This is just a filler chapter to help explain so of the questions that I am getting. Read and Review. You won't know if you don't ask.
She Ain't My Blood, But She's My Girl
Chapter 31
It is New Year's Eve. Rory, Steph, and Honor had just returned from the Time Square Spa. They had just gotten pampered for the New Year's Eve party. HPG owns 2 apartments right off of Times Square in New York. Both apartments are identical. They are used for out-of-town clients. As Shira put it, 'The apartments are too small to live in.' Both apartments are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths. If asked Rory could not tell you which of the features she liked the best. The rooftop terrace that allows you to see the ball drop in Times Square or the view from the bedrooms.
It just so happens that neither apartment was being used on New Year's Eve. Honor and Josh were in one apartment and Logan and Rory were in the other. The bartender was already upstairs setting up. The caterers were also setting up. The rooftop was set up with high-top tables, a few sofas, and a few chairs. Standing on the terrace, you could see the other areas of the rooftop being set up. This was another thing about these apartments, two apartments to a terrace.
After the revolution in Aspen, Rory and Logan let Tristan stop by the Chalet before he left. Mia didn't understand. They did not even try to explain it to her. Tristan assured them that he would handle Jaylan and Nancy. Rory and Logan agreed not to pursue the trust. Collin had the papers ready to file along with an affidavit from Tristan. Hopefully, all this will be over soon. Rory was ready to get past it. She has a doctor's appointment next week to have her IUD removed. It was time to move forward.
Mia and Kimmy were back in Great Neck with Clara and Benjamin. They were planning their own New Year's Eve party. That ball will drop at 10:00 pm.
Honor stepped back into the bedroom. Rory is sitting on the edge of the bed. She could see out the windows. The view was gorgeous. Part of her just wished she and Logan were the only ones here. She has it pictured in her mind. They would enjoy a meal and a few drinks. They would retire to bed and stay there, looking out the windows at the view, until just before midnight. They would then move to the living room and watch the ball drop. That would be her perfect New Year's Eve night, but not this year.
"Rory, do you know what time it is? Get your butt in gear. I want to be halfway to drunk by the time the ball drops." Honor said. Lorelai pushes her way past Honor. She and Luke were staying the night in the other bedroom. Rory had not seen her since Christmas.
"It's windy and chilly up there, I hope you have something warm to go with that dress. I wish my husband had that kind of taste. It is the perfect dress for you on New Year's Eve." Lorelai commented. Rory stood up and twirled for her momma, then hugged her. Luke and Lorelai stayed in Stars Hollow after Christmas. April, Luke's daughter was coming in as well as there was a full house at the inn. Those are the excuses Lorelai gave for turning down the invitation to Aspen each year. They both know it is because it would be torcher for Luke and Lorelai and Emily would be forever bickering. Rory would have to referee.
Rory let go of her mother to walk into the closet. She came out holding a New New Ganc Wool and Leather-Trim Stole by Salvatore Ferragamo that matched her dress. Her dress is an Iris-colored Glittery Jersey Bateau-Neck Gown by Chiara Boni La Petie Robe.
"Wow, aren't we fancy," Lorelai said laughing. Honor looked at Lorelai. She spent a little time with her, but it was always supervised. She wasn't sure if she was being serious or playing with Rory.
"Rory, I came in here to tell you your husband, my baby brother is being impatient. He wants to see you in your dress." Honor told Rory. The ladies exit the bedroom only to be stopped before entering the living room.
"Hear Ye, Hear Ye," Finn said and looked back at the ladies. He whispered, "that means for them to listen up." The ladies were giggling the proper way a lady should giggle. "May I present to you," He grabbed Honor by the hand, She was nearest to him. "Honor Huntzburger, she is being escorted by her husband Josh," Josh walked to where Honor was and took her hand. As they walked off, Honor said, "Harris, I married Josh Harris." Finn at least looked ashamed that he didn't know.
"Now, May I present the lovely, and genetically perfect, Lorelai Gilmore," Finn bowed in front of her before Luke took her hand. The guys were all dressed in various styles of tuxedos, Luke was more comfortable in just a suit and tie. Everyone was okay with that. He could hear Luke mumble, "Danes, her name is Lorelai Danes." Finn just shrugged his shoulders.
"Now, Last but certainly not least, I present to you, the glorious, the beautiful, my one true love," That got Logan's attention. He gave Finn a look that did not need an interruption. "I mean my mate's one true love, Rory Gilmore." Rory turned her head and looked at him. "Huntzburger. You didn't let me finish" Finn said.
While everyone was laughing, Steph sidestepped him. He turned around to introduce her and she wasn't there.
After taking way too many pictures, they headed to the rooftop terrace. Lorelai was right. It was a bit chilly but nothing they couldn't handle. They danced and drank, they laughed and told stories. It was nice to be a part of a small group and not a huge party. They were enjoying themselves. Finn's date showed up at about 11:30. She had other obligations to tend to, but now she was here. Before they knew it Finn was yelling it was almost midnight. They all crowded around the red brick and iron railing around their terrace. They watch the ball go up as Finn counts down. The bartenders made sure everyone had a glass of champagne to toast the New Year with.
