Chapter 24

Rory was up early. She had a lot to do today. She was surprised her Grandma had not already come knocking on their bedroom door. She was just coming out of the bathroom, dressed in a robe, when she heard the phone ringing. She went to grab it, but it was Logan's phone ringing. He was slowly coming back to life. She saw that it was Collin, so she answered.

Rory: "Collin, Logan is just waking up." She walked to the bed to shack Logan. "Logan, Collins on the phone."

Logan: "Hello," He said, still half asleep.

Collin" "Wake up man, I found something out that I think will explain a lot. Meet me at the diner in town. 15 minutes. Bring Dillon." Logan was left holding the phone, just looking at it.

Logan: "He hung up on me." He still held the phone, but he was sitting up on the bed now.

Rory: "Did you say something?" She was walking out of the closet dressed with her shoes in her hand.

Logan: "Collin needs to meet me and Dillon at the diner in 15 minutes. Can you call Dillon, Just tell him Collin found something." he said as he was entering the bathroom to get ready.

Rory called Dillon, told him what Colin said. After she hung up with Collin, she walked back to the bathroom to tell Logan what Dillon said and to kiss him bye. She had to be downstairs before her Grandma came looking for her.

Rory: Dillon said he will meet you downstairs in the car. I'll keep Mia with me. Estella's sister is coming to help today." She kissed him while he brushed his teeth and left the room.

When Rory got downstairs, Emily was giving Estella a list of things that needed to be done. Her sister is here to help with Mia.

Rory: "Morning Grandma," Rory kissed her on the cheek.

Emily: "Morning dear. We have lots to do." Emily went back to talking with Estella.

Rory: "Yes, Ma'am. Logan and Dillon are meeting Collin at the diner. He has some information." Rory looked around, looking for her Grandpa. "I think it would be a good idea if Grandpa went with them."

Emily: "He is already in town. I will call him." Emily walked to the dining room and picked up her cell phone.

While she was talking with Richard, Logan came down the stairs. He kissed Rory and started out the door.

Rory: "Grandma is calling Grandpa. He is meeting you at the diner." Logan nodded his head as he raced out the door.

It wasn't long before Mia came downstairs, still in her pajamas.

Mia: "Momma? Daddy Logan?" She yelled coming down the stairs. Rory walked around the corner.

Rory: "In here, baby. No need to yell." Rory picked her up. "Did you forget to get dressed?" She buried her head in Rory's shoulder. Estella's sister Holly entered from the kitchen.

Holly: "Hey, I'm Holly. If you will let me, I will help you get dressed." She looked at Rory. Rory nodded. "Show me where your room is. Is your name Fred?" Holly was smiling, glancing at Rory, who smiled back.

Rory: "Her clothes are laid out on the chest at the end of her bed." Rory walked back to help with getting everything ready for the dinner party.

Mia: "My name is not Fred. Do I look like Fred? My name is Mia." She was walking back up the stairs with Holly following her. When they got to her room, Holly stopped and looked around. She waited until Mia was watching. She pulled out a small notebook and flipped through the pages.

Holly: "Yeah, see right here," She showed Mia a page in her notebook that said, Fred. Holly was looking at Mia to see how she would react. Mia took the book from her and flipped the page.

Mia: "Right here, it says Mia." She handed the book back to Holly, then put her hands on her hips. Looking at Holly.

Holly: "I'm sorry. I got you mixed up with my next babysitting job." Holly was trying not to laugh at the expression on Mia's face. "Do you want to go wash your face and brush your teeth before we get dressed?" Mia shook her head and went into the bathroom. She walked back out.

Mia: "You are going to have to help me." She then turned back around and went back into the bathroom. She glanced over her shoulder to see if Holly was following her. Holly helped her wash her face and brush her teeth. Mia stepped off her stool and returned to her room, again glancing over her shoulder to make sure Holly was following. "I tell you when I need help. Sit" She said pointing to the bed.

Holly proceeded to make the bed up, watching Mia while she was getting dressed. When she finished. She sat on the chest at the end of the bed.

Mia. "I can't put my shoes on. Help me." Holly was finishing up the bed as Rory opened the door to check on them. "Holly, I said I need your Help."

Rory: Amelia Elizabeth. There is no reason for you to be rude. Apologize now." Mia hung her head.

Mia: "I'm sorry." She keeps her head down. Before Holly could say anything, Rory stopped her with her hand.

Rory: "Mia? Look at me." Mia picked her head up and looked at Rory. "Now, Look at Holly and tell her you are sorry and mean it." Rory had her hands on her hips and was in mean mommy mode.

Mia: "Holly, I'm sorry." Mia stood up and went to hug Holly. Holly smoothed her hair down.

Holly: "It's okay little one. We will get used to each other. Now go sit on the chest and I will put your shoes on." Holly was smiling at Mia. Rory nodded her head and mouthed "thank you."

When they got downstairs, Holly took Mia in the kitchen to get her some breakfast and to get her out of the way of the party planning. The decorators and the carters are there working hard.

Rory: "Grandma, What is the dress code for tonight?" Rory was sure she heard her grandma say dressy casual. She just wasn't sure that her dressy casual is the same as Emily's.

Emily: "A nice sweater dress with leggings, Hair down, ankle boots." Emily was smiling at the shocked look on Rory's face. "You didn't think I could dressy casual?" Rory just shook her head. She brought a nice tunic sweater with her. Mia had several things that would work. She couldn't wait to see Logan in his sweater.
