Saturday morning has Rory waking up. Before she opens her eyes, she remembers that she is not in her own bed. Logan had surprised her. They stayed in the Morgan Hotel last night. She remembers dancing on the balcony, under the stars. She still had her eyes closed but she could feel Logan looking at her. "How long have you been staring at me?" Rory asked. "Not long." He replied. "I ordered breakfast, we have about 30 minutes before it arrives." He said in a low husky voice.
Mia was up and dressed. She was eating breakfast with Richard and Emily. When she sat down for breakfast, the maid asked her what she would like. "Eggs, Pancakes, and Bacon. Orange juice, please." "My you are so grown up for five years old," Emily said. "Don't you think so Richard?" She asked. Richard put his paper down and looked at Mia over his reading glasses. "Which part of the paper would you like?" Richard asked. Before Mia could answer, Emily said. "Richard she does not read the paper at the table, she is being raised as a proper lady." Mia looked at her Great-grandma. Then her Great-grandpa. "I'll take the comics," Mia said. Emily gasped to keep from laughing. Rory told her that she would probably ask for the comics out of the paper. Richard handed her the comics. She took it and looked at Emily. "I am a proper lady, would like me to read the paper to you?" Mia asked. Emily couldn't resist. "Yes please." Mia got up and sat in the chair next to Emily and started describing what she saw in the comics.
Kimmy was in the kitchen eating her breakfast. When she finished, she asked Emily if she knows what time the Dugrays will be here to pick them up. "Any minute now. Mia you will have to read the paper later, you need to eat and get washed up." Emily told her. She put the paper down and Kimmy helped her up the stairs to get cleaned up.
When they returned, Nancy was in the foyer, just arriving. "Hello, Yaya," Mia said. "Yaya Kimmy is coming with me today." "That will be just fine. Are you ready?" she asked. Kimmy spoke up. "Is the car parked out front? I have her booster seat." Nancy told her it was out front and the driver will help her. When Kimmy was gone, Nancy asked Emily. "I thought we could do a little shopping after lunch. Would you like to join us?" Nancy asked. "Yes, Grandma Emily. It will be fun. I will have a grandma and a Yaya to buy for me." Mia said. Emily just laughed. "Yes, I will, where should I meet you?" Emily asked. "Just stop by the house about noon," Nancy said.
Rory and Logan were just getting home. Rory told Logan on the way home that she has work to do. He told her so does he. He went to the office and she went to the bedroom. Both worked till after lunch. Rory was headed to the kitchen to find something to eat. She stopped by Logan's office. "Do you want a sandwich? I am on my way to the kitchen," Rory asked. "Sure," Logan said. "I'll come with you." When they got to the kitchen Benjamin was sitting at the bar, while Claire was fixing him a sandwich. She offered to fix them a sandwich, but Rory said she would do it. The four of them sat in the kitchen and talked. Mostly about how quiet it was without Mia.
Claire asked. "Do you plan on having any more beautiful babies?" Rory looked over at Logan. "I'm sorry, that was out of line. That is something that is personal. Forgive me for asking." Claire said. "No, it's okay. Right now we do not plan on having any children. I had a rough time after Mia was born. I had a hard time getting pregnant, then I went into a deep depression. I am only 34, I want to talk with my doctor and see what she recommends. I would love to give Logan a child. I'm just scared of disappointing him." Rory said. "Ace, you will not disappoint. If we don't have any more children, then that is fine with me. If we have 5 more children, that also will be fine with me. Whatever makes you happen." Logan said.
Emily arrived at the Dugray's. She rang the doorbell and the maid answered the door. She followed the maid into the living room where Mia was lying in a chair reading, while Jaylon was in his office on the phone. "Mia, honey," Emily said. Mia jumped. It was quiet with the exception of Jaylon on the phone. The office was right off the living room and he had the door open. "Grandma," Mia said as she sat up in the chair and put her shoes back on. "Where is everyone?" Emily asked. "They eating. Come on, I will show you." Emily followed Mia to the dining room, where Nancy, Anita, and Tristan were at the table eating. "Emily, I'm sorry, I didn't hear you come in," Nancy said. "I rang the bell, the maid let me in," Emily said. "We are almost finished with lunch," Anita said. Emily smiled at her. "Mia and I will wait in the living room," Emily said.
As soon as Emily and Mia got out of earshot, Emily asked Mia, "Did you eat?" Mia said. "Me eat cereal. But the milk tasted funny. It tasted like the milk Daddy Logan drinks. I not like it." "They didn't offer you a sandwich?" "No, I said I was good." "Where is Kimmy?" Emily asked. "I not know. She was here but she is not." Mia said. "Grandma, where we going shopping? Can I get a new dress and shoes?" Emily laughed, "Yes you can, you take after your Nana with the shoes."
It wasn't very long before Nancy returned to the living room. "I am sorry. Lunch ran a little over. We tried to wait on Jaylan, but he was busy in the office. Then Mia spilled her juice. Kimmy took her to go change. It has just been one thing after another." Nancy said. Emily nodded and smiled. "We will be ready to go as soon as Anita finishes," Nancy said. "Mia, go tee-tee before we leave," Emily whispered. Mia got up to go to the bathroom but stopped. "Grandma, will you go with me?" Emily nodded. "Show me the way."
When arrived at the shops, Mia took Emily's hand. They walked and shopped. Anita was tired, so they didn't get to shop very long. Mia found several dresses that she liked and shoes. Emily bought them for her. Nancy nor Anita offered. Anita bought herself a purse and shoes. This bothered Emily, If she had not been with them would they have not bought Mia anything? After the shopping, Emily, Mia, and Kimmy headed back to the Hartford Manor. They made plans to have lunch together at Emily and Richard's. Rory and Logan would be flying in before noon.
