Chapter 15

It was Friday morning, again. Logan had been working late every night. They were getting ready for HPG to take over the New York Times. At this time there are no plans to change anything. Rory and Harper have been in meetings most of the week with Dean and some of the high-level executives. Rory has plans to take her vacation during Christmas. Harper will still be in the office. Rory will be working from home for a week, then she will check emails.

Logan was not so lucky. He will be working through the holidays. He will have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off. On the lucky side, he will be able to do most of it from home.

Logan and Rory talked about letting Mia go to the Dugray's this weekend. After talking with Emily and Lorelai, Rory called Nancy. She explained that Mia would be at Emily's with her nanny. If she wants Mia to visit her in her home, she will have to pick her up along with the nanny. The nanny is instructed to stay with her at all times. Nancy agreed.

Rory picked Mia up from school. When they got home, Rory had already packed a bag for Mia, but she let Mia pack some toys and books. Logan and Rory talked with Mia Thursday night. Explained to her that she is only visiting. She and Kimmy will have a sleepover with Grandma Emily. Kimmy will go with her to Yaya's house.

Mia wasn't sure about this, but Rory and Logan both promised her she was coming back. Kimmy and Mia were getting ready to leave. Frank is driving them. Logan and Rory will pick them up Sunday afternoon. Rory was giving last-minute intrusions to Kimmy and reassuring Mia that it will be okay for her to have a good time. Logan pulled into the driveway. He jumped out of the car. "I was afraid I had missed you." He picked Mia up. "I have a surprise for you." He said, sitting her down on the steps. He pulled a Pink Gizmowatch2 out of his pocket. He put it on Mia's wrist. He showed what to press to send Momma a message. Log pressed the button and Rory's phone rang. When she answered it "Call Mia" Rory pressed the button and Mia's watch started ringing. Logan showed her how to answer it so she can talk to them. The screen has a picture of a mom and a picture of a dad. Mia was excited. "Don't take it off. It is okay to take a bath with it on, just don't hold it underwater."

Rory took Mia to the car and buckled her in, while Logan talked to Kimmy. He gave her a new iPhone. He told her that she is to keep this phone on her at all times and to answer it when he or Rory calls. The grandparents have this number. Answer them also. Kimmy told him that she understood. They were instructed to call when they landed. Richard is picking them up.

Rory and Logan went back into the house. "So, what're your plans for the weekend?" Logan asked. "Well, I thought I would get caught up on my work since I was in meetings all week," Rory said. "Yes, that is my plan too, but, I think I can find the time to take my wife out to eat. How would you feel about a night out on the town?" Logan asked. "What did you have in mind? Drive-thru at Dairy Queen, or sit down at Taco Bell?" Rory asked with a smile. She was moving closer to Logan. "I was thinking about you dressing up. Wear something that will look good laying on the floor next to the bed." Logan said. He bends down to kiss her. He pulled back before it got too heated. "It's still early. I have some work to do. I will make reservations for 7:00. How does that sound?" Logan asked. "Good. Are you wearing a tux or a suit?" She asked. "Just a suit and tie," Logan told her. He let go of her and went to the office to work. She grabbed her laptop and went to the bedroom.

Kimmy and Mia landed at the Hartford office. Richard and Emily were waiting. Mia had to show them her watch. Emily told her it looks nice. Richard and the pilot put the bags in the car, while Kimmy put the booster seat in the back seat. On the way to the Gilmore Manor, Emily told Mia that for supper tonight she would order pizza, and then they could watch a movie. "Can we watch Frozen?" Mia asked. "I believe I have that on DVD. I called your nana to ask her what movies you would like. She told me that you like frozen." Emily told her.

When they arrived, Nana and Grandpop were waiting on them. Mia told Lorelai all about the helicopter ride. "And then Kimmy was going to throw up, but Jeff told her not in my helicopter." Mia was telling the story, Kimmy's face was turning red. "I told Jeff, this is my helicopter," Mia said. "Jeff laughed and told me that he would teach me to drive it. If Daddy Logan says it okay." Mia was still talking as they walked into the house.

"Lorelai, does she talk all the time?" Emily asked. "Just like Rory did," Lorelai said. Emily got a sad look on her face. She missed Rory's younger years, but she decided she could not dwell on the past. The maid took Kimmy and Mia's bags up to their room. Emily told Mia that she would show her the bed set she bought her later.

Logan was waiting downstairs. He was pacing the floor. "Ace, If you don't hurry, we will be late." He said looking at his watch. "I'm coming. Hold your horses." Logan looked up and Rory was standing on the top of the stairs. She is wearing The Brienne Dress-Black-Lady Black Tie. Logan just watched her as she descended the stairs. "Logan, what do you think? Is this going to look good laying beside the bed?" Rory asked. Logan still has not said anything. When she reached the bottom step, she held out her hand for Logan to help her make the step. He twirled her around to get a good look at her. She smiles at him. "Yes, Ace, this will do just fine."

He helped her on with her coat. She grabbed her Four Ring Gathered Leather Clutch Bag by Alexander McQueen. She opened it, dropped her lipstick, cell phone, and credit card in the clutch, and closed it. As they were walking to the car Logan asked. "Ace, do you really think it is necessary to take a credit card with you. I will be paying and I will be with you the whole time." "Logan, you never know what may happen. You could end up in the hospital or on the phone and I will need my credit card to buy a book to read." Logan looked at her. He then busted out laughing. "Come on, you are too smart for your own good." He said as he led her to the town car. Frank opened the door for her. She stepped in. Logan was talking to Frank, she had an idea.

When Logan sat down in the back seat, she asked him. "Tell me where we are going." "No, it will be a surprise." "If you don't tell me, you might not get to see this little black dress laying on your side of the bed." "Oh, you think so?" Logan smirked. Rory smiled at him as she put something in his pocket. "What did you do?" Logan asked. She just shrugged her shoulders and grinned at him. He stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out a black thong. "Where did this come from?" he asked. "Where do you think?" she said "You did not take these off just now." He said. She just grinned.
