Chapter 30
Rory POV
The weekend of Steph and Colin's wedding had finally arrived. I felt like this weekend was never going to get here. Steph and Colin had been through so much since they had solidified their relationship. We'd all decided to stay at the plaza last night to make it easier for getting ready this morning. Juliet and I had gone in together and hired photography crews to document every moment of this day for them.
Everyone had been running around all day trying to finish last minute preparations and get dressed. I had enlisted Mom's help since Steph hadn't hired a wedding coordinator. We had essentially hired mom as the wedding coordinator at least for the day. I mean, she'd definitely done it enough between the Independence inn and the Dragonfly.
I'd sent Steph with Juliet off to the Spa for some pampering while I had gone to check in with the boys. As soon as the door opened and Finn saw me, he quickly stepped into the hallway making sure that the door didn't lock him out. "Hi beautiful." He said, leaning down for a quick kiss.
"Hi baby. How's everything going?" I asked him.
"It's going. Colin's freaking out a bit. He's thinks that Steph's going to stand him up." Finn said.
I rolled my eyes. "She's not going to stand him up. I've sent her to the spa with Juliet for pampering." I told Finn.
He pulled me into his arms and wrapped his arms around me. "How're you feeling?" He asked me.
"Pretty good." I told him. "I should get back. I gotta get the room set up for when they get back."
He nodded. "I love you." He said.
I reached up and touched his cheek. "I love you." I said, before turning and heading back to the room that the girls and I had commandeered for the day.
Half an hour later, the girls that had been hired to do hair and makeup for the day arrived. I showed them where they were to set up. While they were setting up, I called room service and ordered some coffee. Then I decided to sit and wait for everyone.
By the time that Steph and Juliet had returned, the other girls had arrived and we started getting ready.
Finn POV
After Rory left, I spent the next couple of hours trying to get Colin to relax. Logan had finally arrived and had handed him a glass of scotch. We'd decided to give Colin a little bit of space so we walked out to the balcony. "You doing okay?" Logan asked me.
"Yeah. I just worry about Rory, you know?" I said.
He nodded. "Yeah. Is she stressing?" He asked me.
I shrugged. "I don't know. She doesn't seem like it but she also doesn't quite seem like herself sometimes." I said.
"You wanna know what I think?" He asked me. I nodded. "I think that with this pregnancy it's bringing back memories of the miscarriage. I think that it has her thinking about what she missed out on…what you both missed out on. I think that when she thinks about it…it makes her sad." Logan said.
He left me there to go check on Colin. I hoped that what Logan had said was true.
We had to start getting ready. We were two hours away from the start of the ceremony. After gathering my thoughts, I walked back in so that I could start getting ready.
When it was time to head down to the ballroom, I looked at Logan and he nodded. I turned to Colin. "Hey man…you ready to go?" I asked him.
He looked up at me. "She's going to be there, right?" He asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah, man. She's gonna be there. And when she steps through those doors, every doubt and every fear is just going to fade. It'll be like it never existed. And then you'll wake up tomorrow morning and you'll realize that you get to wake up to her face every day for the rest of your life." I said, thinking about some of my own fears that I had right before Rory and I got married. "It's the best feeling in the world." I said, smiling.
Colin looked at me and said, "And you guys will make sure that I don't turn into my father."
I looked at Logan and then we both looked at Colin and smiled. "Not gonna happen. You think that Rory is gonna let you turn into your father and hurt Steph?" I said.
"Good point. She'd have me committed for insanity." Colin said and we all laughed.
"That's a fair point. All right, let's get you married." I said.
Rory POV
After we'd finished getting ready, I'd sent Rose and Juliet downstairs to wait for us. I wanted a minute with my best friend. "How do I look?" Steph asked me.
I could feel the tear building. Damn hormones. "You look beautiful." I said. "You know, we've come a long way during our friendship." I told her reaching in my purse for her present. I pulled it out and walked over to her.
"We have. We've all come a long way since the early days. I mean, I never thought that Colin would ever commit. Let alone ask me to marry me. And if I'm being honest, I actually thought that you and Logan would end up together." Steph said.
I laughed at the thought of Logan and I together. "In the beginning, sure I thought that Logan and I might have ended up together but it turned out that we're actually better off as friends." I said, handing her the box.
"What's this?" She asked me, taking the box.
I let out a sigh. "It's just a little something that I got you so that you know that no matter where we are in our lives, that you know that you always have me to depend on." I told her as she started to open the box.
When she opened the box and saw the charm bracelet that I'd gotten her, she had this big grin on her face. "I love it Ror. Thank you." She said, hugging me.
I wiped the tears from my face. "Alright. Let's go get you married." I said
I handed her, her bouquet. "Let's do this."
When Steph and I got downstairs, I told Mom that we were ready. She walked inside to let them know that we were ready to begin. I watch as the doors opened and I watched as Rose and Juliet each walked down the aisle to their spot at the altar. When it was my turn, I walked through the doors and made my way down looking at Finn and never taking my eyes off him. When I got to the end of the aisle, I smiled at him and he winked at me.
When the wedding march started, everyone stood and turned toward the doors and watched as Steph and her Dad walked through making their way down the aisle to the altar. When they reached the altar, Steph's dad kissed her cheek and then joined her mom.
I listened as the minister started talking but I wasn't really paying attention. I looked across the aisle at Finn and I couldn't help but think about everything that we'd been through. Finn had been back in my life for less than a year and here we were married with a baby on the way. I mean, sure, we'd had some rough times during the time that we'd known each other and sure there had been some distance for a while…but when I looked back on it…I wouldn't change a thing. When I think about when Finn graduated, as much as I had wanted to marry him back then, I don't think that we were ready.
I guess that I had been so lost in my thoughts that I hadn't heard the minister pronounce them husband and wife. Steph and Colin kissed and then made their way back down the aisle. Logan and Juliet were next. Finn stepped to me and offered me his arm, "You okay?" He asked me as we made our way up the aisle.
"Yeah. I was just thinking about everything that we've been through." I said. I looked over at him and he had a worried look on his face. "All good things baby." I told him.
"Good." He smiled.
A/N: Okay Steph and Colin are married now. We're almost done and I can't believe it. But in a good way. Hope that you guys enjoy the next chapter.
