It won't be like this for long: Chapter 28

Chapter 28 Epilogue

Logan and Rory were standing in the gazebo in the center of Stars Hollow. This was the 10th annual Taylor Doose Festival and it was well on its way. Last night they had announced the Taylor Doose Scholarship at the 10th annual Taylor Doose Bonfire. It was tradition for Rory to make the announcement.

Last night before she presented the scholarship winner, she announced to the town that this would be the last one she presented. Next year. Amelia Huntzburger will take over as the Grand Marshall. Rory and Logan have made many decisions in their marriage. Some good, Some not so good. Some great. One of the great decisions was to make Mia help with the 1st Taylor Doose Festival. She found her niche. At 26 years old. Mia was a Yale graduate. She is CEO of P&CP. After that first summer of Mia interning with P&CP she was hooked. By the time she graduated from Yale, with honors, Mia had worked in just about every department at P&CP. She earned her spot at the top.

Rory pointed out Hayden and his girlfriend Sami. They watched as Hayden helped Sami's 2-year old onto the carousel. They started dating when Sami was pregnant with Samuel. She was just 18, fresh out of high school. She found out she was pregnant after she had been raped at a college party. Hayden was interning at Chris's law firm when he met her. Chris was drawing up termination of parental rights papers. Her rapist was in jail.

Hayden, Rory, Logan, Mia, and McKenzie were there when Samuel was born. He and Sami have been a part of their lives ever since. The two of them are sophomores at Yale. They have an apartment off campus. Rory and Logan helped with Samuel every chance that they get. Rory and Logan were laughing. Samuel was screaming at the top of his lungs. He was having the time of his life.

Right past the carousel, was McKenzie and Ricky. Richard Christopher Huntzburger was Logan and Rory's last child. He was 10 years old. You could not tell him anything. He was spoiled. This was not Rory and Logan's fault. They could blame it on his siblings.

McKenzie was painting faces, while Ricky had a megaphone, telling everyone to come to see his sister, she is the world's best face painter. Kenzie had yet to find her calling. She was taking journalism classes at Yale, with a minor in business, but she still wasn't sure what she wanted to do. Logan told her to take her time. She would figure it out.

They were proud of their family. Over the years, Uncle Logan and Aunt Rory had many nieces and nephews. They loved them all.

Logan had his arm around Rory as they looked out over the festival.

"Ace, Let me buy you an ice cream." He told her as he led her down the steps of the gazebo and toward the Ice Cream Shoppe.
