been destroyed, she didn't have to worry about demons attempting to steal it. There would always be the threat of bandits, war and other issues, but it was merely due to the time period, that was unavoidable and had been a threat long before the jewel was created. Her life had changed in many ways yet still remained the same, but InuYasha took care of demonic threats around the village, driving them away so no demons harmed the villagers or herself. He had embraced this place as his home, where he had made roots, where someone was waiting for him with open arms. His demonic aura driving away demons from considering attacking the village, he had since adopted a blade thanks to his fathers grave, Tetsuigha. Increasing his demonic strength and presence more than before. A family friend who was known as Myoga the flea had explained about his inheritance of the sword, he had also come to wish his blessings on the birth of his master's daughter and wife. Pleased InuYasha had finally married and found a place of belonging, aware of the isolation and loneliness his master had endured growing up.
"Lady Kikyo, Ohaiyo" a friendly voice replied, she was in a daze today but she was exploring the village and checking up on people. What a thoughtful person she was. Her empathy for others was truly admirable.
Kikyo raised her head to see a group of male villagers approaching, perhaps they had finished working in the fields and were heading home. Maintaining the village and making sure they had enough supplies. "Ohaiyo" she smiled warmly. She was aware she hadn't been as sociable during her pregnancy and she felt bad for neglecting the people she was supposed to protect.
The villagers approached, gazing at the infant bound to her, during her pregnancy, Kikyo had still maintained helping the villagers until she became too weak to continue her duties while her child was growing. During her recovery, Kikyo had remained under the protection of InuYasha until her strength became stable. She looked healthier again, a newfound glow had appeared in her, a mysterious change. "I see you are feeling better, is this the young milady?" they questioned, she had been in the prayers of everyone.
Kikyo blushed, smiling proudly, she had been hesitant about bringing Miyuki to meet people, afraid of judgement and the stares of others. But she felt some relief that she was being met with positive attitude so far, glad that some of the villagers were already accepting of Miyuki. "Hai, this is Miyuki, I plan to train her powers so she may someday take over as a future priestess" she pressed, stroking her daughter's hair. She wanted Miyuki to find balance and control of her powers to protect her from whatever dangers may befall her. The world could be a cruel place and she didn't want her child to be at its mercy.
"She be the spitting image of you milady, a real beauty" another praised, she had inherited much of her mothers looks though it would change as she grew older. But what a beautiful baby she was, a strong wise spirit indeed.
Miyuki stirred, mumbling sleepily before her eyes opened wide with curiosity, overhearing the voices that were talking about her. Kikyo stroked her daughters head to soothe her "Ohaiyo Miyuki, did you sleep well?" she hummed, Miyuki gazed at her mother with golden-brown eyes, staring up at her mother's warm gaze. She began to stir softly, reaching with her hands weakly, trying to touch her mother. Kikyo smiled softly, reaching one of her hands to take one of Miyuki's hands so she could grip her finger, comforting her child and reassuring her she was safe. She had always been good with children, many of the local village offspring asking to play with her. No doubt they would pester her about Miyuki in the near future.
"Such beautiful eyes milady, so unusual" one of the villagers muttered, he had never seen eyes like hers before, no human had ever had such unusual colours. The same brown as her mother yet flashed with hints of gold, inhuman. Was this due to her father? Was this InuYasha's power affecting her?
Kikyo stiffened, her eyes were not human, her demonic heritage shone through, something she loved, something she praised, could be seen as bad by others. So soon and already her baby was being ostracized for her demon blood? She hoped a villager wouldn't attempt to insult her baby in front of her. She peered back at the man suspiciously "Indeed, her eyes are beautiful, almost like a tiger eye stone" she pressed. She felt an anger welling inside of her, though she repressed the urge to lash out and scream at this man for so much as thinking such things. How had InuYasha been so strong as to ignore such cruel words and bottle them inside himself? How had Izayoi coped overhearing such wicked thoughts about her son? It was too cruel, her heart couldn't bear it.
The villager saw her heated gaze and panicked, sensing her growing rage, instantly regretting his words "Aye, that they are" he agreed timidly. The villagers wondered off quickly, sensing the anger of Kikyo and the protectiveness of her daughter.
Kikyo sighed heavily, tightening her grip on Miyuki protectively and calming her breathing as to not scare her baby. She felt so hurt at the fact it had happened out of nowhere. She had feared this would happen, before Miyuki was born, but facing it so soon and so abruptly had caught her off guard. "It seems ignorance cannot be cured" she huffed, now understanding the ignorance that InuYasha had faced when he was a child. The hardened exterior he developed in order to shield himself of the cruelty of the world around him. Miyuki simply stared up at her mother innocently, wondering who the strange men were.
Kikyo knelt beside the boats near the river of the village, ironically where InuYasha proposed to her that evening on a beautiful sunset, the boat ride after she had asked him to abandon fighting and become human to live beside her in peace. Where they shared their first kiss and he knew all he wanted was to be by her side forever. Her one dimensional view of the world taught to fight demons had altered, aware that not all demons were corrupt and evil, not all humans were as kind or pure as they appeared. Some demons were the monsters from folktales and fears, some humans were kind and gentle, both were capable of evil and both had more in common than they realised. Her views had changed, her mind opened, her heart stronger and kinder. She had learned a great deal from InuYasha and she hoped to share these views with her daughter as she grew up. Asking that they live normal peaceful lives together, casting aside their troubled pasts, their inner torment that had once ruled them. Confessing his love and promising to spend the rest of his days with her. However, they both accepted parts of themselves that they could never abandon, constantly changing and growing, yet aware of their flaws. InuYasha had a home, he no longer had to fight to earn his place and worry about his wellbeing. He had a village in which he belonged, which accepted him and found himself a mate who understood his tormented soul. He found a home, he could be himself, he could lower his defences and on the night of the dark moon when he transformed, Kikyo would erect a barrier around the village. Protecting her people, her daughter and husband, so he could sleep easier knowing he would survive the night. Remembering the look of surprise on her face when she saw his human form, the silvery demonic hair changing to his mothers black, the piercing golden amber eyes darkening to match her brown. His tanned skin becoming paler, but he was still strikingly handsome, resembling his mother. She had reached out, stroked his face, his hair, never once faltering her gaze. Expressing how this was the blood of his mother, of which he should be proud, confessing how handsome he was.
Kikyo could show weakness around someone and lower her guard, never hiding her true feelings, she could show flaws, weakness and wear her heart on her sleeve, rather than show a mask of hardened perfection. She was able to convey her frustrations, ask InuYasha for help when she had doubts, when she was scared and when she was tired. InuYasha would hold her, comfort her, reassure her that she was doing well and remind her of how far she had come. Using her power to destroy the shikon jewel thus preventing anyone from succumbing to its temptation ever again. Her love for her husband and daughter breaking through, now they had a child together, she couldn't be happier. Realising what she had been missing her whole life, knowing she was needed by someone, that she made them whole, they made her whole. Their souls bound together by fate. This was where their life began now, their path to parenthood, perhaps their marriage could help build a bridge of their worlds which may bring change to the status quo. Suddenly she felt a wave of demonic, malevolent energy approaching, sending a minor shiver up her back, it had been a while since she felt this kind of energy. It wasn't a demon, it wasn't InuYasha, this felt different, her soft gaze sharpened into anger. An unpleasant memory from her past, surely she wasn't so foolish as to attempt another attack on her life. She should have learned the first time when she attempted to take the jewel from her and overpower her position as a priestess. She knew Tsubaki was conceited, but surely she wasn't so foolish as to attack her while carrying her infant child, aware her innate maternal instinct would do everything to protect her baby. Driven on overpowering Kikyo, outdoing her as though it was some form of competition. "I didn't think you would show your face around here again Tsubaki, not after that failed curse of yours" she spat. She knew that Tsubaki had resented her for years since she was made guardian of the Shikon jewel, but more so since she became popular due to her adoration from villagers, as well as the respect she earned from others. While Tsubaki lived for praise, attention, vanity and power, Kikyo was modest, hardworking, loyal and wise.
A dark-haired figure appeared from the bushes wearing an eyepatch, she couldn't look in the mirror anymore without feeling a sense of disgust due to her disfigurement. Her beautiful face now warped into something hideous and ugly, a look of rage formed on her face. Thanks to Kikyo she had been cursed, her face forever disfigured thanks to her. A scaly mark above her eye where the demon wounded her, when Kikyo deflected her attack and scarred her. Though indeed a powerful priestess in her own right, despite her years of training, she couldn't compare to Kikyo. "I heard tell that you had settled down with that half breed you had become so fond of. I see you've brought his halfling spawn into the world. Surely you don't plan on making that creature a priestess Kikyo" Tsubaki mocked. She had fallen since her prime, Kikyo still shone through and grew in power while she now had to fight to keep up thanks to her injury, years of training having gone to waste. Kikyo was now nearly nineteen and still a formidable priestess admired by many, but she had mated with a half breed and bore his child. Many priestesses and villagers were wary and spiteful of this. Nobody would accept a priestess of demonic heritage, she would be hated, feared and seen as a disgrace, was Kikyo that foolish? Throwing years of dedication away all for a man, did she learn nothing from that curse she inflicted upon her years ago, to never fall in love? Kikyo had woven fate to bend to her will, forging a happy ending because she desired it, even destroying the shikon jewel in which she had hoped to protect. Taking away something that Tsubaki had trained to do her whole life. Why did Kikyo have to ruin everything good in her life? As though she enjoyed mocking her.
Kikyo chuckled, had she come to insult her child? How brave. Tsubaki was trapped in the past, unable to let go of her hate and spite others to make herself look good. What had happened to her to cause such corruption in her heart. Had she not destroyed the jewel, surely it would have corrupted Tsubaki too. "Indeed, I have mated with InuYasha for life, we now protect this village together, though you forget he is a half breed DaiYokai, stronger than most common demons. But also harbours immense spiritual capabilities like her mother. Making her a formidable potential priestess" Kikyo stated. DaiYokai were immensely powerful demons capable of taking human form as well as a demon, commanding armies, ruling territories, compared to that of gods due to their immense demonic power. Though her blood was weaker than her fathers or her grandfather, Miyuki was still stronger than common demons, but what powers would activate and develop as she grew older was unknown. She didn't regret her choice to live with InuYasha, to choose him over her destiny, she was allowed to be selfish for once in her life. It was the happiest choice she had ever made and she would never look back. Their daughter carried their blood and she would become someone unique, with her parents guidance to help her. Tsubaki growled, her blue eyes glowing red with rage, the curse she had attempted on Kikyo was broken. Her painful demise never occurred and the rivalry between them persisted. Daiyokai were of the strongest demons and on par with gods, some even worshipped as deities, the most infamous was the great dog general of the western lands, whom his oldest son Sesshoumaru had inherited upon his death. InuYasha was the second son of said demon, making him a prince. Of course, Kikyo would become involved with the halfbreed child of one, luck was fortuitous on her behalf. If she harboured so much spiritual and demonic power, she would be a threat. Even their daughter would be stronger than herself someday. Why could she not be blessed with such luck, so her painfully exhausting journey of growing stronger would finally feel satisfying? Everything that came so easily to Kikyo, she had to climb from the ground up. Kikyo turned to Tsubaki, wearing the same cold expression she was infamous for "I warned you the day you attempted to curse me with that snake. I let you live, I showed mercy by not killing you. However, since you have threatened my child this time I won't be as merciful. Begone Tsubaki, if you have any common sense" she warned. Her eyes glowing pink with her spiritual power, a glow emitting from her body as she channeled her spiritual power, she wasn't at her full potential, but she would do what was needed for her daughter's sake. Tsubaki was a talented priestess who was the only one before her curse capable of rivaling her power. But her vanity and dark intentions blinded her from what mattered. But threatening the ones she loved but her in a dangerous position and she would be wise to fear Kikyo.
Tsubaki shivered, it seemed motherhood had made Kikyo even stronger somehow, her spiritual power though weakened due to her healing state after childbirth. It had grown to a dangerous level, one that could overpower her. She knew if Kikyo wished to kill her, she could do so easily. She had lost this fight, but she wouldn't give up "Sayonara Kikyo, but this isn't the end, maybe once she is older I may cross paths with that daughter of yours" she warned. Storming off into the woods, a cold glare on her face.
Sesshoumaru wandered through the woods of his domain in boredom, no lesser demons worthy of battling, the wind was calm and it carried no scent of death, blood or war, humans had been oddly calm and no lesser demons causing trouble. His brother had the Tetsuigha, their fathers sword and his inheritance, while he had been left with the Tenseiga, the sword of life. The sword in which was used for battle, capable of slaying thousands of demons in a single strike, was left in the hands of a Hanyou. What need did he have for Tenseiga? Usually he would have duties, much like his father as lord of the western lands, his castle and ruling over his subjects. Something wasn't right, he found himself bored and even his domain in which his castle was located brought him no comfort, nothing of interest that could distract him. So he wandered to observe the world around him in hopes of finding entertainment.
"Milord Sesshoumaru, I have heard whispers of some interesting rumours" Jaken babbled eagerly. He knew InuYasha was already a weakling half breed who sadly shared the same family as his great master, but it seemed he had copulated with a human female, a priestess no less, the sworn enemy of demons. He had further smeared their great legacy down the drain, embarrassing his master. She had sired him a child, one sharing the rare blood of a Daiyokai and a priestess, there was a possibility that once she grew older, she would cross paths with him someday. Should word spread about this it would bring great humiliation to his master.
"Rumours mean little to me Jaken, they are merely useless prattle" Sesshoumaru stated firmly, though Jaken was wise and at times he respected a minor amount of his advice, most of his information was worthless. Due to his lack of information and inability to locate his fathers tomb, InuYasha had inherited it before him. Unless it was worthy of his presence or use to him, he did not need to hear of them. He followed his chosen path, his mission, growing stronger and finding true strength, to live up to his father's expectations and legacy.
Jaken swallowed "Hai milord, but it involves your…. Brother" he forced out, knowing his master hated hearing the name of his half brother mentioned. Blaming him for the fall of their father and how he was weakened due to Izayoi. Waiting to be beaten for even mentioning his name.
Sesshoumaru stopped, freezing mid step as his body became rigid, memories flashing through his mind. He hadn't heard a word of InuYasha since the death of Izayoi and striking out on his own. A young pup left to survive in the world, using the demonic blood within him to protect himself. Without his protection, even as the son of Touga, very few demons would care, attempting to kill him, but then that was his fault for being weak. Was he alive? Was he dead? He cared little, the world was a cruel place, InuYasha was merely made aware of it from a young age compared to most. But for him to shame the name of their great family was something would never accept, tainting their DaiYokai nature, lords among the common blood. He peered at Jaken, his silvery hair gleaming in the light, his golden eyes were sharp and piercing "What of that common mutt?" he asked.
Jaken backed away timidly, swallowing bravely, sensing that one misstep would put him at the fury of his master "It… it seems milord he has found himself a mate, a priestess no less" he babbled.
Sesshoumaru blinked, a priestess? Of all the women in the world he had chosen to mate with, he chose a shrine maiden? If their lineage was to continue, surely he would have had more common sense. Priestesses due to their spiritual power were the bane of the existence of every demon, the only thing capable of killing them. Though many DaiYokai had been slain at the cost of a priestesses life, he wasn't so foolish as to attempt an encounter with one. But he had heard that InuYasha had become entangled with a particularly strong one, living among humans where he belonged. "My foolish half breed sibling has further tainted our bloodline by mating with a priestess" he growled.
"Yes Milord" Jaken stammered
Sesshoumaru glared, was their family cursed to follow this same story on repeat? Blindly allowing themselves to be bound with humans? First their father and now his brother, surely he would have the common sense to find a demonic female who would at least bear him a child with a mere quarter of human blood. Perhaps choosing a suitable mate for his brother via arranged marriage would have been a better idea.
Kikyo approached her hut calmly, Miyuki nuzzled against her chest sleeping peacefully, having fallen asleep as her mother sang to her by the river. Calming her child as she enjoyed the warmth of the sun on her skin, able to live freely, enjoying the simple things. Kikyo had managed to collect some herbs during her walk, some she could blend into tea and medicine, finding ways to pass the time during her care of her daughter. Just because she couldn't fight, didn't mean there weren't ways she could help around the village, there was always a way to help someone. She had to admit, no longer having to journey long distances and constantly be prepared for battle was soothing, her body no longer aching in pain due to the muscle stress and constant combat. No injuries, broken bones, scars and flesh wounds, she could sleep easier, the tension eased from her body, able to unwind and disconnect her brain from battle. To simply daydream like normal girls her age, maybe even considering buying a new kimono, rouge or perfume.
Suddenly, Kaede hurried towards her sister, a quiver of arrows on her back and her bow grasped tightly in her hand "Onee-chan, I missed you" she cried happily. She knew her sister enjoyed her free time and personal space now, her duties as a priestess balanced with motherhood. But she learned all she could in her sisters place, preparing for her future, soon she would even start going to a temple to pray and focus her spiritual power.
Kikyo smiled, stroking her sisters head affectionately "Kaede, have you been training?" she questioned. She knew Kaede had improved her archery immensely and would someday transfer to another village to protect them. But she had a long way to go before she reached her full potential, but she was proud of how much skill she was developing. Putting all her time and effort into becoming a great shrine maiden.
Kaede nodded "Hai, InuYasha Onii-chan watched over me but I've gotten better, he helped me focus and improve my aim" she gushed. Every time she sulked, god mad at herself or felt bad, he would praise her, give her advice and mentor her. Comparing how he learned to channel Tetsuigha's energy, how she could channel her own spiritual aura. Opening her eyes to how she looked at herself, realising she was holding herself back. He made sure she was never attacked by rogue demons while training, that she got home safely and never overexerted herself. She was showing promise already and he was proud of her.
Kikyo smiled warmly, InuYasha had become such a mentor to Kaede it warmed her heart, she raised her head to see InuYasha approaching with a relieved yet warm smile. He hated leaving her on her own when she was in a vulnerable state, glad she came home safely. Gazing at his mate and daughter, he kissed Kikyo's head affectionately, nuzzling against her fondly and breathing in her scent. Then leaning down to kiss his daughters head "Enjoy your walk?" he asked. She seemed at peace with herself, any tension had depleted from her body, but there was still a storm brewing behind her eyes and it worried him.
Kikyo smiled, despite some minor unpleasantness, she had not let it ruin her afternoon. "Hai, the breeze was lovely and Miyuki enjoyed watching the river, I recalled the story of your proposal to her" she giggled. Reflecting on the changes in her body, recovering, and her mental state had helped her mature and accept this new side of herself. She didn't wish to worry InuYasha, they could discuss her confrontations in private later. InuYasha blushed, remembering the evening in which he took a riverboat with Kikyo and proposed to her, knowing she was the woman he wanted to spend his life with, kissing her during the sunset. Hoping Miyuki would be too young to remember this until she was older.
Miyuki laid in her father's arms as he gazed at his sleeping daughter with silent adoration, his golden eyes gentle and tender, aware of the love his mother felt for him and the love his daughter would know. Knowing that had his mother lived long enough to meet Kikyo, she would have loved her as much as she. The same gentle heart, compassionate soul and selflessness. She still had his mothers Beni, which would someday be passed onto Miyuki when she got older. She was so small, so fragile, so perfect, he would fight a hoard of demons, endless armies, anything that life threw at him, just to protect her. Kikyo watched him dote over their child with unbridled devotion, withholding sounds of adoration that wanted to escape her lips as she observed him. The love InuYasha had been neglected of growing up, their daughter would never be neglected of. He would be a great role model to her, they would be best friends and he would protect her from any threat. Though she had some unease, Tsubaki's threat lingering at the back of her mind, of what she could be scheming against her child. Tsubaki never made idle threats and her curses were deadly. The concern that she may attempt to harm her child lingered at the back of her mind.
"You're spacing out more than usual, something happen?" InuYasha comforted, he'd sensed it earlier but kept it to himself. He knew that look, the face of fear and restlessness. Knowing trouble was brewing, fighting the urge to confront it. He knew Kikyo, she had always been one to reflect and contemplate life seriously, the weight of the world on her shoulders. Endless empathy for those around her, at the cost of self care.
Kikyo shifted, her gaze becoming conflicted as her emotions stormed within her. She couldn't lie to InuYasha, she couldn't hide her feelings, she knew he would just jump to conclusions and become fiercely protective. Shadowing her until he found out the truth, taking a deep breath before focusing her thoughts. "I crossed paths with an old associate of mine, we had fought together as begrudging allies in the past, though on her behalf we are rivals. During our early years of courtship, she attempted to curse me but failed" Kikyo pressed. Deflecting the curse with her bow, sending it back at Tsubaki causing her immense pain. Tsubaki would never let her forget her pain, her humiliation and anger, making sure she got revenge for what occurred. InuYasha's gaze became concerned, his face warping into panic, he knew some priestesses dabbled in the dark arts which was forbidden. Though he had no idea Kikyo had been begrudging allies with one in the past. But what had Kikyo done to get on her bad side? She didn't have a bad bone in her body. His mate had been attacked without his knowledge? Sensing his anxiety, Kikyo reached out to take his hand to comfort him, continuing her tale. "Her name is Tsubaki, the dark priestess. She has immense spiritual power on par with my own, however after I deflected her shikigami back at her due to a curse she attempted upon me, her powers weakened. Curses, sutra magic and demon summoning are her main abilities. She's a gifted priestess in her own right, but I cannot understand where her resentment for me began" Kikyo sighed. Why she couldn't utilize her powers for good, why she couldn't help people, why she had to follow such a wicked path?
"Sounds like her and my brother would get along well" InuYasha scoffed, his brother had hated him ever since he was born, some people were just incapable of love. Tsubaki just happened to be one of those people and had fixated on Kikyo. Whatever purity and good intention had once existed in her was now gone.
"She may seek revenge for what happened between us in the past, but she also insulted me for my choice to marry you after my love for you took root. She seems to harbour a bitterness towards our daughter seeing her as a tainted priestess" Kikyo growled. She didn't care why Tsubaki hated her, she cared little for her opinion of her and why she chose to get revenge. But involving her marriage and daughter was something she couldn't ignore. She would be prepared to fight tooth and claw to protect her family and home.
InuYasha growled, the cycle was never ending and this is what he wanted to protect Miyuki from, everything that Kikyo had feared upon her pregnancy and birth. He'd dealt with insults, isolation and ignorance his whole life as a half breed, it was just a fate he had to accept. But like hell, he was going to let anyone insult Kikyo, let alone threaten her and their daughter "Lemme guess, cos she's a quarter demon". She had less demon blood meaning to demons she would be seen as even more of a mockery, a freak, a pale imitation. To humans she would be seen as abnormal, a monster, still carrying the blood of a demon. Like him she would never be able to fit in anywhere.
Kikyo stroked her daughters head softly, the baby gurgling against her touch "Like many she is steadfast in her ways, seeing all demons as monsters, incapable of change. She sees our daughter as another enemy, she will never see that demons can be good, that Hanyo can be good. Her hatred of me transfers to our child too". You couldn't control the tide, merely succumb to the current of the waves, but Tsubaki tried to control the ocean, make it bend to her will. Constantly meeting failure and blaming others instead of admitting her mistakes.
"Well she'll have to go through both of us to try and touch Miyuki" he huffed, he knew what it was like to fight for your life, to have everyone around you hate you or try to kill you. To feel like an outsider, he wouldn't let Miyuki feel that way. He wouldn't let anyone push her around, he would never let his daughter feel as afraid as he had. Never knowing if you would make it through the night.
Kikyo smiled, leaning across to kiss InuYasha fondly "She is protected by us both, the same way you protect us" she hummed. She would be loved by her parents all her life, taught to love and accept who she was and forge her own identity. She would never be alone and nobody would let her feel unwanted or a burden. She had the greatest father in the world.
Kikyo crushed herbs for medicine and tea while InuYasha held Miyuki in his arms, tending to the remaining jobs she needed to finish. Miyuki had settled in her fathers arms and she could see how happy InuYasha was, utterly fascinated by his daughter. Since her birth he never strayed far and was constantly guarding her, much like his father before him during Izayoi's pregnancy. Kaede napping on a nearby futon peacefully, having worn herself from doing deliveries and training all afternoon. InuYasha's ears twitched, his nose picking up a familiar scent and growling lowly, he'd recognise that scent anywhere, that bastard, he wouldn't dare. He knew his brother liked to check on him, making sure he knew his place and avoided him at all costs. Only entering his life when he needed something, when he needed information or to simply insult him. For all they were family, the two couldn't be any more different and Sesshoumaru was someone he hated more than anything. Sesshoumaru was the only connection they had to their father, who could have taught him about his powers or helped him as a child, yet he chose to bully and neglect him. So why was he here? Unless he meant harm to his newborn niece and sister-in-law. Kikyo gazed at InuYasha in concern, there was a change in the air, his body was tense and he was on edge. Guarded and watching out for danger, his previous softness changed with hostility. She had never heard him emit such a fierce sound before, it was almost feral. "InuYasha?" she questioned defensively, hoping she could ease him and help alleviate his fear. As his wife she wanted to do whatever she could to make him feel safe, to let him understand he could trust her.
InuYasha handed Kikyo their baby "Stay here, don't leave the hut and wait for me, don't come after me, no matter what" he warned. Sesshoumaru liked to play dirty, use people as toys and any underhanded method to get what he wanted, no matter how cruel. He was used to Sesshoumaru's cruelty, he had known him all his life and could predict his actions easily. But Kikyo was naive, she had faced demons but never a DaiYokai like Sesshoumaru, he was stronger than even him. Sesshoumaru wouldn't hesitate to wipe this village out instantly, no remorse or guilt for his actions. Kikyo needed to erect a barrier until he got home, anything to protect herself and no matter her worries, all she could do was trust him to come home unharmed. Kikyo's gaze sharpened and a defiant expression formed on her face, she trusted InuYasha but they had fought together before. She knew when he was hiding something and when he lied to her. She knew InuYasha had faced battle before, but as a father, she didn't believe he would behave so recklessly. She trusted him to tell her the truth for her sake, even if it was cruel or frightening. "My brother, he's paid a visit to the village" InuYasha spat, whatever business he had here would never be good. He would try and drive him away or distract him until he got bored. Anything that meant the village was safe and his family was unharmed, he would heal easily enough.
Kikyo stiffened, a sickening feeling filling her stomach, a flash of fear filling her eyes. She knew of InuYasha's half brother, a DaiYokai and lord of the western lands, taking over after their father had passed shortly after InuYasha was born. Infamous for hating humans and half-demons alike, beneath him. He would be less than pleased to learn of his half nieces birth, let alone his marriage to her, understanding why he wished for her to reside here. It was inevitable that he would find out and visit at some point, but she hoped that day would never come. She just hoped that he didn't stay long and InuYasha could convince him to leave "be careful" she warned. InuYasha nodded, he was prepared to come back with injuries, wounds and a bad mood, their conversations always led to fights or simply leaving InuYasha conflicted on Sesshoumaru. Now that he was a father, a husband, his recklessness had lessened, matured, he had someone to protect, something to protect. Like hell he was going to let Sesshoumaru push him around like he had in the past.
InuYasha wandered to the edge of the village, growling lowly and his claws retracted, the scent of his brother leading him. He didn't know what Sesshoumaru wanted, why he was even here, but he would make sure he knew he wasn't welcome here. Away from his mate and his child, he would never know what she looked like unless it was from afar. "I don't know why you're here Sesshoumaru, but you're asking to get killed" he warned, he knew he blamed him for the death of their father, but he wouldn't ruin his happiness. He finally found where he belonged, made a life for himself, he avoided his brother like he wanted, why did he have to ruin everything good in his life?
A shadow appeared in the trees, the demonic aura growing stronger, soon a pair of glowing red eyes appeared before Sesshoumaru stepped from the shadows, glaring at InuYasha with disdain. "Nice to see you too little brother" Sesshomaru chided, despite being a Lord, inheriting their fathers titles, he never showed him any respect. He really needed to learn how to respect his elders.
"Cut the bullshit Sesshoumaru, just spew your montage of narcissism before I have to get ugly" he growled, he was sick of his brothers mind games. If he so much as attempted to touch a hair on Miyuki's head he'd kill him.
Sesshoumaru peered at his brother coldly, brief moments like these his demonic intellect showed, it was just a shame he allowed his rage to blindly lead him. Leaving him open to attacks and allowing stronger opponents to outwit him. "I was informed by Jaken you imprinted and mated with a human female, a priestess no less" he scowled, of all the females he could have copulated with, he chose a human and their worst enemy. He wondered why InuYasha had to be useless at everything, no matter how much he tried to prove he was worthy, his actions proved otherwise. If he had common sense he would have entered a political marriage, avoided humans and embraced his demon heritage.
InuYasha glared, of course, that toad of handler had told Sesshoumaru, using his connections and rumours to better his position and kiss up to Sesshoumaru. He wouldn't allow Sesshoumaru to drag her name through the mud "Her name is Kikyo" he snapped. He would use her name, she had one and she was infamously powerful, she was a worthy woman and his wife. Sesshoumaru didn't have to like her, but he would respect her and he wouldn't allow him to treat her badly.
"Little brother, I'm sure your aware that priestesses are the sworn enemy of DaiYokai and demons" Sesshoumaru berated, priestesses were trained from adolescence as soon as their powers began to bloom into fighting demons with the intent of killing them. Why would he allow himself to fall for a priestess? Many demons had fallen to the same fate and ended up dying because of it, very few lived in harmony with said priestess. The minute he sensed her he should have steered clear and found somewhere else to hide himself, instead he chose to stay and allowed himself to fall for a human. He could only warn his brother and attempt to deter him, but whatever choices he made were of his own undoing.
"She's the first woman to accept me and love me, she's the first woman I've ever cared about. This village is my home, it's the first place I belonged in" he scoffed. Sesshoumaru had reminded him enough times growing up of what a burden he was. Kikyo had noticed his human heritage and why he longed to claim the jewels power to become a full demon in order to be accepted. She had noticed his loneliness, his desire to belong, his desire to be loved, they had so much in common, she was his soulmate.
Sesshoumaru peered at InuYasha, he felt at home in a weakling village like this, rather than own a castle somewhere? How fitting. His human blood reminding him of his mother, despite the nobility in his genes. Among the common blood where he belonged, "So, I take it the spawn is hidden somewhere in this village. Though our father's pureblood is weaker than yours, polluted by human inheritance" Sesshoumaru mocked. She wouldn't have to worry about transforming and losing her demon blood, but she would be susceptible to the attack of stronger demons. She wouldn't always have her parents to protect her either. His brother was a pathetic half breed, his daughter a mere quarter breed.
InuYasha glared, growling louder and cracking his claws, Miyuki was but a week old and he was already insulting her so easily. He really had come here to start a fight like he expcted "Her name is Miyuki, and she's your niece Sesshoumaru by blood, you can't deny that" he mocked. He would hit Sesshoumaru right where it hurt, his pride. Sesshoumaru glared, "She has our golden eyes, mixed with her mothers brown, like a tiger eye stone. She's already got little fangs too. Her mother is an infamous priestess in this region, she'll undoubtedly inherit her immense spiritual power too. She may be weaker in demon blood but she's no weakling Sesshoumaru. So you better accept that" InuYasha snapped. He could see Sesshoumaru wincing, showing his rage and distaste for the truth, seeing his cocky attitude weaken was something InuYasha loved, knowing he was getting to him. She had their grandfathers eyes, both her parents eyes, soon she would be older and running around, discovering the world around her. Sesshoumaru would meet her and he couldn't avoid that. Sesshoumaru growled, so the demon blood in her was stronger than it appeared despite how minuscule it was. The child already showed demonic traits meaning he couldn't lie that she wasn't of their family line. He would be further embarrassed by her weakling blood.
InuYasha held out his hand patiently, glaring at Sesshoumaru coldly, while he was here he could at least do him a favour. It was a right of passage in their family, their father left both of them his swords, one day Tetsuigha would belong to Miyuki too, but until then she would need one of her own too. Sesshoumaru raised his eyebrow suspiciously, wondering what his brother was scheming. "Your fang, gimme one" InuYasha pressed, he wasn't taking no for an answer. Sesshoumaru's eyes widened, he dared to ask for one of his fangs for a sword? Was he so foolish to believe a quarter demon could handle such demonic power? "She'll need protection when she's old enough, my fangs aren't powerful enough, so she'll need one of yours. Now you can hand it over peacefully, or I can rip it from your jaw" Inuyasha warned. It's not like he wouldn't grow one in a day or two anyway. Miyuki would have to protect herself from any enemies InuYasha had made, as well as ones from their fathers past. She may even forge her own somehow, but she would need a way to fight and he would make sure she had that. He didn't need Sesshoumaru's approval, but unlike his brother he wasn't sneaky so he would show manners and ask him upfront. Or he could do it the ugly way.
Sesshoumaru glared, he could see the stubbornness in his brothers eyes, nothing would deter him from this decision. Relenting, he reached into his jaw and removed a fang, not even wincing as he did so, tossing the tooth at InuYasha who caught it in his hand. "I doubt a quarter demon could handle such demonic power, even with her mother. But I will be amused at the attempted outcome" Sesshoumaru mocked, walking away.
Kikyo sat by the doorway, Miyuki laid beside her on the bed as she rubbed her belly gently while her daughter slept, making sure her daughter didn't weep or become unsettled while her father was away. Kaede watching her niece with wide-eyed fascination, suddenly, InuYasha entered the hut with a stern expression. Another unpleasant experience with his brother, a conversation they would both deny ever having and would go about their business avoiding each other. But at least he had gotten this out of the way, assuring Miyuki's future.
"InuYasha onii-chan" Kaede gasped, she knew he'd been to see his brother, was he hurt? He was a bully who had hurt InuYasha growing up and said awful things to him. Had he been hurt this time too? Maybe an argument? She knew he didn't like to talk about it but she was still worried about him. He was her family now.
"What did he want?" Kikyo asked calmly, she could sense the rage bubbling beneath the surface, holding back his temper as to not scare her or Miyuki. She wondered what they had talked about and whether he wanted to share. She knew their relationship was complicated, but surely they could put pride aside somehow. Fate had made them family and neither of them could deny they would always be brothers. But then the politics of demons was far different than humans, so overstepping wouldn't be wise. All she could do was comfort her husband and listen to his problems.
InuYasha scoffed, where did he begin, he was going to have a bad taste in his mouth for days. Calling out Sesshoumaru on his attitude would definitely bite him in the ass later on, but it was worth it. But he had gotten what he needed and he didn't have to see him again until they crossed paths somehow. "Typical Sesshoumaru, he came to insult you, show his disapproval of me mating with a human woman, one who happened to be a priestess. As well as the fact he's pissed that he's now an uncle" he chuckled. It wasn't anything he couldn't handle, he'd made his presence known and now he would go travelling to do whatever business he got up to. Wondering when Sesshoumaru would find himself a wife, when he would stop interfering with his life.
"So, he didn't hurt you?" Kaede asked hopefully, she didn't see any blood or bruises, he wasn't wincing in pain, so that was a good sign. But then being a half demon he would be better at hiding it, his pain tolerance and healing abilities were stronger than theirs.
Inuyasha chuckled, if they had fought the village would have overheard or felt it. Clearly Sesshoumaru hadn't wanted to cause a scene, anything to cause trouble for himself which he wanted to avoid. "Nah, he held himself back, which is a buzzkill for him. But I asked him a favour and I doubt he'll show his face around here again" InuYasha snorted. He'd be too embarrassed to admit he handed over his fang without a fight, shrouding the tale in mystery to make himself look good. He would never confess he did it willingly because InuYasha threatened him. They never had to talk about it again.
Kikyo raised an eyebrow, she was relieved InuYasha was unharmed but what exactly had he gone to meet his brother for? If Sesshoumaru hated his brother, why would he accept InuYasha's request at all? "What favour?" she pressed. InuYasha knelt beside his mate, holding out his hand to reveal a fang. Kikyo winced at the sight of it, the scent of blood still fresh, why would Sesshoumaru willingly hand over one of his fangs to his brother? "A… a fang?" Kikyo asked. She knew demon slayers used the materials of their prey to make weapons, while demons forged weapons the same way. But she had never seen them up close before.
InuYasha nodded "My Tetsuigha is made from my father's fang, forged to protect my mother. My fangs don't hold the same kind of power, so I asked Sesshoumaru for a favour. We can forge a blade infused with your spiritual power and my demonic blood. One that can protect her" he pressed. Sesshoumaru's fang would be stronger material and better suited for a blade, he could bind some of his blood and Kikyo's power into the blade too. It would be a long process to create the perfect blade but it would work.
Kikyo's eyes widened, a blade combined with demonic and spiritual power? Could such a blade exist? She was intrigued to see the finished product but how would she be able to balance a demonic blade without it repelling her power? She wanted to trust InuYasha that it would work "What… what would we call it?" Kikyo asked. The sword would need a name, one fitting of their daughter.
"KuraiTsuki" InuYasha smirked proudly, designed after the snowy moonlit night in which Miyuki was born, designed with a similar style to Tetsuigha and reflecting her parenthood. Harnessing spiritual and demonic power equally somehow, which would be hard but he believed in Totosai's skill.
"Kurai… dark moon blade?" Kaede asked in confusion?
InuYasha nodded "A blade capable of manipulating light-based attacks, lunar power attacks and spiritual demonic energy. Forged from her uncle's fang and your power, just like my father made one for my mother" he pressed. It would be perfect for her, given her DaiYokai grandfather, using the powers she already had and ones she would come to know. She was born in the night so it was only natural her sword should reflect that. Kikyo stroked Miyuki's head affectionately, InuYasha really had thought this through and she was grateful. Able to see her worries and surpass himself by assuring their daughter would always be safe. They were both still naïve and unaware of the power Miyuki could harness when she was older, her spiritual power would possibly help balance her potent demonic blood due to her being mostly human. But it wasn't enough, it would still leave Miyuki open to harm from enemies of his father, InuYasha or Kikyo who may attempt to kill her. "My father had an anti-demon barrier placed on Tetsuigha for me, so we could do the same for her", preventing the blade from ever being stolen.
Kikyo hummed, though a demon wouldn't have a chance of wielding a blade forged with spiritual power, as it would instantly repel them, corrupt priestesses like Tsubaki or others would attempt to use the blade for themselves too. They couldn't risk such a powerful weapon falling into the wrong hands. Kikyo nodded "In the case that she could lose control or someone may attempt to steal it, you or I should be able to retrieve it" she agreed. The demonic residue of Sesshoumaru's fang would make the blade formidable, as well as her powers infused into the sword. She hated the idea of her daughter having to fight for her place in the world, just like InuYasha once had and herself, she wanted Miyuki to be happy.
InuYasha placed his hand over his right eye, wincing in pain as he removed a pearl from his eye, his claws piercing the flesh before revealing a black pearl. He remembered when Myoga told him of this, warning him of the sword his brother may attempt to steal. Making sure it never fell into the wrong hands and InuYasha learned how to use it. Kaede winced as she watched InuYasha remove the object from his eye in disgust and curiosity, he opened his palm to reveal the pearl. "This is the key to my old man's resting place, it's where Myoga helped me locate Tetsuigha. Until Miyuki is of age and stable enough to wield her sword. I can keep it here protected, then when she's ready, she can collect it" he explained. It was the strongest safe-hold he could think of, people would literally have to go through him to claim the sword. Nobody aside from Sesshoumaru would guess where InuYasha would have hidden the blade.
Kikyo gazed at the pearl, the demonic aura pouring from it was indeed formidable, nearly resembling the shikon jewel somehow. A stronghold and the resting place of her father in law, the blade would surely be protected there. She felt safer knowing InuYasha would have the blade on his person until Miyuki came of age to claim it. She closed InuYasha's hand, placing her hand over his. "For the safety of our daughter, we should do what is best for her until she is ready to make her own choices. Her weakened demonic blood would put her at risk of losing control due to her potent human blood. Perhaps through training and focus her spiritual power may balance it out to a stable state. Once she has learned this, she may be ready to inherit the sword" Kikyo pressed. She never wanted to risk that Miyuki could become a danger to herself or others, she knew how InuYasha feared the same thing about himself. When she was ready they would know and so would Miyuki. InuYasha smiled, kissing Kikyo and Miyuki's head fondly. He would protect his daughter with every fibre of his being, understanding now how his father felt about his mother. Creating a blade that would ensure the survival of his clan, preventing any threats. Wishing he could have met his daughter in law, sister in law and granddaughter. Being able to ask him for help, advice he had desperately needed as he grew up, making his way in the world.
"Master InuYasha, it has been so very long, you've become so much like our late master, the great dog demon. He would be most proud" Myoga praised happily. His same silvery hair and golden eyes, yet at times he also resembled his mother so deeply. He was pleased he had finally settled and found a family, it was what his mother would have wanted for him. InuYasha rolled his eyes, Myoga was a coward by nature and retreated from any threat willingly, however, he knew of Totosai the blacksmith and how they were both allies and old friends of their father. He knew of the location of his father's tomb and the Tetsuigha. He turned to Kikyo with a warm smile "Lady Kikyo, it's a pleasure to meet you, at last, I have heard so much about you from my Master. Congratulations on the birth of Lady Miyuki" he praised. She was as beautiful as InuYasha had described, gentle brown eyes and a warm comforting aura that made one feel safe.
Kikyo blushed, this tiny little demon had been a carrier for a DaiYokai? As well as a handler for InuYasha? She would have expected a bigger sized demon, for him to have been so small, how had they ever been able to find him? She wondered how he already knew her name, but then InuYasha must have told him about her before their marriage, learning of her pregnancy and Miyuki's birth. Myoga hopped onto Kikyo's shoulder, then the blanket Miyuki was wrapped in, he sighed fondly. "She has your complexion lady Kikyo, your defined feline eyes. She's already developing fangs like lord InuYasha too. But her eyes, a pure combination of her father's potent Daiyokai blood, but also your gentle brown orbs. Lady Izayoi shines through her too" he praised. Somehow through Kikyo's potent spiritual power, the demonic blood and human blood balanced out equally, but it wasn't a sure distinction that she would not be immune to the potency of her demonic blood. However, she was a beautiful child that much he could agree, she would be a fine princess when she came of age.
InuYasha sighed, holding out his hand to reveal Sesshoumaru's tooth, he wasn't in the mood to be bored to tears by one of Myoga's stories. "Sesshoumaru dropped by with this, he didn't stay for long due to his disgust and denial of being an uncle. I recall you mentioning pops made my sword for my mother, which I use to protect Kikyo, Kaede and now Miyuki. Is it possible to combine the demonic power of Sesshoumaru, myself and Kikyo's spiritual power into a blade to protect Miyuki?" he asked. He knew the forging of a blade was a complicated process, but if there was a chance in hell he would take it.
Myoga's eyes widened, had he heard his master right? "Infuse a demonic weapon with spiritual power?" he asked, InuYasha nodded. Myoga hummed, it was unheard-of, priestesses and demons had been enemies for centuries, since before his birth, let alone his masters. However, Kikyo was indeed a formidable priestess and nobody could match her power "it is a possibility, however intent focus from Totosai and Lady Kikyo during the forging of the blade will be necessary. I cannot make any promises but we can try" he admitted. He didn't want to disappoint his master, but he didn't want to give him false hope either.
InuYasha smiled "Possibility is all I need" he grinned, it was better than nothing and he could work with that.
Kikyo held Miyuki to her chest and stroked her hair, cupping her head and singing softly to soothe her child as stared into space. The fascinating wonders of infancy distracting her child, curious of the world around her. Kaede had gone to deliver homemade medicine to some of the villagers, as part of her training was to make house calls, preparing for when she was older, then she would be the guardian of the village should her sister be indisposed. Kaede was currently seven, but when Miyuki came of the same age Kaede would be in her teens, she needed to prepare for her future, which would not only consist of protecting her niece, but also other villagers. She would be Miyuku's guardian and mentor should something happen to them. Learning all she could to help her people, but also learn to stand on her own feet, however, she never strayed outside the village after the late Mistress centipede attempted to use her as a bargaining chip against Kikyo.
InuYasha sat nearby, watching his daughter with a fondness, he never got sick of admiring them, his girls. Totosai had come to collect the fang with Myoga to begin the forging of the blade, during the process, Kikyo would make visits to the blade to infuse her powers with it. However, once the blade was forged, it would be sealed in her grandfather's tomb in InuYasha's eye. However, unlike her grandfather's hiding place, the tomb or seal would represent both of her parents, the process of his daughters future had begun. He'd asked for the blade to be empowered from the moon, as well as Miyuki's spiritual power and demonic blood. Meaning Miyuki could fight without solely relying on her demon blood. "She'll be ok Kikyo, she's our daughter, when she's old enough, we can teach her to fight combat both hand to hand, physical and as a priestess. She'll be prepared for anything life can throw at her" InuYasha reassured her. He'd had to learn on his own, becoming stronger, faster and in tune with his demonic instincts. Learning to track when he transformed into a human, what he was capable of, so he never lost control of his demon blood. Miyuki would do the same, she would have two great teachers in her parents and she would learn her personalised form of fighting. She would find her own identity while her parents would be role models to her. Unlike her grandfather who passed before he could teach his granddaughter any life lessons, he wanted to be able to mentor Miyuki as much as she could.
Kikyo's gaze softened, she knew InuYasha was right, she could always rely on him for comfort. She never doubted her child would be capable of great things and would grow on her own, but she couldn't help but fear. She had lost her parents much like Inuyasha, her father dying in battle and her mother dying after giving birth to Kaede. Kikyo had raised Kaede alone, while also taking priestess training at the same time, she had been around the same age as Kaede was now. Facing her battles in life, focusing on developing her powers, sacrificing her childhood to protect those around her, no distractions of love, friendship or family to deter her training. She became an ideal, perfect and powerful priestess, at the cost of her adolescence. She didn't want Miyuki to make the same sacrifices, she wanted her daughter to have everything she never had, she wanted her to be happy. "I… I just want her to be happy, I want her to belong, to have a brave heart like us" she sighed.
InuYasha chuckled, Kikyo's empathy never failed to impress him "You've settled into motherhood" he teased, already willing to go above and beyond for her baby. Kikyo blushed in response. InuYasha smirked, nuzzling against Kikyo affectionately, her scent had become stronger since giving birth, her pheromones were different, her sexuality was different. She had matured, she was wiser, she had grown emotionally and she was happy, while before she had smelled like cherry blossom, incense and spring breeze, now she smelled like ripe fruit, peaches almost, a smokey perfume and wildflowers, and he loved it, now she was a woman.
"Inu… Yasha…." Kikyo blushed, trying to figure out what he was thinking, there were times his behaviour confused her. She could hear him growling softly, was he going to mark her? He'd become even more protective after she gave birth as expected in nature with most mating rituals.
"You smell delicious Kikyo, your scent has changed, but it's gotten even stronger, I could get drunk off you" he teased, she was sweeter than any fruit he could possibly eat. Her scent was better than anything he had ever come across before. Kikyo shivered, she could sense InuYasha was possibly aroused, her body had changed since giving birth, her pheromones would be different, but somehow that only made her more alluring to InuYasha. She could feel her heart hammering in her chest from nerves, mustering her courage yet she found herself still trembling. Yet she trusted him, letting him do what he wanted. InuYasha nipped at Kikyo's neck, softly pressing his teeth down on her neck, piercing the pale skin, she winced and gasped slightly at the pain but she didn't move. He sucked and bit at her neck, holding down until he pulled away, revealing a red petal-like mark on her neck. Matching the rouge he had gifted her with when they met. He pulled away smiling, brushing his fingers delicately across the sensitive skin "Mine" he pressed. So every demon and every human male that ever desired Kikyo would know she was taken by someone. Kikyo blushed, was that? he'd left a hickey on her neck, she cupped her neck bashfully with her free hand.
Kikyo delicately traced her fingers across the red mark on her skin, gazing at it in her hand mirror, the same one she used to apply rouge to her lips. Staring at the mark InuYasha had left on her skin. Miyuki was resting peacefully in her basket by the bed, wrapped in her blankets and a small kimono. Snoring softly after having gotten her fill with her mother had lulled her to sleep. Kikyo blushed, despite having laid with InuYasha, she still found herself embarrassed and flustered by gestures like these. InuYasha watched Kikyo, despite the fact she was an older teenager, she was still learning about her sexuality as a woman. As a priestess, she had been expected to repress that growing up for her training. She was a beautiful woman and he would never let her forget that. "I... I didn't make you uncomfortable did I?" he asked hesitantly.
Kikyo blushed, instinctively covering the mark out of embarrassment, forgetting she wasn't alone "I no... it's just... I've never..." she babbled. She had enjoyed it, she had like it, knowing he wanted her so much, that he wanted to mark every part of himself into her. "I know...that you desire me as much as I do you" she muttered. As her husband, of course he would want to touch her, have dirty thoughts about her, wanting to convey his love to her any way he knew how. She was merely getting used to that expression.
InuYasha sighed, yes, he was touch starved and he wouldn't deny that, he'd never known positive affection from anyone. He was used to cold stares, glares, whispers, insults and other negative attention. But this was more than that, Kikyo was unaware of the effect she had on him. "No, I just…. Your pheromones" he muttered bashfully. Compared to humans sense of smell, his was more acute, able to detect changes in her that others were blind to. Species attracted mates unconsciously, the body calling out for a partner to procreate, basic instinct as it was. Due to imprinting on Kikyo, he was more than aware of it.
Kikyo blinked, she had heard of such things, as in mating between animals, though humans were very different "My pheromones?" she questioned. Her pheromones were seducing him? Was she unknowingly seducing him all this time? Was that why he had been acting the way he was? How was she supposed to process this? She couldn't bring herself to speak.
InuYasha blushed, this was basic primal instinct and nature, all animals were capable of this. However, human sexuality was far more complex to explain "After a woman gives birth, to demons your scent changes from when you were a virgin" he pressed. When Kikyo had been a priestess before they met, her pheromones had been weaker, softer even yet still alluring. But after blossoming, becoming a mother and his wife, her pheromones had changed completely.
"So…. When you said, you could get drunk off me…." she blushed, she had no idea her effect on him was that strong, now it all made sense. Why he had been more protective than usual, not just because she had a baby, but because other demons may be aware of her scent. She would unknowingly be attracted other demons and possibly human males to her, making him jealous.
InuYasha nodded, all humans smelled differently to demons, but with your mate their scent became addictive. The only thing you would ever want, ever think of. "You smell delicious, like a peach ready to be plucked, wood smoke and flowers" he explained. She tasted even sweeter, the sweetest thing he had ever tasted. Kikyo blushed, she had never thought that to her mate, her smell could arouse him further, she'd never realised the effect she could have on him. The thought had never even crossed her mind. InuYasha smirked "Your cheeks look like rose petals when you get all embarrassed" he chuckled. Kikyo cupped her hands over her face and groaned, she couldn't hide her feelings around him.
Sesshoumaru wandered through the woods calmly, ignoring the mild pain in his jaw from removing his fang, the wound was already healed and the process of growing a new fang would have occurred overnight. The scent of his half-niece still lingered in the air, her weakened demonic blood, polluted with the scent of her parents. A reminder of a reality that he couldn't ignore, their family was growing and as much as he hated it, she would become stronger as she grew older. "Milord, why did you give that Half breed one of your fangs? Surely a mere quarter demon couldn't handle that level of demonic power" Jaken pestered
Sesshoumaru kept his gaze focused on the horizon, even he had been suspicious of what InuYasha was concocting. Yes, her demonic power was weaker than his or even InuYasha, her senses would be keener than a humans but weaker than a Hanyou or himself. But her spiritual power would surpass even an average priestess thanks to Kikyo. But perhaps her spiritual power could balance out the demonic power, allowing her to wield it. He would drop by occasionally to witness her development and what would become of the sword InuYasha planned to forge. To see if she was worthy of wielding a blade made from his fang. "It matters not Jaken, if I hadn't given him the fang he would have started a childish argument over it" Sesshoumaru berated. InuYasha better put his fang to good use, otherwise it would have been a waste of material
